If you want to cheap out, you can buy knee pads that aren't specifically for paintball on Amazon for cheaper than any pair of paintball knee pads. I play the snake and am diving constantly, and this pair of knee pads I bought have done just as good as a job as any paintball specific knee pad I've had (GI, Empire). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L379FOA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As for elbow pads, you'd have to look at paintball specific ones as far as I know. Most people like Exalt and PE elbow pads.

u/pushad · 2 pointsr/airsoft

I wear these under my pants and they’ve been great so far. Haven’t had them move at all, don’t really need to fuss around with them at all during a day of airsoft.

Might want to try one of these shirts. (Doesn't ha e to be this brand or style obviously.) They were fairly popular back in the day for people who played paintball near me.

These are a godsend. Never have to wash the "postal tattoo" again.

These are the latest ones I've tried and I really like them. Very inexpensive. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L379FOA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You can look into football padded compression shirts. They won't have total back protection, but the plus side is that they won't weigh you down or hinder mobility. Here are a few examples I found on amazon: one, two, and three.

Picked some up while rehabbing a torn PCL and needed to prevent impact to the front of the knee. Not sure what you need in terms of support but they're lightweight and I don't notice them or have any restriction. They won't lock anything in place or offer much support (comparable to or a bit less than a regular knee compression sleeve) but will reduce impact to the front of the knee.

Hm. Well, I do need something covering my knees. I didn't like the bulkiness of knee pads, because they were heavy and fell, then I went to thse:

https://www.amazon.com/McDavid-Hexpad-Elbow-Black-X-Large/dp/B000UVUCF2/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1501500144&sr=8-15&keywords=knee+guard

but after one game they were stretched out and didn't work.

I've been training steady since last June and have had a number of rib injuries, from sternochondritis and costochondritis to a cracked sternum and separation of the cartilage in my floating ribs. I occasionally still hear and feel a pop when shrimping or twisting while sidemounted by a heavier and/or stronger partner. Though I still get sterno- and costochondritis from time to time those conditions are no longer concerning to me. Those injuries tend to heal within 3 weeks even as I keep training.

BUT the separated cartilage in my floating ribs has been another matter. I kept re-injuring myself there even after once taking 4 weeks off. The only thing that eventually allowed them to heal was this:

[Evoshield Protective Rib Shirt] (http://www.amazon.com/EvoShield-Protective-Rib-Shirt-Large/dp/B00275U6T6/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1398115239&sr=1-1&keywords=EvoShield+Protective+Rib+Shirt)

This thing worked wonders. I took 3 weeks off and came back with this EvoShield thing on -- and it saved my ribs from impact and load stress when thrown, mounted, and sidemounted.

Once it healed I started prehab like crazy on my ribs: rotary torso machine, rowing machine, diverging row machine, pull-ups, rope pull machine, and anything else to strengthen the obliques and intercostals.

I also realized I was making a kind of subtle but important mistake doing breakfalls when being thrown from standup.

What's your budget? I bought knee pads for $14 off amazon.

You could possibly wear a cover sleeve.

>the anecdotes you chose don't mean as much as me and my friends anecdotes - I think police are awesome

oh, ok. The first link I sent isn't even an anecdote, it shows that cumulatively - the most people Toronto police kill (they kill people) are disabled, mentally handicapped and addicts.

here you might kneed these

I’ve found a cheaper padded shirt here:
Jellybro Men's Padded Football Protecitve gear Set Training Suit Rib Protector https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07584QW26/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_EDxwDbMZ4M14B

A more expensive padded shirt, but also seems to not require a chest rig for protection is here:
HK Army Crash Chest Protector - M/L https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06W9FXRVW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_LExwDbZZGMDC0

For the more expensive option, you’d need forearm protection, which can be found here:
Exalt Paintball T3 Elbow Pads - Black/Grey - Medium/Large https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M7NNXMB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_vFxwDbZBBPWWG

This is the fast helmet my brother uses:
ATAIRSOFT PJ Type Tactical Paintball Airsoft Fast Helmet Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ERXWT50/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_NJxwDbEB5XPD8

As for a bigger fast helmet, if you have a bigger head, this is the one I personally use, the mod for the dye also works on this (the visor doesn’t get in the way and can be flipped up):
ATAIRSOFT PJ Type Tactical Multifunctional Fast Helmet with Visor Goggles Version DE https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ENYM142/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_gLxwDb6SS223C

Does anyone train with padded rashguards? My left ribs have been bothering me for a couple of weeks. Went in for x-rays, no fractures or visible bruising. I'm able to wamup, drill, and roll fine, except for the pain when landing on my left side.

I'm thinking of buying something like this - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OGVTA32

Does anyone else train with padded rashguards? Any cons to doing so? Any recommendations to brands or products?

u/lgbtqbbq · 5 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I would suggest wearing it over a thermal neckwarmer or turtleneck. That way your skin-to-wool contact is minimized. Also I was just talking to my coworker about this this morning: wool is way less likely to irritate my eczema/rash-prone skin than acrylic/wool. First step is to get high quality knits that don't have acrylic. The synthetic material traps heat in a very uncomfortable way that wool doesn't (wool "breathes" better) and can lead to dampness and friction.

Wool has a scratchy "feel" but in general (not always) won't cause for-realskies irritation unless you're allergic. It's actually way less irritating than other woven fibers.

Get protective gear.

I started learning aggressive skating recently as well. The first thing I tried was grinding and it didn't go well. I failed the landing on the coping of the box. Somehow I fell in such a way that my shin, right below the knee, slammed into the concrete and steel coping of the box. And somehow that took a small chunk out of my shin. I didn't break anything, and it's healing up well enough, but it sucked. It bled a lot, bloodying my jeans and socks. I got light headed. And I had to bail on the night of skating. And don't want to try again until it's completely healed up.

I've got safety gear now. I went with wrist/hand guards and this type of padding under my clothes https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UVUCF2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . It's just enough to take the edge off, but it's enough to prevent cracked bones and broken skin when hitting concrete. It still hurts like hell though. While it will probably only survive a few falls, it's thin, light, and comfortable enough that I always put them on now.

Why hasn't it spread to the first world, say Japan or Australia or Germany or Spain or England or Holland or...etc.

The field is smaller than a soccer field. The equipment is mostly plastic and foam pads, any country can afford this except maybe the very poorest of the poor in Africa. You can get this for equipment for the same cost as a pair of crappy soccer cleats and shin pads.

http://www.amazon.com/Pro-Down-Bulldog-Shoulder-Pad/dp/B0039E3OKC/ref=pd_sbs_sg_2

http://www.amazon.com/Protection-NJOP-YF-Football-Helmet-Schutt/dp/B0006VX3BQ/ref=pd_sbs_sg_5

Also there are plenty more expensive sports that have spread around the world. Why specifically not football, while even yachting is an Olympics sport and an average F1 formula costs $5 million yet gets millions of viewers in poor countries?
