You sound like a motivated individual. I'm currently training for a future 18X contract as well. Anyone please feel free to chime in, but this is what I can tell you;

  • When enlisting as 18X, The actual MOS you get if/when you get selected is determined by the cadre and what the see you doing best, and their current needs. Now I don't think you can get guaranteed 18D, but I am sure with your prior EMT experience and as long as you show expressed interest in it, You'll probably get it. But I can totally be wrong about that, that's something to talk to a recruiter about.

  • Not sure if you can get 68W if you VW or get injured along the 18X route. I know you get placed in 11B or 11C normally so I am not sure if it would be easy to get into 68W. Again, ask your local recruiter.

    Training:

Pick up this book: Get Selected - http://www.amazon.com/Get-Selected-Special-Forces-Successfully/dp/0975355279/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333966100&sr=8-1

It offers priceless (and proven) advice to getting selected, how to train, tricks and tips for toughening feet you name it.

    But basically (I have a running checklist, I'll give you some off the top of my head);

  • Ruck, ruck, ruck. Work your way up, don't try to be superman and do a ton of weight/distance off the get go - injuries will only set you back like crazy. Get a weighted vest, or put bricks/rocks/weights in a backpack. Go for distance and speed, try to maintain 13-15min miles for 10-16 miles, with 50-75lbs -- don't go higher then 75/80, again; you don't want injuries. (that should be your final goals). I have this weighted vest if you're interested in one, it does the job! http://www.amazon.com/Weekly-Sale-ZFO-40LBS-Adjustable-INCLUDED-One/dp/B002P60ZZC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333966980&sr=8-1 - I also wear a backpack over it for dry socks, water, protein bar, and i'm starting to add weight in it as well. Works well, nice tight/proportionate weight.

  • Run of course. Through the 18Xray route, you have to go through Basic/AIT of course and Airborne school, both of which you'll be running a lot. And of course you'll be running in SFAS as well. Get comfortable with running 3-5+miles before basic if possible at decent times. You'll get time to practice and improve no doubt but if you're anything like me you want to ace that off the bat.

  • It wouldn't hurt to get a feel for Land Nav techniques, just the basics, plotting points; and get use to different, rough terrain. Ruck around in the desert/hills/whatever with a friend.

  • For eating and related, see /r/fitness

  • 111221 profile - I have no idea what defines a 111221 profile but it's straightforward enough. If you get the 18x contract and you pass all the PT and make it past Airborne and get to SFAS and keep up without having a major fuckup (getting booted), VW'ing, getting injured, and actually getting selected (You can make it entirely through the 2 weeks and still not get selected if they don't see you as fit for SF).

  • Lifting heavy weights/benching/etc is much much less important then overall endurance for rucking and running, mixed with the right mental attitude/capacity, a little bit of luck, and a lot of dedication. Convince yourself that you're not leaving unless you're in a cast or dead.

You have two years to train? That's plenty if you use it wisely and actually dedicate your time and effort towards your future career.

Good luck if you decide to pursue enlisting!

For tons of information from current/past SF, see www.ProfessionalSoldiers.com - Do yourself a favor and just lurk though, they are not nice to new users and will gladly tear you a new one.

So I woke up this morning and brought the trash can in right at the same the UPS guy was bringing in my weight vest. Perfect timing since I was about to start my pull day. It's a 40lb vest. I've been doing 6x5 on pullups for a while now, though sometimes I scheme 4x7. I started my routine with a 1RM and managed a pullup pretty easily at 40lbs of weight. I'm pretty sure I could go higher. I'm thinking at least 60lbs for a 1RM, it was that easy.

That said, the vest itself is pretty nice. I ordered this Cross101 40lb weighted vest. It feels snug and has a compartment for an iPod and headphones (didn't know this when I ordered it). I ordered it with the shoulder pads but the pads are pretty thin and don't make much of a difference when it's fully weighted. The actual weights are a sandy material in 4 pound increments, 5 on the front, 5 on the back. They can be taken out and put in pretty easily all things considered. I plan on using these weights on my ankles as well for Hollow Hold/Rock and L-Sits.

My only worry now that I have it and have tried it is that I hope I didn't go too light. My progress seems to be pretty quick and I don't want to outpace the vest too soon in terms of what I can handle strength wise.

u/VMwareJesus · 11 pointsr/homegym

I hate my local gym(s). So. Damn. Much. I know it's just me. I'm impatient, intolerant, and generally just can't stand the douchers everywhere. So, I finally finished up my garage gym. It's not pretty, but it works. I just need a few more plates, and a really good deal on a row machine (and to clean up the other half of the garage).

There are a lot of opinions out there.

MiR makes the most comfortable vest, but they are super expensive.

ZFOsports makes one that's plenty comfy and usually less then half the price.

Those are the two best in my opinion. The others are just way too expensive for what you get.

EDIT: CAP Barbell also has one on amazon, and the prices are pretty fair. Unfortunately it does not fit as snugly as you will likely prefer, so it will require some home modification for our purposes. It's the same price as the ZFOsports vest, so I don't really see a good reason to not just go ahead and get the ZFO vest.

THe big advantage of the MRI vests is going to be for shorter people, because the weights are located higher up.

My solution for that is to buy the 80 lb vest, because the first 40 lbs of the ZFO vest are literally on the chest and upper back. For a smaller person, that's going to be perfect. We'll have some more specific guidelines and suggestions on the site.

u/jamesewelch · 2 pointsr/crossfit

I bought a cheap vest for like 60$ (https://www.amazon.com/ZFOsports-40LBs-Adjustable-Weighted-Vest/dp/B002P60ZZC/) a year+ ago and wore it a few times to CF WODs and running at home in prep for Murph. After wearing it a few times, I noticed it was just very uncomfortable (I'm a small guy) and it was bouncing around too much. I tightened it as tight as possible and I just couldn't get it to feel right (too much bouncing which lead to burns/bruises from the straps on my shoulders). This same vest is sold under a dozen different companies/names/logos, so you should be able to find it. It uses sand-like bags as the weights. I sold this one to a friend at the gym when I got my new vest...

A couple of the people at my gym used another vest from Hyper (https://www.onnit.com/hyper-vest-pro/). So I checked theirs out at the gym and immediately purchased one for me. It was 3-4x as expensive, but man, it's like night-and-day difference. Super comfortable. The sizing works great for me. I can run all day wearing this vest. I used this during our Thanksgiving Day Murph and loved wearing the vest (didn't love the extra weight during push-ups but just because I suck at push-ups). In prep for Murph, I ran a mile per day for 30 days wearing the vest and I fell in love with the vest.

u/cihmapoutlisce · 2 pointsr/Fitness

I've done relatively long-distance runs (3-6 miles) with weighted vests (20-40 lbs) and yeah, you need to be mindful of your body telling you to stop. IMHO I felt like the strain wasn't worth the gain. I use this for heavy walks and this for everyday. I hardly ever try sprinting but with all exercises, I'd try it body-weight-only until I was comfortable before weighting up.

Maybe more importantly: What kind of goal are you shooting for that you think adding weight is the right thing to do? If you're looking for leg strength, lift weights or do squats. Losing weight is so much easier by managing your food rather than exercising more. Getting "better" at running could mean go longer distances, running faster or just making it a more healthy habit...Not sure adding weights while running will help in all those areas :)

u/JapanimeMind · 1 pointr/CosplayHelp

There's this weighted vest which is approximately $70, but will allow your friend to show of a green/ camo athletic long sleeved shirt underneath it with a heavy weight lifting belt. If you go this route, you can glue some straps to the underneath side of the vest and belt to make the look like they're attached. Then just add in any extra details you see fit.

I would recommend looking around for tactical vests or weighted vests until you find what you feel works best.

Edit: Pricing is different if you want the vest only ($70) it becomes more expensive if you add the weights.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/homefitness

I love using my weight vest to increase my ability to do weighted squats and lunges at home since I don't have a squat rack. The heaviest dumbells I can hold are 30 lbs and I don't feel safe hoisting a heavy barbell over my head without a spotter or squat rack so I was limited to 60 lb squats for awhile until I got my vest. Here's the one I got and I LOVE it: MIR women's 30 lb adjustable weighted vest

I also use my Empower 8 lb weighted vest to do weighted Tabata intervals. I like to use this when I do Cathe Friedrich's Crossfire workout during the firewalker tabata section. It's really improved my jumping ability and height!

u/OnlyAllegedly · 1 pointr/Karting

I just found this and it's really growing on me. It's basically the same as a chest protector anyway (maybe not as supportive or with as much impact protection, etc., but the gist is similar and should add some g-load support) and shouldn't affect the driver's ability to operate the gas/brake or steer significantly. That way, drivers could be weighed on a scale and have weights added to their vest and then they wouldn't need to be assigned to a specific kart and electric tracks that require swapping karts between races wouldn't be affected. To make it most fair, they could even require the heavy drivers to wear a vest with no weights just so they have the same "restraint".

The track I'm trying to get to use these is a OTL Storm Evo track, but I might also try to pitch it to a track that runs Sodi GT5 karts (Sodi does make a weight box, but the current fleet doesn't have them). If the implementation is fairly easy and leads to some good racing, I think it might help competitive indoor karting become a hit and not just be a hot lap grab bag of 120 lb stick figures and 250 lb dudes that like barbecue too much.

Congratulations!!!! You look great!!!

>I’m not sure if I could manage to introduce a gym membership to properly build muscle because of the time, cost, inconvenience but mostly because I would have no idea where to get started with that.

Check out /r/bodyweightfitness

Also, a person can easily develop total-body muscular strength using a minimum amount of equipment. The following weight training lifts do this:

  • Deadlift. This can be done at home with just weights and a barbell. No other equipment required. Deadlifts work literally every muscle in your body except for your chest.

  • Pushups. Pushups work all the muscles in your arms and chest. If pushups are too easy, you can increase the amount of weight using a weighted vest. Weighted vests are adjustable.

  • Goblet squat. Goblet squats use a dumbbell instead of a barbell. So, very little equipment is needed. Also, adjustable dumbbells are affordable. So, you can easily increase the weight as you get stronger.

I actually JUST got my 40lb ZFO weight vest today. Ordered it Sunday from their ebay store $59.99. I'm happy with my purchase. Mini-review:

Adjustable for a snug fit. Weights are 16 2.5lb bags that you can pull out of their pouches to adjust the weight. I wouldn't recommend running in it, but I got it for the same exercises you listed above. I'm a small guy (5' 8", 38" chest) so it's actually slightly uncomfortable for me to do pullups with, as my shoulders cause the straps to push into my neck, but whatever... it's not all that bad. Fine range of motion for dips and pushups.

It's sold on Amazon as well, but I wanted to use Paypal. They also have 60 and 80lb versions.

I also considered this vest but I ended going with the ZFO one because there are more reviews and I've seen it around for over 5 years.

Hope that helps!

EDIT*
Oof, just noticed Amazon charges $28 shipping. Get it at the ebay store for free shipping!

ok, here is what you can and maybe should do:

there are glasses for looking longer times at monitors, like these here. they reduce the blue light -> less eye strain and easier to sleep.

try to get off sugar step by step (year by year), not all at once:

  • go from sugar rich drinks to mainly water
  • reduce sugar intake through food (fat is super OK though)
  • avoid also sugar replacements

do some sports, especially good would be fighting sports, karate, judo, hema, etc. and swimming (especially endurance swimming). or anything else with meditation character.

    have a regular sleep cycle.

for school you could attach some weights, those stimulate and reduce the urge for movement. like this and/or this

Looking for a routine critique. I'm following a PPLPPLR schedule.

Stats: M/26/180 ~15% bodyfat, I'd say probably closer to 16.
Goals: Put on a few lbs of quality muscle before End of February, then cut while working in some sprint triathlon training.

Hey there,

First, I think it's awesome that you want to do this. Hardest part = done.

Second, to echo troublesome's comment, what's wrong with the back? If there is something wrong, we need to know before designing a program.

Next, are you able to do a fly motion with your arm?

Some stuff I would advise right off the bat is to definitely balance your calorie burning focused workouts with mass building. Maybe 2-3 days a week you do full body workouts, and another 2-3 days you do running/core work.

Buy a weighted vest. It will let you exercise with weight equally distributed over your body. Something like this

Focus on lower body exercises -- they boost your testosterone naturally and work your core too. If you want to gain size and burn calories, this is the best way. I'm brainstorming all exercises that don't require two hands. Normally I stay away from machines, but you need to stabilize the load somehow.

Legs:
-Best
Leg press machine
Hack Squat machine
-Good
Leg extension machine
Leg curl machine

For your upper body...you shouldn't need both hands gripping for this
flys
Machine Pullovers - can your shoulder handle this?

>Also, I'm a bit self conscious about my chest, but I'm afraid to work it out because I can't really do it on my right side, and I'd hate to have a horribly unbalanced chest. Maybe that's getting ahead of myself, I don't know.

Yes, I think you're a bit ahead of yourself. If you start to notice a major imbalance, then you could cut back. However, I think some studies show that working one side can still stimulate some growth on the other side.

I'll get back to you when I think of more things, and contact me if you want some help. I worked in college as a certified trainer at the gym.

u/Civtrix · -1 pointsr/Fitness

Hey guys, well I'm trying to find a workout schedule to gain muscle and be bigger basically. Height: 5, 4 Weight: 109lbs bodyfat: 13%
I can't go to the gym because there isn't any close by, but I was able to get my hands on a multi-home gym similar to this: amazon.com/Marcy-Multifunction-Steel-150lb-MWM-988/dp/B0090OKEB2 and a pair of 11lb dumbells.

If you guys could give me a routine to get me started something that incorporates the dumbells and the multi-gym thing I'd appreciate it. I'm just so lost on where to begin. And I want to start looking bigger and not just some skinny 17yr.

Also, I'm bulking up by drinking a shake that gives me about 800/900 calories. It contains: 1 banana, 1.5 cups of water, 1 cup of oats, 2 Tbsp Honey, 2 Tbsp of peanut butter. My daily calories intake without the shake is about 1500 cals. Let me know if I should be changing anything. I'd appreciate any feedback, Thank you guys!

A year ago I was gifted a MIR Vest and I have to say, it's damn awesome. It's main advantage is that it stays on your upper chest, allowing you to perform high speed activities (run/jump) without it wobbling around and feeling awkward. If you have the money, something like it would be a good investment.

Mine is something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/MiR-Adjustable-Weighted-WEIGHTS-INCLUDED/dp/B002E0S5I8/ref=sr_1_23?s=exercise-and-fitness&ie=UTF8&qid=1313759890&sr=1-23

Just find one that doesn't include the weights as that is what is adding so much cost. Making your own weights is easy and way cheaper.

u/JohnBeamon · 1 pointr/weightlifting

It's my opinion that the actual oly lifts have a high cost of mastery for athletes in team sports; not everyone agrees with me. I would do basic SS, but different assistance work. Squats paired with box jumps. Power cleans and upright rows. A few overhead squats and handstands.

Go slow on the weight gain. Get a 10lb weight vest for your plyo and running. +50 will slow your mechanics down greatly, but +10 is next season's target weight. If you really want to pick up WL as an off-season sport, that's awesome. Just consider it a second sport instead of assistance work for basketball. All in my humble opinion.

u/HighestHand · 2 pointsr/bodyweightfitness

I have two, one is a 40 pound vforce max typhoon color that Chris Heria uses and costs $190. This one is great and I love it.

The other is a 20 pound CAP from amazon for $40 bucks. It was a bitch to set up but after it is set up, it’s pretty good.

CAP Barbell (HHWV-CB020C) Adjustable Weighted Vest, 20-Pound https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017O7Q4UG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_KrY5BbP2DMT3X

This is the one I have and can vouch for (after set up of course) but cap has lots of weight options.

I use them both for squats, pushups and pull-ups.

I have a cheap, but reliable recumbent bike: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002KV1MJU

I think I'd recommend jumping rope, jogging, or doing some HIIT over a recumbent bike, though.

For strength:
A door frame pull up bar: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ND04U4
Push up handles: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002OEQ50Y
Set of adjustable dumbbells: http://www.amazon.com/Pair-Adjustable-Dumbbells-Cast-Total/dp/B007WKK5HE

A weight vest or belt, something to add weight to body weight exercises like pull ups, dips, and push ups. These can get spendy (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002IU8ZCA), but are a good way to continue progressive overload on body weight exercises.

A bench with incline/decline and leg raise/ham curl piece on the end.

I had a similar question about weighted vests not so long ago and it seems that this one is the perfect choice:

RUNFast rm40p RUNmax 12lb-140lb Weighted Vest (with Shoulder Pads, 40lb)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AJ12MBE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_1Lm.AbKZJ3WN3

I wouldn’t recommend running with a weighted vest. For walking, hiking, push-ups & pull ups it’s going to be a awesome buy

weighted vests work great on boxvr workouts involving squats/dodging..

I'm using this one -

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002P60ZZC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

works ok but really bulky (I have the 40lb model, with about 30lb's on it..).. given that I'm only using partial the weight on there (you can remove weights in 2.5lb increments)), I think a lighter/better fitted vest might be better..

I'm also using these wrist weights- but - most people really caution against using wrist weights. I feel as if they make a big difference, but be careful w/ quick wrist movements while wearing these - (note - ignore that these are marketed to women.. they're the best wrist weights I've found after going through a few different brands and even give a bit of wrist support..)

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JFRPZD5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 (2lb total, 1lb/wrist - I use these for beat saber)

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JFRPZD5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 (4lb total, 2lb/wrist - i use these for boxvr)

Thrill needs nothing to make it harder. If you are playing to your level you should be working out plenty. If you are looking to bulk up I'm not sure thrill of the fight is gonna do that. It's def a cardio workout but an effective one.

I bought this one like 5 years ago and I still use it a lot. Goes from 5 pounds up to 40 using sand packs. It's bulkier than some other ones but I've never had an issue using it and I've used it a good chunk.

I have this vest and love it. Under $80 and the thing is tough. Comes with 40# worth of sand bags that can be adjusted in 5# increments and moved around according to your preference. It's a similar design to the MiR vests with half the cost. Plus if you have Prime free two day shipping.

I got a cheap-ish no-name vest from my local fitness store about 7 years ago, has 1lb sandbags that go into pockets for adjusting from 2-40lbs. I don't use it every week, but the thing's held together just fine; they really don't get beat on unless you're trying to do something weird. Its design is similar to this one.

I've also worn this style and didn't like it as much since the short length made me feel top heavy, while the longer cut of my sand vest just makes me feel weighted, not off-balance.

I would definitely get a purpose built vest with adjust ability rather than trying to rig my own, but don't think you need to spend ridiculous amounts of money - and if you go to your local fitness shop you can ensure the fit is comfortable.

u/havocshack · 3 pointsr/crossfit

I have used this vest for the last 3 years in Murph and other weighted vest workouts. All the weights are in the front, and it fits nice and snug. It’s great and less than $40 US dollars. Link to vest on Amazon.

How heavy do you need? This one is up to 20 lbs, and is a good shape/size but their are ones goes to up to 100lbs. Basically, get one that is a good size, I dont like the ones that ride high on the shoulder, I liked the weight to be more evenly distributed accross my chest/abs/back.

Obviously, get an adjustable one, and dont get a super cheap one that will rip. A buddy of mine grabbed one of the walmart ones and it ripped the first hike he took it on.

They also make weighted shorts for even further distribution of the weight.

They have different weights and of course you can make it lighter by removing the sandbag things in them.

Oooks like its a bit kore expensive but idk i like it better cause its more comfy than a backpack.

CAP Barbell Adjustable Weighted Vest, 50 lb https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015XUL74E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_9ntGDb3GTV2AY

Here it is. Not only does it help you get in shape but it will build some serious discipline. One goal I have related to this is to “beat the sun up.” If I do this then I have started my day off with a win!

u/nfiniteshade · 1 pointr/Fitness

I got this one when it was on sale for ~$40.
Seems to hold up well, the velcro is fine for anything but distance running, in which case you might want to actually use the fasteners, which are admittedly somewhat overcomplicated. Goes up to 40 lbs, and my roommate and I have both been very satisfied with our vests so far.

u/123Purrr · 3 pointsr/proED

Weighted blankets are awesome for anxiety so I looked around Amazon. Weighted hoodies and vests in adult sizes are expensive! Totally need to get one still but in case others aren't made of money:

12lb weighted vest for $32.99 isn't too terrible. Forreal forreal though I really want a weighted hoodie now I had no idea that was a thing like you blew my mind

u/nefffffffffff · 2 pointsr/Firefighting

When you are first starting out you can just grab a backpack and put some weight in it, use books, sandbags, water bottles, etc. You're gonna want it high and snug so it doesn't bounce around mulch and hurt your back. Wear it the same way you'd wear an scba.

When you're ready to make a bigger investment you can go to sports authority or any sporting goods store (or probably even Walmart) and buy a weight vest. They are made for training so the weight is evenly distributed and can be increased or decreased. You can get them on Amazon too if you can't find one near where you live, but shipping might be pretty high.

An example of what I'm talking about: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01464GUOU/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1465397820&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=weight+vest&dpPl=1&dpID=41YNaNsLwZL&ref=plSrch

u/that-freakin-guy · 1 pointr/Fitness

I have this guy that's been pretty good to me, however I have a huge issue with the sandbags. They tend to pop and leak sand if you're rough with them, so that's a warning to you.

Otherwise, the vest came with the required weights, is easy to use, and is really a pleasure to wear. Anything above 20 lbs require really strong traps however, because the weight will be sitting on your shoulders. It's not unbearable, but it's uncomfortable for the first few days as you get used to it.

u/isthisallforme · 1 pointr/crossfit

Got this one and used it for Murph yesterday and it worked great.

Do you have amazon prime? This includes free shipping ($97 for 40lbs). Though this is actually cheaper, even with the $29 in shipping

u/YellowShorts · 1 pointr/navyseals

Someone recommended this vest to me. I haven't tried it, but I like how it has smaller weights that you can add, to make it more customizable. Instead of just one giant weight

u/bigmacjames · 5 pointsr/crossfit

This is the one that I have. I love it and it stays fairly tight to your body. The only thing is you should wear a shirt that isn't super thin or else you'll get some chafing.

Edit: Also forgot to say that you can take out or leave in as much weight as you want in 4 pound increments.

u/eff-o-vex · 3 pointsr/bodyweightfitness

I bought a 20 lbs vest off Amazon for ~50 canadian dollars last year. Price has increased to 62 CAD apparently :

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B017O7Q4UG/

It's basically a vest with a bunch of small pockets and 20 1-pound sandbags.

u/contrapti0n · 1 pointr/crossfit

I have the HumanX 20lb vest - $75 from Amazon and it works just fine for me.

u/tighe_15 · 3 pointsr/crossfit

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LH7Z942/

adjustable to 40# in 4# increments. It sits a little low, though you can slide it forward/back some to try to get the front weights a little higher. I did Murph in it this past week and it stayed pretty solidly strapped the whole time, very little looseness.

u/BamBamFoo · 2 pointsr/bodyweightfitness

Mine was purchased four years ago here. There are different weight capacities from which to choose by this manufacturer. Mine has had a lot of usage and has held up well.

u/borntoperform · 3 pointsr/bodyweightfitness

You can, provided you have the money to buy an adjustable weight vest. Because one of the other commenters had a pretty visceral response ("mostly overpriced garbage"), I'm assuming not a lot of people here have the funds to spend $100 on exercise equipment. But I do, and I bought a vest that allows you to adjust weight. It's expensive, but 'expensive' is relative. If you're going to put it to use, it's never expensive. I also bought two sandbags, one that's your basic sandbag and another that's a 'strongman' sandbag. Each were about $100 and what people here would call 'overpriced garbage' but I use them every week.

i'd do light finger rolls to warm up for the hang board OR light hang board and then heavy rolls. Never double hard, IMO. But i mean, that's just cause i'm newer than you and fear the tendon snap.

and buy that weight vest now. Why not? if you'll use it, it's worth it.

As for campus board, i wouldn't do double down dynos, that shit is too extreme and will just hurt you long run. but if you got a good regiment, do it.

u/ElevationGain · 1 pointr/hiking

It will be hard to get that much weight in such a small pack without using water or weights, so perhaps you should just use a weighted pack/vest like ZFOsports 40LBs Adjustable Weighted Vest https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002P60ZZC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_wRVSDbSKGDVAF
I have no experience with this product, but I’ve seen people hiking with similar vests for a workout.

One more thing. I'm assuming you're playing standing up, in which case check this out, too:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AJ12MBE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You will want the one with the shoulder pads. The weight things are adjustable, so you can start low and work yourself up.

I did these for the gloves, and wound up cutting the fingers down to interfere less with buttons:
