Okay, this is definitely the contest for me to enter. I love scarves!! Fantastic idea! =D

I recently found this super cool fair isle scarf! I love fair isle patterns, I love scarves- it's perfect! Plus, it's a cozy scarf. As much as I like my fluffy, lightweight scarves, it's gettin' a bit cooler 'round these parts, and I could really use a warm and fuzzy scarf. =)

Girl you’ll be surprised what thrift stores have! Found a black sheer kimono, and some super cute fun silky slip dresses from the intimates section! Look for belts/scarfs to accessorize with too! We are so close to the fest that it might be the best chance. Plus when you get something thrifted it’s a good chance nobody is going to have what u are wearing !!

Just make sure you’re wearing comfy shoes - your outfits can be new and fun and crazy but make sure you’ve got comfy shoes. I usually rock my doc martens that are broken in and hella comfy! Perfect with each outfit!

This is super awesome, but not really WL worthy due to the impracticality of buying masks online.

I suppose I'll go with this scarf for the cold winter, although it might be more fashionable, and less of a practical warm scarf. Its on my gf's list, what do I know? :p

Also, have you checked out the Aqua Lung Slingshot fins? I love them, they are for sure my favorite fins I've owned, the power you can put out is incredible. I know they're a bit pricey, especially for random WL items, but thought I'd mention them for fun. How awesome is Costa Rica? It's been awhile since I was there, but I loved it. I spent 1.5 years living in The Bahamas and then moved back to Canada, so I really understand those feels :p

Seconding the buff idea! I have seen many shorter curlies saying they have success with satin bonnets, or a satin scarf, as well.

I got this bonnet from amazon that stays on pretty well. And it's a fun color so I feel better about wearing it around the house sometimes. Hehe. There were lots of other options on amazon and I have heard of people finding them at CVS/Walgreen's as well.

This scarf honestly stays on the best after I learned how to tie it from this video on YouTube where the gal was really excited about her scarf staying on overnight. I had to watch it a couple times to follow what she was doing, but now that I've got it, I see why she is so happy with it. Lol.

If you want to go the conservative business route, a rectangular wool or wool-blend scarf is your best bet rather than something like a blanket scarf. For colors, you can never go wrong with gray, camel, taupe, navy, black, and burgundy (probably ivory as well, but I see less of those in the business setting). I agree with the other poster that jewel tones are also great, but less traditionally business formal/conservative depending on how casual your sister's workplace is. More conservative patterns would be some variation of plaid/tartan/check/windowpane, houndstooth, or herringbone if you're not a fan of solid colors.

For lighter or more feminine scarves, you could do something like a pashmina as well. The cheap ones are usually made of acrylic rather than silk or wool/cashmere (no matter what the label says!), but I think they work well for warmth either way.

I nominate my mom, because she gave up her potential career in writing to provide me with an easier life. My parents immigrated to the USA from Korea when I was born, and with little to no opportunities to apply her Korean writing skills, she worked manual labor jobs for long hours. If they had stayed in Korea, I would have been subject to the extremely stressful Korean education system (all work and no play).

I rarely saw her throughout my childhood due to her working long hours, but somehow, she managed to develop and maintain a strong relationship with me. My parents are still together, but my father moved to Korea about four years ago to find a job and "work", but as he lays about mooching off his parents, my mom applies all her efforts to improve her English skills and pursue a job in the health insurance industry. She has passed all her required tests, tests that many people with native English skills often fail. She juggles her studies, work, and house chores very efficiently. However, I am probably most thankful for her support of my own goals in life, never forcing me to do anything and always encouraging me through hard times. She is the most determined and hard-working person I know. She works so hard to support the family, but never buys anything for herself. About 3/4 of her wardrobe consists of clearance items under $5, when she deserves so much better.

She loves clothing and fashion, and the last time I asked her what she wanted, she said she needed a beige scarf.

That's an example of one. Not sure where you are but in the US where I'm at, they are $15 at Target. You however could spent $150 at Nordstroms or somewhere else high end on a cashmere one. Just depends what you want.

If you are looking to stay away from cardigans but need something warm, a nice scarf/pashmina has never let me down. I've worn one to many parties and weddings and it comes in handy if sitting at the table your arms are fine but your legs are cold (yes i've used mine as a blanket on my legs before).

You could also hit up a local flower shop, or maybe if a relative/friend would let you pick some flowers from their garden, you could make a braid crown in your hair, leave some hair tendrils down for the ethereal effect, and just weave the real flowers (and maybe some lacy ribbons?) into your hair.

Shoes similar to this would be perfect I think! If you have any discount shoe stores near you, like the ones in the mall, you might be able to catch them on discount around this time. If you don't want to splurge on shoes, you could easily turn a pair of your sandals into a shoes like this by just tying some similar colored ribbon in a criss-cross pattern around your ankle and up your leg.

I also feel something like This would be super cute, especially if you didn't want to wear clothing that shows a lot of skin.

Maxi and/or wrap dress with a large gauzy scarf/shawl (I got this one a while ago and I like its versatility). Bonus points for tropical floral print anywhere. Nice sandals that are sand-friendly. Frye has sandals with solid construction that secure the shoe at your toe and ankle/heel, and their leather is very soft and comfortable. Fun jewelry—big geometric bright colors could work in a cool way with a muted tropical-floral print. Bangle-style bracelets, big earrings. E: a cool jumpsuit/romper could also work here if it’s your kind of thing.

Heres a lil scarf, dont have a big dressy wardrobe, so this can dress up my plain tshirts n tops.

For our family Christmas party, I'm wearing these in plaid, with a black long sleeved shirt that has a slight turtleneck (enough fabric to have a turtleneck, but it doesn't fold over or anything, if that makes sense!), and black flats that look like these, except they're patent leather, and have a slightly taller heel. I'm going for a very "Grace Kelley does 2018 Christmas" vibe!

My family is also going to New York City on December 8th, but I have no clue what to wear! I'm sure just the regular old sweater and boots combo, but we'll see. I also have no clue what I'm wearing for Christmas yet, either! On December 15th, I'm going to see a play in the Capital Region, and I'm planning on wearing a cape that looks like this, though without the hood, and my brown oxford pumps.

For Thanksgiving, I'm undecided, but I think I'm going for a very 1940s Ivy League vibe, so I might wear a cable knit sweater, a neck scarf, and oxfords. I have so many options, though, but I still have time!

Sadly, my work place has a party, but it's not fancy by any means, and I'm single, so I have no other company parties to go to. I wish I had somewhere to wear a gorgeous dress, but alas, it won't happen this year!

Seriously though, if you blow dry it the faux fur puffs up and looks great! :) happy wedding! And rustic and fur could work. You could incorporate into decor if you wanted. Fur was essential in rustic times. 😁

My Grandma has elephants all over her house, and I don't think anybody really knows why. We just go with it. She's got tiny figurines, mid-sized wooden elephants, some ceramic elephants ... they're literally all over her place. It's great.

So why not change it up a bit with an elephant scarf?

I don't have any photos of her unfortunately - since I moved out of my Mom's house I don't have photos of anyone except myself and my boyfriend, really. But let me tell you - she's just over five feet, adorable, and will probably be holding a knife when you introduce her to your friends. (For no particular reason other than she's always cooking something).
