Try using a spa cleaner like Silk Balance Clean Start for a deep clean. It will flush out all the plumbing. Remove all pillows and filters, dump the whole bottle in and run the jets for as long as you can and turn the diverter valves periodically to really flush everything out. Wipe off the scum line, drain the spa and try using a shop vac on all of the jets to really get ALL of the water out, then refill.

I ordered this one off amazon this time last year:

VINGLI Aluminum Solar Swimming Inground Pool Cover Reel Set, Up to 18-Feet Wide x 40-Feet Length https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MDLU2GG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ji0nDbESGKB8Z

Has worked great so far. It was a bit of a pain to put together, but has held together well. Even the straps all stick still, even after falling into the pool during high winds! It’s easy to wind up as long as you do it slowly so it rolls evenly. Keeps the pool much warmer and noticeably stops evaporation.

Shock Alert

This is pretty much exactly what you’re talking about. We have two of these at the marina I work at and they work pretty well although they do wear out after a couple of years however we use ours to test every boat in the harbour I’d imagine just for personal use they’d probably last a lot longer.

Something like this?

UOTOO Tap Lights, Wireless Stick on Push Lights, Battery Powered Led Click Touch Light for Closet, Cabinet, Trunk, White Light 8-Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06X1FVXR9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_YPKLBbRCR6HVD ?

Actually you might be able to use something like - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072JS9NP2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_QQKLBb6YA6WVF - and Velcro it to your shower curtain or stick it in a clear bag and hang it from the curtain rod if you are feeling lazy. Like I normally am.

Ah, Cheers for this sorry for the late reply, I found this and hopefully it should fit my needs well. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004BM749S/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ARMMSTNREKUG7

Event lighting designer here. I purchased a few remote controlled LED balls for commercial use, ended up with them being at my home. They work especially well in late evenings, with combination that they are dimmable, the lights can get very unintrusive and relaxing especially with the right color combo. My top ones - all blue/few cyan few orange/few magenta few orange

u/humanasfck · 4 pointsr/BecomingTheIceman

Very cool man!

I made one of these years ago; a couple suggestions:

  • Adding a temperature controlled outlet plugin you can put the probe in the water and set a specific temp that you always want the tub to be at to bypass the freezer's desire to always... ya, know... freeze.
  • If it begins to leak, you can add a pool liner inside for an easy way to line/seal it.
u/Pool_Guy · 1 pointr/swimmingpools

You will need at least 1.5 times the surface area of your pool in panels on your roof. Expect to upgrade the pump, and as another poster stated, You must install an automated valve that will only send water to the collector when the roof temp is greater than the water. Remember, a solar collector is a heat exchanger and works both ways. My advice is to pay to have it professionally installed. The heat is free after the initial install. It WILL pay for itself, unlike gas/electric that turn a commodity into heat.

That is what I recommend for a control unit if you are going to do this DIY

u/cfalino · 2 pointsr/swimmingpools

I believe you can use this
http://www.amazon.com/Hayward-SP0710XALL-Pro-Series-Vari-Flo-Side-Mount/dp/B002EL3Z4Q

its a little bit of work but will save you the filter. If I'm thinking of the right multiport, the one you have gave you the handle assy and two bulkhead fittings. The rest was really up to the installer - it wasn't particular to the filter. The one i mentioned a second ago allows you to use either the existing or new bulkhead fittings, you'll just need to get a few male adapters and some plugs to match everything else up

Edit: also, why does this need to be replaced? If you need the gasket, its a little bit smaller than the spx710d but you can get it. Just needs a little bit of looking for

u/flaz · 4 pointsr/guns

Confirming the steam on the metal parts. I used this one from Amazon for $25. Worked fantastic. Didn't take long. Blast with steam, wipe away excess white stuff with paper towels.

u/arik12 · 2 pointsr/homeautomation

I used two Intermatic PE24VA Valve Actuators. Thinking adding third one to pool floor cleaner line so I can wide open it during cleaning cycles.

Sure I can share my nodered flows.

u/TehSpaz · 2 pointsr/pools

If it drains while running install this in the valve with the actuator that says JVA-24 on the white/gray logo. All you need is a big Phillips screwdriver and some lube for the orings.

If it drains while off, do the same to the valve under the actuator that is all black as well. These are the two main points that separate pool pipes from spa pipes.

If the spa drains while the pump is off in pool mode, install this in the clear valve at the bottom right of your pic.

That would be fabulous, because an OEM is running upwards of $750 with a 3 year warranty right now. What gives me pause is this: https://www.amazon.com/BLUE-WORKS-T-15-Cell-Compatible-Pro-Rated/dp/B07MZ1P4HH/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=t-15+cell&qid=1565241217&s=gateway&sr=8-3

"Our BLT cell is compatible with .... 4.2 or newer Aqua Logic systems." I think my mainboard firmware is at 2.6x. Unless it is referencing something else?

u/CaptainMcSmoky · 1 pointr/whatisthisthing

It's a warming rack for the top of a toaster, like this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00LA5XJJ8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_9WA7BbNW3FNJA

u/GlorifiedCabanaBoy · 1 pointr/pools

That's actually a broken "vac lock" used for vacuum ports on the side of pools (Hayward W400BWHP White Free Rotation Vacuum Lock Safety Wall Fitting Replacement for Hayward Navigator Pool Cleaners https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004VU8O5I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_CVwiDb6N4GWWY).

Its just threaded into the base of the skimmer. It really has no place being in there. My best guess is that the previous owner put it in there to try and stop the hose from popping out when the pump shut off

u/javaavril · 1 pointr/HomeImprovement

It's fiberglass, so look up fiberglass repair on youtube or use epoxy. Mohawk makes good colored epoxy putty for color matching and then do a sealant coat of gel or a paste way. That could maybe get you a few years of use before needing to fully replace.

Also, if you don't GAF how it looks? you can peel and stick patch it https://www.amazon.com/Stick-Repair-Cracked-Bathtub-Skylight/dp/B007VD7OBW/ref=pd_day0_hl_263_4/139-7960308-9390664?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B007VD7OBW&pd_rd_r=055f83c1-34ad-4e9f-85cf-5eacda8e1584&pd_rd_w=Mbnua&pd_rd_wg=3HAry&pf_rd_p=ad07871c-e646-4161-82c7-5ed0d4c85b07&pf_rd_r=S89ZNRAYGZH9VTB3EP0E&psc=1&refRID=S89ZNRAYGZH9VTB3EP0E

Heylo!

I"m getting one of these pools:
http://www.intexcorp.com/28167eh.html?

I am going to put it on a concrete driveway. This is a new concrete driveway that was installed on the back end of my reverse ranch home last summer and the slope is intentional and there only to move water away from garage doors.

Here is a photo of where it is going to be set:
http://imgur.com/eNRa2FE

I would like ideas for ways to level the surface. I know sand is the usual method for leveling pools... I am thinking about using sand, and to keep it contained, put pavers all around pool to trap the sand.

I've also thought about using carpet remnants/rugs from thrift store or something.

I wonder if it possible to put an equal sloped platfom of some sort on the half side of the area that will be lower.... so it is kind of like a big wide V.

Additional information:

  1. I am going to buy a pad, probably this:
    http://www.amazon.com/Splash-Net-Express-Gorilla-Pad/dp/B004SPR66Y

  2. I am not necessarily lazy, but I want a simple way to do this...

  3. No, I don't drive vehicles back there.

    Thanks!

I wouldn't fully drain without seeing the pool - is it partially buried? As for how to drain, these work well but take long:
https://www.amazon.com/Aquatix-Pro-Ground-Drainer-16-Feet/dp/B01FI128PA/

Draining a pool that is like 5-10,000 gallons you'll need something with a submersible pump. But, I am fully against draining an above ground pool. All that does is invite more problems than it solves.
