These cheapos are my favorites, except for deadlifting. For that I use these that get the job done but feel less awesome.

If you deadlift heavy, cobra grips are another excellent choice. They come in hot pink which for some reason delights me.

There are gloves that are supposed to be breathable, and are for the majority of your hand but not your fingertips. They're kinda similar to biking gloves, but they're called "grip gloves" or workout gloves. Maybe you'll find some that are helpful. Good luck!

Like these, maybe? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019O8T76G/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_sPQBxbV8GZVY0

I cannot find studies showing more severe injury because of wrist guards. Wikipedia mentions slamming your face and head more, with absolutely no reference to back it up.

After some googling it seems wrist guards are well-received among snowboarders. Googling "gloves with wrist guards" the top five results are all insulated snowboarding gloves. But I'd need something lighter.

This study shows they help:The effect of wrist guards on wrist and arm injuries among snowboarders: a systematic review

I bet if the high-end market started making cool biking gloves with guards, they'd be more common.

I have a pair of moto gloves I like so much, I wear them while commuting in the winter, but they don't have wrist supports. I can look into motocross gloves with wrist support. I see some lightweight weightlifting gloves have palm-padding for shock-reduction and hugely long wrist straps, as an alternative to a bent-bar wrist guard (similar to the gloves you linked). For instance, These gloves on Amazon If I try them I will post a review here.

Now you've got me shopping. As my skills improve and my investment goes up my wife is keeping an eye on my danger-index. This was a good post, thx. I think my biking gloves should have wrist support.

Is that the Australian flag? I don't think winter means what you think it means. The tips for that type of weather are pretty straightforward:

I got a pair like these (Harbinger 140 Pro WristWrap Glove (Black) by Harbinger)[http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00074T83Y/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_3Jomtb0ERJ7YT]

Love them. Durable leather palms, good support in the wrist wraps. Easy to get on and off. I also found after I got them that every dude in the weight room that doesn't use nothing or wrist straps uses these gloves.

I have been using a pair of leather weight lifting gloves for the past couple years. They have two velcro straps so they don't move around much while pushing. They are also well padded in the palm and the leather provides decent tackiness with my coated push rims. I found them searching through a bin at a local bike shop and have yet to find another pair I enjoy as much as these.

Just through amazon searches the closest thing I can find to them are these at the moment. You can always check out your local sporting good stores to see if there's anything there that appeals to you, plus it lets you test fits and function before you purchase. Hope that helps!

I was hoping to do the same thing but it really isn't feasible. You should really try to go to a store and find a glove you like in a size that fits you and then see if you can get them cheaper online. as for recommendations these are the gloves i use. They replaced a 10 year old pair of Nikes that aren't made anymore and have held up well so far. Don't know if you're looking for wrist support like those have though or not.

I don't get this in my fingers, but my forearms are on fire during certain pulling movements (cable rows and lat pullsdowns especially) and often prevent me from continuing despite me still having a bit left in the tank.

While I'm working on a more long-term solution, I've found that using neutral grip handles (palms facing each other), as well as focusing to make sure that I'm pulling with my "elbows" rather than gripping extremely hard and "pulling with my hands" both help to alleviate it a bit.

I'll strap up if I want to get an extra set or two in but don't feel like my forearms are quite up to it. It helps to alleviate pressure from my forearms so I can focus more on pulling from the elbow.

I use gloves for kettlebells but mainly to prevent blisters and ripping of skin due to the constant rotation of the kettlebell during high-rep moves. I used to use normal lifting gloves with wrist support, but didn't like them. They keep your fingers + wrist in a rigid shape with less mobility so I would actually burn out my grip trying to hold onto my bell. I switched to minimal leather gloves which are smooth and allow the handles to glide, helping to prevent skin rips in the palms while not restricting my finger + wrist mobility. There are also gymnastics handgrips which are just like a layer of leather to cover the palms so you don't tear them up while doing high reps of pull-ups, etc. I also don't use the gloves all of the time - just when I know I'm doing high-reps of a move for a period of time (like swinging/snatches/etc. for 2 mins straight).

I have these gloves, recommended by The Wirecutter. Not super thick, but they do fine for my area. They have very good grip on the palm so I'm not scared of dropping mine phone, and I haven't had any problems with the touch screen responding.

One con--the shape doesn't quite fit my hand somehow, so they bunch up a little on the pinky side right at the base of the fingers. It's just a slight annoyance though.

Ninja edit: They have a thicker version of them too,

u/skittles_rainbows · 1 pointr/autism

What about something like these gloves? Weight lifters use those. If you like them, I'm pretty sure you can find a leather worker on etsy who can custom make them to fit the whole palm.

These are also weight lifting.

These are wheelchair specific

Ha! Reminds me of the time my dad wore a brand new black hat without washing it first. He had black dye running down his face. I use hornet rowing gloves, they're amazing. Gloves such as these ones can really help protect the skin of your hands during your lifts.

Also experiment with different grips ; the three biggies are double overhand, alternate/mixed and hook. (Alternate/mixed is my favourite but it’s best if you try them for yourself and pick a favourite)

u/_J_ · 1 pointr/Aerials

I started using palm guards when I started swinging. I'm 100% doing trapeze for fun but they seem to make my hands rip less and make me more confident in my grip.

I'll probably switch to dowels (almost everyone I see uses them) at some point but I hear the gripping feels weird.

From what I hear, everyone likes different things and you should try things out.

Here's the ones I buy: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JMLX7AS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_v8EJGatMBCGrq

You look amazing! Protect your hands when doing weight lifting, I could recommend a pair of gloves for you: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0756CKZ7K

u/Like_glass · 2 pointsr/xxfitness

I use these gloves from nike ($30), which I like solely because they look badass from the pleather. There are definitely cheaper ones out there in the $15-20 range though!

And I use this duffle bag ($128) which is stylish enough to double as a purse! It's bit expensive but since it is really durable, good quality, and doubles as a work/school bag, I thought it was justifiable.

u/Babbling_Broke · 1 pointr/Fitness

I've found un-padded lifting gloves are a huge help for keeping your hands warmish (at least to start) and don't impede your grip. Someone else in this thread mentioned keeping the bar inside too.

I like these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EHFWBYM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/GreenStrong · 3 pointsr/kettlebell

It might help to post what kind of gloves you've had success with. I use very thin cotton gloves when my calluses are torn, but I don't know how they would handle regular use. I've also used sock sleeves for snatches, they're OK, but they make the diameter of the handle a bit thick for me. Amazon suggested these to me, they look cool., but I prefer keep my hands callused in a futile attempt to seem tough.

OP should go up on weight, at least for swings. Heavy weight builds much more strength than high reps with light weight. "Heavy" weight being whatever is challenging to the individual.

Thank you luciferin :)

Another question I have is, is it good to use exercise gloves?
I have these https://www.amazon.ca/NIKE-Fundamental-Training-Gloves-Black/dp/B0049MFOC4 and I have only used them sometimes.

Here, have a real answer.
