For my money, I've had the best results keeping it simple. I really like the sticky pads. One near the head and one near the base of my penis gives me great results every time. The accessory that really upped my game was 'hurt free tape', sold under many different brand names. The tape is flexible, so it grows with your erection and it doesn't stick to the skin, it just sticks to itself. So I use the tape to wrap around the shaft of my penis and so keep the sticky pads where they're meant to be and ensure that they make good contact throughout, from flaccid to ejaculation. This eliminates hot spots, pads falling off mid-stream, etc. Like the pads the tape is reusable, up to a point.

Let me tell ya somethin’ somethin’, buckaroo. It’s best to get medical attention ASAP, you’re not guaranteed not to catch a disease, Irreversable/permanent damage or the infection gets out of control, don’t take your health for granted

I’m tellin’ ya, cowboy, let the doc’s help ya first.

Buut i ain’t forcing you to do shit, so let me give you some blueprints in the meantime to deal with what you have, here’s what you gotta do:-

  1. Thoroughly flush your lesion with lukewarm water for 30 seconds or until the pus has been washed out, if you have a Saline solution even better.

  2. Depends on how deep your cut is, if adipose/fat tissue is exposed do not apply antiseptic or antibiotic directly inside the tissue, if your cut is in dermis/epidermis, disinfect it with antiseptic solution, ones that are common in every pharmacy is such as povidone-iodine 10%, isopropyl alcohol 70% (heads up, it stings like hell) and NaCl 0.9% saline solution.

  3. If the cut is gaping, you gotta close that thing, with Steri-Strips or Butterfly Bandages hmm, whats that? Don’t have those? Time to dust up your DIY skills and makeshift a butterfly bandage!

  4. You need an antibiotic cream/ointment topical antibiotic are your soldier platoon to fight the infection, smear it all over (not directly inside if fat tissue is exposed), such as Neosprin i reccomend Fusidic Acid 2% this one always helped deal with my infections.

  5. do you like ripping off a bandage? of course not, you masochoist! Sometimes the scab is infused with the bandage, thus getting painfully ripped off and slow down healing/bleeding, solution? Wound dressings! Such as Mepitel or a Medicated Mesh Wound Dressing what? You like cheap DIY solutions? Sure thing! You can apply plenty of topical antibiotic as a moisture to keep blood from sticking or Wound Gel

  6. Time to put the babies to sleep with a blanket, preferably cover your slits with Non-stick sterile (or non sterile) gauze pad then secure edges with medical tape, as that can let your lesion breath/form a scab, but you can also use plasters or cosmopor bandages, repeat cleaning process daily(24hours) or if it gets soaked in blood or dirty.

Some more info, when you’re working make sure everything is clean as possible and sterile, wash your hands, the tools, the scissors you use to cut up bandages and the table you’re working on, also wear breathable clothes, sleep well, eat well, eat foods that boost your immune system with Vitamin C, D, Magnesium and Calcium.

Now listen up cowboy, if your infection is still there after 5-10 days, progressing or if you get fever, stop playing pretend nurse and get a real nurse working on ya be safe, laddie.

Agar agar powder. [US](https://www.amazon.com/Telephone-Product-Thailand-Powder-Ounce/dp/B01KMHY2OU/) [Europe](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Special-Ingredients-Premium-Gelatine-European/dp/B00EZMPMNE)

Always start with agar! And don't throw old fully colonized plates out. Some contaminants (e.g. mycogone, AKA wet bubble disease will only show up after full colonization (white blobs oozing yellow/orange fluid). and that one (mycogone) will fck up your grow hard, been there done that...

Also if you are in North America there are Glad mini rounds, they are used in the original Pasty Plate tek. They also have [430ml jars](https://www.flaschenbauer.de/einmachglaeser/sturzglaeser/sturzglas-430-ml-to-82) suitable as substrate containers

A pressure cooker. Good ones are a b**ch to find in Europe. I wouldn't buy [that one](https://www.ebay.de/itm/Pressure-cooker-17L-Stainless-steel-Made-In-Turkey-Largest-Size/133128864948) or similar constructed ones, they are complete s**t, build up next to no pressure and need ungodly amounts of water. I have two of them, but had to do some haphazard MacGyveresqe hacking to get them to sterilize properly, I'll bring that up later.

I also have a Fagor Alu 22 (22 liters, fits eleven quart bottles), but I think that model went out of production in 2017 without a replacement. IMHO the only sane option in Europe right now, would be to order a Presto from the US, they're ~80€ + 40€ shipping, so not that bad. [Presto 23 quart PC](https://www.amazon.com/Presto-Aluminum-23-Quart-Pressure-Canner/dp/B073NCFL2L/)

Also on US websites like shroomery, you'll always read something like "sterilize 90min @ 15 psi". Pressure cookers in Europe usually have no gauges and only go to 50-70 kPa (~7-10 psi). It isn't as bad as it sounds, since sterilization time isn't linear with pressure/temperature. I've found I can get away with 120 min sterilization time for grains, 75 min for PF sub and 30 min for agar.

A rack to elevate your agar dishes while you do transfers, like these that come with microwave ovens (contaminants tend to collect on the SABs bottom).

A slightly wet towel to put the SAB on. Some people disagree on this, I use the towel to absorb the sprayed soap/water mix and not having that run off the table.

A clear box that's modified as a SAB. I use this one as a SAB, maybe they ship outside Germany. Anyway the manufacturer is kis.it (builds the monotub too), so I think they might be available elsewhere in Europe: https://www.obi.de/aufbewahrungsboxen/obi-allzweckbox-santos-transparent-oversize-140-l/p/3333341?template=PDP&box=box4

More clear boxes used to fruit bottles (basically a monotub, just with individual substrate containers). I use these as unmodded monos (no holes, no flipped lid, lids not latched): https://www.obi.de/aufbewahrungsboxen/obi-allzweckbox-cadiz-l-mit-4-rollen-transparent/p/1930387.

I personally have a ton of issues with my omnipod...and still love it. I'd say at least 1 pod/10 falls off. If I'm doing ANYTHING physically active, I need to tape it on. Heck, even golf makes it fall off. Sweating makes it fall off(fortunately I live in FL where you sweat 365 days/year) the rep recommended Mefix tape (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ITHSVW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which I guess you're supposed to put on your skin then the pod on that? I put the pod on my skin then this over the pod, whenever I plan to be outdoors in the FL heat for more than an hour. Works great, and I love my pod. Just don't go in water the first day you put it on...or shower after..ugh

u/its_poop · 6 pointsr/entitledparents

It should be fine as long as you keep it covered. I’m sure your doc told you how to take care of it, but if you need extra protection, wrist wraps like these are great for covering and protecting the bandaged area.

And it just makes it look like a sprain, so no dumbasses have to assume anything.

u/Atnan · 3 pointsr/Backcountry

The best tape is Leukotape. Works best combined with tincture of benzoin.

I always keep both in my medical kit, and you can apply it preventatively before you tour too.

That said, the best option is to figure out how to avoid the heel lift that’s causing blisters. Different foot beds, pushing the tongue down before lacing, and playing with how tight you keep your buckles while skinning are a few things you can try.

I had severe/repeated blisters in a pair of ski boots once that was completely resolved by switching from the stock liners to Intuition Pro Tour liners, so that’s another option. Really depends on the situation.

The waterproof athletic tape you can find at any Walgreen's and such is awesome for both stripes as well as general taping. Stuff doesn't come off unless you peel it off and great for taping toes.

Hello! Congrats on your upcoming surgery! I also had to buy my own gauze and tape. I used Bandaid Cushion-Care gauze. I folded them up and put them on top of my horizontal incisions as (literally) a cushion. My post op bra compressed the incisions, which caused the most discomfort of the whole ordeal Gauze
I didn’t have any drains and was prepared for my incisions to leak. My plan was to tape those on with tape. Luckily didn’t need to do that, but I have found it helpful to put a small piece over my stitches when they surface to avoid snagging.
I couldn’t wait to get out of my post op bra, so once I got the go ahead I switched from post op bra to hanes. They are amazing. (My surgeon provided post op bras and they were horrendously uncomfortable)
Make sure you have your basics. Advil, Tylenol, stool softener if you’re going to take a heavy duty pain killer. These ice packs we’re very soothing for the first few weeks, just don’t put on top of any incisions.
I was very bored the first week or so. I watched some Netflix. Read a lot of books (if you have a library card check out the Libby app! It may only be in the US though, not sure where you are located) and I did a ton of the archived NYT crossword puzzles.
One other thing, leaving the hospital, I had to get into our truck. It’s a normal truck, but i usually have to hoist myself into it with my arms. That wasn’t going to happen post op, so I brought a step stool! Felt kinda silly, but it worked great! Feel free to PM me with any questions you may have!

Coach tape by johnson and johnson is my favorite. Strong, pretty sticky and relatively easy to rip with your fingers, decent price. Can be bought in bulk on amazon.

https://smile.amazon.com/Sport-Tape-Size-Johnson-Sports/dp/B00IG0SPBC/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=coach+sports+tape&qid=1572733162&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011&rnid=2470954011&rps=1&s=hpc&sr=1-6

Tried many other brands and they are either over priced due to being marketed towards grapplers, or ridiculously difficult to rip. Or doesn't stick well enough when you start sweating.

u/Mako18 · 1 pointr/climbing

In addition to "see a doctor, it's been 4 months", I've had great results with H taping. I like the Johnson and Johnson waterproof 1" tape for this, because it has a little bit more structure than the normal tape I use for other finger related issues. It's also smoother on the outside, and seems to hold up well through multiple climbs.

I made all tubs exactly the same measurements on all. I believe the poly fill wasn’t “stuffed” correctly but I find it hard to dial it in cause people say “stuff the bottom holes as tight as you can and barely put the top hole poly fill in to the point where it’s almost falling out” which I did but it’s still drying out/swamped thus leaving me to put this funky ass paper micropore tape. I appreciate the pointers my friend.

The tape in question: TAPE SURGICAL PAPER (4) Size:... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000GCMXPC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

u/nona15 · 2 pointsr/BostonTerrier

When it happened to mine, I have read that they might stand back up. I taped them just once instead of waiting and it solved the issue. Took about 4 days.

These came cut in little pieces that fit his ears perfectly.

OK while not technically a KT brand the Elastikon brand by J&J has worked VERY well for me. I learned about it from Mark Charrette in his extremity series and it is cheap and is VERY sticky. I usually get 4+ days if not a whole week for a single application on my patients.

u/9inety9ine · 1 pointr/bjj

I use generic zinc oxide tape off amazon.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Firstaid4sport-Zinc-Oxide-Tape-13-7m/dp/B001FZN56A/

Been using that tape for years, cheap and works great.

u/starggg · 1 pointr/backpain

Here is the tape that I use, I just tape around the outside edges of the patch in a square. I usually put the tape on the edges of the patch first (with the film still on the patch, so it's not sticking to stuff), then peel off the film, and then transfer the patch to my back after that, because I'm not that coordinated with taping behind myself lol ;) i have found that tape can really hurt when you take it off, and even rip off skin! So this tape is gentler, but also sticky enough to actually stay on for 12 hours. Also, you're supposed to take at least 12 hours off between patches, so your skin can breathe, just FYI.

u/arcticfox00 · 1 pointr/asktransgender

I've used duct tape before, when swimming - you'd think it would hurt like hell, but the reason it hurts to pull tape off your skin is largely due to the hair. Seriously. It held perfectly.

There's also medical tape, like this: [link] I don't trust it as much, though. You're going to want to shave that general area anyway, so tape shouldn't hurt that bad.

u/CL_3F · 5 pointsr/bugout

Always better to build one yourself.

Here's mine. Might give you some ideas.

6x6 Med Pouch (Modified with fingernail polish)

u/liisrandom · 4 pointsr/balisong

I also dropped my Barebones while drunk on my foot in a similar fashion. I like to use Steri Stripsfor cuts/punctures that are too deep for traditional bandaids and too shallow for stitches (or as a temporary till I can get to proper care). It'll help with the scarring too

u/DrWormhat · 3 pointsr/climbing

Don't overthink it. Just buy 2" cloth medical tape. But you shouldn't be taping your fingers if you don't have an injury. Won't help anything if your fingers are healthy.

I use this tape. It's amazing, I just tear a little piece off and fold it back over itself. It can last for months. I tried the ezo dental stuff, those people are nuts. It doesn't work at all.

u/joe_ringmaster · 1 pointr/DrMartens

Exactly.

What worked for me was "taping" my heels. With something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Nexcare-Sensitive-Skin-Trauma-Tape/dp/B00KOC7FFM/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1541578801&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=Nexcare+sensitive&psc=1

As mentioned, worked for me, not sure if this will work for anyone.

Tape cotton balls using Johnson & Johnson Waterproof First Aid Tape onto the end of your fingers, one per finger and 1/2 for the littlest finger (you can't play loud with this finger anyway, right?). Double up on the thumb.

u/CaptainNarwhal · 1 pointr/running

I use this 3M Nexcare tape, but there are tons of options out there that work.

I take a strip that's roughly 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) and lay it across the danger zone. I started out using two strips for each nip to make an X or + pattern, but I've found that a single vertical strip works just as well for me.

u/josandal · 2 pointsr/running

It's kind of shocking to me that you can't find good medical tape at a CVS or a Target. You can also try your local supermarket. I've tried band-aids and the liquid band-aid stuff, and my preference has still been some waterproof med tape, which I'm always able to find. This (the 1" width) is essentially what I buy every time, though sometimes a store brand.
