35. 3 Pack - GlideLok Child Safety Door Top Lock Made of Durable Metal (Not Plastic Like Other Models) | For Babyproofing and Childproofing Interior/Exterior Doors | Adults Can Open Door From Both Sides

    Features:
  • PLEASE MEASURE THE THICKNESS OF YOUR DOOR. Works on most hinged doors up to 1-3/8" thick, including interior doors, exterior doors, and French doors. (For exterior doors, remove GlideLok’s spacer bar.) Works on doors with levers, knobs, and large or uniquely shaped handles. Does NOT work on any type of sliding door on a track, such as bifold doors, pocket doors, or sliding glass doors. Also does NOT work on metal door frames, patio screen doors, storm doors or double doors that swing both ways.
  • REQUIRES ONE SCREW (INCLUDED) TO BE DRILLED INTO YOUR DOOR FRAME. If you are installing on an exterior door that opens inward into your home, please note the screw will be drilled on the exterior/outside part of your door frame. The GlideLok has holes for the possible attachment of a hook or rod (NOT INCLUDED), which is helpful for especially tall doors / shorter adults. If you do not attach a rod, you must be able to reach the top of your door to slide the GlideLok back and forth.
  • DURABLE METAL WON’T CRACK OR BEND LIKE CHEAP PLASTIC MODELS. GlideLok is the only top-of-door childproofing system of its kind made of high-quality painted metal, not flimsy plastic. So it will last you for years keeping toddlers from opening doors to unsafe areas in your home. The GlideLok makes your life easier and - most importantly - keeps your little ones safe.
  • RESTS ON TOP OF THE DOOR SO KIDS CAN’T REACH IT. Unlike door knob covers or other door lever locks, the GlideLok sits on top of your door, so it’s completely out of reach and your child can’t dismantle it. It is also unobtrusive and blends in with your décor. Most people won’t even realize it’s there.
  • ADULTS CAN CONVENIENTLY LOCK AND UNLOCK THE DOOR FROM BOTH SIDES. Unlike other types of door lever handle locks, you will not get trapped in a room while your child wanders around the house alone. Adults can operate this lock from both sides of the door. Also, if you don’t need it locked for a period of time, simply leave the GlideLok disengaged and you won’t have to unlock every time.

For some reason this didn't show up the first time I posted, so sorry if it shows up twice :-)

1

2 (Snow is kind of reminiscent of rain)

3 (food related because I would serve hot meals on it; unusual because it is multifunctional)

4 is for my two year old daughter because she has the normal version, but loves it so much (probably her favorite thing) that it is now in three pieces with the cover off and losing pages every day, but this one has a carry handle and is smaller for toddlers and easier to carry around.

5 You need to read it because I've been told I need to read it.

6

7 because Catwoman

8 The picture of beauty! :-)

9 Because it's a classic. . . it's sweet, has adventure, and teamwork. . . dinosaurs.

10 because it's a sword that I will always have with me because it's a keychain

11 I'm on my 4th week of P90x, and I hate yoga day because I can't do all the moves, so I don't have the desire to do it, but this would help on moves where I am not as flexible.

12 I want these so I can make necklaces with them.

13 Because it has a swingset and a playhouse and my daughter (and when he's older, my son too) would love this, and I love them very much. So seeing them happy makes me happy :-).

14

15 seeds are much smaller than golfballs

16 Nothing smells as good as a freshly bathed baby :-)

17

18 I could practice my letters and spelling (as long as each letter was only used once) :-)

19 My current obsession is being a mom! All of my other obsessions are geeky stuff, so this is perfect!

20 I know this really needs no explanation as to why it is so grand and awe-inspiring, but here are 10 good reasons. . . First of all, it's huge because it's a rug. Second of all, it is from one of the greatest movies of all time, Star Wars Episode V. Third, it looks sooooo soft (it's so fluffy, I'm going to die). Fourth, how many people do you know who have this in their home? Fifth, it has claws. Sixth, it's smiling. Seventh, you could hide under it during a home invasion. Eighth, you could cover up with it if your power went out in a snowstorm. Ninth, (since you love cats) I bet cats love laying on a wampa rug. Finally tenth, it would be the perfect addition to this boy's nursery (I've shown this picture a lot on RAoA, but I can't help it. He's too cute!)

Bonus Item 1 will be PMd to you when I found out your real name, not if but when :-)

Bonus Item 2 Looks yummy!

fear cuts deeper than swords

This was super fun by the way! Thanks!

I have tried several different face pads (including VRCover) and find the stock wide vive face pads to be the most comfortable with my glasses. I bought a few extra and just hand wash and allow them to air dry after I play. Even though the pads soak up sweat, I don't notice it until I take it off. Also I would rather they soak up the sweat than for that sweat to trickle down into my headset.

Many people keep their head set out by hanging on the wall or putting it on a dummy head, but this just invites dust. I keep my headset and controllers and other junk in a storage ottoman. Before i went wireless, I wired a long hdmi, usb and power extension cable through the bottom of it and just had the link box inside the ottoman. Now i just have the power cable to charge the controllers.

If you play near your tv or computer screen then buy a few foam poster boards to prop up in front of them to protect them.

The silicone headset and wand covers help protect and keeps scratches off your hardware and the walls.

The deluxe audio strap is a really nice upgrade if you have the original.

A better foam pad for the back of the deluxe strap really helps. https://vrcover.com/product/htc-vive-deluxe-audio-strap-foam-replacement/

Foam tiles on the floor in your play space gives a great physical reminder of your play space area and lets you turn the chaperone off or turn the range/sensitivity down.

The wireless is a pretty major upgrade but if you do be prepared to wire a small fan to the top to keep it cool.

I keep a few things near my head set at all times:

Lens cleaning wipes (make sure they are safe for camera lenses.)

Eye drops

Micro fiber wipes

Eyelid/eyelash cleaner (keeps oils out of the inside of headset, i prefer the baby formulas because they are gentle.)

I bought my first LED dryer about a month ago from Amazon after years of going to a salon. Best financial decision I ever made. It was $21.99 and prime eligible so shipping was 2 days. In my experience, the biggest difference between UV and LED (other than price) is the dry time. UV is about 30 seconds to a minute while LED is usually two to three minutes. For me, both are much better than the dry times of your average lacquer. LED used to be the standard for gel. Now, the industry is largely switching to UV, however, most soak off cured gel polishes will work with either. Check the polish details to be sure, but don't fret too much.

Link for my current dryer which I absolutely recommend highly (aside from falsely advertising UV when the one I was sent is actually LED):

Edit: u/misslion has a fantastic idea. Pick out one you like and maybe one you think she'll like (based on colors she wears a lot).

Also, some things to consider:

Does she have a nice, well-lit space to work in? If not, consider a cheap lamp and TV tray type thing. I don't like bright lighting so my house largely consists of 40w bulbs. Buying a lamp to use at my "battle station" to see fine detailing was a huge improvement. My coffee table sits pretty low but my TV is hung over the fireplace. A TV tray allowed me to watch TV and do my nails in a more comfortable position.

My lamp (the base is great for holding bottles and what not):

I've had eczema for 24 years, and here are some products I swear by:

100% squalane oil - this is more expensive per ounce than hemp oil, but my god is it effective for flare-ups. Squalane is the hydrogenized form of squalene, an oil naturally found in your skin.

Cerave Moisturizing Cream - this is the holy grail for eczema lotion. It can sting when you put it on, if the flare-up is bad. It works really well when mixed with a few drops of squalane. Cerave's claim to fame is the ceramides. Skin with eczema is frequently lacking in these crucial lipids.

Colloidal Oatmeal Lotion - there are a few brands of these that are mostly the same, but this is the one I like. This is best for those really, really nasty flare-ups, especially the kind where you scratch yourself raw/bloody, because it's so gentle and thick.

Similarly, colloidal oatmeal for baths. If you've got a full-body flare-up going on, or a flare-up somewhere that lotion can't reach (like on your scalp), this can be incredibly soothing.

Dove Beauty Bar For Sensitive Skin - accept no substitutes. This is the only bar soap my skin can handle, and it is the only soap that every dermatologist I've ever seen has recommended for my eczema. That's because it's not technically soap, it's actually a gentle detergent mixed with moisturizer.

Sulfate-free shampoo - SLS, sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate, is a big trigger for me, and a common one. (I also have to use SLS-free toothpaste.) If you're prone to scalp flare-ups, this might be a good first line of defense. For a cheaper option, Johnson's Baby Shampoo is also sulfate-free.

If I sound like a brochure, I'm sorry. I've spent years dealing with this, and I'm kind of a skincare hobbyist (who also dabbles in hair care), so I've tried a lot of stuff.

There's an ointment called Aquaphor that is awesome for diaper rash, eczema, and other common baby skin issues- send a tub!

A "Boppy" pillow is fantastic for nursing, and when the baby grows a bit as a prop for things like tummy time or sitting up. I used ours continuously the first year. A spare cover for the boppy is great too so you can wash one & have one on the pillow.

A safe place for the baby to sleep- do they have a bassinet or Moses basket or something? if they have pets, i'd go for an off-the-ground bassinet like https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AWMP862/ref=s9_acsd_top_hd_bw_bjsin5_c_x_4_w?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-11&pf_rd_r=170H27QQYZEJYZ8FWS31&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=b46bb821-2d80-59eb-8743-0ba9f06f73d3&pf_rd_i=677977011&th=1

A few spare bottles. Does she have a job with health benefits? If so, her health insurance may cover a breast pump. Have her look into that. My company covered a Medela brand pump so that's the kind of bottles we used because I could hook them right up to my pump. It saved a lot of sleep for me because I was able to share the middle of the night feeds this way with my partner (he'd do a pumped milk bottle feed, I'd breastfeed another shift).

For baby clothes, go with a lot of pajama-type ones for the newborn size. No one is dressing their teeny infants on a daily basis in tutus or suspenders (just for photo ops). zippers or magnet closures are easier than snaps especially in the middle of the night in the half-dark. if they have the built-in mittens, it's great so they don't scratch themselves because the regular baby mittens never seem to stay on. I'm going to guess the baby is in the NICU. If so, these preemie outfits from Carter's are great because the snaps go all the way down the arms, allowing for IVs etc. https://www.carters.com/carters-baby-boy/V_16573710.html?cgid=carters-baby-boy&dwvar_V__16573710_color=Color&dwvar_V__16573710_size=PRE#prefn1=apparelSize&param=true&prefv1=P%7CP+(Up+to+5+lbs)&page=1&start=1&cgid=carters-baby-boy

Carter's says Preemie sized clothes is up to 5lbs, but my son was born 6lbs12oz and wore Preemie size for almost a month before he grew into his Newborn sized clothes. So I would definitely get at least a few Preemie size and a few Newborn sized clothes. 0-3 months will probably start fitting when baby is around 3 months!

A baby grooming/toiletry kit is great, too- baby nail clippers & nail file, fine tooth comb, etc. like this https://www.amazon.com/Blackcell-Baby-Grooming-Toiletry-blue/dp/B01AUL5PSU

u/Oodles_of_noodles_ · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I buy gift cards from Kroger because of the gas points :D

Also, if you haven't already, try the Kind brand bars for snacking. They have other great things too like cereal and other goodies.

You're going to think I'm crazy, but baby wash is so good to use for bathing. It's gentle on the skin. The shampoo is a good idea too. Also, it doesn't have to be bought from Pantry.

Mixing bowls in steel so you know you can get them hot in the sink or dishwasher and they'll be clean.

If you need food storage, get rid of the porous plastic and go with Pyrex, which is glass.

Again, I think stainless is the way to go. You can see if there's something on it, there's no extra lining (like non-stick that chips) and you can get it hot and completely sanitize it. I like this cooking set and you can add the cooking utensils too!

If I win, just surprise me :)

This stuff (minus the wash) puts you at about $130 so in between your ~$100-$150

Wow, that is interesting. Well, I hope the Accutane goes well.

Some other tips for you:
- Try taking MSM powder (mixed in with water, work your way up to 15g daily, stop taking at least 8 hours before bed). It really helps me. It shouldn't be an issue with Accutane.
- Take a Zinc supplement if you aren't already (use Labdoor to find a good one).
- Avoid the sun as much as possible. I drive with a visor on. Literally this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073WB185T/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
- Since you're avoiding the sun, you'll need a good vitamin D supplement. I take this with my salads: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003BVIALG
- Use this website to make sure whatever moisturizer/skin products you're using are safe by entering the ingredient list in and having it analyze them: http://www.cosdna.com/eng/ingredients.php
- Use this cleanser; it works wonders for me: https://www.amazon.com/Dr-Bronners-Pure-Castile-Liquid-Soap/dp/B000HJXQ9G

Good luck. :)

u/DarlingDestruction · 2 pointsr/BabyBumps

I was/am in the exact same boat - first kid, limited funds, starting from scratch, going through reviews and prices drove me insane. It took me probably three months to get my registry together, and, even then, I am still switching things up, lol.

lucieslist.com was invaluable while picking everything out. I highly recommend you check it out.

What we have bought ourselves that fit our tight budget:

Graco Comfy Cruiser Travel System. We had already decided to go with that car seat, given that it seems to be the top-rated budget option, and the stroller ended up being a much-needed bonus. We go on walks a lot, so it works for us. If you don't need the stroller, the seat itself is, I think, only ~$100.

The Pack N Play, which I've heard from literally everyone and their mother is almost a necessity.

Because we don't have an IKEA near us to get our hands on a swanky $99 crib, we bought this DaVinci crib. We still only ended up paying $100 for it, as we found it on sale, however, we would have paid the $200 for it, given that the reviews are good, and, when compared to some other cribs that cost $400 and up, the price isn't bad at all.

As for the rest of the registry, we have on there a Moby wrap (affordable baby wearing, yay!), nail clippers, outlet plugs, nursing pads, a wipes case, a baby tub, baby wash, assorted crib sheets, waterproof crib sheets, Pack N Play mattress, and sheets to go with, crib mattress (we actually bought this one when we found it on sale for $20, and it's just fine), receiving blankets, dirty diaper bags (because we aren't getting a diaper pail, just a small can with a seal-able lid), changing pad, and a cover to go with, pacifiers, Dr. Brown's Gia Nursing Pillow, a bottle brush, bottle warmer, thermometer, booger sucker, camera to monitor the baby, and a few other assorted things that I couldn't really find a definitive "best in class" for, so pick at your own discretion: diaper bag, swaddles (although I've read good things about the Summer Infant brand), bottles (we're going with Phillips Avent), a bouncer (we got this one), and a swing.

I agonized over this stuff for what felt like forever, lol, so I hope it helps you and saves you some hair-pulling. It's all so overwhelming!

u/Ralliah · 1 pointr/Parenting

Let's see...

Care products: Mustela everything, especially the foam shampoo for cradle cap. We have the hair and body wash, the shampoo and the diaper cream. All are excellent.

Ingenuity Moonlight Rocking Sleeper: I bought this second hand because we already had a regular crib and one for co-sleeping. Every nap until about three weeks ago was taken in that sleeper. She loved it.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tippitoes-Mini-Bath-White-Green/dp/B0049MPDRU If you're going to get a baby bath, get this one. Baby is basically held up and needs only one hand worth of support at most. So handy when you're on your own.

Muslin cloths. So handy for a wide variety of stuff. I have like 30 so we never run out.

We use the Pampers Sensitive wipes which are so affordable if you buy in bulk off of Amazon. And hello, if there was ever an item you need tons of.

Hooded towels are only worth it if the hood is not attached to a corner but to the middle of the length of the towel.

Activity centre, we have the kick 'n play piano, she loves it.

We have Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature everything. It's just as good as Avent or similar and a hell of a lot more affordable. We have their bottle machine as well and oh god, does it make life easier.

Sophie the giraf. My kid will chew anything but Sophie is her favorite.

u/erosebro · 3 pointsr/beyondthebump

My first recommendation is to check to see if she has a baby registry. New parents need/want LOTS of stuff, and while all gifts are appreciated, having someone help cover the essentials always made us really happy! Some of my favorite gifts were for things we needed like extra bottles, bassinet sheets, and giftcards to Amazon.

Now, to your question - here are some top items we've used with our new baby:

u/ayefive · 1 pointr/HomeImprovement

Honestly, just go ahead and design the room for a toddler. Infancy passes so quickly and they can't even move so they really don't use their rooms (besides a bed and changing station if they're sleeping in there). My daughter ended up sleeping in our room until she could walk, so her room was exclusively for storage and playing. If you're really trying to be frugal, you could get a floor bed and just start the baby off in there. My daughter has always loved hers. Blackout curtains, a quiet door, and a sound machine are must-haves. We have one of those open shelves with cube baskets that's worked great...first for storage, now for toys. For play time, a low bookshelf that they can pull up on and a very low mirror are nice, as is a cozy place for you to sit on the floor. We also have one of those over the door shoe racks inside one of the closets that works great for storing all the little pieces...Creams, accessories, thermometer, extra pump parts, whatever. It's also important to make sure the room is 100% baby-proofed so they can have a place to play where you don't have to worry about them getting into anything. We got these top locks for the closets that were easy to install and will remain out of her reach for many years to come. Also cordless blinds, safety outlets, and furniture hooks. But overall, less is more. It needs to be a soothing place where they can sleep.

u/RumpleAndBelle · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

1.) The most amazing bed, I would 100% buy it if I had the $600+

2.) Perfect bedtime snack is a Smores candy bar with a glass of milk.

3.) So cute I wouldn't want to leave my house.

4.) Why settle for a night light when you could have space in your room.

5.) One of my kids favorite things that always helps them sleep.

Bonus: I am going to say a Panda. She used to say she could taste sleep and that it was as delicious as a BLT on fresh French bread. Thanks for the contest.

Everyone loves muffins. Some love the “muffin top” and some love the muffin with cream. A simple and delicious recipe for orange muffins and vegan cinnamon. No one will feel ..

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups flour

One cup of sugar

1 teaspoon of baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup unsweetened soy milk

1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon

2 tablespoons orange zest

1/2 cup canola oil

2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon high quality vanilla extract

Oranges cream for decoration:

1 tablespoon sugar

2-3 teaspoons orange juice

Vanilla pudding ( you can find it on amazon

Whipped cream

1/2 cup of soy milk

Preparation:
Preparing the muffins:
Mix the dry ingredients well in a bowl, in a separate bowl mix the wet ingredients well.

Mix the 2 bowls as little as possible to mix evenly. Over-mixing will cause the cake to become compressed.

Preheat oven to 80 degrees.

Grease the socket pattern or paper wreaths slightly. Fill with batter, and place in the oven for about 15-18 minutes until the muffins are golden and pretty. Remove from oven to cool.

Meanwhile, prepare the orange cream.

Preparation of orange cream:
Beat vegetable cream with soy milk and instant pudding until firm. Mix orange juice with a tablespoon of sugar and slowly add to the wrapping cream.

Refrigerate the cream until served. Sprinkle cream on the muffins and serve.

Hiya :)

Firstly, they are definitely different products.

Secondly, are these the right ones?

https://www.johnsonsbaby.co.uk/johnsons-baby-shampoo

https://www.johnsonsbaby.co.uk/johnsons-top-to-toe-wash

If so, they're both OK according to curlsbot :)

(if you're not aware of curlsbot, then I recommend it: https://www.curlsbot.com/)

The shampoo isn't "gold", so if this is the one you mean:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B007HLGAKY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_HLBrDbXN79SXH

Then this is not CG. I think this is being discontinued - it's not on Johnson's website anymore and they've updated lots of other things in their range recently.

Finally, reset shampoo uses sulphates to clear any silicones (e.g. in non-CG conditioners/styling products). Hence old "gold" for use as a reset... Lo or No-Poo use more gentle cleansers and so are CG approved - this applies to the other two.

Hope this helps :)

We used a toothbrush for babies with silicone bristles. Really we just went through the motions. At this point, it's more about establishing the habit than a need for scrupulous dental care. You shouldn't need toothpaste... just a little water on the bristles.

Ours didn't mind at all, so maybe we were lucky. I like the idea of letting him play with the toothbrush and gnaw on it himself. At this age they can start to remember stuff they don't like and anticipate it, so if you can keep from making it a regular struggle, that would be in your favor. And if it has already become one, maybe change up your routine a bit, so that you are doing it at a new time, new way, new setting (whatever) to reintroduce it in a more favorable way.

good luck!

u/petielvrrr · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

It is the best! It has solved like all of the problems I've had with my skin.
heres a picture of it (I've noticed that having pictures of the product I'm looking for can be helpful when I try to find it), and it can be found at most natural food stores. It is kinda spendy (I pay like $4 per bar), but it is so worth it in my opinion.

Also, based on what I've seen on this sub the two kinds I would recommend are unscented baby mild, or lavender. I've never tried anything but those, but I've seen a lot of comments about the other kinds not being as gentle.

Get one of these and preferably some coconut oil, it's super efficient.

My son wouldn't let me put that on him. You can buy special buckets with one side softer to pour water easier. Similar to this
I still use it as a bucket to rinse shampoo from my toddlers hair.

Something like this may be a better option:

Omg the claws...We received this as a shower gift. I was skeptical, but it's my favorite thing ever.

This! It's an amazing cup that is rubber-like on the side. It allows you to pour water like a cup but without getting water or shampoo in their eyes.

My husband is uncircumcised. He uses soap. In 30 years he's never had any problems. Wash with soap. If you're worried about the type of soap to use then I recommend Dr. Bronner's baby mild castille soap: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000HJXQ9G/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1396295296&sr=8-2&pi=SY200_QL40
