I use this one by Anker and I can't say enough good things about it.

  • It's cheap, reliable, and attractive.
  • The build quality is great superb; it really feels great.
  • It takes advantage of iOS shortcuts and has keys for things like volume, brightness, music, and a home button!
  • It's rechargeable and includes a microUSB cable.
  • It comes in white OR black.
  • It's a full size keyboard while still being super slim and portable.

K750 was great, but it died once I moved to a darker office...

Apple Mini Keyboard is okay-ish, but the best and not-that-expensive I found so far is 2017 Anker Ultra Compact Slim Profile Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard (long name) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PIMIUPW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pldnSite=1

It does not have backlight, but typing feels great on this thing. Much better than the MacBook keyboards old or new and battery life is great. Best part is that it charges via USB, so no need to replace batteries like Apple keyboard.

I tested out my surface book with an anker Bluetooth keyboard for you. It's detached from the base and is working fine. Looks like you're in luck.
