For some reason, Im drawn to these black trees for some sort of decoration, depending on how tall they are, they could be centerpieces maybe?

I like this wristband bracelet for bridesmaids to wear, if you have some, or even yourself, depending on your dress color.

I like the idea of black candelabras everywhere, I feel like they are very romantic/dark, if done right. Something like this minus the fake spiders, and these Bleeding candle sticks are very cool.

If you're serving punch, an intricate black punch bowl would look great. Maybe a bowl on every other table, since they're little?

Satin flower girl basket, but I think there is a whole set for this, with a guest book and ring pillow. The gems are white, but it looks like you could easily pop them out, and place them with purple.

Instead of having guests sign a guest book, you could frame this Map of Europe and take the glass out and have people sign it. It would look amazing with all the well wishes on it, but still have a neat background to it.

A set of these Apothocary jars, filled with candy or matches, placed at the bar, or around the cake table, just as little accents. And you could wrap them with a band of purple ribbon to help tie your colors together.

And lastly, I always love candles at a wedding I feel like they are the symbol of romance. Lots of candles, everywhere. They give off just the right amount of light.

Good luck, hope Ive helped just a little. <3

Thanks for the contest! I hope to see pics of how the wedding decorations look!!!

Heh heh, time for me to shine.

The best cheap Fall candle would be a Febreze candle. I'd recommend Falling Leaves, but Sandalwood and Soothe is a close second. They used to have a pumpkin one last year that was incredible. It smelled exactly how Fall should smell. I emailed them about it, but it's discontinued unfortunately.

The next step up would be Malin + Goetz Tobacco. It smells so incredibly good. My girlfriend says that it smells like me after a shower, which is great I suppose. It smells like bourbon, tobacco, and honey.

My girlfriend got me this Old Fashioned scented candle recently, and I've been loving the scent it gives off. It gives off a very warm scent, whiskey and oak stand out the most to me. It seems like it will be a pretty long burn time, which is always great.

I picked up this paddywax Edgar Allen Poe candle from Barnes and Noble a while ago, and I really liked how it smelled. It's flavors include: cardamom, absynth, and sandalwood. It burns very well.

If you can afford it, this is literally the best smelling candle I have ever smelled in my life. It is the Tompkins candle from Blind Barber.I had the opportunity to smell it at a Blind Barber pop-up store in Haberdash. I can't recommend this candle enough. Seriously. Buy it already.

Well, that's all I have for candle recommendations!

Flower petals, fake may work better, but I think their pretty classy.

ice I know it may not last long, but you could make a bunch of these and stick them in a bowl for center peices, and possibly put some black glitter in the bottom of it. Extra points if you can somehow get some uhm...that weird ice stuff that makes things smokey. That'd be boss.

I'm trying to think of cheap Ideas, haha.

The only other idea I have, is to get skull shot glasses like this and fill them with purple dyed water/glitter ect. Very small, but still something. Could even get the petals to go around it.

orrr get something like this to go in a smaller sugar skull vase/cup.

These are neat! They look kind of purpley and small. You could get again, flower petals, or silk flowers to border them. That would be cute.

I found this on google. Could probably make it by hand but its a little out there.

Doily + candle., could even use the no flame ones I linked.

I hope your wedding is absolutely wonderful! I demand pictures, because that seriously seems like an awesome idea and I'm pretty jelly. I wanna see how it turns outttt!

I love weddings!

And that's actually not a lie. I've wanted to be a wedding planner since I was in high school. By the time I got married in 2010, I had approximately 300 different themes and color combos to choose from.

But, as a word of advice, make sure you can handle how often the glasses will be clinked together to make you guys kiss. My (ex)husband and I did bells with a quote on them. No matter what we were doing, a bell would be ringing. By the end of the night, I had one of the hotel staff members go around and collect the bells and had the DJ announce that it was time for the bells to be put to bed. I like the idea that /u/sillygirlsarah had. Have them do it once. Then after that, they have to do their best imitation or quote.

So now about that pool. Lol. Personally, I would find some way to wrap tulle or lace around it's edges. If you plan on covering it, great. Use flower petals to decorate the top. Silk ones can be bought in boxes for relatively cheap. eBay and Amazon have them. If you're going to leave it uncovered, go down to any local flower shop and ask if they have any dying flowers they would be willing to sell you petals off of. Fresh petals float, while silk petals will sink to the bottom of the water. Get just enough for a rough, thin layer on top of the water. Then find some floating candles or floating LED lights and place them in the water with the flowers. Now your pool isn't so much in the way, as it creates a peaceful, beautiful hang out spot.

But yeah, I have a ton more ideas so if you want any help, don't hesitate to ask. =]

Since this is a rental, painting the walls and changing the fixtures is probably not allowed, right? So let's see if we can work with what you have.

First thing: put the plunger and the toilet bowl brush in the cabinet, or hide them in a tall basket or something.

Figure out which colors you'd like to use. Since you want to make it feel cozy, I'd suggest a soothing green or blue or even plum.

Since you can't paint, have you considered covering the walls with fabric? It'll look almost exactly like wallpaper, but you can just pull it down when you're ready to move and no one will ever know it was there. Here's a tutorial on how to do this. Use 100% cotton fabric and if you pick a pattern, one that uses whatever colors you like along with a bit of the tan that's the color of your countertop would look nice.

Hang some art on the walls. If you're on a budget and don't want to spend a lot of money, pick up a few inexpensive 8" X 11" frames. Stop by your local craft store and get some scrapbook papers in your color scheme and frame those.

Get a new trashcan and perhaps a tissue holder and soap dispenser. These have kind of a cozy feel: Trashcan or set

Frame your mirror. Since a permanent mirror frame is probably off limits, try putting some small hooks along the top of the mirror and drape some fabric around the mirror, as if it were a window. Or use ivy or some trailing flowers. I don't know how hot the lightbulbs on your vanity strip get though, so if they get very hot, this could be a potential fire hazard. In that case, you could try some contact paper. Try using long strips of contact paper to get an effect similar to this one or just space some contact paper cut-outs, like circles or leaves, along the outer edge of the mirror.

If you can remove the towel bar above the toilet, get rid of it and use an above-the-toilet shelving unit. Something like this one. If you don't want to remove the towel bar, use a shorter stand or just hang a small shelving unit above the towel bar. Fill it with pretty items, like folded hand towels, a covered box of tissues, a perfume atomizer, a basket of potpourri, fancy soaps, and some nice scented hand cream

Yes to the rug and possibly the candles. The problem with candles in the bathroom is that you aren't going to want to run and check them all the time, so flameless candles might be nice.

Try a vase of interesting twisty branches on the countertop, or go outside and pick some fresh flowers when the warm weather gets here.

Are you looking to cover up old odors, like cigarette smoke, or odors you're currently making, like cigarette or weed smoke, or cooking odors?

For smelly walls, apple cider vinegar and water help to remove the smell. The place will smell like ACV for a little while, but a couple hours with the windows will leave it smelling nice. This only really helps if you've either got paint that's high-gloss enough to wash well or if you're going to paint anyway. For primer, when we painted the painter recommended and used KILZ Maz primer before painting.

For ongoing odors, smoker's candles are pretty useful. They don't make your house smell like anything, really - they just suck up smells. They are markedly cheaper in Walmart than on Amazon.

You can also get these, which work pretty well both for smell and for moisture. We used them for our funky-smelling basement.

Finally, a nice alternative to air freshener is to pop some ACV, some lemon and/or orange peels, and some cinnamon/cloves into a pot of boiling water and just let it boil for a little while. It'll make the whole house smell nice.

Sounds amazing! I hoast a tea about every other month pinterst board. Mine is much less fancy, sometimes we go overboard with sweets, sometimes we stick with savory. Puff pastry is your new BFF (and Philo dough) you can literally put random things on top, egg wash, bake, amazing.

For the "wetter" sandwiches know that you'll have to make those about 10 min before guests arrive. Prep is everything! I'll start making recipes about 2 days in advance (lemon loaf, sandwich filling), cookies/sandwich bread day before, and assemble the day of. Use a mandoline for long cucumber slices and lay on the diagonal. Cut the crust off all sandwiches (compost, feed to birds/squirrels).

Test the recipes beforehand! Some cookies spread, some sandwiches DO NOT work, some things taste too artificial/lemony/raspberry/lavendery. Ask people if they want to bring things and make a spreadsheet! This will help you know what you want to make to have a really nice meal flow. An example would be having a sweet heavy tea then someone wants to bring enchiladas. An extreme example but you get the idea. One time I was leaning heavy on lemon and lavender, must have put the vibs out, every guest who brought food brought lemon stuff.

I gave up on tiers and just go buffet style (on the buffet) and have a separate table for the actual teas. I love this tea warmer these are good tea lights but a hair too big (for airflow) so you'll need to light them about 10 min beforehand. I'm also in a hot climate so having "southern sweet tea" is a must, I don't care for it but two of my friends are from the south-ish areas.

My dogs aren't overly smelly, but I am familiar with the bull dog smell (my grandmother has 3 of them!). I vacuum every couple of days (because fur--though the cat is a bigger culprit than my dogs) and use that powder carpet freshener stuff. I also am a big fan of those wax melt warmers. I feel more comfortable leaving them on all day than having a candle burning and they really make the whole house smell yummy. There are ones that plug right into the wall which I find convienent, because it's less likely to get knocked over and cause a big mess if it's in a higher up outlet. There are also the kind that plug in and can be put out on the counter, a shelf, etc.

There are also these candles, which I have yet to try, but I know the smoke eliminator candles from the same company work pretty well.

I have an airwick automatic air freshener in my entryway as well, so when people come in the house the first thing they smell is cinnamon buns and not dogs. haha

Also, when the weather permits, I like to open the windows and get some fresh air in the house.

If you can not tell, I am obsessed with my house not smelling like a zoo so I have tried literally everything. I think it's working. I hope.

u/saint_gutfree · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Well, my initial idea was that you and your fiancée could find some way to make one of those wax hands (the kind that you can make at fairs and festivals by dipping your hand in wax) for each table with some white or off white wax, in this position. Then, nestle a tea light into the top of each one (maybe connect the tea light with some hot wax?), and surround it with some black rose petals and some purple and white calla lilies. You could also place the hands in these.

Another idea would be to get some of these face masks, cut off the little strings, cut each one a slightly bigger mouth hole, and paint them apricot. Then get some light bulbs, some super glue, and carefully glue a tea light to the top of each light bulb. Rim the inner edge of the mouth holes with super glue, then nestle a light bulb into each one. Place them face up on the tables, lit and surrounded by the aforementioned flower petals and some more tea lights! (you could also get these tea lights instead if you want to spend a little more to keep more with the purple theme)

I hope either of these ideas was at all helpful haha. I know they might be a pain in the butt to make, but I tried to keep with the theme.

And congratulations on the wedding! I hope that everything turns out amazing :)

Gift number one:This sewing machine would drastically enhance my life. I have been sewing on the same machine for 14 years, one my grandmother gifted me for my eleventh birthday. I desire, more than anything, a sewing machine with more than ten stitches that is capable of quilting. With a new machine, I could feel confident enough in my creations to sell them (it is not skill I lack, rather, decent tools).

As for my second gift, this candle would mean hours, upon hours, of relaxing aromas and foxy lighting. I am a mother to baby who has just started crawling (everywhere), and some aromatherapy induced mind clearing at the end of the day would be so excellent. As kindly as possible, c'mon....gimme.

You both have such clear skin, and oh! such wonderful hair today.

u/Metabilities · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I tried to go with things that had already been on my list and to make connections, I hope I mostly succeeded :)

Riddle the First -
Wine cork candles - a perfect Harry Potter accessory! I can just see us using these at Hogwarts!

Riddle the Second -
This is basically a tiny broom maybe for Dobby to ride on?

Riddle the Third -
I had to go with this hat because it's kind of my favorite hat ever... How can you not at least smile when faced with that hat? Also it is an essential component to a spell that makes the target laugh uncontrollably and therefore be incapacitated.

Riddle the Fourth -
This book is a super cute pop-up adventure! It's like going on a trip without leaving your chair. I've also heard that if you utter the right magic words, you can shrink yourself and enter the adventure...

Riddle the Fifth -
My biggest stretch- this is on my list because I have a bit too much junk in my trunk... that I need to "magically" get rid of x_x

For Bonus Points -
Who wouldn't want to see their lil pet in a cape ESPECIALLY when it also actually gives them the power to fly!!! :D

Mischief Managed! Now with extra derp! -.o

I was going to write a serious response but I can't help it because I too enjoy coming up with impractical wedding themes. Actual response possibly to follow.

  • Orbs. Everything is orb-shaped. The tent is round, and hung with those round paper lanterns. The bride wears a big poufy skirt that is cinched in at the bottom. Centerpieces are fishbowls filled with those wicker ball things. Foods include: grapes, tomatoes and meatballs. Favors: spherical candles and cherry liqueur chocolates.

  • Wedding-themed wedding. Bridal-style gowns MANDATORY for all guests. Ceremony features a unity ceremony which is a craft-making session where we hand-stamp 100 escort cards and hand them out to the guests. Favors are large flower bouquets. Each table is decorated according to different wedding archetypes, e.g. classic hotel wedding with white linens, rubber chicken and drooping floral centerpieces; chic urban wedding with brushed steel cocktail tables, finger foods and fancy drinks; offbeat wedding with a bedsheet as a table cover, guests must bring their own entrees (though pie will be provided).

  • Babies. Very similar to the "Animal Shelter" idea. Babies distributed as favors. Baby food buffet. Unity diaper change.

  • Camping. Guests stand on the bank of our local mill pond while we and our officiant paddle out in canoes for the exchanging of vows. Afterwards we take a first swim together and have a unity pee. Guests will be handed a mason jar and will be invited to scoop out some of the mingled pee/pond water as a favor. Food will be camp chili followed by orange cakes.

All alone this Christmas? Yearning for the sweet, sensual aroma of your partner? Missing his musk? Yearn no longer. Our product guarantees that you will fill the void left by your absent lover. Simply light the candle, allow it to heat for a bit, and drizzle the warm, gooey wax all over your bare and sexy body. Feel its aroma.

The scent will take you to a place you once shared with your partner over Christmas...the smell of sweet, erotic Reindeer Poop & Santa Farts Candles.

Allow the scent to fill your home and your heart (and other places) this Christmas. The best part is, it is reusable, whenever you fantasize of escaping to the holidays but are filled with desire to smell the scent of loves past.

u/SexualCannibalism · 5 pointsr/santashelpers

A custom-made travel kit would be awesome as part of a gift - I'm such a sucker for those $1-3 little cute reusable bottles in the hygiene aisles. You could get luxurious body wash, lotion, etc for her to refill as needed.

Really, anything to help hotels feel at home. A good book (or even a kindle?), portable candles, lavender linen spray...

Whenever I can't think of one great gift, I get a themed array of stuff and wrap everything individually to be both fun and frustrating ;)
