Oil and acrylic are different. They do different things and one is in no way better than the other. Golden makes an open acrylic with a longer open time that I really enjoy working with, and there are many retarding mediums that you can mix into your paints. Keeping your palette wet is very important as well. When blending it works best to either use many layers of color or work in smaller more manageable areas.
The best thing you can do is experiment and find what products and techniques work best for you.
Amazon has a paint thinner made from citrus that I believe is non toxic. Maybe your mom will let you use this. I know some artists that clean brushes with baby oil but never done it before
Citrus Solvent
There's Turpenoid Natural too
As for liquid white you may be able to try mixing titanium white with some sort of medium. I've used Gamblin solvent free medium before and I like it.
Gamblin
Hope this helps!
The fact that you two went out and accomplished a creative feat is pretty awesome. I think they look great for a first attempt.
If you want to keep going and use acrylics you can purchase acrylic retarder so it won’t dry as fast.
You mean like this stuff? It apparently get recharged by sunlight and can glow for several hours. Doubt it's bright enough to illuminate much, maybe useful for marking where you stored things (like a flashlight) or pathways indoor, save you from stubbing your toes when the power goes out during the night.
I think you're better with a hand crank LED flashlight. I still have mine from college, and it continues to work the same despite spending almost a decade in my drawer.

You mix this shit with clear epoxy and put it where you will. Super bright. Would assume it ended up looking like Elmers glue tinted. Never tried it, but it is how you did glow before trits were such a low price like now.
I got a black Quazar and was not impressed with the finish, so I stripped it. I have seen much nicer black finishes, but in hindsight, who the fuck gets a black spinner ment to be a mirrorball for trits? Dhur. Thank goodness it is plated chrome and copper underneath.
Je-sus it was so obvious, how did I never think of that? You're a gentleman and a scholar sir.
I've been eyeing this pigment powder to add to paint to get some cool effects, I feel like if it works well it would be pretty cool
i use this stuff http://smile.amazon.com/Badger-Air-Brush-Spectra-Tex-Additives-16-Ounce/dp/B00462QCBO?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage and as seen here its pritty shinny http://imgur.com/a/Tz6gh. i know the paint is to thick i am working on my thinning out, however i am dong more hand painting right now. havent posted any shots of the one i hand painted as i am waiting for a character stand for it. hmmm think i will just go shoot in now.
but that thing is very shinny. thanks for giving me some feed back.
I do both. Some colors of wash I just use a LOT. Nuln oil, Reikland Fleshshade, Agrax Earthshade. These are my workhorse washes, and it's frankly just easier to buy the pot.
Other washes I'll make. P3 Blighted Gold makes a great wash over P3 Solid Gold for example. You end up with a slightly green tinged set of armor (it comes up a lot with Circle).
To make a wash I'll take ~2 brush fulls of paint, add 1-2 drops of mixing medium, and then add water till it's pretty thin (skim milk consistence or less). You'll get a feel for it with time, but as a rule better to over-thin than under for a wash.
Well I mean, you could do a wired connection, but that's pretty obvious.
You could paint your outer walls with [electromagnetic field shielding] (http://www.amazon.com/Y-Shield-Shielding-Paint-liter-size/dp/B0025Z8GAY), so they basically would have to be in your home. However, I hope you don't like using your wifi outside.

This stuff works great
Encapsulated glow in the dark powder. It’s amazing.
Neutral Aqua Glow In The Dark Powder (1 Ounce/30 Grams) - 10+ Colors Available https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M04OEU4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_og0ACb1QJ55FM
I've got the test pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GNFSFN9/ though I was left choosing between the white powder that glows a brighter blue or the blue powder that glows a dimmer, bluer blue. Went with the blue so it would look okay in the light.
I'm also going to try https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXJ2W5A/ at some point that I got as it appears to be higher quality.
I have an airbrush for my painting so this is what I use but it doesn't really specify what kind of paint it's for. It's just kinda generic. I know there are always several types of clear coat spray cans right around with the model paints at the craft store but I don't know enough about what makes one different from the next. If you've already tried an enamel spray, I'd assume there's a spray topcoat specifically for acrylics.
Protip: Even with a 40% off coupon Delta Art or DeSerres are still usually still cheaper than Michaels.
For example, Gamblin solvent free gel: $39.99 at michaels (technically US Michaels, Canadian website doesn't list prices), $24.90 on amazon.ca, $20.95 at delta.
Daler-Rowney pearl medium is exactly what you seek! It allows you to turn any paint into pearlescent stuff, and it makes the paint a bit sturdier :)
You can try using mica powder pigment. I recently picked up these and they seem to work well in my experiments. Many color varieties/packs are available and you do not need much to color the resin while maintaining the transparent resin qualities.
From a former college admin:
If you go that route:
Absolutely!
limestone
polyurethane (this was way cheaper at Home Depot)
stain
this is the tutorial I used.
Add this to the epoxy.
Glow in The Dark Pigment Powder - 12g - Neutral and Fluorescent Colors (Neutral Aqua) - 10+ Colors Available https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K0SA5I8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_4N5lDbME3FPB3
paint the walls and ceiling
You can add a paint hardener and throw it away in your regular trash. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074MC6V4L/ref=cm\_sw\_em\_r\_mt\_dp\_U\_ENPxDbSJQVVXT
Secretly go with some RF shielding paint and then complain that you can't get any cell/wireless service in your office.
While active jammers are illegal, Faraday cages aren't.
https://www.amazon.com/Y-Shield-Shielding-Paint-liter-size/dp/B0025Z8GAY
Just do 1 or 2 layers of that paint on the interior walls of the bathrooms, then paint over it with whatever color you want the walls to be.
It'll block 99.95% of the wifi signal going though the walls.
To all the makers out there buying this "Turbo Glow" material from another supplier thus resulting in what I think is an inflated price. Now I could be wrong but all this stuff is, is a mixture of a glow powder
(https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K0DQXD4/ref=twister_B01K0DQTM4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1)
and some type of or something similar to a clear epoxy resin
(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NLPCA5Y/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_8?smid=AWNIMR5FR1N5J&psc=1)
placed into a block mold allowed to harden then cut into sections. The brittle nature of this material is probably dependent on how much powder is used. The more you use the brighter and more brittle it will be.
Now this is just my theory on "Turbo Glow" again I could be wrong. In any case I intend to use this method for future projects of mine, take it or leave it.
