> Exactly! Getting plastic surgery means you have earned the privilege to cosplay as Blanka. :o
Oh shit, what if I got plastic surgery muscles so I could look like Blanka, that would be tight.
> idk probably not unless you count the pilot as an organic part of the mech. D:
I imagine they only become the mech after having an inspirational speech about becoming one with your mech.
> I didn't even think of it when I was watching Eva. D:
You will now? :o
> Oh okay, I see what you mean. I think I need to rewatch this series again since it's been so long. @@
> Apparently Gurren Lagann + the movies got released on BD recently so I'm gonna try to watch both movies this weekend. :o
Have fun with your legally detained $600 BD box. :o
Also I could have sworn you watched both movies already? I must be mistaken.
> Maybe it would have never even got an anime adaptation because the english translation was so flawless and perfect. :O
That is true, I imagine english translations of VN's effect that market substantially probably. < >
> If Looney Tunes taught me anything it's an alligator pit. :o
But that's okay because you'll just fly out of it the instant they bite you.
> Apparently they're paying the fan translators to use their translation and are planning on releasing it this winter. So I guess there's not much wasted time translating something that's already done then. o-o
That's kind of weird, that reminds me that for a time Crunchy roll when they first started used other peoples translations and crunchy roll got money for it.
Yeah that's the 10th anniversary set I believe and the original one was bluray but it has some DVDs and cd's for some of the other special features (it had everything in it, drama cd's, parallel works, osts, etc)

how much did u pay? please don't tell me $500. still worth it if u did.
I know which box set you're talking about, not THE box set. I got this one from an Australian website since it was the cheapest option to own the show. It was even on sale at the time, $85 USD. The Blu Rays are in region C though, buy I just have a Blu Ray drive in my desktop so I can bypass region restrictions. Otherwise you need a Blu Ray player that is either region-free or region C.
Being a Gurren Lagann fan is truly suffering.
The Aniplex boxset bluray is better though $700 is expensive.

DVD have several problems. The UK and AU bluray uses DVD material though.

Not sure if the aniplexusa bluray 5 disc seasons have the same problem if anyone knows?
Well, I think the most I've ever spent on an individual item is $800 for Maison Ikkoku DVD volume 8.
However, that's not the same as other items going up in price and in general I'm pretty bad at tracking those. I do see Dragon Ball Z Dragon Box 7 has a listing for $800. Maybe the Cardcaptor Sakura L.E. blu-ray is similar?
I suspect those are higher in price than any individual Japanese set in the collection. Especially since cheaper US releases have occurred for most of those. Although the only US listing for the Japanese Gurren Lagann Blu-ray set is a bit up there at $700... granted I'd take it with a grain of salt because the Amazon Japan page has an offer around $580.
But mostly whenever I think of something that might have become rare and might still be sought after I'm just not finding any listings so can't really compare value.
Don't get your hopes up for the Blu-Ray being a reasonable price then
