So this IS a great deal, and I don't want to disparage Op...it's a super awesome find, but I want folks to know:

FYI that Seventh Generation usually has "middle of the road" reviews. http://www.amazon.com/Seventh-Generation-Touch-Cloth-Diapers/dp/B00TOCKWAI/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8

Usually, they are ranked lower in the natural diaper category than bambo nature or Naty, both because they still use a lot of man made components (note in the description that the BACKSHEET (the part facing out, and not touching the baby) is where most of the real cotton is.

Usually they rank lower than more mainstream diapers like pampers, Huggies, or even honest, because they tend to be oddly shaped and seem to leak more.

Before you commit to a few super packs, watch some YouTube reviews because these neither serve the goal of being closest to nature OR being the best on leaks. Both pampers and Huggies currently have Amazon family (formerly Amazon mom) sales for a single subscribe and save delivery with close to 50% off when you stack the manufacturer and family coupons.

Just another option.
(still a great find, OP!)

I hope it doesn't disappoint you, but I'm actually a Redditor mom. :) If you want other Redditor parents to chat with, I hang out on r/Mommit and I'm certain you would be welcome too. There's another Redditor on here whose baby is the exact same age as mine! It's crazy. Apparently lots of us were getting friendly with our partners in December/January. ;)

We found we can get bulk boxes of diapers on Amazon. They even have an Amazon Moms service for anyone who takes care of babies (you don't have to be a mom) where you can get Amazon Prime with free two-day shipping just by buying baby stuff. And you can get diaper discounts. We like to buy big boxes like these. :D

Twins is definitely an unfathomable arrangement until you find yourself faced with it! Actually, it's still pretty unfathomable most days...

We cloth diapered for the first nine months or so (we were washing them ourselves and I just couldn't keep up with it anymore--and I was totally cool off dealing with the poop once they started solids...full disclosure!), but it took us a long time to find a disposable that both worked and didn't make us hate ourselves for using. These bamboo ones are fucking AMAZING. I will seriously sing their praises till someone strangles me. Not only are they the most absorbent diapers we've ever tried, they are ridiculously soft and comfortable seeming, and the company is small and awesome. We can only get them online and they're not particularly cheap, but worth every penny. The brand is Andy Pandy:

> If you live in the USA, your healthcare cost will go up significantly, since you are adding dependents to your insurance.

This wasn't my experience. The difference in coverage between self plus one to family was marginal. (I actually don't even think I had self plus one then, it was self or family)

>You’ll need furniture: crib, changing table, bassinet, mattresses and sheets to go with them. Probably a dresser for all of the baby’s clothes.

These are one time expenses. Many aren't even necessary for the first year. Used items are acceptable for all of these.

>Diapers!!! Tons of them

Cloth diapers or amazon family make this fairly inexpensive. 252 size 1 diapers are $21 ($19 with coupon)

>Clothes!!! Tons of them

This is as expensive as you make it. Infants don't need a revolving wardrobe. Onesies are like $2 each new. Used clothes, since the child will grow into a new size each time you blink are very prudent. I clothed my daughter in consignment sale items for 4 years at minimal annual cost.

>Food. Breastfeeding doesn’t work for everyone, so you may need to supplement / replace with formula. And after a few months, they start needing “real” food.

Formula was my biggest expense for the first year or so. Around $100/month for a while on subscribe and save. Honestly, it became much cheaper once we went to real food.

>Child care. Who is going to take care of the baby?

I addressed that.

>Other baby supplies: Car seats, stroller, diaper bag, toys, bottles, breast pump supplies, blankets, towels, wipes, books, medicine, thermometers, bibs, pacifiers, bowls/plates, spoons, baby tub, high chair... I could go on.

These are also as expensive as you make them out to be. Apart from the car seat and stroller, most are nominal expenses. Breast pumps are (generally) covered by insurance.

I never said it was cheap. Just not expensive.

>(My suggestion is to ask for gift cards, or return all diapers and most clothes if you have a baby shower, then buy as you need)

This is very good advice. A huge swath of things we got at the baby shower ended up collecting dust until we finally gave them away.

u/makenoapologies · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Diapers! (That one is 0.56 over the cap, but I have some smaller packages on my BABY!! WL if you would like to gift someone else as well!)

Dreft detergent would also be a very much appreciated item if you prefer that over diapers. I've never tried it before and have heard it is amazing!

Is there any raffle phrase?

Thank you for the contest!!

u/baseball_guy · 3 pointsr/Parenting

Brain rules for baby. Available on audio book.

It's a very academic heavily-sourced, book on parenting techniques, generally advocating authoritative parenting.

As far as schools, visit a few, look at the grounds, and talk to the teachers. Much of what they'll be learning at age three will be social, and whether it be Waldorf or Montessori, they'll mostly be playing with legos and in sand boxes at this age.

Structured play is great. Pretend time is great. If you can set up some cardboard boxes, and let him play pirate, that's pretty good for him.

There's plenty of debate on whether stay-at-home parenting is superior to day-care/pre-school, but suffice to say that it depends on the kid and both are totally viable options depending on your circumstance.

It's not serious to not be fully-potty trained yet, but you should probably get on that, especially considering it limits your preschool options a lot.

There are things called "swim diapers"

use sunscreen, but not spray on

Use shoes in dangerous environments but barefoot is okay on grass and dirt.

A three year old can climb up a play structure just fine all by himself.

Good Luck! :)

We use whatever diaper finds its way to us (mother in law gave us tons at our baby shower, friends with a slightly older baby keeps outgrowing his and hands them down to us, we forgot to buy them so just ran to the store and bought whatever was available)... BUT, we really like Seventh Generation diapers! They are so soft and natural feeling and I love the undyed look. Also, some of our friends use a compostable diaper service Earth Baby though it's only available in be Bay Area.

u/TheHatOnTheCat · 2 pointsr/beyondthebump

Hey, I'm a little confused. How did the discount change? Looking on Prime with amazon I see both Pampers Swaddlers and Pampers Cruisers have a 20% discount available but you have to subscribe to 5 items. Is that the issue? Did it not require subscribing before?

We used to use swaddlers off amazon as well but at 11 months switched to cruisers and are very happy. The only "downside" is they don't have the little line that changes color for leaks. They fit just as well and they are less bulky/better shaped in how they carry the absorbent space so I do feel they seem better for moving around. As you can see at least right now they also cost a bit less. 26 cents per diaper instead of 30 is a significant percentage. Part (but not all) of that is a slight sail so maybe order a box now if that's the price you like.

Also, sometimes you can order damaged or returned boxes of either brand for less. They obviously don't give you used diapers so there is no downside here, just boxes that were broken or open which dosen't hurt the diapers.

Edit: If you are concerned about the fit maybe buy a very small package at the store to try before buying 152 of them? We bought a small package on vacation and that got us to switch over knowing we liked them.

u/Ajoeee · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This lovely giraffe would be amazing for my daughters aching gums!

Or diapers are always lovely (even though its a tiny bit over 30) we've been going through them so much faster lately and could definitely use them. :)

Conviviality, thanks for the contest you wonderful person you.

I somehow am overdrawn in my bank account for $250. Don't know how that happened but $200 seems to be bank fees. (I can provide proof through PM if needed) What the heck? I tried to be generous and offer help where I thought I could but I guess I miss judged and couldn't afford it after all. I could really use diapers for the 2 littles. I should be ok again by the 3rd week of January but I've got about 4 days of diapers left. I need size 4 for Brendan (2 years) and size 3 for Penelope (6 months). Thank you so much in advance!

Hi! This is a great idea. We'd love help with [diapers] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DDMIMUW?colid=3JEOPLDGQ68PT&coliid=I2P08EEM5XS2KK&psc=1&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl), or [AA] (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O869KJE/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_img?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3JEOPLDGQ68PT&coliid=I2YQPZJ8PQSQLC&psc=1) and [AAA] (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O869KJE/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3JEOPLDGQ68PT&coliid=I2YQPZJ8PQSQLC&psc=1) batteries. The boys got a wii u on a Christmas subreddit that's going to be serviced for a month, and I would love batteries so they can play with one of their other gifts. They didn't break it. Nintendo thinks it was defective and has a battery or sensor issue. I'm on my phone, so please bear with me as I add wishlist items.

u/dearkeri · 1 pointr/Parenting

Andy Pandy bamboo diapers from Amazon. The company was started recently by a young family, they donate a certain percentage to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, the diapers are about as eco-friendly as it gets for disposables, and they are super soft and wicked absorbent. Our twins were waking up wet every morning and we tried half a dozen or more diapers until we stumbled on these and realized they are pure gold. They're not the cheapest diapers ($37 for a pack of 70), but they're oh. so. worth. it. Ours wear them exclusively, but you could totally just splurge for nighttime use. Oh, and ours still nurse overnight, if that further speaks to their absorbency.

EDIT: ...further speaks to the diaper's absorbency. Although, yes, clearly my children are pretty damn absorbent as well.

Put this on a wish list and link it here. http://www.amazon.com/Huggies-Snug-Diapers-Economy-Count/dp/B00BCXF9EG/ref=sr_1_2?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1416508226&sr=1-2&keywords=diapers+size+5 I know the feeling about child support. My ex used to not pay in November and December so he could purchase a nice gift for his gf. What a piece of work he was.

u/lorakeetH · 1 pointr/BabyBumps

Amazon actually breaks the prices down by diapers, too. Pampers Swaddlers look to be twenty-four cents each, less five percent if you subscribe, and you can get a free three month trial of Amazon Mom, which has free two-day shipping, and may take a little more off the price.

Most prime items are over priced. So you think you are really saving but you are not. You could save lots of money by not buying prime. The shipping times will be slower but that depends where their warehouse is located.

Examples
https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00LULUYHC/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all
non prime 1.35 lower.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B001HNNZMY/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new 50 cents lower, 10%!!! and not Add on item so you don't have to keep buying more to get prime.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00DBEONIM/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new 25 cents lower on a staple item.

Amazon is here to make money not to give you cheapest option and you are paying for 2 day convenience 1000 of dollars a year. and soon enough they will get rid of other sellers and you will be stuck overpaying even more.

So not only you are paying extra $99. You are paying more for most items. Win Win for Amazon.

If I won I would donate them to P.A.T.H. (People Assisting the Homeless) or some other homeless assistance organization in Los Angeles. Because homeless babies are a thing.

You can track prices on Amazon for when is a good time to buy diapers and set price alerts here: https://camelcamelcamel.com/Pampers-Swaddlers-Diapers-Size-Count/product/B00DFFT76U?context=search

Overnight diaper my friend :) We had the same problem with our oldest.

u/teenlinethisisnitro · 2 pointsr/AugustBumpers2017

Usually when I go to the page for Pampers Swaddlers, it lets me choose between "one time purchase/buy new", "subscribe and save", and "buy open box". For instance, I'm looking at Pampers Swaddlers Size 3 (162 count) and it's 13 cents/diaper for subscribe and save, 14 cents/diaper for buy new, and 11 cents/diaper for buy open box.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DFFT76U?colid=1OGJ77H8SCQLY&coliid=I20SYP8OFLJX96&ref=br_ADD_TO_CART_title_link&th=1

u/mycoldfeet · 3 pointsr/beyondthebump

We use cloth at home (prefolds + Thirsties waterproof covers) and disposables when we go out. Having an in-unit washer is key for us. We just started using Bambo Nature disposables, and since we don't use very many, no leaks yet (fingers crossed) makes them worth the $$$. Our kiddo is tall and lean, so folding prefolds to fit and the high rise of Bambos work well for us.

u/ultrapampers · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I don't quite understand why the pricing is the way it is, but it's actually cheaper to get a case of 120 than a bag of 60, and neither of the ones you added were Prime eligible. Please add this one to your list:

http://www.amazon.com/Luvs-Ultra-Leakguards-Diapers-Count/dp/B0012M8XQI/ref=sr_1_1_ha?ie=UTF8&qid=1374876603&sr=8-1&keywords=luvs+size+3

u/UnicornToots · 3 pointsr/Parenting

Pampers makes size 7 in their "Cruisers" style. Maybe look into those.

Pull-ups give the kid a sensation of wetness (which diapers don't) to help them know they've peed, so they are typically considered more leak-y and less absorbent. If you stick with the night-time ones, they have a different design that helps prevent bed-wetting compared to the daytime counterparts.

u/Flitterbee · 8 pointsr/breakingmom

I'd move her up a size just at night. I also buy the Huggies Overnites from amazon on Subscribe and Save delivered every 2 months, and we haven't had a SINGLE leak with those ever. NOTHING. They are so awesome.

We never had good luck with Baby Dry even during the day, for whatever reason. Maybe just the shape of babies. IDK.

u/Jess9289 · 1 pointr/beyondthebump

Yes, they are just a lot thicker and more absorbant than daytime diapers since they are meant to last a long time. And baby isn't awake and moving while wearing them, which may be uncomfortable in a thick diaper.

These are the ones that we use:
