I've got this one. Most used kitchen appliance aside from my fridge. :D

I am OBSESSED with my air fryer. Everything gets cooked in it. I have this one that doubles as a toaster oven (since counter space is valuable in my apartment) and it's just incredible. Easily my favorite kitchen appliance.

The Cuisinart is similar to the one I've seen Maria Emmerich recommend. Same brand but she uses this one.

My coworker has been raving about a Cuisinart air fryer that has toaster oven settings. Tbh, looks like a toaster oven with an air frying setting. He’s been into the air fryer recently, so two birds one stone. Think it’s this one: Cuisinart TOA-60 Air Fryer Toaster Oven, Silver https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K0W8LTE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_gJMUCbRF0RAJF

I have the knock off version of this because I did not already have a toaster oven and didn’t want a single use appliance if I could have a multi-use option. I am really happy with it.

My mother bought one before me, so I had tasted the food "fried" with it before buying one. I have this model, but I don't think that it exists in the US. It's not the same model or brand as hers (she lives in another country), but mine and hers have so many similar elements that I'm sure that it's the same thing but with a different exterior shell.

The principle behind all air fryers is the same: superheat the air and blast it on the food. What changes from model to model (other than build quality) is the power (higher is better) and the frying compartment. Nowadays you have some like this one. More expensive, but more versatile and it also works as an oven.

About the taste of the food: despite all the ads, don't expect it to be the same thing as deep frying. The food is a lot more crunchy and tasty than frozen fried stuff heated with a convection oven, and you can do some stuff that end up too greasy with with deep frying (like the ribs), but it's not the same thing as deep frying - the oil entering the food makes a difference.

For me it was worth it. The food ends up healthier than deep frying, but still good and crunchy enough (adding flour really helps with the crunchiness). It's a good alternative if you want to lose some weight and / or reduce the amount of fat that you are eating, but don't want to eat chicken breasts every single day.

So you’d take the air fryer over the Cuisinart convection oven air fryer and the Cuisinart Griddler/panini machine? If so, then what air fryer do you recommended? I was looking at one of these 2:

I bought mine at Fry’s electronics because they had a crazy deal at the time ($140), but it looks like you can get my exact model on amazon for $185. I needed a toaster oven and came across this. It’s basically a mini-oven and It’s awesome.

I barely use my full-size oven anymore because this one is so much better.

Target deal: https://www.target.com/p/cuisinart-air-fryer-toaster-oven-toa-60tg/-/A-53760593

Go to target to pick one up. Have the cashier adjust the price to match Amazon's, which is $124.99 (~$145 minus $20 amazon coupon that shows under the item) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K0W8LTE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Mh1XDbSHVEDZ7

Get a free $75 Target gift card with your purchase (as seen online) and, if your store is also offering a $30 gift card with purchase like mine was, get that, too.

Cuisinart TOA-60. Goes on sale for about $140 from time to time, check SlickDeals.

My only complaint is the timer knob is stiff as hell when turning it off. Other reviewers mentioned snapping it off. I can see that happening if you're rough with it. Also, the timer is kind of inaccurate, but that doesn't bother me too much. The window with light is a huge plus.
