Those are such great benefits of your weight loss! Thanks for sharing them - it's very motivating to celebrate each other's victories together.

Boy, can I relate to the shaving one. My husband got me one of those suction cup shower foot rests for shaving, and every time I put my foot on it, it just came right off the wall. When I lost weight (and my belly) I could/can just rest my toes on the wall and there's no problem.

And I love that ability to just pop in to a store and grab an article of clothing. I LOVE sailing past the plus-size section and buying from the straight sizes, too.

I also remember when I could cross my legs comfortably. It feels poised and elegant. And now I catch myself sitting with my legs crossed and don't remember doing it!

Thanks for the congrats - I'm pretty proud of myself, even though I still have a ways to go. (I'll get back to you when I get there!)

Yes, Amazon has 2 around $10. I've used the 2.0 GPM for 5 years and it's been great. I regret not getting the 1.5 GPM to save even more water.

1.5 GAL Super Saving "Amazing Shower" $9.99

Super Spray Clean, Water Saving, Low Flow Amazing Shower Head 2.0 Gpm
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003XEZH5I/ $10.62

It was only $5 when I bought it in 2015, but you don't have to get all spendy on name brand to save water and have a good shower.

For cheap - I second the idea of washing your hair separately and then wash your body. You might try doing that with a towel or two wrapped around you so it is easy to throw it/them off and then get in or get under the water.

Another idea is to change out your shower head for one with a flow regulator. They come in a range of prices and quality, but here is one example to show what I mean:
https://www.amazon.com/Pressure-Settings-Handheld-Regulator-Control/dp/B07VQYMBNY/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=show+head+adjust+flow&qid=1568763166&s=gateway&sr=8-1

I have a flow regulator on my shower. (I asked for it for my birthday a few years ago.) In the summer I just stand in the shower and turn down the flow when I don't need a lot of water. Low flow is also nice to help me add water to my hair with leave-in conditioner in, without rinsing it out.

In the winter I'm hoping to develop a routine that keeps me warm, maybe using the towels like I describe above.

Remove the hand shower adapter and install a shower head nipple. As a suggestion, Moen Magnetix is a good option for your situation. You get the shower head where you want it with the option to still use it as a hand shower. Always nice to have a hand shower, even just for cleaning the shower itself.

You did an excellent job...

Only thing I have never understood from American/Canadian bathrooms is the handle to operate the water.

In many parts of the world, the standard is something like this. 1 side that actually gives you an exact temperature where you can leave it on (forever or change it whenever)... And another side for just the amount of water.

Anyway.. just wondering why y'all prefer the American version versus the one that shows you the temperature.

Edit: also, spend $15 and get a nice big showerhead, it will change your world! Something like this or this?

Waterpik makes excellent pulsating shower heads. Here is Amazon's Waterpik + Pulsating search results. Although it's worth noting that all Waterpik's detachable shower heads have the pulsating feature (see the chart in the product description section here).

We have this one in our shower; the original is a classic with a really strong pulse.

Hand held with pretty colors for showering in the dark!!

I'm pretty hum drum when it comes to showering. I get in wash and get out. I usually have a 3 year old banging on the door so it's not relaxing :) I usually do it in the morning since I've been going to bed right after puttin chicken nuggets to bed.

Edit because I forgot rubber ducky :)

First, you're going to think I'm crazy, but trust me. Try this:

I bought one on a lark and ordered a second one less than 24 hours later. The conveniently package the water restrictor separately (so you can use it or not, at your option) and it really does soften the water. We're thrilled with them.

Have you tried using a lower mount for the shower head? I don’t know if you use a shower chair (I do), but if you do having the lower mount is really helpful for hair and means you have to maneuver the hose less. Something like this doesn’t require any “real” installation; it just replaces the original shower head so you can even use it in an apartment.

This is what it sounds like you’re looking for. It’s much longer and made of PVC. I don’t think it’s going to resolve the issue of twisting because I think that has just as much to do with the water pressure, but the length of the hose will make it much less of an issue.

This metal one is even longer, and is cheaper.

you mean something like that:

Thanks for the tip, i'll give it a shot :)

The heating elements are not in the shower head itself but in a box mounted on the wall, through which water is passed before coming to the shower head. They can go upwards of 10 kW, so can easily heat cold water to comfortable showering temperature, although pressure is sometimes an issue, especially on models that aren’t as powerful. e.g.

It's the weekend!

Why WOULDN'T I want a shower head that lights up depending on the temperature of the water coming out of it?? GOSH! ♥

u/fleeting0ne · 1 pointr/Plumbing

Wish I knew. In my limited experience, the hand showers with their own rod last longer, maybe because they're twisted less. A sturdy one acts as a balance, if not grab, bar.

There's a $70 hose that rates and probably holds up well. Tempting to compare its longevity to 7 $10 hoses. Kingston makes a brass one with a lifetime warranty.

u/robobot · 3 pointsr/SCREENPRINTING

A couple things that really help with a home set-up:

  • Get one of those fancy extra-special private time Detachable Shower Heads. It will vastly improve your washouts ...especially if you're currently just relying on gravity for water pressure.

  • Get a heat gun if you need an intermediate step between your hair dryer and a proper drying unit.

  • No matter what your drying situation, you need to buy an infrared thermometer for curing.

  • Until you get a press, you could consider picking up a ~ 18" x 18" piece of laminated melamine (Home Depot will cut it down for you) and a couple of one-hand clamps. The melamine is heat resistant so you can use it to print and to cure. And with the clamps, you can secure the bottom edge of your screen to the pallet and kind of simulate proper off-contact.

I have an led shower head that shows the temp. I like knowing how hot the water is before I jump in. https://www.amazon.com/HotelSpa-Colors-Shower-Temperature-Display/dp/B00JV4RPVI
