I'm not sure what budget-friendly means to you, but I'd expect to pay $50-100 for cute, comfortable shoes. Your feet will thank you for going for comfortable over cute $15 flats from Target.

I'd suggest Clark's or Keen brand. I wear Clark's desert boots for my office-ish job (I'm a woman and walk/stand a lot) with inserts to make them even more comfortable. But they have tons of flats like this in lots of colors and styles. Keen is mostly known for athletic shoes, but they have a surprising number of cute flats that feel like you're wearing sneaks, like these.

I buy most of my shoes online, so I don't have good suggestions of stores. But Zappos and many of Amazon's shoes have free returns.

There's two women I know in my department who commute in comfy shoes and change into nice shoes at work. I think one of them walks for a good 30-40 minutes so for her comfort is key.

Either way they both have these Sketchers. I realise they're not super trendy but I'm sure they're comfortable af, they're breathable and light. And I think Sketchers have good sales sometimes.

You could consider something like this or just any cheap pair of understated sneakers to keep your running shoes separate from your 'work' shoes.

I don't know about your work but sometimes in my business casual(ish) place I will run into someone more important in the elevator hall or coffee corner before I even sit down at my desk for the day and in that instance, I'd rather look generally presentable than have these people see me in neon sneakers. Especially if I have to chat with them or possibly join them in their office to discuss something further. But that's me!

My number one park shoes are my Chacos. I love love love them. But they need to be well broken in before a day in the parks.

On my last trip I brought a pair of Sanuk Yoga Sling Sandals, and I loved them! They were super comfy, the sling kept them on, and they dried quickly. And there's so many different colors and patterns!!

u/bockigesNilpferd · 3 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I don't know if the trend will last, but I kind of thought the same thing, so I got a cheaper knockoff version for about $40. (originally found via someone on here, I forget who!)

They're decent quality, and I figure for a trendier style like that I don't need something that will last me for life. And if the trend is still going strong once these wear out maybe I'll throw down for a nicer pair. They do make my size 11 feet look pretty long but I still like how they look.

I do think that pointed toe flats in general are on an upswing and will last for several years.

Okay so first off, be aware that really the only way to wear rain boots in winter in nothern states is with wool socks and even so they can tend to be pretty cold. If you're looking for true winter boots I'd recommend Sorrel.

However, just strictly speaking about Hunter boots. Personally I think they're very stiff and VERY heavy as far as rubber boots go. Also, overpriced. After a lot of evaluation I decided to go with the Kamik Jennifer instead which also comes in a short size the Kamik Jenny. They look very similar to the Hunter boots with the exception that they have a slightly narrower shaft, weigh less than half the Hunters do, have a REALLY cushy insole that's amazing and are made out of a slightly softer rubber. I should have done a side-by-side comparison before I mailed the Hunters and the Jenny boots back, but I preferred the two Kamik styles over the two Hunter styles on the basis of comfort, asthetic, weight, fit and price. Oh, did i mention? They're about a third of the price of Hunters. I haven't had the Kamiks too long, but they're very highly rated and almost all the reviews say they last for years. I haven't seen any reports of Kamiks cracking while I've seen lots of reports of Hunters cracking recently.

So there's my two cents. :)

$0-5 Adorable Cupcake Magnet Just look at this magnet, it's adorable.

$5-10 The Body Shop Chocomania Shower Cream Chocolate and bubble bath, two of my favorite things together, very relaxing!

$10-20 Maneki Neko Tea Cup WHITE - Japanese Lucky Cat Tea Cup Is it a lucky cat? Is it a tea cup? It's both :D

$20-50 Pink Fuzzy Bear Paw Animal Slippers for Women and Men Every time I see these, they put a smile on my face. I keep taking them off my wishlist because they're so impractical, but then they go right back on a day later, haha.

I nominate my Wife. Truth be told we do not have children of our own.. sadly it's impossible... however over her life she has raised just about every child in her extended family. From a multitude of cousins, 2nd cousins, 3rd cousins. her brother, her sister as well has her nephew and her niece. She has raised more children then the mothers that had given birth to them. She is protective of all she has raised even though they are far and away grown up. She will literally give her last dollar to her nephew because it would make him happy. She recently has gotten a bluebird card that allows her to set up sub accounts for others. she has set up a sub account for her Nephew and her Niece so she can take some of the little bit of money that she gets per month and give some of it to them so they have a little bit of an allowance. sometimes it breaks my heart to see everything she does and goes through and the sacrifices she makes of herself so others can have.. including me. She lives in total pain every day dues to having advance neropathy ( Spelling? ) in her feet, legs and hands. Yet now she works even harder then before so her own mother doesn't have to work hard while taking while they take care of her grandmother. Yes... my wife has gone from being the mother of her family's children to being the mother of her mother and Grandmother as well... No I'm not kidding. She is the Mother of mothers in my eyes.

For gifts? Well as I have explained before she has a skin condition that causes her to break out in really dry itchy blotches that are really annoying and embarrass her because of their looks. She cannot use conventional soap anymore as it makes things worse. Nothing she has gotten from the Doctors has really helped. However I have found that THIS Really can and does help.

Or Her feet tend to get really sore really easy due to her neropathy, so some fuzzy and soft slippers not only help keep them warm but her protect her feet when she walks around the house.

I heart Mom's!

I’m going on a short trip to Europe at the end of this month into December. Looking for some fashionable but warm and comfortable shoes to walk around. What do you gals think of these Dr Martens www.amazon.com/dp/B0073ZX9IA/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_i_bxE3BbTB4VKPE another concern is that I wear size 11 and sometimes I feel that certain shoes make my feet look comically large.

u/pandybabyy · 3 pointsr/FrugalFemaleFashion

These are the most comfortable sandals I've ever worn! It took me forever to find a pair that I could walks for miles in that didn't look like hiking sandals, but they were well worth the search. They're still going strong after a year of regular wear, and I can't say enough good things about them.

u/secretfreakout · 2 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I am not going to lie - the absolute best shoe for me in a 13-hour day 3 days a week for work are croc wedges. They last forever, they're comfortable as all get-out, and I swear I have them in 3 colors. I get them through Amazon. the black, the tan, and the blue/white stripe I own. I waited forever for the blue/white stripe to be on sale because they were WAY MORE than the black or tan! Seriously, check them out! I hear great things about their cute flats for work too, but the wedges don't tear up my feet and show off my nail polish.

Wedges!

u/bleguini · 3 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

The majority of my shoes are Keens. I do have a pair of Keen Baby Bern boots, which are great since I live in a cold and snowy place. I also have these Keen Elsa booties, but they also have taller winter boot versions. Most recently they've been carrying these leather chelsea boot style and this ankle zipper style that I'm thinking about getting. I would keep an eye out because they do carry different styles that might be slightly more office appropriate than the hiking boots. Most of my leather sandals are from Keen as well.

u/queenhippolytas · 5 pointsr/DCcomics

I bought them at a speciality store but they're pretty popular. They're called Sanuk and they're made out of recycled yoga mats.

u/ttlens · 1 pointr/japanlife

If your feet get cold then something like this will be your best winter friend.

u/minawasena · 2 pointsr/washingtondc

I have these for snow boots, coming from Central New York.

http://www.amazon.com/Columbia-Womens-Ice-Maiden-Winter/dp/B00H7WWN2M

I used to have a pair of Sorel's but the ankle part was cutting into me. These Columbia boots are super comfy, very warm with fluff inside, and have large mobility in the ankle which is unlike most snow boots.

u/megustachef · 14 pointsr/DiWHY

Skip the chintzy, cheap-ass, foam. Light weight, comfort, and easy to clean you want Birki's. They're $80-100 but will last you years. I work 50+ hour weeks and have had mine for 4 years, just replace the insoles as needed. To clean, take out the insoles and wash them.

u/lilyofyosemite · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

I'm an 8.5 in Keds and an 8.5 in Merrells. I have narrow feet, which is why I love both Merrells and Keds. Also seconding the Sirens.

If you're only doing light hiking, you could also look into trail running shoes, which will give you more options and might be cheaper. Either way, if you live near an REI or other outdoor store, I'd recommend going in and trying a bunch on to get a feel for the brands (Merrell runs narrow-ish, Keens run wide, etc) if you want to try to score a sale online.

u/silverdichotomy · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

Yeah, I just need good shoes. Looking for strappy black heels (like these or with more/thinner straps) and clean white sneakers (like these).

You've received a lot of recommendations! :) Everyone has an opinion on shoes, of course! Here's my recommendation: Palladium Baggy Canvas Boots.

I wear them everywhere, all year long :)

u/ZapZip · 1 pointr/OpenWaterSwimming

Have you tried Down Booties? If you're just trying to warm up in the car post swim and don't need to walk around much, they might be a good option.

something like these

u/bexcellent101 · 2 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I'm an 8.5W and think they are very true to size. I'm not familiar with the ones you posted, but I have these ones and have worn them for about 5-6 yrs, and they are just starting to give up. I've heard great things about these ones too.

u/emmeisspicy · 8 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

they won't be $12, but those Sanuk ones made from old yoga mats are incredibly comfortable.

u/Fox800 · 3 pointsr/Residency

Incoming EM intern here. I tried to read up a bunch about this, and I settled on the Birkenstock Professional clogs. They're popular with healthcare personnel in Europe and chefs (who also stand all day) love them. You can remove the inner footbed and wash the outers at up to 160F to disinfect them. No problem using the hospital disinfectant wipes to clean them, and you can even use bleach on them if need be. The footbeds mold to your sole and you can order replacements when the time comes. They're also slip resistant.

u/yaariana · 7 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

Hunter boots. Everyone I talked to said, "Oh, they're so cute. . .but they leak sometimes. They're so great, though!" and I just thought it was ridiculous to buy rain boots that leak.

I bought these Kamik Jennifer boots instead and they're terrific. Low profile, solidly constructed, and super comfortable. I've walked miles in them at a time!

u/marzeepan · 1 pointr/February2017Bumpers

Thanks for all your suggestions! I just got a pair of Columbia Ice Maiden II Winter Boots and also a pair of Minnetonka Cally mocs. Here's to toasty warm feet!

u/thisisnotkathy · 2 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

Blowfish Granola are pretty similar and hold up well in my experience.

u/tall_slut_no_panties · 3 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

Merrell and Keen both have some nice looking flat boots (e.g. 1, 2, and 3). I've seen lots of people wearing those Merrells with skirts and looking very stylish.

u/LaSuisse · 1 pointr/weddingplanning

Hmm I may be a little late to the party BUT I have some colorful accessories :)

Dress is pretty traditional, but I plan on wearing these heels (in "Peacock") for the ceremony, and these boots for the reception!

These ones. It's kind of hard to see in the photo but if you look at the various angles, you can kinda see the arch support.

u/Lindthom · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice
  1. These in the summer. Much better than regular flip flops IMO
  2. A pair of black strappy sandals with studs on them I found at Target a couple years ago on clearance.
  3. These boots. I wear them almost every single day in the winter.
  4. And my pair of Asics running/walking shoes.
u/DawnTheDreamer · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I bought these amazing boots and they are my favorite things ever. They aren't bulky at all. They are lightweight, fashionable, and will keep you toasty warm and dry. I know they aren't cheap but online black friday deals are going to be coming out soon. I got mine on sale and they are worth every single penny. New England winters suck too so, I feel your pain there. I hope you find everything you are looking for!

They don't feel any different from my Kamiks, except they're 3x more expensive and have those little white tags on the front.
