Continued because it was too long lmao

11.) Something that would have a profound impact on your life and help you to achieve your current goals.
I honestly really want to get into acting. I love movies and TV shows, and I really would love to start acting. For that reason, this book would be a great addition to my library and would probably teach me a lot.
This book also looks like it would be a good learning experience. :)
I found another great read! I'll pretty much take any acting books I can get.

12.) One of those pesky Add-On items.
Pop Funkos are honestly my go-to add-on item. Like this little fella, for instance. Adorable and affordable (did I just make up a saying? I do believe I did).
What's that? Ah, yes. Pops. The source of my broke-ness. Have another..
Oh, you think I'm done. HA. I'm too far deep to dig myself out of the hole that is my ever-growing collection of Pops. Infinity War just came out (no spoilers, I really want to see it but haven't gotten the chance yet), so how about this adorable Thor Pop? Who doesn't love Thor?

13.) Something fandom related. (Sports fandoms are acceptable- bonus if someone figures out my favorite team)
My favorite band happens to be Twenty One Pilots... and this is a pretty sick shirt.
I'm sorry, I'm still thinking about Infinity War from up above. I found a Thanos shirt that is honestly super cool. Like I've never seen it before and now I want it lmao.
I recently got gifted this absolutely gorgeous and cool Hawkeye T-shirt. It has BOTH Hawkeyes from the comics on it! Super cool.

14.) Something ridiculously priced, more than $10,000. They exist, y’all.
Who the absolute heck buys a $180,000 watch?! Not me, that's for sure.
I'm honestly not even sure what this is, but it's expensive as heck and you could put that money toward an ACTUAL CAR.
Y'all need a parking lift? I gotchu.

15.) Something with sharks or unicorns.
Who doesn't love socks?. Especially socks with unicorns.
You ask for sharks, I get you sharks.
Also no joke this is the cutest thing I've ever seen oh my gosh.

16.) Something that smells wonderful.
I have a cinnamon candle (not that exact one) and I absolutely love it to death.
Who doesn't love coconut lime? I know I love it.
Have you ever thought to yourself, "damn, I really like me the smell of cilantro"? Well, look no further.

17.) A toy that you wanted or had when you were a child that was the best ever, or (if it’s not on amazon) a toy that you think is pretty cool now (Funko Pops, etc., will count.)
If you never played Clue, did you ever really have a childhood?
Another cool toy I had was something like this cool tent-like bus. The one I had had separate sections that were detachable. It was super cool.
I know it's not technically a toy, but I used to watch The Land Before Time ALL the time. I still love that show. It's so, so good.

18.) Something that would be helpful for writers.
Just getting started on writing? Writing for Dummies is always a good place to start.
If you're writing (especially on a computer), you're gonna eventually need some Advil, whether it's from writer's block or a headache from staring at the computer screen too long.
I know it might not be considered useful, but I always thought an ink pen was super cool to have, especially for writers.

19.) Something related to your current obsession, whatever that may be.
I don't know why, but I suddenly really like Harley Quinn's character. I've been getting, like all the Funko Pops of her. I have a problem.
Oh gosh, you shouldn't have asked. I finally finished catching up to The Walking Dead, and now I want everything Negan related. Like, seriously, I just bought a bloody Lucille of my own. Someone stop me. Anyway, here's a cute little Lucille keychain that I've never seen before.
Another thing I really like is Kylo Ren, but I think you already know that. This BrickHeadz is adorable.

20.) Something that is just so random and weird that it makes you laugh.
This oh my gosh i am dying.
Also idk why but just the lady's posture and the huge heckin' bear is k i l l i n g me.
I don't know how I stumbled upon this weirdass thing but the more I look at it the funnier it is.

Also, this whole thing took me like an hour but it was so much fun. Thanks for the contest!

It's been years since I've used RedX personally, but I remember somehow targeting listings that expired 8 to 15 months previous that hadn't been re-listed after expiring. I'm trying to remember whether we used RedX for that or not; I don't know if it lets you go that far back or if it's just 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, etc. It seems like I do specifically remember having to manually check via MLS to see that the property hadn't been re-listed and subsequently sold. It wasn't the most simple process, but ended up being worth it for two reasons...

The benefit of targeting the OLD expired listings was that we had the advantage of being able to tell the homeowner that home values in their area had increased, possibly allowing them to get what they were hoping from the sale of their home. This piqued their interest enough to at least let us run a CMA for them, get their email address, and start a conversation. It was a good foot-in-the-door. Secondly, there are much fewer agents targeting the old expireds, so you're not competing with every other agent who chases expireds... marketing to listings that expired 30/60/90 days ago leads to a lot of agitated homeowners who have been dealing with a lot of agents via phone, in their mailbox, and even at their front door. It can get a little overwhelming for them, so they're either hostile when you reach them, or they're just tuning you out completely.

Regardless of whether you're targeting fresh expireds or older expireds, the best way to stand out is to spend more money than your competitors. Depending on the average home value of your target prospects, you'll have to determine what amount is "worth it" to spend on trying to catch their attention.

For example, the best expired listing campaign I ever saw was one I helped facilitate for a high-end brokerage. They got a list of expired listings (with higher price points) each week, and had a courier service hand-deliver a parcel to the homeowners. The "parcel" was a plain white medium-sized pizza box like this. When you first grab the box, you'll immediately hear and feel something rolling around inside of it, so right away there's some curiosity and engagement for whoever is holding it. When opened, the interior lid of the box had a 8.5" x 11" full-color sticker with our branding, photo, boastable bullet points, etc., and the big headline said, "Listing with XYZ Realty Means More EYES on Your Property!" and the box contained 3 to 5 rubber bouncy balls that looked like eyeballs. Also inside the box was a market report for their home, a letter from the broker, and our listing brochures and marketing materials.

We would order the supplies in bulk and build 50 of the "kits" at a time. Each week, for the list of 5 or 6 expired listings we wanted to target, we'd print their market report from the MLS and add it to the correct box, and call the courier to come pick them up. I think we had about $2.50 in supplies and materials for each of the boxed kits, and we had a deal worked out with a courier service that ended up costing us around $18 per kit for courier delivery. A $12-per-hour office assistant could easily put together 50 of them in 4.5 hours.

In the end, it was less than $25 per kit for supplies, materials, labor, and delivery, and it had about a 20% success rate, sometimes greater if the follow-up team was on the ball. Assuming we sent out 5 to 7 boxes per week for a year, at a cost of $25 per box and assuming a 20% success rate, that's spending about $125 to get a new listing. In terms of ROI, that's pretty great! But that's just an example... this was in 2008, so there are probably better methods these days, but the point is to stand out and catch their attention.

Good luck, OP!

Since people have covered the "what do I do with my abilities", here's a couple notes on supplies.

The Player's Handbook has a good selection of supplies. Ask your DM what your funds are (or if you're limited to your standard starting goods), and browse.

In general, my recommendation for a new player is to take:

  • a weapon that seems fun or flavorful (for a cleric, you probably want a one-handed weapon, so you can still cast),

  • a generic adventurer's pack of your choice (it's a good "starter pack" of sorts),

  • an item of personal value or superstition to your character (a cleric will have a holy symbol, but is there something else they hold valuable? There's also a table for selecting a valueless free trinket in the player's handbook)

And then, if you have any remaining gold, I would recommend saving some of it (your character should still be able to afford food and lodging)- but honestly, just have a look through the equipment tables and see what's interesting for the rest. A mirror for looking around corners? Extra lamp oil? Whatever you think your character will use and what tells a good story.

    As for outside-the-game equipment:

  • A good character sheet (the default's fine!)

  • Pencil, and spare paper of some sort (you don't want to note-take everything, but noting things your character would remember that you may not will save your hide.

Most other materials are extras, and "nice to haves".

If you end up playing a lot, you can also purchase:

  • A deck of spell cards for your class of choice (5E Cleric/etc cards here) - this is to make spellcasting easier to track. There's also a variety of digital tools for this, though - I just personally prefer keeping my phone and computer put away if possible, to prevent being distracted

  • If playing in-person, you might consider finding a miniature to represent a character that you are fond of and you believe to be long-term. I wouldn't do this unless you've played for a bit, love your character, and trust your group to continue. Also, keep in mind that depending on group your character can die. Buy figures for characters you want to remember after the game is over, or you could reuse. Some people use HeroForge for this, but there's no shame in a generic mini.

    TLDR
The Player's Handbook will generally not guide you wrong in terms of reccomended starting equipment- there should be some notes in the class and background that you've chosen.

Outside the game, the general rule is bring you, your character sheet, a pencil, and a willingness to roleplay and learn. You'll figure out what else you want as you go.

In general: this game is fun, do what you think will be fun, and don't worry too much about being effective! For your abilities, trust the advice of the wizened gurus who have posted their advice - but keep in mind, ultimately, the goal you have is to have fun, and so you should take what you think would be cool.

Sure! There are a ton of great keychain accessories out there but the criteria for mine are all items must:

1: Be < 2" (Preferably 1.5")

2: Fit in my pockets comfortably (jeans)

3: Be used at least once every 3 months
(Ambu Pouch excluded)

Accessories used Most - Least

The Freekey Sytem is the foundation of the keyring and is one of those products that is so elegant in its simplicity and functionality that it seems like it should have been invented years ago.

The SOG Straight Edge Key Knife comes sharp and has held an edge pretty well over the last few months. With its tiny blade it's not going to replace your Ka-Bar anytime soon but I can almost garuntee that you will use it more frequently.

The Swiss+ Tech 6 in 1 Utility Key coupled with The Infora Key Multitool seems to be gaining ground to overtake the SOG Key Knife as top tool in the line up with flat and Phillips screwdriver heads, bottle opener, and serrated blade.

The Streamlight Nano LED Flashlight is an awesome addition to the gang and probobly the one that has saved my ass the most, there are too many times I've wasted time looking for a light source in the dark.

The 2.0 64 GB Kingston Data Traveler SE9 USB drive. Reasonable speed coupled with great durability. The cast in keyhole eliminates the possibilty of losing the USB from a weak tether and defiantly holds a perminent place in my top 5 keychain accesories. Along with its basic utility I keep a file named "If Found: Reward" on it with my information in case I lose my key ring.

The True Utility TelePen telescoping keychain pen is one of those items that doesent get the everyday recognition the others do but is totally fucking clutch when you do need it. I owe a couple side projects I've picked up to this pen, partly because of the writing aspect but more from it as a talking piece.

The InCharge Ultra Portable Charging Cable is a cool little accessory that I thought would get the boot initially but saved my ass when I was in transit and my buddy only had an Apple cable with his charger.

The True Utility FireStash Keyring Lighter is the only item on the list that I haven't actually "needed" but will probobly keep anyway because fire is such a basic necessity and if I ever DO need it I'm probobly going to name my kids True and Utility.

The Ambu Res-Cue keychain CPR mask rounds out the list but might be the most important. Along with it being being a valuable lifesaving/self protection asset it's also super useful for locating my keys. I once read something about humans being able to see more shades of red than any other color and that our minds are geared to "ook out for it. Whether that's true or not it's always the first thing I see when I misplace them and because of its shape it stops my keys from going between the seats.

I didn't have a ton of time to type this up because I'm on my phone at work but I hope this helps!

Here is one of my Raffy's

All of the Munny figures are really great. They are made wonderfully and feel really nice. Here are other characters:

  • Munny

  • Foomy

  • Trikky

And then there are Tokidoki DIYs that are beautiful:

  • Unicorno I love this one, its kind of big and such a beautiful shape. I haven't made mine yet because I love it so much that I'm nervous hahaha

  • Adios. I don't have this one, but I think he's awesome. I want to get him soon because with how much I love the Unicorno I assume he's probably great too.

There are a few other DIY brands. They even have blank my little ponies (the classic MLP). There are a bunch though. The other cool ones I was thinking of that I liked are currently unavailable, but periodically poke around and look for "DIY blank figures"on amazon and they sometimes have neat random ones.

Raffy is personally my favorite of the Kidrobot Munny figures. I don't know why. xD

If your cousin likes "girly" stuff, there are these adorable little squishy toys you can buy, theyre like $7 and come in any cute animal or food you can think of. My dad got me some to make me feel better after a friend of mine died, and they're really wonderful, despite being marketed for kids. Theyre like, stress balls but for people who like cutesy animals.

I have this one thats a hamburger cat, it's cute (and also fun to squeeze to death when you're mad LOL)

It may not be the kind of thing she likes though, which if thats the case then sorry haha. I personally love anything cute (my bedroom looks like a 7 yr old girls dream) but it's certainly not everyones cup of tea.

Hi! Thanks for this contest!

I think that the floating shelves on your wishlist will help you feel accomplished when you get them done! I installed some a couple weeks ago, and I can’t stop looking at them and feeling proud of myself! That’s a good step for self care ♥️

I have a fidget toy on my wishlist to help my hair pulling (trichotillomania) and using it would be one step towards self care too!; it helps my anxiety tics! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073NC5RGT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_8ypVDbEE7DVZ7

♥️ best wishes!

During this stage, I used "treasure baskets" a lot. I tried to keep one in each room that kiddo spent much time in. And I had basic categories of toys that I kept in each basket.

  • Something that rolls

  • Something that rattles

  • Something soft

  • Something to chew

And “toy” didn’t always have to be a toy in the traditional sense. For a rolling object, we used balls but also used shower puffs. Something soft might be a small stuffed animal, or it might be a fuzzy sock. We let kiddo's interests guide this process. If he found something fascinating and it was safe for him to play with, we put it in a basket. If it wasn’t safe, we tried to find something similar that was safe.

Some of kiddo's favorite toys from this time:

  • Baby shoes

  • Jicaro nut

  • Vuvuzela

  • Plastic tubes

  • Weighted wobble toy

  • Small car

  • Shower puffs

  • Egg shaker

  • Hacky Sack

  • Teether

Once he was crawling and becoming interested in the kitchen cabinet, we emptied one cabinet out for him to play with. We put some baby-safe containers and dishes inside, and let him do whatever he wanted.

We really didn’t buy much in the way of toys for this stage. A few hand-me-downs, and a few stuffed animals. Nothing really worth noting.
u/bubonis · 4 pointsr/geocaching

I don't think I ever went through the app basics (I started with Geocaching for Dummies) so my advice will be the things I picked up on my own.

What /u/bnelson333 says is a great foundation, especially (IMO) the part about writing something better than just "TFTC" in your logs. As a cache hider I enjoy reading people's experiences and reactions with my caches.

Beyond his advice, and beyond the obvious need for a GPS (either a dedicated one or a smartphone with an appropriate app), I would also suggest putting together a simple geocaching kit. What goes into the kit depends on how you like to do things. At bare minimum you're going to want to bring a pen/pencil; I keep this one on my keychain for those spur-of-the-moment finds. In addition to the pen/pencil, a fanny pack should provide space for the essentials: gardening gloves, small first aid kit (band-aids and antibiotic ointment), bug spray (something with DEET in it), needlenose tweezers (useful for extracting and rewrapping scroll logs, also for removing ticks), a small assortment of tokens for trading, and a small flashlight. I also recommend an emergency rain poncho as they're cheap (I get mine at Five Below for a buck apiece) and eventually you will need one. You're also going to want to bring along a water bottle as caching can be thirsty work.

Beyond that, you might want to consider adding basic field cache maintenance bits; paper towels, plastic ziplok bags, extra log scrolls/note pads, and camo duct tape, for example. I've also found that a good walking stick — a sturdy branch, maybe 5' tall, reasonably straight — is very handy for poking around in bushes and leaves, and especially holding in front of your face as you walk through brush. You know that feeling you get when you walk into a spider web? Yeah. Walking stick.

Sonya, Your Momma wouldn't tell you this but there's a lot of mean people and most will only do mean things to get a reaction out of you. Staying calm and slightly amused will piss them off and they'll stop being mean. Also, you don't have to do everything to please your friends. Stay true to yourself and do whatever makes you happy.

Something that every 9 year old wants? Apparently slime and squishes.

u/Tossitup678 · 2 pointsr/Warhammer40k

Ehhhh, if you converted them pretty heavily but it’s hard for people not to see what the original units were.

For something like this I might look 3rd party. I think a mecha suit like this fits the aesthetic you want: https://www.amazon.com/Mantic-Games-MGWPE402-Strider/dp/B01M2TUCF6/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=warpath+game&qid=1557243459&s=gateway&sr=8-1

Warpath looks like it has a decent range of minis that could be either Sentinels or Ogryns. Weapon swap them and they’ll fit right into 40k Guard.

u/bmeislife · 1 pointr/robotics

I have an idea for my first robotics project! I want to make a random number generator out of one of these pin art toys. Specifically, I would use it for D&D. My idea is to use two seven segment displays, where each piece of the display will move vertically up or down depending on what number is displaying. So the pin art toy would be laying down horizontally and the seven segment display pieces would move vertically from underneath to cause a number to display in the pin art.

Here is my question: is there a better way to move the pieces of the seven segment display other than using fourteen separate linear servos?

If I bought fourteen these small linear servos, the total would be $95+ (USD) after shipping. I've got most of a materials list completed and all the servos make up ~60% of the cost of this project. I would be very appreciative of other ideas for how to more efficiently move each of the segments individually. Or if there are more affordable linear servos out there that I haven't found, I would also be thankful!

u/LordMaejikan · 1 pointr/beards

Nice that sounds like it must work pretty well, too! As for a vacuum, I just use a small hand vac, but I think something like this lil' guy would be perfect.

u/malheather · 1 pointr/psychotherapy

I give these to patients and they love the shit out of em. They're adorable. Since you only need 13 you can put several in each basket. :)

The closest miniature I've found is "Kurz, Half-Orc" from Reaper Miniatures. It's a half-orc with an orc double axe that appears to be wearing medium armor. It certainly hits all the points you're looking for.

Another option would be Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures. The mini on the right is a female half-orc, although is certainly androgynous enough to pass as male. This would present a much less "savage" look with a more svelte body type, although it doesn't have a true double axe and appears to be wearing heavy armor.

The final option I can think of is, as /u/AWildGazebo mentioned, Hero Forge. It's a bit more pricey - ~$20 per mini plus shipping - but it's also has the most customization. I was able to make a pretty simple half-orc using the site's build tools, and it only took a few minutes. Definitely a good option if you want to make something that doesn't quite exist in the realm of pre-made miniatures.

>such as games

Well, if you mean boardgames then a lot of games come out of Germany (especially when you consider the prestigious Spiel des Jahres award and things like the Essen show) and many have larger German print runs than English. So sometimes you have a lot more luck searching in German - I just ordered a copy of Der Verzauberte Turm and that was the only place I could find it from (amazing game if you have kids, by the way).

^(edit: minor fact-checking)

If you are ready to invest a little money to this hobby I recommend the True Utility Keychain pen. It is compact, goes on your keyring, and the pen is snapped on to the lid very securely so it does not fall off of the ring like some keychain pens. It is about 10 bucks.

I'm finding it difficult to understand. Why does it have to fit in your wallet? I understand you want to keep it organized so that you just have to to pick up your wallet rather than remember more stuff. HOWEVER, don't you have keys on you when your out of your home? Why don't you just get a little pen with a keyring on it? That way the pen can be even smaller than if it had to be card sized/shaped, its easier to hold precisely which is important for legible writing, and I'd imagine alot easier to get ink refils. That's just how I'd solve this. http://www.amazon.com/Utility-TU246-TelePen-Telescoping-Refills/dp/B007IOHPKY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405300688&sr=8-1&keywords=True+Utility+TU246

You can find a slightly lower price on Amazon. I prefer the telescoping version. It is not cheap, but totally worth it in my opinion. Extremely solid construction that holds up next to my keys and change, and I never find myself accidentally inking the inside of my pocket. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VC3FBS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_uwirDbR6A4FMV

I know not everyone would consider spending that much on a pen, but there are cheaper options that will fit in a pocket or on your keychain. Here's one I used for a while that is only $9. I liked it, but the thinness of the barrel made it difficult for me to write legibly. YMMV. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007IOHPKY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_xtirDbT4KKDY1

I'm too cold to think of anything. A box of squishies arrived the other day (stocking stuffers) and they are SOOOO CUTE and so squishy I can totally understand now why each kid has asked for some. Not sure if they meant these squishies or the stinky foam ones, but these are the ones they're getting. The closer we get to Christmas the more I get the "Well, they better learn to live with it" attitude, lol.

Play dough, slime, slinkies, and squeeze balls!

Play dough is probably the cheapest and easiest to obtain out of all of these products. Also, this amazon box has a lot of things my therapist has in her office to fidget with during sessions. It’s ~$18 but it has a lot of good products in it!

Don't worry about bugging the other passangers. The majority of them have flown with a baby and know how stressful it is for the parents, so they are usually pretty understanding.

>We don’t want to succumb to using the iPad to distract her

Seriously? On a five hour flight? You do whatever works, instead of worrying about screen time. A flight is not the time or place to set screen time limits.

When my daughter was that age-ish, I packed a bag with various "surprises" for the flight - and when things started to go south, I'd pull something new from the bag. This only works if the "surprise" items are things your kiddo has not played with before.

These are a must because they are pretty magical and no-mess:

https://www.melissaanddoug.com/water-wow-animals---on-the-go-travel-activity/5376.html

If you'll be sitting by the window, get some static clings, colorforms, or those gummy re-usable window stickers for the plane window and the wall of the plane.

Some fidgets:

Check out the dollar section at the front of Target - sometimes they have unusual items that might be entertaining for a kid on a plane flight. Also, if your kiddo likes certain characters or animals, tey might enjoy blind bags (my kiddo loved the Puppy In My Pocket blind bags, though your kiddo may be a little young - you can make your own "blind bags" by wrapping small animals, little people, stuffed animals, etc. in wrapping paper for her to open if thigs get really bad).

Bring lots of snacks - even junky snacks that you would not normally give - and something to drink (either from a sippy cup or bottle) when the plane is taking off and landing (to help with the pressure on her ears).

This is pretty much what I always have on me if I know I'll need a lighter, or a pen, or a bottle opener I'll grab something a little easier to use. But 99 times out of 100 I've got this as a bare minimum on my person.

Seiko SKX007 on a Perlon band

Victorinox Classic SD

  1. Go check your lost and found, it's better than abandoning the possibility of finding it.

  2. Why not just put a keyring around 3 or so of the middle coils on a spiral notebook?

  3. There are plenty of keychain pen options to choose from, see below.

  4. Never leave the house without a knife and a light.

  5. You may want to consider pocket carry for all this just because nobody I've known has ever liked the jangle-jangle, and you'll want to be able to remove items easily.

    Affordable pen option:

You could try something like this, this, or this. I used the first one linked for a long time but sometime a while ago disconnected and I never got around to replacing it.

EDIT: Forgot to add this one.

A tiny weak vacuum is probably with a disposable bag would be perfect.

Does anyone know if this would work?

u/Arcelebor · 1 pointr/CGPGrey

For the pen, might I suggest an Inka or Telepen? Right now my keyring contains more tools than keys and is very handy for that purpose.

I have a small Henry desk vacuum that's a teeny tiny replica of the big guy.
