For one, it's popped the "regular way" and the butter flavor is likely different. Even though it's super unhealthy, buy microwave popcorn with "movie theater butter flavor", and that should taste more similar.

On a related note, I use an air-popper (I use the #1 Best-Seller on Amazon) and I love it. It is much cheaper in the long run. The downside though is you have to apply butter/olive oil/coconut oil/peanut oil and salt after the fact, which takes some added time. Stove popping is also good, but I don't want to deal with cleaning a pot every time I make popcorn. I use extra virgin olive oil because it's healthier and it still tastes good (different type of taste than movie theater butter flavor, but still good). If you want to air-pop and want "movie theater flavor", you can buy Orville Redenbacher's Buttery Popping/Topping Oil.

Another one for the 230s club! We had a random thread where about 7 people all realized we started this year in the 230s. Most of us are down about 15 pounds since using CICO.

You can do it buddy. Try not to starve yourself too much at first because your body will be adjusting to the new diet for abut a week. Load up on low calorie snacks that can help you stay full without blowing your diet.

These are the favorites. I'd choose 2-3. Avoid things like macnuts or chocolate macnut etc. Most of that is all tourist made stuff. Don't get me wrong everyone like's macnut, but they want it from aunties yard.

Most of the pieces were lightly covered with (mostly) dry marshmallow goo, like caramel popcorn. And there was a hint of salt.

Not actually kernel-less popcorn (obvi), but there is popcorn that is considered hulless. You get everything you love about popcorn without having it get stuck in your teeth or cutting your gums!

When I got sober, I started a new routine of tea and popcorn every night when I settled into bed, which I still do to this day (night). Nowadays (nights), my popcorn of choice is Lime and Salt. Sounds weird, but it is sooooo yummy.

Thanks for the recommendation. I just like air poppers because it's so convenient though. No need to wash anything after you pop, just empty the unpopped kernels and done. I will certainly try Orvilles. Can you confirm if this is the one?

You only need a little bit of salt at a time, so that'll last you years. I like the Orville popcorn topping, but couldn't find it cheap on Amazon. Anyways, this is a good set so you don't have gallons of stuff in your house, but still get authentic movie theater taste.

I used one of these back in high school, when I ran then Sno-Cone/Popcorn stand at the local minor league baseball stadium. The popcorn is pretty damn good.

I start with this, pour in this and this, add the popcorn, cook, then finish it with some melted butter.

It is hard to go back to microwave popcorn.

Below you mention how much you're willing to spend on cookies from girl scouts. You describe the $5 GS cookies as having a 66% markup over what you consider to be an acceptable price ($3).

Cracker Jacks go for $0.68 per ounce on Amazon. 18 oz would then be $12.24.

A 66% markup on $12 is $20. By your own logic, this is an acceptable price — and in fact you got a deal.

I understand you feel embarrassed that you feel you paid too much. But don't take it out on the scouts.

Just this and this with a little salt is all you need. Splash in a little of this with regular oil of your choice for buttery goodness.

Its at most grocery stores. Get a tub of kernels that will be right next to it and use a forced air popper. Add oil and salt once popped.
