Put somewhat tall plants on each side, put the wires hanging down in the wall. I used these for that. Since you seem to be going greyish, get something black/white/grey to go underneath the tv. Don't worry about a table next to it unless you have some lamp you want to use in the corner.
It would be a little bit cheaper to do it your way. But like everyone is saying, just do it right and do it to code.

Most of my small upgrades are already mentioned here, but I'll add one more: wall mounting your flat-screen TVs. The difference in how a properly wall-mounted TV with all the cables hidden looks vs. one just sitting on a shelf is incredible. We originally did it for safety reasons (having a toddler in the house) but I eventually ended up wall-mounting every TV in the house because it looked so good.
It only takes about an hour to do and can be done with like 5 tools. All you need is a screwdriver, wrench, level (the bracket even includes a small level), jab saw and stud finder. Though a power screwdriver and cable fishing line will make things a bit faster.

Sadly, I didn't get pictures while I was installing. It wasn't too bad, though. Used this to wire through the wall and down next to an outlet below the tv. The Powerbridge helps keep everything to code for if we ever move out.
Behind the media console is pretty tidy, thanks to the cabinet's cable management (runs along the back near the top with ventilation). Only one cubby is dedicated to all the power strips/modem/router for the entire setup.
The worst part was probably the knot in my stomach right before I stabbed the drywall in our new house. I also took the rule of "measure twice, cut once" and modified it to "measure a thousand times..."
Mac OS X, running on the latest MBPro and wired into the monitor via USB-C. The monitor itself has USB, so I ran a USB hub into that, through the wall, and underneath my desk for any peripherals.

Just a FYI - I bought this kit from amazon for my wall mounted tv so I wouldn’t have to worry about power and conduit etc. they have different sizes and specs so find the right one for you.

Ok that's a mistake. The adapter should be designed to handle the entire string of LEDs. Maybe even more if you read the literature. My LED addaptor that came with mine can handle up to three strings and I only have two attached. You might find yourself cutting a section of LEDs off the end if your string is to long. Defiantly read the literature that came with your set.
Now those dongles do look ugly. Something like this should look better. You can then put a blank cover over it, or a picture, or a clock, or a picture of a clock. You can run the low voltage side over to the LEDs and have it pop out the wall right at the end of the LEDs.

Yeah I was in the same boat. Then just happened to see someone mention something related to that and I looked it up and lo and behold. I just dont want something to happen to you and your family and then your insurance may find out what caused the fire and then you are SOL.

In hindsight I would have just wired it all behind the wall. It does look a little silly plugging an extension type cord into a working outlet and plugging it into the power bridge. But it is all code compliant and it was simple to wire and install. But this is usually only used for offset outlets like my old house. Your outlet looks to be perfectly placed so you should easily be able to piggyback off of that outlet.
I put my tv on the wall and just passed all the cables through the drywall, it is really easy. the stand itself was like $15 on amazon and I bought a kit that included the cabling in-wall that was up to code so that I wouldn't have a problem with insurance, it's basically two plates one for behind the tv and one next to your power source (behind my console), and you snap on the power cables and it has holes to pass all other cables as well (hdmi, optical, etc you can simply pass through the wall without breaking any codes or regulations).

no visible cables, the little hole in the middle I had to make because of the amount of insulation on the wall, there was no way for me to get the fishing wire all the way through, so I met two of them half way. it was really easy to patch up (Sorry I don't have a pic of the tv in my cell, but I have one of my plant where you can see the tv haha):
