Hey everybody, I'm a new DM and am going to DM my first in-person session soon (have done Roll-20). I wanted my players to have minis for the monsters, but they can be expensive as we all know. I made my own and wanted to share my project.

I bought this game piece set from Amazon and a pack of 1" x 2 5/8" address labels from the store. I printed out my minis using the label template in Word and they stuck right on to the game pieces. Then I trimmed the excess off the top since the labels are longer than the game pieces.

I like this method so far and feel like it gives me nice, stable minis with the potential to last a long time. I'm not a huge fan of the bases that came with the game piece set, and plan to get different ones once I order more of the cardboard pieces. Now I just have to think of what to do with when I need to make large-sized minis.

Let me know what you think or share your own mini creations!

I have a small closet. Right now I have 100 listings and I’m trying to work my way up to 150, so this is just works best for me.

  1. Storage Boxes These are the storage boxes I use. I like them because I can color code. I do one color each for: women, men, accessories, and shoes.

  2. Storage Bags I use these bags to store each article of clothing in. I don’t use the twist ties, I just use a piece of scotch tape (2 for $1 rolls at Dollar Tree) to seal it. You can buy self-sealing plastic bags on Amazon and upaknship (where I get my polymailers). I buy cheap bags because it’s what I send the item in. I’ve also seen resellers on instagram use nicer bags or even just gallon ziplock bags that they number and reuse after the item sells.

  3. XL Storage Bags I get these from Dollar Tree for larger items (purses, denim jackets, etc). They are jumbo/2.5 gallon size.

  4. Inventory Stickers I don’t use these, but I’ve seen them recommended by resellers on instagram. You can also just get Avery labels and hand write the number/letter combo on each. You can give each box a letter then each item a number (i.e. box A, items A001, A002, etc.)

  5. Garment Rack I just got mine this week to add to the mix. I have about 30 items on it right now and no problems with weight distribution or anything. If you get a garment rack make sure it has wheels!!!

Hope this helps. Many resellers have Instagram posts/YouTube videos about their systems that will be better for you if you have a larger closet. This is just works for me.

> 1. You can buy them in bulk on amazon, but I was looking at getting some of these for both my cryptosteel and steely.

> 2. I agree. IMHO these should be stored in a safe place to prevent people from being able to easily access it. It would be nice if someone sold a kit so you can split your key into pieces using something like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shamir%27s_Secret_Sharing.

My tips: buy Post-it label roll and use it to keep track of which line you're on. It made my life a million times easier to just deal with one line at a time, best part about this vs. highlighter tape is that it's solid, I found myself messing up with the highlighter tape because it was transparent and I would ask myself if I was highlighting the line i was working on or if I was working the line ABOVE the tape. Also stitch markers use them, lots and lots! Boo Knits is a great designer, I found her patterns clean, easy to read and quick to execute because of the consiceness of her pattern.

Edit: added label link. Also, what pattern are you working with?

I have a DYMO 450 turbo also and I mainly use 30334 size labels. Both Amazon and Inventory Lab will print this size.
***
>I've seen a lot of people basically taking snapshots on every label from a 30sheet which seems kind of wonky.

If you want to use the Dymo with Amazon directly you need to use Amazon's Scan & Label page. Inventory > Manage FBA Shipments, then near the top of the page look for Scan & Label

It prints out labels for one SKU at a time.

Since Chrome changed, it's a little more difficult but you pick the product you need a label for by scanning it or entering your SKU. Then you can either print it or save it. If you print, the chrome print window opens and you need to play with settings to make sure the label fits.

  1. Select the Dymo printer
  2. More Settings > select paper size. 30334 if you are using that size. If you don't see it, you need to print using system dialog
  3. No margins.

You only need to do this for the first label.

Inventory Lab is a lot easier. You run the printer setup under account settings to choose your label size. Then you choose if you want the label to print automatically when you list an item, or only when you click the print button.

Keep in mind, you are suppose to use removable labels when applying directly to the products. That said, Amazon doesn't follow their own rule here and I've learned that the longer removable labels are on, the less removable they are.

I've used a few label brands.

  • Best quality is the DYMO brand but they are absurdly expensive.
  • For permanent labels, I'm using https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IC8B5VA right now but I also have https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JPPLU32 sitting on the shelf. Both seem to work fine.
  • For removable labels I use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CBAPJ30
  • I also have some 3.5 x 1.125 labels I rarely use on some specific larger items https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001AVNLHC

    ***

As far as printers: I use the Dymo 450 turbo and brother laser https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LZS5EEI/

I use the laser printer for shipping labels mostly but sometimes for product labels if I'm sending like 80 of the same thing.

I spent a lot of time when I started, trying to decide what printer to get. I started with the laser because: 1. I can use it as a regular printer for non-fba stuff, 2. It will print both fnsku and shipping labels, 3. It is really inexpensive.

I added the DYmo later because: 1. I hated all the wasted labels if I wasn't printing a full sheet, 2. I do RA and matching labels from a sheet with 30+ different products is time-consuming, 3. I often need 1 or 2 labels and it was difficult to do on the laser.

I haven't looked in awhile but my dream printer would be a thermal transfer printer that is large enough to print shipping labels as well as fnsku. I just can't justify spending $500 on it.

I started making new labels for my collection a few weeks ago, and it is a bit of a pain. If you're not interested in spending a lot of time and money getting labels perfect, I recommend going to retrogamecases and paying the $5/label there. If you're still interested, here is my process:

There are no good sources for high quality label scans that I know of, so I generally make them myself in photoshop using a heavily modified version of this template. The same guy has a European style template as well, but I cannot vouch for its accuracy. Fortunately there is a good source for cover art, which is the cover project. Generally you can make a decently accurate label using the cover art here. Sometimes you need to fudge around with photoshop to remove logos or other stuff that is sometimes on the cover.

For printing, I use an inkjet printer with high quality glossy sticker paper that I then laminate and cut with a scrap-booking cutting machine. After it is cut I can remove the adhesive backing along with the back layer of laminate, and it looks very close to a real SNES label. This particular sticker paper is very unforgiving, so make sure your sticker is even before touching the cartridge!

If there is anything you would like more detailed information about, let me know and I would be glad to help.

I've never bought a kit. If you have the patience and don't want to spend a lot of money, I would suggest buying a board, label it, and using adhesive postage labels to make the live picks.

For me, talking shit always makes draft night more fun. Make fun of your leaguemates' picks, teams, etc.

You could also make the lowest scoring or last place team from last year wear something embarrassing. A stupid hat, or make them come overdressed (wear a suit and tie).

Drinking games. We always have a drinking game going in one of my drafts, which makes it fun. I'm a Bears fan, so I have to drink every time a bears player is picked (the Raiders fan has to drink when Raiders players are picked up, etc). Finish your drink when you pick your QB/DEF/K. If you have to be reminded it's your pick you have to drink. If everyone agrees you reached on a player you have to drink. (Just make sure you have designated drivers)

Wear jerseys if you have them, anything to make the atmosphere a little better.

Hope some of this helped. I love to see fans that aren't from the US! Feel free to ask if you have any other questions.

Awesome designs.

I see you're using clear labels or watersides though. If you want the bare metal look, and you have a laser printer, I'd do a toner-transfer right on to it. You can even print in colour: https://imgur.com/a/SlmS90z ^That' ^my ^3rd ^pedal. ^it^has^an^LED^now.

I've been using the back of kraft brown labels with surprising results. As a bonus, you can label all your components.

Pandiit and Brady ID both make laser jet self-laminating labels. It takes a bit of effort but an excel column of serial number numbers with a mail merge in word and you have a DIY solution. (Just print each page twice so you have a label for each side)

The biggest pain is creating the label template in word since both companies have their own label software they’d love to sell you, they do not provide much assistance.

I'm a (very, very) small business owner. And by "small" I mean "it's me and the cat, and my honey when I need help". I use these labels for my products (nail polish!) and am struggling to afford more right now.

Also, I like pad Thai and this stuff's awesome.

Regardless of if I win, thank you for your generosity :-)

I bought a Brady BMP21 to do all servers/cabinets etc... For actual wires (copper and fiber) I use panduit printable labels - http://www.amazon.com/Panduit-S100X150YAJ-Label-White-Pack/dp/B006DJ70C8

They are clear wire wraps - we print sequential ID's and they have been amazing. The Brady can also do wire wraps, but I had the panduit labels around and wanted to reuse them. I've used the Brady to label thicker power cables and it was pretty nice.

u/rockababeangelmouse · 2 pointsr/bleachshirts

I'd go for large sized label paper, freezer paper is a lot of work for something that may not even adhere properly. I'm not sure if you can get a bigger size but I'm sure you can make a larger design over multiple sheets if you're using a cutter. If you want something that's reusable, I'd experiment with thin plastic sheets, thin wood sheets and some sort of spray or liquid adhesive that's water soluble. Good luck mate.

Anyone have a full sized thermal printer?

I have one that fits 8.5x11, but I can't seem to find the right labels for it. I want to get full page sticky labels for FBA shipments, and 30 sheets of address labels for FNSKU's but I actually can't find anything that big.

Is my best bet regular thermal paper and put it in one of those sticky clear "bags" that UPS puts on boxes? And then I think I can get address labels for my 4xl but seems tedious to have a giant roll of FNSKU's rather than say, 5 pages.

Edit: these are what I'm referring to:

Full page labels (except for thermal, not inkjet): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MNKMCDZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_5A5IDb6WM9KNV

30 per page labels (again, for thermal): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006B8FZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_VB5IDb5GRKY8Z

Get date labels.

https://www.amazon.com/DayMark-IT111183-Monday-Sunday-Octagonal-Removable/dp/B00KY1NZI4/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1469822215&sr=8-11&keywords=date+labels

Put one of those on the bulk container you make writing the date on the proper day. Make enough for a week at a time, and do FIFO. Clean out your smaller simple syrup bottles (something like this) you use for drinks everyday (don't pour it back in, for the love of god don't do that). Voila, you are now complying with even California health code which is extremely anal.

u/SteveCooksWhenDrunk · 2 pointsr/spicy

I got the blank labels off Amazon. From there you can download a template and print them out however you want them. I've used these labels for everything. And they fit really well over the tops of mason jars.

A quick google of "round clear tape" yields

As pointed out, anyone can buy stickers like that.

If MS wanted to screw you over, they would ensure that console wouldn't have a registration history, but I can't imagine a almost Trillion dollar company trying to screw their customers over refurb'ed Xboxes.
