I got this one off amazon a while back for $15. I haven't put it in yet, but I like the Y-connectors that let me tie into my receiver for directional indicators.

If you search "rc car lights" on Amazon, there are a great many to choose from.

ahhh, see i'm running a 4-1 pdb.

ya they are really nice even with out the leds if you have a 4-1.

I just installed these on my freestyle quad.

they are to long for the racing drones i have and was trying to find a shorter one with leds's

Thanks! I used this panel from Amazon. along with a 3d printed spacer thats the same profile as the panel bezel so that it would protrude a bit from the console (I can provide the file if you want). I drilled a hole for the LED. Then wire the battery to the switches, and the switches to the panel/LED.

Sorry, I'm new to this. What did you mean by "wire it in"? Are there other options besides going to the battery directly?

Its pretty simple. All you need is a decent place to drill a couple holes, whether it is on your chassis or your body it doesn't really matter and a spare channel on your receiver.

this is what I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013SSO70Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I found an RC switch that seems like it would work for simple on off scenarios for my brand of transmitter and receiver (the exact ones are pictures here) Apex RC Products RC Remote Electronic AUX Channel On/Off Switch #9025 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BKSGW3D

However, this is a simple on/off switch. I need a switch that can take voltage and a signal and output zero voltage, or left+right-, or left-right+ voltage. Is that what a relay does?

How does a servo recognize each input(neutral, left, right) as distinct?

Light Kit

Mine is just off of Amazon. Has a few different settings and comes with 4 colors. For the cost, its worth it.

Use a spare receiver port for power, I use cords from dead servos all the time. Ignore the white/yellow wire. The other 2 are plus and minus for power.

Get some LEDs, I recommend getting warm white instead of white, white LEDs are actually blue.

Use an online LED resistor calculator to determine what value resistor you need to put on each LED.

Use some 2-stand wire, preferably red and black for plus and minus, and solder a wire to each LED.
Keep in mind that LEDs have a plus and minus side, the flat side on round LEDs is the minus. It doesn't matter on which side you put the resistor.

Connect all red wires to the red servo wire, and black to black.

Plug into receiver, done.

To make it extra nice get some heat shrink tubing to finish the solder joints.

This is what you're basically looking to recreate:

You can get LED sets like that online for $10 all day but they contain just a few bucks in parts.

That cop needs to get a tiny red and blue lightbar for his helmet!

For Reset1/ Reset2 and Power1 / Power2 you just cut one wire from each switch and connect that to the relay. Example only interrupt ONE wire from the power switch.

I used this in place of SW1A https://www.amazon.com/Ignition-Switch-Electric-Scooter-Bicycle/dp/B018XOMG8S/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1468030514&sr=8-6&keywords=Scooter+key

Instead of a single relay I used two of these https://www.amazon.com/uxcell%C2%AE-240VAC-125VAC-28VDC-JQC-3F/dp/B008SO6BDK/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1468030591&sr=8-8&keywords=relay

and D1 is one of these https://www.amazon.com/uxcell%C2%AE-Copper-Emitting-Holder-Display/dp/B00P3FMGP4/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1468030559&sr=8-4&keywords=LED+panel+mount

My current setup doesn't use +5v it actually uses a 3v Battery pack (two AAAs). But if you can find where to pull power from you should be able to get +5v so long as PSU is plugged in. I was just lazy when I built this.
