Definitely in agreement with the consensus so far: go with fresh, blade-ground. For a more consistent ground size, keep a sugar sifter at work and sift out the super fine pieces.

Well... you could go for something slightly refined - or perhaps something fun but functional...
or something alittle more unusual or failing that you could 'turn' your sugar into something 100 times better ;) ...see what I did there ;)

All these are on my wish list now! - the Sugar one :)

Oh and as for sugar-related quotes... I do like this one:

“If there are no spots on a sugar cube then I’ve just put a dice in my tea.”

Instead of free feeding her a big bowl, just put out the measured minimum amount listed on the package for her age & weight. This is healthier for her than just allowing her to eat as much as she wants, whenever she wants, and wastes less kibble.

I also only leave remnants in my cat's bowls for about two days. The oils in the food can start to turn and the kibble goes stale. Cats are very scent oriented animals, and as the kibble goes stale, it doesn't smell as appealing, so she doesn't want it anymore. As far as if it goes "bad", I'm not really sure what that time frame would be. I would guess it can vary from brand to brand and depend on the specific ingredient blend.

As for keeping it fresher, longer, I put mine into a clear plastic jug similar to this one and measure it out from there.

I've been to several coffee shops where the sugar is in a glass jar with a small pour hole on top. Since several commercial establishments use them, I would assume they're hygienic.

Could you get a few of them and label them sugar, Splenda, etc.

Here's the jars that I am talking about.

this is a poor container for sugar for exactly this reason. just get a normal pouring container, otherwise this will probably keep happening.

Maybe this will help, describe what I'm trying to do.

This item will dispense sugar/salt in 1 or 1/2 tblsp increments. For example if i need 2 grams of potassium citrate and that happens to be 1 tblsp per gram then i simply push the button twice...

The old man is snoring!

We are supposed to be getting a ton of snow here this weekend. Since I am going to be laying on the couch all day, I'm going to need some sugar for all of the coffee I'll be drinking!

We just got a Sugar Pourer. Now no spoon to wash, no cunt getting shit in the sugar, and no more ants.

I understand that a shitty little sugar bowl and under-sized spoon is a British tradition, but one me may want to upend.
