This is awesome ❤️❤️❤️ thank you❤️❤️

I would like a book for my mom. She has been rock my entire life but definitely since I got sober on 3-6-16. She is a social worker so a book about helping others would suffice.

Edit: I don’t know what kind of art that would be when folding books. A heart maybe? Just the word mom maybe? The word caring?

To spoil myself I would choose this off of my wish list to hand up all the beautiful post cards I have gotten from Reddit.

Funny story? My SO and I were at an AA meeting tonight and we went to pray at the end of it and he RIPPED a fart in the middle of the prayer. He started cracking up laughing, but needless to say not many people found it funny. He apologized and explained he thought he could hold it until he walked outside but dang! I mean, in the middle of prayer!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣 I laughed so hard my side hurt.

More info below!:

I used this gel: https://www.amazon.com/Dri-Splendor-Silica-Gel-10233/dp/B077GVZ1ML *I bought 2 bags at a chain craft store, but the cashier only rang up one. I went back in when I realized what happened and they just told me to keep the second bag and thanked me for my honesty. So I had two bags but only paid for one.

This Tupperware bin: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PG0DUZQ/

And this shadow box: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NASEI8Y/

The night of the wedding I kept my bouquet in water in a vase. The following afternoon when we got to our “mini moon” Airbnb I set up the flowers in the gel. I put a small layer of silica, then a few flat leaves of greenery, then another layer of gel, then my bigger blooms. For the flowers that were more open, I tried to fill them with gel and then place them in the container on their side so that they’d maintain their shape. Otherwise I mostly laid them face down. This might have smushed them a little flat, but I didn’t mind because that’s how I wanted them displayed in the box. I just did layers of flowers and gel until the bin was full. I’d say it took about half of my bouquet, using all the big blooms that weren’t super super delicate (I just tossed those super super delicate ones because they’d fall apart), and almost all of the tougher smaller blooms. I cut the heads off each flower leaving a tiny bit of stem to use as a small handle.

I let the bin sit for about 2.5 weeks. Then I opened the bin and spooned gel back into the bags it originally came in. I was really careful to do it slowly and carefully so that I wouldn’t damage the flowers. They’re very brittle and delicate, but sturdy enough that I could unearth most of the bloom by spooning the gel around it, then pulling up on the bit of the stem that I left. I dug out all of the flowers before placing them in the box. The annoying thing is that little beads of gel get into the crevices of all the flower petals, so I used a toothpick to fully remove all the beads, but even still missed a few.

Once I had them all out, I arranged them in the box, trying to pack them densely enough that when I moved the box to stand it upright, they wouldn’t shift. I ended up clipping some bits from the other bouquet that I hang dried (upside down, in a room with little/no sunlight, 2.5 weeks) to fully fill it. It was really nice to have that extra bouquet to use for filler so I’m really glad I brought a bridesmaid bouquet home too. Most of my flowers were on the smaller side because I wanted a lot of texture in my bouquet. It probably helped that all of my blooms were on the smaller/shorter side...if you have larger blooms you may need to squash them more, put them on their side, or just use a deeper box.

Gotcha. I don't know what pricing is but I'm sure it's easily looked up. I know photo places at like Walmart will do canvas printing. Maybe even something like the FedEx Office store. Not sure if you can get small squares done but it's worth a shot.

If you aren't dead set on canvas (and it sounds like you aren't) you can probably get regularly glossy prints and affix them to some small black frames - which you can make if you're handy or probably buy regular canvas and then finished the edges with something black to make it look nicer.

Or maybe even frames like this or this

u/nataloodle · 5 pointsr/weddingplanning

I used about three boxes of this silica gel. You can get it at Michaels too.

I did the dry method, so no microwaving the gel, and I left them in for about two weeks. The roses turned out really well but my hydrangea fell apart quite a bit. That's probably because I waited a couple of days after the wedding to do it and hydrangeas are really tempermental.

I used this shadow box and removed the inner insert and frame because the flowers were a little too tall. I just used hot glue to attach the flowers to the frame. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00NASEI8Y

Hope that helps. Good luck!

u/samurairj · 3 pointsr/DaftPunk

I bought a trashed copy of Kraftwerk's Autobahn just so I could frame it (Art was in good shape, but the LP was rough). I love the album, and every time I see it on my wall I'm reminded of how amazing it is.

EDIT: Also, they make these now, which makes it feasible to play framed records often: https://www.amazon.com/Art-Vinyl-Display-Record-3-Pack/dp/B000C1YV8Y

u/nailz1000 · 12 pointsr/battlestations

If you like those but can't find them, I would suggest checking out Soulkr's stuff on Once Upon A Tee - his art aesthetic is beautiful and the print quality on the 13x19's are amazing, and the frames I use for them are stellar. I've got easily 10 of them hanging around my house, and even splurged on a 13x19 metal print for his Megaman image, which I love to death.

u/Screams- · 14 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

Thank you :) Here is the case I used for them. Wanted something with a cover on it, and something that would be deep enough for some shelves. Which I made with some planks of poplar wood and some L brackets. Works perfectly! Just can't fit anymore boards into it, which is probably for the best 😂

u/Heisenripbauer · 2 pointsr/hiphopheads

Find out her favorite album and see if the vinyl is available for that album! What I like about vinyls are the inserts that are included most of the time (posters, album artwork, sometimes lyrics).

Also, even if you don't have a record player, the vinyl itself looks great framed so you can also get her something like this as well (vinyls are generally cheaper than $30 depending on what album you're looking for)

u/DangeresqueIII · 1 pointr/anime

I was thinking about getting the Daicon LD professionally framed from the same place that did my cels but the only problem is that once its framed its not meant to be opened up. It's not something I would play often, but maybe once in a while it would be nice. Yeah I know its on YouTube (in better quality) but there's something about playing your own copy that's just more satisfying. I was thinking of getting something like this. There are cheaper options, but you gotta make sure the glass/plexi is UV resistant.

u/Strike0070 · 2 pointsr/DallasStars

Got the shadow box on Amazon.

I've thought about getting a bracket for the stick, but I don't know if it would be worth it for just one. I could probably get my dad to make me one though. He made the stand for the autographed stick blade with his laser cutter.

I've thought about adding some nice matting to frame the picture like in your post earlier, but I don't know if that would look good in a box this deep.

u/chrisxclash · 2 pointsr/BABYMETAL

For anyone interested in the frames, I just got some cheap ones on Amazon, but I'm actually pretty happy with how they look.

You can find them here

NOTE: These frames do require decapitating your magazine, since they're for a sheet or two of paper, not an entire magazine.

u/creativityfuse · 1 pointr/Art

Another idea would be to print one of her favorite pictures (or better yet use the original) and put it in a frame like this for her and wrap it up. If she hasn't framed any of her work yet, the frame can really help make it feel more serious and valued.

An art set like this isn't the best quality, but if she doesn't have one it's fun to have a big variety of art supplies to work with.

u/Self-Destructing-Pig · 1 pointr/nin

I have this frame and it fits perfectly and looks pretty nice to boot.

u/sanslumiere · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

You could do something like this? (I don't know if you have Pinterest). I don't know your initials, but something like this. Then buy some cheap simple picture frames like this?

Just an idea. You suck at shopping :)

u/gomizzy · 4 pointsr/FrankOcean

Vinyl frame on Amazon.

And yeah, yeah, it's not perfectly symmetrical and I need to step my duvet-game up — still happy about these two vinyls though :)

u/TickleM4ster · 1 pointr/wow

If you’re looking for some frames to put your prints in I suggest these . Good price and fit perfect.

u/bicycle_wreck · 2 pointsr/AlkalineTrio

If you haven't found one yet, this 18 in. by 24 in. frame fit perfectly.

u/In_money_we_Trust · 1 pointr/battlestations

Thanks dude! It's such a solid album, can't wait for the next one. I have all of their records on vinyl apart from Common Dreads. The last one i can't find anywhere.

Yeah they are all records in frames that i swap out every now and then. Here is what i use to hang them on the wall. Works a treat.

Here is a better picture of them

u/Gallifrasian · 1 pointr/TheLastAirbender

Since the frame doesn't come with it, I recommend these poster frames from Amazon. They're for the 24x36 ones. I just got them yesterday for my Bioshock posters and they're cheap and fantastic, not to mention easy to disassemble/reassemble. Comes with 2 frames.

u/qualityburger · 1 pointr/lotr

They were a limited release, but I saw some pop up on ebay (albeit for a little more than the $95 i paid). The frames were just on Amazon Art to Frame 12x24. Pretty cheap too!

u/KPexEA · 2 pointsr/Porsche

I used MCS frames, they are available at amazon.com for $3 each, and then I printed the posters myself using my HP 3700 color laser printer.

I actually bought the frames from B&H, they were a little more $3.29 each but offered free shipping to Canada.

If you want copies of the poster jpg files let me know, I can put them into a zip file and upload them somewhere.

edit: uploaded posters here: http://www.filedropper.com/porsche-posters

u/bbdubs16 · 4 pointsr/boardgames

Sure. These are the shadow boxes I used. Note that the board is a bit too thick to fit with the backboard, so you either have to cut a bit off the sides of the board or you have to tear off a layer of the backboard. I used super glue to adhere the board to the backboard and the only other thing you'll need is mini glue dots which you can find at your nearest hobby store! I used a razor blade to cut the board in thirds and to cut the box labels to put up at the top!

u/AngryBarista · 1 pointr/nin

A nice print deserves a nice frame.

No, not an original. Just one of my favorites and looks good on the wall. The Frame is: Play & Display Vinyl Record... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000C1YV8O?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

u/LurkingRaeven · 1 pointr/CrossStitch

This is the frame I used! I loved the bevel on the mat.

u/rroneb · 1 pointr/Broadway

I like to use the MCS 8x10 frames on Amazon. They are cheap, good quality, and very low profile. [These ones] (https://www.amazon.com/MCS-Format-Frame-Black-40958/dp/B00AWGIEFU)

u/Demented3 · 0 pointsr/DIY

These poster frames are less than 30$ as well. And you get two!

u/de_witte · 1 pointr/Vive

You could try flash clip mounts to attach lighthouses to a table or cupboard or something stable like it (it's what I use). Easy to mount, move, adjust, and no tripping over tripods.

https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B008N475M6

Or if you have heating pipes, curtain rods, or contractor poles:

https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B00E5M39AW

Edit: I forgot to say, you could also take the ballhead mounts included with the Vive and screw them to something heavy like a block of wood, a box, an old coffee tin filled with rocks,... to build makeshift stands which you can then place on a cupboard or your desk or move around quickly if you experience tracking problems or want to try VR in another room. A bit ghetto, but cheap solution.

u/kaylanimis · 2 pointsr/firefly

There are a number of 12x24 frames on amazon that are around $20 apiece. I'm not sure you're going to get much cheaper than that. Also, keep in mind that shipping costs will go down when you're buying in bulk. Otherwise, Michael's can have some good deals on frames.

Example: [ArtToFrames FRBW26079-12x24 Satin Black Picture Frame, 1-1/4-Inch Wide] (http://smile.amazon.com/ArtToFrames-FRBW26079-12x24-Satin-Picture-4-Inch/dp/B002OS83CI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1410709273&sr=8-2&keywords=12x24+frame)

MCS Format Frames are really nice and cheap as hell.

I was able to find them even cheaper at walmart.

u/CMDR_Shazbot · 1 pointr/Vive

I'd suggest something with a balljoint, not this exact one but make sure it has movement such as this:

https://www.amazon.de/schwarz-Metall-Studio-Klemme-Montieren/dp/B008N475M6/ref=pd_bxgy_421_img_3/254-8030820-4429601?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=TRSC3V0071ZD7ESFDHRM

Or you can order a balljoint for cheap, I think I got 2 for ~$10USD.

u/Bingo___Bronson · 2 pointsr/boniver

All the ones I have are a standard size. I buy these frames. They’re lightweight and easy to hang.

ArtToFrames 18x24 inch Satin Black Picture Frame, WOMFRBW26079-18x24 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002FPDCUI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_vlwXj69It48DT

u/weewhomp · 2 pointsr/DisneyTreasures

I use something similar to this shadow box. You can stick all of your pins and patches in there and they'll be protected.

u/thoughtaboutjuly · 3 pointsr/malelivingspace

You can buy them off of Amazon as well - $16 CAD per frame.

Umbra Record 12-Inch by 12-Inch Wall Frame https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B002JM25VE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_q5d3Db5M17VPB

I got this for my Kids see ghosts vinyl, the Matt around the frame gives it a clean look.

CreativePF [15x15bk-w] LP Vinyl... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MZDZJ7S?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

u/marley88 · 1 pointr/realdubstep

If you do you could get something like this.

u/aed_kirky · 2 pointsr/vinyl

I have a white version of this. It's kinda pricey for a display frame, but the "play" factor makes it worth it.

If you're looking for strictly a 12x12 frame - your local hobby shop will have simple frames, and you can keep the actual records in a separate sleeve with the rest of your collection.

u/MrShupp · 1 pointr/Blink182

Frame is 11x14, matt is about 8x10

Who said they shouldn't be touching the glass? I spoke with the artist directly, he actually framed the "keep calm" for me before he shipped it, so I don't think framing is an issue

Link to the frame I bought for "gold old days":
11x14 Black Picture Frame - Made to Display Pictures 8x10 with Mat or 11x14 Without Mat - Wide Molding - Wall Mounting Material Included https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YSHENGS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_OcyDzbWFK9ESS

u/carn2fex · 8959 pointsr/funny

Is there a higher res version of this? I work for NASA. I want to print it, frame it and put it on the wall where the tour groups go by. Edit: Ordered the frame. Reviews are solid. https://www.amazon.com/11x14-Black-Picture-Frame-Pictures/dp/B00YSHENGS/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1503104852&sr=8-4&keywords=glass+picture+frame

u/gfp6302 · 1 pointr/StarWars

I used these from Amazon. Nothing too fancy

u/ieGod · 2 pointsr/RocketLeague

They are vinyl "specific". I put that in quotes because it's really just a square glass frame with a bit more space in between the glass panes. You can put anything in there.

But they're marketed as such. It's this product here.

u/ferricyanide · 1 pointr/vinyl

Here's a frame. To display the records themselves, just cut a 12" x 12" piece of felt and lay the record on before inserting in the frame. You can have the album artwork in the center and then the records on either side w/ multiple frames.
