(Part 2) Reddit mentions: The best sports & outdoors clothing

I generally know about Danskin only, because I prefer the elongated leg opening and the long-lasting nylon, so I generally snap up the last of the past season stock (which is generally in my size, P) that Amazon will sell for $5 or so, but they don't seem to be trying to dump items now.

This one does sometimes go on sale for $5. It's the only strappy leo that works on me, and I have multiples of it, though it's a bit too sexy to wear by itself (it's very supportive, but has a pushup effect as a result).

Right now these are my favorite - 27" over the knee. I look and feel super sexy in them and always get compliments. I'm 5'4" and they go over the knee a bit snug but I have thick thighs anyway. They loosen a little bit the more you wear so I don't mind them tight around my thighs. Plus, it's on Amazon!

I dance, and I buy whatever's cheap on Amazon.

I have Prime, and Amazon has all the major brands. I guess Danskin looks nicer because they don't always use cotton, so it doesn't take on that ratty off-black appearance. So this in different colors shows up in my normal wardrobe occasionally. Also, Danskin is sized for adult women, which I like.

Be careful about sizing - I'm 5 ft and 90-95 lbs, and I struggle to get into a Capezio XS. Also you can't really wear a normal bra with most leotards. Some have lining in the front, but you will get headlights. It's OK in a dance studio, but outside ...

It's gonna look awkward unless the shirt is tight enough that it doesn't mess with the lines of the dress. You could get a fine mesh top, or a leotard with sleeves and either would probably work under this. To do this, you should probably just rock it as something purposeful, not try to hide it in any way.

I bought a lot of the parts and pieces on Amazon (bodysuit, gloves, LED's, and goggles)
As for the actual armor pieces, they're craft foam. All the joints between the craft foam pieces are held together by cheesecloth and glue on the back (this tutorial pretty much helped me figure out how to shape the craft foam and put it together). Then they're paper mached to cover up the seams on the front. Then lots and LOTS of spray paint, followed by acrylic paint applied then wiped off to create the aged/battered effect. Then wired (9 volt batteries hidden throughout the costume) with LED's and resistors as required. Then the "glass" over the LED's was made from cut-up sandwich bags and white glass frosting spray.

The cheapest I've found is still the Capezio on Amazon for $19.29. As far as a gaff, I really don't know. I tend to go the clear duct tape route.

Slightly off topic: If you are a man looking to wear spandex, I highly recommend also wearing a dancer's belt. It will keep your junk from being visibly contoured by the spandex, as nobody wants to see that.
