After looking at the photos, all I can say is 'wow'. Department store bikes often have bizarre incompatible standards.

But also, when you said a better brakeset I didn't expect it to be a brand I've never heard of and something that looks extremely cheap too. For 5-10 bucks more you could have got a pair of these Shimano rotors and calipers - when it's only that much price difference to get something from a reputable brand it makes no sense to go so cheap, especially on something that's vital to your safety like brakes.
