Other commenters have already given you loads of good advice so I’ll try not to duplicate what’s already been said.

I’m a woman who sweats more than average, even when not exercising. I find that shaving my armpits every day or two helps prevent my armpits from stinking, and every day after I shower I apply some “clinical strength” antiperspirant/deodorant (I like Secret Clinical Strength Invisible Solid, but there are a variety of brands that offer clinical strength varieties).

I try to wash my bras at least once a month but I’ve got 5 or 6 that I regularly rotate, and you may need to wash yours more often. The easiest way to wash your bras is by putting them in a lingerie bag and then putting that in your washing machine on the delicate setting. You should be able to wash your bras with other similar-colored clothing and be sure to use laundry detergent. When the bras are done washing, hang them up to air dry — drying them in the dryer will kill the elastic pretty quickly.

Even though you’ve gotten a bunch of perfumes and other scented products as gifts, my advice is to start slowly with the scents, in particular perfumes. It can be easy to go a bit overboard when applying perfumes or other scented products and pretty soon everyone can smell you from 10 feet away, and it’s not great to smell like you’ve bathed in perfume. (Ideally another person should be able to smell whatever scent you’re wearing only if they are standing very close to you, it should be subtle.) So start out with your basic hygiene (daily shower or bath, washing your hair, brushing your teeth twice daily, wearing clean clothes every day, using deodorant/antiperspirant) and then if you’d like, add some perfume or scented lotion. It might help to ask a friend for advice on whether you’re wearing the right amount of perfume or if it’s too much.

Finally, if you try all these tips and people still say that you smell bad, you should make an appointment to see your doctor. In rare cases someone smells bad because they have an underlying medical problem. Good luck to you!

Hello! I'm pretty late in replying to this, but I've got hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and can relate a lot.

-Deodorant: I recommend Mitchum Clinical Soft Solid in Powder Fresh https://www.amazon.com/Mitchum-Clinical-Solid-Powder-Deodorant/dp/B0105U8WZO/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1538482174&sr=8-3&keywords=mitchum+soft+solid+powder+fresh It's the only deodorant I've found that helps reduce sweating (swipe it on the underboob to help there too!) and keeps you smelling fresh all day. It comes in a 1.6 oz size that I find can last me a month with once a day usage.

-Exfoliation!!! Get yourself an exfoliating glove and use it every few days to exfoliate under your arm pits and around your bra line. This makes a huge difference for me in how smelly I get. I can get a few days of (rotating) use out of each bra if I'm regularly exfoliating.

-Give in and wear a lot of black and white. They show sweat less. That or go with patterned stuff that disguises your sweat patches. It helps if you have stuff that's really breathable and dries well; linen, loose-weave cotton, wool, and even some polyesters will do the trick. Try it on your body. If it feels too warm at home or in the dressing room, you're going to sweat like hell out in public. Even better, bring a small water bottle into the dressing room with you and flick a few droplets on the fabric and see how much the sweat shows. Some things I sweat a lot in but you can't tell at all. Some things I barely sweat in and you can see from a mile away.

-Try to figure out sweating triggers. I know caffeine makes me sweat more, so if I've got something I need to look put-together for, I'll skip the coffee that morning.

I don't know why but the "clinical strength" deodorants rarely work for me.

This one does however. It's another Mitchum women's deodorant and the link has my favorite scent. The next morning I'll still smell pretty okay too!

Here's my runner up: It's a nice deodorant for the weekends. It works, but not quite as well as the Mitchum. However, it changes things up and keeps my body from getting too used to my favorite one... I think!

u/justarandomcommenter · 3 pointsr/raisedbyborderlines

For my husband, switching him over to a properly licensed, actually secular therapist has helped the most. Second to that has been to switch him to using a "female clear dry antiperspirant" (right now he's using Ban, and it's working quite well.

I also learned a "trick" during my wedding left year from my tailor in Dallas... For any shirts that have the potential to cause wet armpits, any type of cotton/poly-blend, or even suits: before putting them on, spray them with an antiperspirant aerosol like this one. Those little guys are miracle workers!

Hope this works at well for you guys as it does for us! Good luck!!!

u/justiceT · 2 pointsr/lifehacks

end your hot showers with about 2 mins of Cold water, the colder the better, you will get used to it over time. This has worked for me and I've had hyperhidrosis for over 10 years, finally somewhat under control.

Also, I've tried all the items mentioned here and they all stink or burn. If you can deal with that, then it's OK, but I find it hard to go to sleep with them on. This is the best I've used so far. No burn or foul odor. Good Luck! :)

u/ScumbagSpruce · 1 pointr/AskMen

My favorite

Its woman's but my football coach got me started on it. Only deodorant that works and doesnt irritate me. Seriously strong stuff. Try it out. The best scent is paradise winds if you can find it.

u/Hyacathusarullistad · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

I tried all those too, and none of them seemed to cut it. But with Old Spice, I don't even need the sport stuff; the basic scents work really well for me. My favourite is Amber. It smells amazing; my wife (and my female coworkers -- but don't tell my wife! :P) likes it a lot, and it manages to keep me dry and fresh literally all day -- the "24 hours" thing holds true in my experience.

At $5 a stick, it can't hurt to give it a shot if you ask me. Great stuff.

[Secret Clinical Strength Deodorant and Antiperspirant for Women, Clear Gel, Completely Clean, 2.6 Oz.] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HF3XTUS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_rUlMDbTH3EEKF) is my favorite. It applies clear and dries p quickly. When it dries you can even run your hands over the area so I doubt it'll stain any clothes. It also smells good. I can't stand that powdery smell of some deodorants.

u/rockonrn · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I submit for your consideration this

Because, she is the keeper of secrets and she is FLAWLESS and I'm pretty sure she smells good, tho I've yet to have the pleasure of sniffing her pits.

Happy Birthday /u/Sp3cia1K!

u/lunchbawx · 2 pointsr/TwoXChromosomes

I have really bad BO (thanks Dad!) and I recently found Dove Clinical Protection anti-perspirant. It's super strong but doesn't stain your clothes or give you chalky armpits.
The tube says it works for 48 hours but I give my underarms a good scrub in the shower and reapply it every day. It is AMAZING and I haven't smelled anything gross for months.

u/Nausved · 0 pointsr/explainlikeimfive

Interesting. I am a woman, and I find Old Spice to smell absolutely foul. I'm very sensitive to scented products and find most of them unpleasant, but Old Spice's range is particularly intolerable to me.

If I were to instruct men to wear any particular scented product for my smelling pleasure, it would be Arm & Hammer's "Victory" by a long shot.

However, I think the safest thing to do is go with unscented, because it's the only sure way not to sicken random people around you.

u/finewhitelady · 1 pointr/ABraThatFits

I know this is unsolicited and probably TMI, but I'll share my antiperspirant/deodorant regimen with you in case you want to try something new. I used to have a huge problem with excessive sweating leading to pit stains and stinky tops. I had tried all the "clinical strength" ones (Secret, Degree, etc.) and they didn't make a dent in my sweating, although admittedly I haven't tried prescriptions. Here's what I switched to after some extensive Googling:

-Certain Dri 2-3x/week. This stuff is incredible. You only have to use 1-2 swipes on each armpit and it keeps you dry for days. Use it at night because it will make you itch like crazy, and don't use it right after shaving because the irritation will be worse. For me a little irritation is a very small price to pay for dry arms. The caveat is that it's only an antiperspirant, not a deodorant, so you'll need another product if you want good smells and not just lack of sweat stank. Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Certain-Dri-Anti-Perspirant-Roll-On-1-2/dp/B000052X8R

-Mitchum for Women. Costs like $4, usually hidden on the bottom rack at Target with the other cheap brands. It just works for me much more effectively than any of the other brands, and I've tried virtually all of them. I use this every day in addition to the less frequent Certain Dri. Here's the one I use - I'm not crazy about the scent, but I prefer the solid over the gel, and this was the only option for the solid at Target: http://www.amazon.com/Lady-Mitchum-Womens-Advanced-Control/dp/B004CESVGA/ref=sr_1_4?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1413092064&sr=1-4&keywords=mitchum+women

Now it's virtually gone. I haven't noticed any long-lasting marks on my bras or clothes either.

u/dat_ninja · 2 pointsr/fuckingmanly

Here's the stuff that I use.

Iron Heritage Original Iron Oil - I use it on my face and in my beard to keep everything from drying out. I use this as both a moisturizer as well as a beard oil. Being based mostly from coconut oil it has a very neutral odor that I'm confident no one would find offensive.

Iron Heritage Tin Lizzy/Model-T - I love this stuff. I love it so hard. It smells so good and the scent, for me, lasts a really long time. Smells like vanilla and tobacco. I would have sex with this smell if I could.

Every Man Jack Cedarwood Body Wash - My nose doesn't work well, but my girlfriend says she can still smell this on me at the end of the day.

Every Man Jack Cedarwood Deodorant - I used to use this. Girlfriend likes it. Confession: I don't anymore because now I use...

Mitchum Advanced Control - I use this because it allows me to use cologne that has a scent that will stick around much longer and smell much better than deodarant does, and I'm not left with conflicting smells between the cologne and deodarant.

Check out /r/fragrance for cologne ideas.

Ok, here is some advice since it seems like maybe you are close, but don't quite get the hygiene thing. First, piercings/tattoos aren't a turn off to chicks, they are a turn on. I'm not big into them, but women don't think you're dirty for having them.

Second, in my opinion, and a lot of other PUA's, a little stubble, or some facial hair is good. It's not a sign of bad hygiene. Facial hair is a distinctly masculine feature. Chick's dig manly men, so a little stubble or well groomed beard or 'stache is a turn-on to most women.

Actually, nearly every PUA I know has some kind of facial hair unless they simply don't grow enough for it to look decent.

Being well groomed means not smelling, principally. Brush your teeth twice a day. If you just got done eating something smelly, chew some gum for a few minutes.

If you sweat like a whore in church, carry some antiperspirant that works well in your car/backpack and use it.

Groom your nails. If you bite your nails, stop. If the skin and cuticles are fucked up, get it fixed.

If you've got hair coming out of your ears/nose, trim that shit. Really these are signs of a guy with good hygiene.

Also, I'm sure you've heard it a million times, but hitting the gym 2-3x a week will do wonders for your inner game, and consequently wonders for your sex life.

Good luck bro.

Friend, welcome to the world of sensitive skin.

I used to hop from one deodorant to another every six months. It would be fine for awhile, start to itch a couple months in, and I'd start getting red blotches and rashes eventually. It's not an exactly an allergy as after awhile I could go back to using old deodorants with no problem. But any extended use and it would start all over again.

Pow.

Clarins deodorant. It is so mild, I've been using it for over a year with no problems. It lasts long enough, can be reapplied during the day, and doesn't bother me at all. It also leaves those white streaks people laugh about, but who cares? It's comfortable.

It also has a very mild smell, so it doesn't interact with aftershave or cologne if you're into that.

u/SevenDimensions · 1 pointr/AskMen

Im surprised I haven't seen this yet, but definitely try Clinical Strength deodorant. It's much more expensive - around $8 for a 1.6oz bar, but it works like no other bar.

Here's one that I use.

u/League_of_Lewd · 9 pointsr/TrollYChromosome

Judgement free zone here, friend. I use this deodorant, and it's amazing. Woman seriously get good stuff, and I don't let shit go my way about using it.

Mm hmmm, girl

u/benjaminchodroff · 1 pointr/malegrooming

I use "Sure". I love it because it works great, it's unscented, and it only sets me back $2-3 a stick. I've used it daily for the past 4 years.
