I have one of these, it's pretty basic/straightforward. Small hole for headphone jack, strong velcro. Touchscreen works through the plastic panel. Holds a Swift. It's perfectly good. I've come to the conclusion that I just don't like having something strapped to my arm while I'm running - it's constrictive and bulky. I don't think it's the fault of this particular model, just inherent to the item. I'm looking at a fit belt now, which I think will be more comfortable :)

u/happyfacesmiles · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Honestly, all I really need is this so that I don't look bad when I'm using my phone as a gps since I tend to place it on my lap(Gift one).

And all I really want is this so that I could make an attempt at not being a total lazy bum this summer(maybe I could go running or biking or something) and listen to some lovely music. - That would be for gift two, so C'mon...gimme. Please. Also, thanks for the contest, you two. :)

u/jasonweaver · 2 pointsr/AdvancedRunning

What's always worked best for me is this style armband. That particular brand is my favorite. I get that those aren't for everyone. The phone is more exposed and potentially gets a bit sweaty, but I've been using them for years with different phones and it's miles more comfortable than the neoprene-type armbands you'll find more commonly for sale. I've never had a problem that a Ziploc bag couldn't solve.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find one for my Pixel XL and am using a Quad Lock universal kit until a better alternative shows up on Amazon. I don't recommend that one, the armband is too thick and the Velcro isn't as secure as I'd like.

Google any variant of 'running headphones clip'. Here's one. Basically, there's an entire line-up of endless earplugs specifically designed to stay in your ear while you run. Oh, and as for your phone? There's a shit ton of products like that too, from things that velcro your phone onto your hip, to the more popular concept of strapping them to your arm.
Google things like 'dealing with phone' or 'runner's headphones' and things should come up immediately.

I'd like to note two things though. One, it doesn't matter who you are, how sexy you are, nothing -- you will look the polar opposite of cool if you're wearing a phone armband. So don't worry about aesthetics there. And two, there are so many concepts and styles of these products that it's gonna take a while to solve (e.g. finding the over-ear headphones you like most)

Hey OP,

I was on the look for the same thing.
Coming from the S7 Edge, I'd gotten used to a great armband from Supcase too.

Can't really help you that much yet, but I just purchased this armband a few days ago. Hope it works.

Good luck!

u/Br4hm4 · 1 pointr/Nexus5

This is the one I use. Love it. I have the Poetic slim case on my Nexus 5 and this fits in with just a little poking out the top.

I got it on sale for just under $14 and love it. If screen access is a big deal it won't be what you want. lol

u/Hjordt · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

Amazon has This It's seems like the best option I'd say.

Especially if you want to use headphones while running.

I'd love me one of these. Am tempted to buy.

u/Googoots · 1 pointr/running

I do but I use this HB Tune hand band which is like an arm band buy wraps around your hand.

I'm 31, have 2 kids and didn't want to be the dad that continually got more round as his kids got older. I cut out sodas, and started watching what I ate much better (prepared lunches on Sunday so I don't have to scrounge for greasy stuff during the week at work). Then I introduced running. First it was jogging a mile, then continued from there. I started 3 months ago and I'm now running 3 miles 4 days a week and then on the 5th day running a longer distance (between 6 and 9 miles, 69;)

I'm lazy and love doing nothing besides watching movies and playing video games. But once you start creating a routine it becomes a part of you. Start SMALL, set realistic goals, invest in a good scale and don't let the high and lows sway your mood.

Want to start walking/running too? I got some Bluetooth headphones

https://www.amazon.com/Skullcandy-Smokin-Bluetooth-Wireless-Earbuds/dp/B013UFETBW

I also got an armband to hold my phone

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KVNT5RO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Went to the local sport store and got some decent running shoes and shorts. It's never fun to START the run but in the midst of it there is a sense of accomplishment that I'm doing something to help myself. Now my kids ask "Daddy go for a run?" when I come home. A friend gave us a Double Stroller so I can push them now too.

All my ranting to say, you know yourself the best. Do what is in your reach, then reach higher. But DO SOMETHING! If my lazy ass can lose 30 in 3 months you can too :)

u/p_qrs · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I use this one and it's been pretty good so far, especially considering the price. I like having open access to my screen and fingerprint sensor. Feels secure during runs.

I would just advise against if you sweat heavily. There is a cutout for the camera, fingerprint sensor, and strap so there's a few places for it to seep in.

u/okayifimust · 2 pointsr/Entrepreneur

Chances are you'll need permission from at least the city and.possibly from the race organizers.

Do you mean pouches to put the phones in during a race? Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Sports-Armband-Exercise-Running-Workout/dp/B01ENN5NOC ?

How have you checked for demand? I used to run much more than I do now and still have two or three of these - in part given away for free by race organizers. I have roughly an equal number of other belts or gimmicks to store a phone.

I'd never show up for a run without my smart phone storage needs taken care of. I wouldn't buy one of these at the race.

u/ZerothAngel · 5 pointsr/vive_vr

I'm probably in the same boat as you (just recently ordered Index Controllers), so I don't have any actual experience doing this yet.

But I was just planning on buying cellphone armband straps, as suggested in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpJ2C75k7F4

I was going to start with this model: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XY817Q5/ and maybe just buy one now to try out since the new controllers are still at least 2 months away.

Regarding dongles, with shipping & taxes, it's actually closer to $20. And the Steam shopping cart doesn't let you add more than one at a time. Just FYI. No idea if they'll combine the orders on their end and save you on shipping.

Luckily for me, I had an extra dongle laying around and reflashed it last night. These instructions from the discussion you posted are probably the most accurate with the correct firmware filename and command line switches.

Anyway, I'm curious about what straps other people have actually used for this...

u/milkdud7000 · 1 pointr/running

I've been using this armband for about a year and a half now, works pretty good for me! I used to just hold my phone as well, but had to find something else because I started running long distance and could imagine holding the phone for 2 hours lol

u/DSP_GC_98 · 1 pointr/electronic_cigarette

this will fit your setup and i love mine

It's big enough to also fit a few bottles and batteries. I just cut off the straps.

u/wfp2a · 1 pointr/running

I have this one and like it pretty well: Big Phone Arm Band

u/JiovanniTheGREAT · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel2

I got this one on Amazon. I did a ton of research and that was the best I could really get. If your phone has a case, you'll have to take it off but it does have a card and key slot so there's that. I ran a 10k in it this morning and it was good to go.

u/ZeoFateX · 3 pointsr/GalaxyS7

I have the supcase and it's rock solid. I don't notice it moving at all.

Galaxy S7 Armband, SUPCASE Easy Fitting Sport Running Armband with Premium Flexible Case Combo for Samsung Galaxy S7 2016 Release (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BLFKULG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_JbOBzbDYYHN3Y

u/DoubleTigerMUCU · 2 pointsr/Pixel2XL

I run with my Pixel 2xl regularly. Gotta find a decent armband on Amazon that's what I do. Works great. Here's the one I have: Trianium Armband for iPhone X 8 7 6 6S Plus, LG G6, Galaxy s9 + s8 s7 s6 Edge, Note 8 5 (Fit Otterbox Defender/Lifeproof case) [Water Resistant] ArmTrek Pro Sports Exercise Running Pouch Key Holder https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GGX9KUA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_6Nx5Bb4K2V1TJ
Edit: I even leave the phone in my regular thin-ish case I always have it in. It's more convenient for me to just drop it in and keep moving this way.

u/sienihemmo · 1 pointr/virtualreality

Here's the STL. It's really nothing special, I only spent like an hour in Fusion360 making it.

And here's a link to a random phone arm holder off Amazon similar to what I used. Any of them will work, just pick one that is big enough to give the superglue surface area to grip on to, and that has a long enough strap on it. Mine barely reaches around my bicep.

u/moxyll · 1 pointr/GalaxyS7

There are armband cases that are similar to what you want. Here's the first result of a google search. You may be able to slip a belt through the slot in the back instead of their armband, or just wear it as designed.

u/HailHail80 · 1 pointr/running

I use this one and it does the job. I have a G6 but it's also compatible with iPhones.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GGX9KUA/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_9

u/thedelo187 · 1 pointr/lgg5

this says it works with the defender series so the commuter should be no problem. Has good reviews too.
