I come from a Lebanese family and I absolutely love our rose flavored desserts! I've loved them so much that I try to incorporate it into some of my favorite American foods. Out of the three you mention, we usually only use the rose water for baking purposes. As for rose syrup, we use that in a drink! We pour a couple tablespoons of rose syrup with some cold water and ice and drink that to cool off on a summer day. Hope this helps! Here you can get it from Amazon Pantry for 1.50 for 6, or 6 dollars for 24. Having it delivered by the six packs means you would save money and not have to store it.

If you are trying to get the same flavor, you should start by reading the ingredients. First off, it does not say lemon, but natural flavors and citric acid. It is very likely that Nestle is using a cheaper source of citric acid then lemons, you can get 5lbs of it on ebay for 14 bucks. Throw some lemon in too, for "natural flavor". Next I would probably add sucralose, an artificial sweetener. A popular brand is Splenda. You may want to do a quick search for sucralose, most pages writing about it are not debating the best brand but the actual safety of the product. There are 2 other ingredients that are preservatives that may or may not be part of the flavor, as well as 2 ingredients that I cannot identify, pronounce, or guess the function of. These are likely a contributing factor in mouth feel and texture, as well as a subtle bit of flavor.

Good on you for trying to cut out sugary drinks, but keep in mind that tricking your insulin with artifical sweeteners like the sucralose in Nestle Lemon Water will lower your metabolism over time and contribute to weight gain. Try water with lemon with a bit of honey or maple, sugars that are slightly more complicated to break down and therefore do not turn into fat as quickly.

Oh yeah I have never seen it in person but I've seen it posted on here and other places online. Supposedly it has some sort of mineral or some shit that makes it "more healthy" or some bullshit. I would probably try it just for kicks some time if it were available and not so expensive. I actually just pulled it up Amazon its called blk and has Fulvic Acid which makes it black. Its 45 bucks for a 24 pack so really not that expensive I guess compared to any other bottled water. The description is

It sounds like a bunch of buzzwords and doesn't really have any benefits besides looking cool but I understand with a product like bottled water the need to differentiate is vital especially since its pretty hard to stand out from the crowd with something people can get essentially for free from the tap.

Nestle Splash is the best. It only uses natural flavoring, and there is none of the syrupy taste from Gatorade or powerade, just as refreshing as water. I love the orange flavor. It's not overly sweet either.

It's a trendy thing right now. It's all-natural, or at least that's the gimmick. My company stocks it and probably pays less in bulk, but at the supermarket it's $1.99. People are saying tea, but the red you'll get from that is likely not going to match a Spanish red if it has no caffeine.

You can get it through Amazon (the one I have is Cortas); just make sure you get one for cooking purposes, not beauty!

You could probably filter something you know is contaminated and cultivate it in chicken broth or something in a warm area of your house and see if anything grows. With controls, obviously. It wouldn't be conclusive or anything. I work in a lab and I've always been kind of curious about testing my 2+ year old Sawyer against a new one. Maybe I'll grab a couple expired sterility test bottles..



Or you could just go spend $30 on a new one.


On that note: Every year my boss has us help out kids doing science fair projects and one girl wanted to test different waters for bacteria. I mostly wing it, lol. The rose waterrose water is food grade, and I like adding about 1/3 volume distilled water or it seems a little overwhelming- not stinging, just the scent and flavor. The vegetable glycerin is also food grade, I basically mix up the rose water/distilled water and add small dollops of glycerin which I shake and test until I like the feel.

All ingredients are inexpensive enough that I don’t worry about wasting it. The key difference between my homemade version vs the one I see commercially is that there are no essential oils added, it tends to irritate my EXTREMELY sensitive skin.

In addition, I find it to be less drying than HA if left alone on my skin. With HA, I must immediately add an occlusive (squalane for me, it’s the only thing that doesn’t trigger milia on my fussy face). I also like using my homemade mist as a body spray, sometimes alone, sometimes with squalane or argan oil over it.

Caveat - I do not wear any makeup, so not sure how well it would play with foundation etc. I do use sunscreen, either Anessa Mild Milk or Canmake Mermaid UV and both work fine, no weird pilling etc.

If you just want the black color, you might want to look at blk water. It just has black coloring and is supposed to be tasteless.

Feminine hygiene products are specifically used for vaginas and periods. Soap isn't specifically used for that. Dial Soap is advertised as a women's product, though. It's also a pretty terrible comparison. You must be a fan.
