The Soul of Man Under Socialism by Oscar Wilde -- an introduction to libertarian socialism, a foreign topic to most people ("isn't that, like, an oxymoron?") but pretty rewarding and interesting once you get into it.

If you care about current events (and this one is highly important), you can read about what's going on in Rojava, in Northern Syria. To understand the character of what they're doing there and their social revolution you can read Murray Bookchin and Abdullah Ocalan. They've both written a lot but it doesn't take much to understand the gist of their ideas and, more importantly, how they're being applied right now in Rojava. Democratic confederalism is the name of the specific system at work in Rojava.

Books I can recommend that have to do with the above:

A Small Key Can Open A Large Door: Rojava Revolution

Rojava: An Alternative to Imperialism, Nationalism, and Islamism in the Middle East

To Dare Imagining: Rojava Revolution

Revolution in Rojava: Democratic Autonomy and Women's Liberation in Syrian Kurdistan

Most everything on this list

War and Peace in Kurdistan

Democratic Confederalism

Obviously that's a fairly dense list. You don't have to read all those. But I do suggest you at least look into Rojava and the ideology behind it on a basic level, as in my opinion it's one of the most important developments in the world right now and it's fascinating to see the application of democratic confederalism, autonomous self-organization, ethnic and religious plurality, and women's liberation on such an impressive scale.

On the topic of movies, it just so happens that there are a number of Rojava documentaries which might help you gain a basic understanding of what it's like there. You can find plenty by looking up "Rojava documentary". Here's a good one. This is the most recent, I believe.

Good studies!

Let's start with what you're right about. Yes Frenworld has a founding userbase that is tied to 4chan. There's really no hiding this because Apu Apustanja is a meme that emerged out of 4chan culture.

You're also correct that 'fren' doesn't necessarily mean alt right and/or white nationalist. Fren means tolerant, understanding, sympathetic, of white identitarian politics. Indentitarian politics is related to protecting Europeans and European Americans from replacement migration and anti natalism as well as a host of other threats. It is NOT a violent ideology. The naivety and innocence of Apu is attempting to express that. Apu is not trying to subvert and convert children. Apu is really an avatar of white suffering and whites that are starting to commit mass suicide as they become deeply affected by the increasing volume of anti white rhetoric in the news, entertainment and academia. This anti whiteness creates enormous self hate and a lost sense of identity and community. You don't need to embrace a more defined political orientation like the alt right to feel scared and confused about white demographic decline and anti whiteness. This is an excellent book about the topic.

There are also lots of Jewish groups terrified of white demographic decline because whites are keeping Israel afloat and are a major engine of civilized life which Jewish people enjoy very much.

Here's an interesting article about a sub group of jews that support white nationalism.

http://www.amerika.org/politics/interview-with-jonathan-stern/

> Frenler = Hitler

Yes you are correct about this. It's a reference to Hitler or non descriptor pro white leader.

> Nosefren = Jew

Yes this means jew or a deceptive fren.

> Frenworld = r/frenworld sometimes America/alt-right community as a whole

This one varies but again the alt right is only part of the picture. There's a large community of reactionaries, trad Catholics, pagans, neo confederates, ancaps, hoppeans, truthers, they all fall into the what I like to refer to as the 'dissident right'. The alt right is a movement that started around 2011 and attempted to norm on some of the dissident right ideas. The alt right was pioneering in their use of pathos (emotion driven content) as well as art, dress, sub culture to spread their ideas. The alt right doesn't expressly endorse national socialism. Nat socs do operate in the alt right but not everyone who labels themselves alt right believes in national socialism or fascism. The absolute best write up I can give you on the alt right is this one.

https://dailystormer.name/a-normies-guide-to-the-alt-right/

It's getting a bit dated and the alt right has gone through some changes but it's an excellent source of information from one of the core influencers in the alt right. It's important to remember that the alt right is a leaderless movement. Anytime they try to manifest themselves into real political parties they are heavily suppressed by both political parties, media, corporations, silicon valley, churches and antifa.

> Frenostate = Enthnostate

Yes. This is accurate. Keep in mind though very very few in the dissident community want to physically/violently removed non whites to achieve the ethnostate. Here's a good video of an ethnostate proposal.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=At-dSFL4Bs8

Ben Shapiro is probably more radical in his views about removing minority ethnic groups than the alt right.

https://townhall.com/columnists/benshapiro/2003/08/27/transfer-is-not-a-dirty-word-n976781

> Bop = Shoot (occasionally means downvote)

I wouldn't say this means shoot. It just means get out you're not welcome.

> Honk/Honker/Clown = alt-right LGBTQ people.. Maybe..

This is where I wanted to correct you. It took me a while to analyze and figure out what was going on with the clown meme. The clown is mainly three things. First is a mask that alt right/dissident people have to wear. If you believe in race realism, a white ethnostate, anti homosexuality, jewish power, white genocide, it's REALLY difficult to talk to people and make friends IRL so you're forced to basically lie in every interaction you have with people. Lots of people of European origins are high trust people and are uncomfortable lying. Especially men who value direct communication.

The clown is also a symbol for people that have gone through several phases of depression to a weird type of half cope half acceptance. It starts with nihilism, depression, and ends with laughing at the travesty. Clowns try to troll and have fun as society collapses (which is something the fren community dissuades). This is partially related to accelerationism but that's a much more complicated topic that is outside the scope of our discussion. Lastly the clown represents conditioning/indoctrination to be sexually promiscuous to an extreme degree and therefore excepting of the leftist sexual and political agenda. So for example using pornography is participating in clown world. Dating a transexual is participating in clown world. The clown also represents hopelessness.

So you might be wondering where LGBT comes in. Well that's related to clownworld which is a term for immorality, consumerism, and unabashed pro homosexuality prevalent in the modern industrial world. Many within the dissident community crave traditional moral communities. There was a short lived meme campaign called white sharia where the alt right joked about praising and co-opting sharia law because it kept female hypergamy and homosexuality suppressed. Again this was a short lived meme and was not universally embraced.

If you're curious about more of the issues I've discussed here I highly recommend the q and a on this website.

There are also a lot of helpful images that give a more accurate and unbiased understanding of the complicated subgroups and ideas floating around the dissident right ecosystem.

u/Trumpspired · 1 pointr/AskTrumpSupporters

There is no such thing as 'free trade' or 'protectionism'. All trade agreements have a mix of both. For instance copyright is not free trade nor is intellectual property. Preventing dominant monopolies is a good idea but not 'free trade'.

A good balance needs to be struck along with institutions that are able to change with time and world events.

Tariffs do protect US businesses however and have received bad press due to the neoliberal/neocon subversion of the Republican party who have brainwashed people into acting against their own interests.

A good read on free trade/protectionism by Pat Buchanan, Vox Day recently plublished a debate in article format on exactly this topic so you might be able to find some good references in there and use it as a stepping stone for further research.

This is a good article favouring Trump's policies and mentioning other prominent sympathetic people. Richard McCormack one of the authors mentioned in that article wrote a good book exploring the decline of American manufacturing and the effect of free trade

> After consuming my daily provided intake of orange-dusted snacks and Mountain Dew, I always like going online and reading about the true Amerikkkan society that our brainwashing capitalist media doesn't cover (I'm looking at you Faux News). Mr. Kirk, known by his YouTube pen name TheAmazingAtheist, delivers brave insight on the corrupt state of affairs in the United States and the facade that the Christian Right carry over all of our affairs. His message, as encapsulated within this novel, delivers a brave and euphoric message that has indeed proven controversial to the nation. Only these brave media warriors in the blogosphere can say what really goes down in the Western World; it is only with the help of nonreligious middle class white teenage boys that we can hope to educate the masses on how other demographics are the true causes of our problems. As a whole, I am enlightened by this book; not because of some phony critic's blessing, but because of, T.J Kirk's intelligence.

lulz.

> If someone is trying to learn IT or coding, why do they need to take history classes and biology classes and chemistry classes? They don't want or need them and yet they have to take them to qualify for aid. Most people that go to college these days go to obtain skills for a job, not for a well rounded education or to become an professor or educator.

I think this is somewhat anecdotal - they might not "want" to take these courses, but I would argue that the "need" is there. There are significant benefits to a well-rounded education. Skills-based education (IT, Engineering) doesn't really get into learning how to think, in the general sense, which is probably going to be significantly more important as technology becomes obsolete more and more quickly, or as jobs disappear due to things like increased automation.

I'm not arguing that liberal arts should be mandated - some people are autodidacts enough that this sort of learning how to learn would be unnecessary - they will do it on their own. But Fareed Zakaria wrote a book defending the liberal arts education, because there is currently a tendency to devalue things like an English or History degree over a STEM/Business degree, because those taught tangible "skills," instead of wishy-washy liberal arts intangibles.

As for financial aid - I'm split. I found tremendous value in my own liberal arts education, but if someone just wants to learn the core necessities for their career goal and get out, I think that's fine too.

The regional fed banks and the Board of Governors have very different roles, and his KC experience does not make me confident in his competence to be on the Board of Governors.

Regional Federal Reserve Banks are largely responsible for the administrative aspects of the Federal Reserve's role. This includes things like payment systems management, cash management, and at the New York Fed only, open market operations.

The closest role that the regional federal reserves have to the BoG is their research role, and there are a lot of economic researchers at the regional banks, including some who manage great resources like the St. Louis Fed's FRED system.

Being on the board of a regional Federal Reserve bank is a lot like being on the board of a normal medium to large company. As a pizza company executive, Cain would have been reasonably well qualified for that.

It's also important to note that the chairman of the board of a regional federal reserve bank does not actually administer the bank. There is a President of the bank who is the fulltime employee who actually oversees employees. The board is, like a corporate board, a part-time supervisory entity.

The Board of Governors in contrast is a policymaking and regulatory body. They set interest rates based on expectations about future economic activity. and have broad regulatory powers over American banks and money.

They also have the ultimate power through the Open Market Committee of creating and destroying US Dollars, which is how the Fed can control interest rates.

Being on the Board of Governors is not like being on a corporate board. It is a job which should be held by a skilled macroeconomist who deeply understands monetary policy.

Herman Cain is not a macroeconomist.

In a book of his which seems to be out of print and unavailable for purchase he advocates for a gold standard.

A gold standard is widely considered to be an extremely dumb monetary policy. Notably, former Fed Chair (and very much macroeconomist Ben Bernanke) is one of the world's leading experts on the failures of the gold standard. His 1991 paper on the subject is one of the most important monetary policy works in considering the Great Depression, and finds that abolishing the gold standard is closely correlated with ending the depression in different countries.

Cain does not have the qualifications to be a bank regulator or a macroeconomist. The one policy view we know he has expounded in respect to monetary policy is insane. He is deeply, deeply unqualified for this job.

u/robtw · 9 pointsr/newzealand

I read it. It's a short book that disgusts you with every page - these are not the people I want influencing government. I strongly recommend everyone read it - especially National supporters: among other things, it documents an attempt from an extremist right-wing faction to hijack the party and drag it further and further to the extreme.

The media coverage has focussed on juicy "allegations" which do not do the book justice, and give Key single things which he can deny and then make blatantly untrue statements like "Hager's claims are dissolving before his eyes".

If you're not sure that you want to read it, try the free Kindle sample: http://www.amazon.com/Dirty-Politics-poisoning-political-environment-ebook/dp/B00MP7GKZU

You don't have a worthless degree. You have a liberal arts degree. Read In Defense of a Liberal Education if you don't know how to articulate the value of that degree. You should take at least a couple of years to experience the working world, and think about what your next best step is. Nothing is more pathetic than a second year law student who is $100,000 in debt and hates all their classes.

If you want "real world" applications, check out The Voluntary City. Similarly, The Economics of Liberty.

Ron Paul's books are also great introductory pieces; concise & easy to read.

I also recommend the following two shorter, theoretical manuscripts:

Etienne LaBoettie's Politics of Obedience: Discourse on Voluntary Servitude (Free!)

Lysander Spooner's No Treason: The Constitution of No Authority (Free!)

I honestly don't know how she can say this with a straight face. This actually makes me more angry because not only are they unwilling to acknowledge and remedy the issue, they're now also insulting our intelligence. Can someone please send her a copy of this book please?

P.S Where's Leslie Riddoch these days by the way? Is one pro-indy voice one too many? Funny how you don't have a problem inviting Nigel Farage onto the channel!

> "coup", I thought it was a process described at brazilian's constitution

Again: get out of your social networks and go read some fucking books on it because there are plenty of them already.

Here, I can even recommend some of them to you:

A radiografia do golpe

A elite do atraso: da escravidão à lava-jato

O estado pós-democrático

Por que gritamos golpe? Para entender o impeachment e a crise política no Brasil

Now, have a good reading because you have some catch up to do.

EDIT: Oh, and I forgot the very good Brasil em fúria: democracia, política e direito, that was written by brazilian judges and attorneys. It denounces how absurd was the whole process against President Dilma.
