This is very difficult to do as most people didnt place in bronze and climb to grandmaster. I sit around masters as a DPS main and never placed an account I was half way trying on lower than plat but I have seen gameplay from below that so please forgive me if I am too harsh.

  1. Bronze:
-Hardware. Make sure you have a headset (So you can her people walking up). Clean mousepad. A mouse instead of a trackpad. Can hold at least 60FPS on low graphics. A monitor rather than a TV.
  2. Silver:
-Positioning. Watch streamers in diamond (not grandmaster) They'll have good positioning that will help you climb. Master and GM change up positioning a bit further that are more difficult to replicate and less advantageous for someone below masters. Diamond positioning is optimal.
  3. Gold:
-Grouping Up: You are at your most effective when you are with the team. Let the tanks engage and then rush in. You will thrive in the chaos. Don't trickle in.
  4. Plat:
-At this point you're good enough at the game your accuracy falls into this a great deal. Try an run around 4000 eDPI (Give or take a thousand) Larger mousepad would be advised. This for example. Arm aiming for tracking and wrist for flick shots. You'll play very poorly at first but after a week or two you'll be better than you were.
  5. Diamond:
-Hardware: 144hz Monitor. Hold at least 144FPS+ while on low.
-Settings: Play full screen. Not Borderless Windowed. Turn off VSync. Turn on Reduce Buffering.
-Solo, Duo: Duo is the way to go to climb if you can play consistently. If you and your friend are unable to play together consistently I advise just solo queuing. Solo is no where near as fun but necessary to climb. You just have to put in the time.
  6. Masters:
-I'll let you know when I find out.

yeah, i would have gone with 36" if i had one lying around like i did that old one. i may go get a new door at some point though, cause they have 80x36 ones like this http://www.homedepot.com/p/Steves-Sons-36-in-x-80-in-Composite-Unfinished-Flush-Interior-Door-Slab-Q68FHFCNAC99/100086151

and theyre cheap enough too. probably should have just went and got one of those for this, but just didnt feel like unscrewing the legs and redoing all the cables. laziness cost me 6"!

and yeah, these mousepads are great. theyre big, look/feel nice and a lot of the designs are only like $17 https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FVIYNJ4/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and ive loved my paradigms since i got them way back in 2000. great speakers! and my SVS pb2000 is just out of that picture. i like my games and music loud.

Not directly a keyboard question, but I need suggestions on a USB hub and a desk mat.

I'd like at least a four-port hub that could support my keyboard (which is backlit, if that matters) and mouse, and maybe couple flash drives or two. Six ports minimum would probably be perfect but I think I could deal with four.

For the desk mat, I need something 36"×12" or smaller (keyboard tray on my desk is this size). I'd like something that can double as a mouse pad, if that makes a difference. Something like this without the phone kickstands (can't use 'em anyway) and smaller. I'd prefer plain black, but I can deal with patterned if I like the pattern.

u/SnillorLFC · 1 pointr/gaming

I'm sure most comments will say there isn't a difference, but I like my mousepad a lot.

http://www.amazon.com/Rocketfish-RF-MSEPAD-Mouse-pad-black/dp/B001719CMI

I got it for ~$20 at Best Buy and I have a logitech g5 mouse. I bought it on a whim due to a gift card and actually feel I've improved in all my online games with it. If you are willing to take the $20 risk, perhaps you'll find you enjoy it as much as I do.

u/t1m1d · 5 pointsr/buildapc

I use this. It was cheap but it's probably the best mousepad I've ever used. It has an interesting feel but it tracks great.

u/PantsOfAwesome · 2 pointsr/buildapc

From what I've heard, the QCK is very good. Personally, I use a Razer Goliathus Extended (Speed version). I tried the control version of the Razer Goliathus, but I hated it, so I got the speed version. I like the speed version a lot more.

So if I had to say so myself, go with the Goliathus speed version. There's 4 sizes, so pick one you like. I like the extended one, because I can fit my keyboard on it with my mouse.

Edit: http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Goliathus-Extended-Mouse-Pad-Speed/dp/B004JMZXMA/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1371330547&sr=8-6&keywords=razer+goliathus+speed

Also, the Goliathus has these awesome weaved edges that prevent the top of the mousepad from peeling off.

u/tmluna01 · 1 pointr/MouseReview

They're custom-cut Teflon feet which have rounded edges. They're basically like Hyperglides since they're 100% PTFE, and they're also 0.8mm thick. They're also smaller at 7mm wide. They work great on my custom mouse pad.

The original inspiration came from Artisan's mouse feet for the Microsoft Intellimouse: https://www.amazon.ca/ARTISAN-NISHIKI-Type-2-Premium-mouse/dp/B0074S2Q1W

Since the Skoll also uses Intellmouse feet, it was an easy mod.

u/ninox_bst · 2 pointsr/MouseReview

Get yourself some microfiber towels and isopropyl alcohol, works well. Just splash a bit of the alcohol onto the towel, wipe the pad over and it'll dry pretty fast.

Also I use this mouse pad which is water resistant, stops anything soaking into the material, so its easy to keep it clean. The glide and quality of the pad is also good: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07GJJV2TY/

Edit: btw you only need like 70% iso alcohol, don't get the 90%+ stuff, it doesn't need to be that strong.

The keyboard and mouse pad would sync, mouse aswell if you get a CM one with RGB. I’d recommend an mm830
u/anoxy · 1 pointr/battlestations

Nice set-up. But I think you need a less gaudy mousepad for ultimate sophisticated status. Maybe an Artisan Hayate?

Also, how's the ips glow on your U2713hm? It looks like you have a bit of the usual yellowish glow on the bottom left like me?

u/Finrecon · 2 pointsr/G502MasterRace

I have the Roccat Taito Mid Size 3MM mouse pad. It's been great. I've used it for well over a year now and it still looks almost new. It also feels pretty good under my G502 and my palm. https://www.amazon.com/ROCCAT-TAITO-Mid-Size-Gaming-Mousepad/dp/B001FVW6DM

u/mult1kill · 1 pointr/MouseReview

Every time I've tried hyper glides i've been satisfied. Thought I'd share some artisan stuff. I've been quite interested in the mouse skates they've had for a while now.

u/chicken_combo · 3 pointsr/gamingpc

I've used this for a while. It's pretty awesome if you use a laptop on a soft surface since its a nice sturdy piece of metal.

u/Spamballs · 2 pointsr/summonerschool

> Should I start learning how to attack with right click?

  • If you feel you need it then you can, but many people use only one or the other. It's a matter of preference. There are advantages to using both in different situations though - right clicking is faster than a+click but some people find orbwalking easier with a+click. Try and find what works for you and stick with it.

    > What DPI and in game mouse speed do I use?

  • I believe my mouse is set to 800 DPI in my 3rd party software (Razer Naga - gone soon can't wait) and I use an in game mouse speed of 65 on an Artisan Hayate mousepad.

This looks like it. There’s also the new 4K Blu-ray that recently came out but if he’s a huge fan he’s already got that like most of us.

u/Polar1ty · 1 pointr/leagueoflegends

I use a LogiLink Gaming Mousepad which is extra large because I am a lowsense player meaning I need to move my mouse a lot. (2/10 windows, 1800 dpi and almost lowest scroll speed in LoL)

If you don't move your mouse that much you can use a smaller mousepad.

The only difference in my opinion is the surface, I got something that is similiar to some sort of cotton with "rubber" below, meaning it doesn't move at all.

Then there are mousepads which are small and have some plastic surface, this may increase your precision.

I think more than 20€ is way too much for a mousepad.

Some good mousepad

This is my mousepad

Edit: there are also some extras like a surface for your hand so you experience more comfort, unnecessary in my opinion.

u/smudi · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

That looks like a low priced knock-off of this Perixx DX-2000 XXL Mouse Pad. Same size, thickness, and even the seems around the edge are stitched similarly.

I would argue that the extended size Perixx is one of the best looking pads around. Certainly better than that god awful Razer pad.

As for the quality, I have the "Large" version, which is quite a nice pad. Feels good, there isnt any extra resistance when moving the mouse, nor is there too little resistance. It's got the same clean look. The only real downside I have with it, is that it rather minimally slides around on my desk as I have it positioned. Although a simple readjustment and that problem is remedied. The huge extended size one I doubt would have that issue, seeing as it is massive and should get stuck in place.

u/The_Russian · 1 pointr/buildapc

Heres a good one for just the mouse. Here is a pretty large one. This looks like one that you can use for the entirety of your keyboard and mouse.

u/bui1t · 1 pointr/battlestations

It's a great pad for the price, I grabbed one for $14 on sale. Though the texture is the roughest of all my cloth pads, my arm doesn't glide well on it which gets irritating. It's a good pad more on the speed side than control. If you want something that's very smooth on the touch, and slightly bigger vertically(18in opposed to 15.7in), check out the Subzero mat. I had the regular size for a year and loved it so upgraded to mammoth, no regrets, and fantastic price.

u/IIdsandsII · 20 pointsr/mildlyinteresting

i have one, and i think it's nicer than the OPs. it has an actual cloth-like, velvet surface. it took some breaking in (where the velvet slowed the mouse), but now i love it. i'd say it took a few days to break in.

this is the one i got: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FH9DTBA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/Garumeg · 4 pointsr/buildapcsales

I have a similar one from another chinese brand, I like their designs better (no branding and better overall prices). Only thing is that they aren't rgb, so your gaming performance may not be the same. Check it out and ask me anything. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0751B5MG6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

u/jplevs · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I got a random one on amazon for like $10. The designs might not be the best but the quality is really good

this one specifically

u/Tribe_Called_K-West · 5 pointsr/buildapcsales

You can find Chinese extended mousepads for around $10 all day everyday. Different designs or color cost more, but most share the same measurements and specs as these. Example:

Flags for $9

Old timey pirate ship and world map for $17

Tons of randomness for $21

ENCHANCE for $20

Some more randomness for $16

Simple colors but double the thicnkess (6mm) for $20

And more if you keep looking.

I bought this knock-off about 6 months ago and it was a game changer for me. Not only does it ensure that you never have to pull hard because your cable is caught on something, it holds the cable up off the mousepad, so there is zero resistance from the cable. Totally worth $15, probably more.

Hence me reaching out! I'm in a weird situation since most folks don't opt for it with a smaller board size and have longer desks/like having lots of space for the mouse. I just don't have the room nor do I want a ton of desk space taken up by the mat.. I've found one thanks to /u/fiuffyrabbit on amazon I might try out.

u/Jemjem787 · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Did a quick amazon search and got this. Also, there is a flea market near me with giant desk size mouse pads for 50$, they will even custom cut them for you. Maybe look at local computer stores as well? I am sure at least a few people would know where to find them.

I've been using this one without a problem for years. It's starting to wear a bit and probably will have to get replaced soon. But I think the skipping issue that has recently started is more a husky fur problem in the mouse. I have cleaned it out 5 times a day for the past week. Got to love coat blowing season. But my husband used this for a couple of years and then gave it to me. I've been using it for at least 3 to 4. He gave it to me because of the size. He was using it for graphic work.

Here's a really big mouse pad, except it's only 400mm high, and here's an even bigger one that's almost 600mm high, but why do you want the vertical height to be over half a meter?

I use a slightly different mouse but when my current one dies I will be replacing it with this

Stitch a few of these together and BAM! you got yourself a mousepad the size of a small room

There are quite a few options on Amazon (and more on eBay, where the styles and perhaps quality are even more varied). Three mats that have no text/logo on the front and Prime shipping include:

  • Vipamz - 36"x12"x0.12" - black stitching - $11.99

  • OPCC - 23.6"11.8"0.12" - red or blue stitching - $8.77

  • GGing 36"x18"x0.12"- Maroon pad with black stitching - $17.99 - I got this in purple for a friend who's quite happy with it.

If you want to go full-desk, there's one with two folding phone/tablet stands built-in. It measures 34" x 23"x0.13" for only $18.99 (non-Prime free shipping):
    Jelly Comb

I've seen some on eBay that go up to a meter / 40" across, though most ship from China, which can take significantly longer and there is probably no returning it if it's not to your liking.

.012-0.13" or 3mm seems to be the default thickness, though you can find heavy mouse pads that run 5-6mm thick. It doesn't change the surface, and flat on a desk, neither thickness should bunch-up on you.

Stitching around the edge prevents the cloth surface from peeling, which may or may not happen without it. It sometimes depends on how it's made, but whether your wrist rubs over the edge can also make a difference (stitching does make the edge thicker, though, so if that is the case, a stitched edge may be more annoying than the plain one).

I use this 24" mouse pad and it's enough for my 80% keyboard (CM Quickfire Rapid) and my Mionix Castor. And no, it doesn't make it feel mushy.

You could try getting an extended mouse mat and putting the keyboard on that. that might stop it from resonating so much.
