36. Center Cut Microfiber Golf Towel 16"x40" (Black)

    Features:
  • SIMPLE DESIGN - The 16"x40" with a center hole cut, drapes over your carry bag, and through your clubs to make access a breeze. Riding in a cart? Take your microfiber golf towel with you to the green and lay your putter and wedge grips down to keep dry. Walking? Keep your towel draped through your clubs to keep down chatter and easy access.
  • POWER OF MICROFIBER - The microfiber waffle weave material is super absorbent and extremely effective at cleaning grips, grooves, and club heads. Keep one side of the towel dry for drying your hands and grips, and the other side damp for cleaning club heads and grooves. The waffle weave material doesn’t pick up loose debris that can attach to other fabrics.
  • LIGHTWEIGHT – Weighing in at 6 ounces dry, this golf towel is not bulky or heavy, even when one end is wet. Carry your golf towel on your bag without worrying about adding weight to your bag.
  • EASY TO USE & MANAGE – You don’t have a caddie; you’re here to play some Golf. You need a simple and effective towel design to keep your sticks in prime scoring condition. That means dry hands, and clean grips, and grooves free of mud and grass.
  • BLACK, DARK NAVY BLUE - This dark towel is great for hiding dirt and grass stains. The shade of black isn't super dark (it is not possible with microfiber for technical reasons). Some people see the towel as black, and other see it as a dark navy blue. If you want midnight black, this isn't the towel for you!

There was nothing that I left at home that I wished I had brought with me. But there were things that I brought with me that I should have left at home. You can always buy things along the way - clothes are the easiest to buy, but if you have a favourite style/brand of underwear, that would be the only thing I would recommend you take enough of.

Minimize adapters, chargers, cords as much as you can. I found that a good power board/strip (with USB) and 3m cord came in very handy, similar to this, where you can plug in your gadgets, etc from your country, but just use one adapter. And the long cords helps in hotel rooms and apartments so you can maximise your work area.

A large collapsible umbrella. Many here I am sure would find it unnecessary, but if you are travelling for work (in tropical areas especially) and need to get places dry, a good large umbrella is worth its weight in gold. You might only use it a few times a month, but it keeps you and your things dry. Don't go for a small "travel size" one, get a large, automatic-opening one like this.

It does depend on how much you will be moving around. If you are only moving every 2-3 weeks, that would be very different to if you were moving every 2-3 days. Too much luggage is just a PITA to get to from hotels/airports, no matter who is paying for it. I used a baglike this one and started with 20kg (absolutely full!), but now I have left some things behind and it is 16kg, plus I always have a small backpack for my laptop/electronics and a change of clothes for carryon. Less is best.

I use a unique colored sharpie (specifically, teal) and one of THESE to make a perfectly straight line all the way around the ball.

In an effort to not scuff the line on drives, i actually make the line parallel to the leading edge of the club. then i focus on having the face as square as the line at impact.

When putting, i use the line to aim. As a bonus, it will show you how straight you hit your line because the line will roll straight if you hit it straight. it will wobble or be a wide blur if you hit it off-center.

Im a pretty good putter and average 33 putts per round. one time, while playing with my roommate, he made back to back birdies from about 10-12 ft, one uphill, one downhill. i asked him if he did anything different and he said "you know how you use that little line-thingy to aim your putts? yea i did that."

Don't have a specific recommendation, but golf umbrellas are designed to withstand high winds and will keep you more dry than the dinky little umbrella's you get at the drug store. I've had the same one that I got at a charity outing for 3 years now. This one has mostly positive amazon reviews and is under $20.

I agree with the other posters but if you are thinking multiple gifts you could get them a bag of tees (Pride Professional Tee System ProLength Plus Tee, 3-1/4 inch-135 Count Bag (Blue on Natural) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0055NRKLY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_gLnqybQTTVSGC) and a switchblade divot tool which are pretty sweet (Pitchfix Hybrid Divot Repair Tool Neon Yellow/blue https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0147BSVBC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_5MnqybDK830EM).

A lot of people use the Camp Time Stool. It's the one Dynamic Discs sells with their custom seats. I've had it and a cheap one from Amazon and the Camp Time is MUCH better. It's wider so it puts less pressure on the man bits, IME.

As for an umbrella, I love my large Gust Buster.

  1. This phone armband shows that I have started a new and active lifestyle. I love art and pursuing my musical dreams. I also have a cat that I adore. I always have my head in the clouds, or more appropriately stars.

  2. Les Miserables, anything Harry Potter, Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, and The Walking Dead for a TV show!

  3. I will give you the highest of fives if we ever meet in person.

A cotton towel is good for your hands but won't do a thing to your wet discs. I have one of these and a larger cotton towel clipped to my bag and it's good for when a disc gets wet. I'm thinking about even getting a 2nd one so one is always good to go. But I won't play in the rain anyway.

u/dvdanny · 2 pointsr/golf

I have this one. It's cool to play with while you are waiting for the group infront of you to get out of the tee box and it works just fine as a divot tool. It gets bonus points from me because my shorts have mesh pockets and this is the only divot tool that won't get tangled up in there.

5 bucks for peace of mind and consistency

Worked great for me thus far.

Get a parasol! They come in so many pretty designs. If you want to have one that is double duty, sun and rain, get a UV blocker umbrella. They come in pretty designs too. Here's a regular umbrella that blocks sun https://www.amazon.com/Sun-Rain-Travel-Umbrella-Lightweight/dp/B07D6646J6

or something like these. UPF is like SPF but for fabric. UPF 50 means it blocks 99% of UVA and UVB rays so don't get confused and think it doesn't offer good protection. This is a rain umbrella too https://www.amazon.com/Nicecho-UPF-Fashion-Lace-Umbrella/dp/B00W5MOI8G/

Hidden skulls https://www.amazon.com/MINGXIN011-triple-folding-umbrella-printed-protection/dp/B013SK52QA

Or just nice shaped (I have these, they work great) https://www.amazon.com/Migobi-Folding-Flouncing-Compact-Umbrella/dp/B014HFAAEY

And I just realized I was posting tons of umbrellas. They are really awesome for blocking the sun if you get the ones that are made to block it and are rated at high levels. It is so much cooler under an umbrella like this and I can stay out in the sun so much longer.

For your dad I would say these Houston Golf Markers and a Game Tracker Pad!!

If its okay to pick something on my list, I would LOVE this vacuum for my apartment. Seriously, these floors need it :P

Although most people don't pay much attention to umbrellas, here are some nice features to look for:

  • 210T fabric
  • UV protection (to double up as a parasol)
  • 10 ribs
  • Steel or carbon fiber construction

Additionally, if you prefer portable umbrellas, get one with an auto-close button. It will keep you dry when entering a vehicle.

If you prefer large/ full-size umbrellas, get an inverted umbrella. They don't become a wet mess when you bring them indoors, and also close in very narrow spaces.

Also, look for a strap that is not Velcro, as Velcro isn't the most durable mechanism compared to magnets or even a button. Finally, make sure the canopy is at least 105 cm wide. Any smaller, and the umbrella won't keep you dry on a windy day.

Edit: for those who are asking, I recommend either this portable umbrella or this full size umbrella.

It’s usually called either UFO Raincoat or Hands Free Raincoat

This is just one example of the product. Enjoy the search!

The hardware probably exists already, but I bet you'd do very well with calling it a 'towel leash'... catch names like that sell stuff! "As seen on TV" type.

Yup. Just played 'em today, great tees, very durable.

u/tricross · 1 pointr/golf

I've used one of these for a few years now and it works great. Plus it doesn't get an oder with it's every couple weeks washing. I usually play 3-4 times a week. Mine of the others that I've tried have worked as well as this one.

Center Cut Microfiber Golf Towel 16"x40" (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WQ6604G

These are the best umbrellas. So many useful features you didnt realize you needed. https://www.amazon.com/Reverse-Folding-Inverted-Umbrella-Carrying/dp/B01LYUV9L3/ May not be the best manufacturer, do some shopping

u/marlow2689 · 2 pointsr/golf

I tried getting him a 'suction cup' pickup tool, but his putter's grip was too wide for it. Found this one on Amazon that claims to fit any grip, but I'm distrustful of random Amazon sellers. Anyone have experience with this or another option that would work for my 87 year old grandpa?

Thanks!

u/Belarr · 1 pointr/crochet

Should you want to, you can buy this frame:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NALNW0N/

It has a 54 inch span, which you can cut down if necessary because it's made of fiberglass or some kind of plastic.
