You would have to take your eyes way too far away from the window just to use it. It would be a pain if using it for navigation.

I have it attached to my air vent and it's very close to the line of sight to the windshield and the steering wheel.

I use this iOttie vent mount, it's been great so far. I don't like the magnet mounts because of the little plate you have to either stick to your phone or sandwich between the case and the phone. You can attach and detach the phone from the mount with just one hand - many non magnet mounts require two hands to use (hold open the mount with one hand, extract the phone with the other)
I know you said you're not a fan of the vent ones but I just got one of these for my car and it works great. I have another iOttie that mounts on the dash that I haven't had any problems with in 1+ year ownership. I recommend anything by them.
This is pretty much the best option as far as non magnetic vent clips. I use mine everyday and it's perfect for one handed use.

Vent clips on securely, snaps shut when the back button is depressed by the phone, and unlocking the phone puts your hands naturally around the phone.
I have a 2016 Scion iA, which is the same exact car. This one works on the middle vent for my iPhone 6S. The bottom of the phone rests on the soft section of the dash.

Vent phone clip
I bought this because I wanted to continue to use my wireless charging so a metal plate in the back of the phone was out of the question and this works great !

its the best mount i have ever used. its a vent mount but they make a cd mount as well that is apparently equally as good. there are 2 things that make it better than any other product on the market.
1: the vent clip is super tight, it will not fall off like so many other ones
2: the mechanism that locks your phone is a button that presses as you put your phone in the mount, you don't have to fiddle around with anything to lock it in place, you just put it in the mount and done. afaik they have a patent on this so every other mount of this type has you squeezing it together or some other time wasting nonsense.
i used to use magnetic mounts but i didn't want to risk the wireless charging malfunctioning cause of the disk & the 3 or so mounts i have used like that usually seem to fall off of the vent once and a while.
also, protip for vent mount users. put your vent mount in the closest passenger side mount and turn the vent off (at least in the winter) to avoid blasting your phone with hot air
I have two vents I can put the mount in my Cars dash. Not sure if the Kenu will stick out far enough for the top vent which does not close.
I did find this iOttie Which will angle the phone.
