Here I'll get you the part list you want. Should cost around 300-350 dollars. Wait you have a pixhawk? That's a very good controller, you'll be great with that but you have to learn how to use the ardupilot ground station. Your best bet is to build a helicopter and you're not going to have much luck getting a good gimbal to hold a large camera, a good idea is to get a GoPro gimbal and use fpv with that, or get a 250$ moy alexmos 3 axis gimbal on eBay.

Get used to the car would be my first recommendation followed by maybe a 2s 30c 5000mah battery and charger to support a lipo battery.

After that replace what you broke with better parts or upgrade if you feel it is too slow/sluggish.

I wouldn't worry too much about the tires just yet, wait until you get some experience to really know what the tires are/aren't doing that you do or don't like. pro line trenchers are great monster truck tires, but you may not want monster truck tires....tires/wheels go along with what you want to accomplish...if you don't know yet, leave it stock, wheel/tire combos can get expensive esp when you don't know/aren't sure.

Oh and congrats on settling on a car. Understand this is a beginner car, great for you to learn on and see where you want to go. I wouldn't put a lot of money into it, tbh, just learn. I can get you uncontrollably fast if that is where you want it to be but it will cost more than the car is worth (between bullet proofing and upgrading the motor/esc).

edit: as far as first thing I would get other than battery, rpm servo-saver elminiator
http://www.rpmrcproducts.com/shop/chassis-components/servo-saver-eliminator-bellcrank-for-the-ecx-boost-2wd-ruckus-2wd-circuit-2wd-torment/

Get some bearing oil (keep bearings cleaned and lubed, once a week if in mud...once a month if not)
https://www.amazon.com/Synthetic-Lubricating-Controlled-Vehicles-Evaporate/dp/B00CVUR8S4/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1519658344&sr=8-5&keywords=rc+bearing+oil

Get a good set of tools, I got one of these to start with and it works for most cars...A lot of people don't like the interchangeable drivers and go for the solid driver kits.

I recommend starting off by learning the basics from YouTube. There are lots of great videos to watch.

I personally recommend these two: 1 2

As for buying electronics, it likely depends where you live. I'm in Rural Canada so HobbyKing and HobbyPartz offered the best shipping options. What I find helped me get started was combo electronic kits offered by the sites. Unfortunately those two sites don't really stock those kits for planes anymore. They only have drone kits now. It looks like Amazon has some offerings, but I would recommend reading reviews and finding something that sounds right for what you want to build.

Thank you! Chassis Brace In case you want one yourself 😎 Keep RCing kids love it (and us adults too 😉)

In regards to the sword

Get a thin hobby saw ( https://www.amazon.com/Tamiya-300074094-Photo-Etched-Craft-Saw/dp/B003JTGZY4 ). Cut right below the guard along the top of the hand on both the left and right (edit: handed swords). You may need to file an angle into it to get it to match, but then glue and use some plastic filler or liquid green stuff to fill any gaps.

I actually use plastic sprue shavings and melt them with extra thin cement as a plastic filler (i doesn't take much. only need to touch the brush to it.)

Good luck

$500 is a tight budget. $500 can get you "something that flies" and "something that's FPV." At the $500 level, you're talking 4-12 minutes.

Wind handling comes from "being fast" and "having a decent flight controller". Naze32, Flip32, KK2 2.1, NAZA, etc.. are all good flight controlers.

The big question is, what are you trying to do? Just "get in and have fun?" Well, in that case I'd probally point you at something like a the Proto or Hubsan ready to fly FPV quads, and a second, non FPV quad for bashing around. Buy two of the same brand, and a half a dozen batteries, and a good charger.

Quadcopters break. And they break, a lot. The bigger they are, the more they break. If you oops, you've lost a prop. If you oops hard, you've broken an airframe, bent a motor shaft, popped a battery... something like that.

If you're determined to fly something larger, you're going to eat the budget quickly.

So "the nerobro way"

Hubsan 104d FPV: $150
http://www.amazon.com/Hubsan-H107D-FPV-Mini-Quadcopter/dp/B00GSNWB5K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422240063&sr=8-1&keywords=hubsan+x4+fpv

Hubsan 104 crash pack: $20
http://www.amazon.com/Hubsan-H107D-Quadcopter-Crash-shown/dp/B00FZ9BDMU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1422240063&sr=8-2&keywords=hubsan+x4+fpv

Hubsan 107 (non fpv): $54
http://www.amazon.com/Hubsan-H107L-Channel-2-4GHz-Quadcopter/dp/B00IZC6C8E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422240139&sr=8-1&keywords=hubsan+107

4x battery charger: $7
http://www.amazon.com/ThinkMax%C2%AE-X4-Battery-Charger-Hubsan/dp/B00LGWQ4FG/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1422240139&sr=8-13&keywords=hubsan+107

That'll get you something to learn with, and something to fly FPV with for less than $350. And you will NOT be bored. :-) And if you really screw up, you'll have spare parts. Consider adding a few more batteries.

Okay, you got me wanting something, Where did you get the Jeep Body? I've got a two door Pro-Line Wrangler body and a hard shell body I bought off of Amazon, but the hard body is super top heavy. Gimme me some DETAILS! LoL.

Edit: I'm dumb with formatting.

This was the hard body I purchased, Needed a lot of modification to work. https://www.amazon.com/Truck-Shell-Scale-Wrangler-%EF%BC%8CArmy/dp/B07K4QVNR4/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=jeep+wrangler+rc+body&qid=1571411519&sr=8-4

u/cubedjjm · 1 pointr/rccars

I understand. They can be pretty hard to get to. Have you tried larger body pins? There are three sizes on that site. They make ones where the loops are at least twice as big and much easier to grab. There is also bent pins such as these.

Just did a google search on body pins and there are multiple different types I didn't even know about! Learn something new everyday!

u/remotaholic · 1 pointr/drones

Does it have to be android controlled? The Hubsan h107D would be ideal and the video streams direct to the controller. Just make sure to get a crash pack in case he breaks it.

u/vid_icarus · 2 pointsr/Gunpla

they did not, I found them on amazon. they have a lot of different options to choose from and a fair amount of them interlock, which is nice.

u/zulu10 · 1 pointr/rccars

nice car.

you can set these up for between 55-70mm for $40

https://www.amazon.com/Tamiya-54541-Aluminum-Damper-CC01/dp/B00FR9NYXY

they're a cross compatible option for tamiya's current rally car.

if you need springs 53974 are a good match.

u/Cannabeards · 2 pointsr/crawling

There's an almost identical bag for less than half that price too. I'm using it and it works great. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ATSWWDA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_YE3wDb4038ZMB

u/Trey5169 · 4 pointsr/rccars

My dad bought me this toolset, and with the exception of a few add-ons (needle nose pliers and R/C body clips, both of which fit in the zip-up pouch) it has lasted me to this day.

The ratcheting handle eventually wears out. Like, after around a year or so. Otherwise, great kit. Most pros have an electric motorized handle anyhow.

u/MagneticGray · 8 pointsr/Jeep

Axial makes a JKU Rubicon and an XJ that is one of the nicest crawlers out there. You can find 1/10 scale TJ bodies (and pretty much any other semi-popular off road vehicle) for them on Amazon or eBay. Not a TJ but I always wanted to get this one and do a full mall-crawler build with it.

u/Flamingpig · 1 pointr/Multicopter

I purchased a h107L and promptly smashed it into some concrete which rendered one motor broken. I hastely ordered a crash pack and did not realize it was for a h107d. When it arrived I was crushed but quickly realized that it may be the best thing that ever happened to me. I then ordered 2 extra h107d motors from Calibros. I disassembled my L and moved the guts to the bigger frame. Resoldered on the new motors and led's and voila a bigger badder L in a D frame and motor.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FZ9BDMU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

https://cali-bros.com/product/2-motor-pack-h107-a23-for-h107cd/

$30 and I am back in business with an extra battery and more props to boot.

Edit: Forgot to add that my L did not come with a prop guard.

u/itsdavebr0 · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

new body for my RC car because racecar the one I have is thin plastic and this one is 3-4 times thicker, and clear so I can paint it however I want.

u/Elliot_Fox · 1 pointr/rccars

Well these don't really look like they would work if interchanged: http://imgur.com/a/D93yW I ordered this on amazon and I think it will be all I need, but I just wanted to double check: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004QM6C4G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/radicalblur · 1 pointr/Gunpla

Use one of these https://www.amazon.com/Tamiya-TAM74094-Photo-Etched-Craft-Saw/dp/B003JTGZY4 (which are fragile as hell and took much trial and error to learn to use) if you need precise cuts.

Otherwise, I just scribe a guide with a needle scriber and cut the piece with a hobby saw. Shredding "extra" plastic is of no consequence if you plan on extending or shortening the part any way.
