I've got a 7 month old and he broke out in a wart last month and then promptly shared it with one of our other dogs. I'd suspect your pup's lump, though it doesn't resemble a wart, to be something along those lines. Puppies are at risk of a suppressed immune system due to vaccinosis, or over-vaccination. Papilloma viruses (warts) are the most common outbreaks, but lumps, rashes and other such things are prone to occur at a young age, and pibbles, I've found, are unfortunately more prone to skin issues than many of the dogs I've ever had.

Regardless of what the official diagnosis is, I would highly recommend picking up an immune system booster. I've tried a couple over the years to great success. This one I've used most recently for the pup with the warts, and it has outstanding reviews, mine included. This one, though a little more expensive, was excellent for our older dog some years ago with an epic skin infection. In addition to the Amazon product, we also used a pau d'arco supplement, because the wart had a slight resurgence on just the zenapet. I'm happy to report that the wart on the pup is finally withered back and is almost gone with this combination. This is just after only two-and a half weeks. They say that warts should be allowed to run their course, but that they'll go away after 1 to 5 MONTHS. As far as I'm concerned, supplements are the way to go.

Ok so i have a Grey and an IG that have been on a raw diet for over a year now. Right now we feed chicken backs twice a day. Once a week we substitute a meal with beef brisket bones. I dont suggest doing the beef until they have been on raw for at least a month as it is harder to digest. Every three days we substitute a chicken feeding with a tripe mix. We use tripe, chicken hearts, a can of pumpkin (or sometimes canned salmon), a cracked raw egg, and cod liver oil all mixed together. After a meal the IG gets one half and the grey get one vitamin (link provided below is the best price). Since putting them on this raw diet both dogs coats are more full and thick as well as shiny. Also their stools are solid and they decompose in the yard within 72 hours.

Firstly you need to know the pH of urine to see if the pH is ideal. If not, either one will help restore acidity which helps prevent crystals.

While it is true, that raising urine pH, whether by such a product or by Apple cider vinegar, will help get rid of microscopic crystals, it will not get rid of stones. It is also crucial to evaluate your pet's diet. The biggest cause of crystals in urine is improper diet, usually a diet too high in carbs, especially in cats.

Some vets will, some vets won't. It is usually more expensive to have a vet make a house call. I prefer to do it at home though, and the extra cost is worth it to me.

I obviously don't know your dog, but I have a golden retriever old man who is going to be 13 next month. His hips are also not too good and I sympathize with you. We have been bringing him to the vet a lot lately about that (on top of many other things), and asking for help making him more comfortable. Our vet recommended giving him fish oil on his kibbles. I kind of rolled my eyes because I was expecting to get him some pain medication, but she was wary of that because of his history with seizures and the meds he's currently on. I just thought I would mention this because after about 5 days of using the oil, he had perked up a lot for an old man and seemed to want to play more and trot around, as opposed to bark at you and look at you with sad eyes asking you to help him around. Even if it is nearing the end of the road for your dog, maybe that is something to look into to help ease his pain even a little bit.

Couple years ago a friend i trust on these things recommended switching to grain free, i dont remember when exactly but the dog food controversy at the time was beet pulp... But we were feeding regular iams, so we just switched to a grain free version of the same thing, which has been through a couple of rebrands but i think its been the same food the whole time...

We added a multivitamin a while ago too just to cover our bases cuz shes getting older, but who knows if thats even any good... I can barely keep up with human nutrition, and it seems like theres almost as much info to wade through for dogs as there is humans now.

So, one of the benefits of salmon oil is that it helps older dogs joint pain from arthritis, the oil may very well help your dog feel less pain when they walk.

Putting 1 - 3 pumps depending on your dog's size in his dry food each morning should show a positive impact on his joint health within a month to a month and a half, so you'll know whether it's helping his condition or not after giving it a shot for that long.

Also, another benefit for older dogs is that salmon oil is nothing but fats, so if you add a little bit extra it's good for plumpening up a dog that has become a bit emaciated as they have aged.

This is the exact food I feed my chow. He likes it. Once we tried to switch to the 'beef and sweet potato' version just for some variety and he did not care for it so we went back to the Salmon version.

Side note: No matter what you feed them I highly recommend buying some pet salmon oil and putting a squirt or two into their food everyday. It's really good for their coat and joints!

I bought my ferret this oil and he is crazy about it. It's like crack. There are gel forms that have a lot of unwanted carbs in them, which you should avoid. I just put this on my finger or his stomach and he absolutely loves it.

Try putting it on my healthy items, like mixing it in with a raw egg. :)

I’ve used the human stuff for mine before but it became difficult for me to find any locally without artificial sweeteners, which I don’t like giving to my dogs. I switched to a dog specific kind I found on Amazon - K9 Choice Melatonin for Dogs 3 mg Chewable Peanut Butter Flavor 120 Tabs

There’s also a beef flavored one from the same company but I haven’t tried that yet. I’ve always called pills “treats” so my dogs gobble them up without really tasting them anyway 😂

Not OP but I recently transitioned my dog to homemade food from kibble. During the transition I slowly phased kibble out and the new food in.

My dog is a St Bernard/Shepherd mix but ate about 2 cups of kibble per day plus chews/treats. Currently I use the same base for the food and vary the grains/veggies.

In the crockpot on high for 4-4.5 hours or low for 8 put in the crockpot in the following order:
1.5-2 cups water
1 cup brown rice (or quinoa mix)
1-2 cubed sweet potatoes
3 chicken breasts
1 (16oz) bag frozen peas/carrots
1/2 bag frozen broccoli florets
1 (16oz) bag frozen green beans
1 multi-vitamin tablet in each serving (he eats twice a day)

My pup reeeeeally likes frozen broccoli florets in any form (cooked, frozen, thawed but cold) so sometimes I just throw in a couple florets in his bowl when I feed him instead of cooking them in the food.

Yields about 10-14 days of food depending on if he gets peanut butter-filled Kongs that week, etc.

My advice, don't buy salmon oil from Amazon. We ordered this brand all the time from Amazon. The kidlets liked it.

However starting a few shipments ago every box came covered in salmon oil. They wised up and started shipping it in a bag since it leaked so much. But even then we were left with a bag slimed full of salmon oil and the container itself covered in it. We'd have to open the bag in the sink, wash the container before being able to handle it without dropping it. I suspect it has more to do with the knocks and bumps that happen with that kind of container than with the particular pump on that brand.

Since then we've gone back to purchasing whatever brand is available from the local pet store. Better than having who knows how much covering the packaging.

Or pup had it over the course of a few weeks. It would flare up after some basic running and playing. We merely limited her play time, which wasn't easy, and gave her some Yucca extract mixed in with her food about 3 times a week. Also after a long day of playing we would also give here these all natural pain pills. It seemed to work on our dog as after a few short days she showed improvement. The following weeks we would notice a slight limp after long days of playing and we would just be sure to slip her a pill that night. The whole phase didn't last more than 3-4 weeks.

Omg he is so adorable and I wish I could have a puppy. I do have my cat lucifer but I don't have any baby pictures of him on my phone. He was the cutest little ball of fur. You should get him vitamins plus these are on sale right now.

Most of those pain meds are just temporary relief and do nothing more. If you're going to make your cat better get something off Amazon that promotes healing and gives some pain relief so it lasts. Like this

Regardless, variety is usually better than a static diet. But when starting, I'd recommend trying a given food for a week or so to get a feel for how it does/doesn't agree with your pet.

A probiotic (eg. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003FDWWPA) is useful prior to and through this testing.

Our cat couldn't be fooled by pill pockets either but pill wrap (also called pill masker) worked like charm. You might try that. It is basically like bacon-flavored play-doh, and so far she has never been able to lick or eat it off the pill. It is simultaneous too sticky and too tough.

Our cat gets four pills a day and recently seemed to get a bit bored with the bacon flavor after six months of it. Sadly thar is the only flavor, so now we have just started wrapping her pills in the pill wrap and then roll it in Fortiflora, which is like powdered crack to cats.
