Note 1: These are known as Perfect Fit cards, they fit snugly and are intended to fit the exact specifications of "Standard" size cards like Magic, or Pokemon, and almost any modern board game -- especially those produced for the US market. They are designed to fit inside other sleeves to protect valuable TCG/CCG cards -- they are not superior protection on their own. Yet, for many years they were my go-to; they improve shuffling as well as any other, they add minimal bulk for those that like to keep the original boxes for games, and they are sufficient protection for a responsible gamer who doesn't need to worry about kids/pets/spills as a frequent occurrence. Also note, that there are two packages available for the KMC prouct -- the red on in the image and a new, blue, "USA" pack that is intended to cut down on counterfeit product.

I would have recommended KMC first if not for my recent experience with Sleeve Kings. KMC Perfects are only a good value when bought in that bulk pack, and I cannot recommend you purchase them any other way because they are 40-60% cheaper in bulk. I am worried that at some point the bulk distribution will dry up due to manufacturer obligations or counterfeiting problems, and I'll be stuck re-sleeving games to match expansions. At this current time, King Sleeves represents my best value proposition for the general collector, especially if you don't find yourself needing thousands of sleeves at a time like we do (with my games and my spouse' Pokemon collection). They represent a product that is the same rough price-per-sleeve as KMC, without the need to buy 10 packs at a time. They also better protection, and other sizes, so your collection can be sleeved with uniformity. I cannot comment on overall pack-to-pack consistency -- some nerds will be able to tell you that you'll absolutely want to buy all the sleeves you'll need from the same run or the sizes will be off by a smidge regardless of the manufacturer (I'll spare you why this causes problems, but it does), but King Sleeves claims to have largely addressed this issue.

If you have other games that you want to get into sleeving, you might consider that bulk pack of KMC. Nothing in the world like a Perfect Fit sleeve. But, if I had the option to do so years ago, I'd probably go with King Sleeves for all my games; alas, King Sleeves was not around when I joined the hobby. What's important is that you consider that some day you might have to integrate a new expansion or promo, and you'll need to make sure you have the same sleeves as the rest are in. For that reason it's too late for me, I'm years in and thousands of sleeves deep. I can't say that the thin, snug nature of the sleeve hasn't been a benefit because some games are j u s t able to fit in the original box, and anything thicker would have changed that. But, the King Sleeves feel much nicer. At any rate, our current process is any Standard sleeve goes in KMC Perfect, and other size gets King Sleeves.

Note 2: The odd-shaped sizes in this game are PARTICULARLY odd. I was only able to find one manufacturer (NSKN/PALADIN) that ever offered the exact sizes, and they no longer offer them for sale. So, in effort to give you at least something, I found the next-nearest-size that King offers. These will be TOO LARGE in both cases. You may wish to use your best judgement on if that will be a problem for you, versus leaving them unsleeved entirely. Some madmen will tell you to take the taller sleeves and cut them, but that's ridiculous. I'd probably consider leaving them unsleeved and encourage poeple, politely, to leave them on the table unless touching necessary.

I decided to start collecting with Steam Siege and Generations. Figuring out the best way to keep stuff was daunting at first. After going through all of TCC's videos and lurking in this and the collection sub, this is the system I settled on:

-Each Set gets its own 1" binder. Be sure to use a D-ring style so the pages sit evenly on top of each other. I like these from Office Max/Depot because they open and close easily and have a pin-hole style of lock so it ensures alignment of the rings and minimizes catching pages.

--In the inside pocket of the cover, I put the Trainer's Guide from the ETB of the set, fits nicely in the larger of the 2 pockets. Make sure you don't put anything in the back cover's pockets, as that could make an uneven surface for your cards to rest on if you leave the binders on their sides.

--Then, each binder starts with a 4-pocket binder sheet to store one of each booster art for the set.

--After the booster page, I organize the cards by set number, starting with the core set followed by the parallel set. I use Ultra pro's 18 pocket side loading card pages for storing the cards. Pretty much hands down the best. I prefer the black backing and only want to put 1 card in each pocket. Nice fit, though I noticed some scratches/imperfections in clarity on the batch I got. Not a big deal for me, as they are still very durable, but may be for others.

---Basic cards go into a KMC perfect fit sleeve upside-down and then into the binder page. Good protection, tight fit, not too much cost. KMC's are pretty universally accepted as the best. As some have said, too tight a fit could damage a card, too loose and it wont fit for double sleeving. I've never had a KMC perfect fit that was too tight, maybe a little loose, but never tight that it could cause damage. Looser ones I just put to the side for storing non-foil cards and not for double sleeving.

---Any foil card (Holos, parallels, URs, SRs, etc.) go into a KMC perfect fit upside down, and then into a black KMC Hyper Mat before going into the binder. I usually double sleeve a stack of cards and then put them into a tight deck box or under a stack of books for a week or so to squeeze out all the air before putting them into the binder.

-Any extra cards then get stored in the ETB for the set they are from. Organize them however you like, but I keep one section for a playset of up to 4 of each card, and any copies above that go into a second 'trash/trade' section. Eventually I may put the playsets of 4 cards into penny sleeves just to keep things sorted more easily, but I don't have too much surplus yet to warrant it. Again, I always keep things ordered by set number.

--Here, any extra foil cards will get sleeved. Right now I am just using Ultra Pro's deck protectors since I ran out of perfect fits, but really don't like how they have the stippled surface on the inside of the sleeve as well. I can feel it scratching the edges/back of the card each time I sleeve one. Particularly valuable rares or holos may get double sleeved for better protection, but still get stored in the box.

-For actual play, I would stick to KMC hyper mats. Good shuffle feel, and last longer than the Ultra Pro's. I played a game with a buddy with my deck sleeved in the Ultra pro's and loved the shuffle feel, but the sleeves just break too easily if you catch a corner. Also they aren't opaque, KMC's are definitely the better looking.

First class mail package/thick envelope works absolutely fine with 4x8 bubble mailers. It costs about $2.67 if you purchase the postage through eBay, and you get the added bonus of free tracking and delivery confirmation. When you're shipping more valuable cards, you might want to spring for insurance (pay out of your own pocket if the buyer didn't request it specifically). It's pretty cheap and is a good way to play it safe.

 
Here's the method I've used for shipping hundreds of cards on eBay, with absolutely no problems whatsoever. You'll need the following supplies:

Penny sleeve
Toploader
Team bag
Scotch tape
Packing tape

 

1. Place the card you want to ship upside down in the penny sleeve, then fold the excess bit of plastic back up from the open end of the sleeve. This will keep the card from sliding out of the penny sleeve.
    
   
   
2. Slide the penny-sleeved card into the toploader, starting with the folded end of the penny sleeve. Be sure to keep the penny sleeve folded while you do this. It might be a bit tricky to get the card into the toploader, but it won't fall out of the penny sleeve once you do.
    
   
   
3. Tap the bottom of the toploader against a hard surface a couple times if need be to make sure the card is all the way inside and level. Then, tape a piece of scotch tape and tape up the open end of the toploader. Make sure to use a bit longer piece of tape than you need, and fold on end over itself to make a tab on one side of the toploader. This will ensure that the card won't fall out of the toploader during shipping while making it easier for your buyer to get the card out.
    
   
   
4. Place top toploader inside a team bag and seal it. In the event that your bubble mailer gets wet, this should ensure the card remains undamaged.
    
   
   
5. Print out the order invoice, fold it up, and place it inside the bubble mailer along with the toploader. Seal the bubble mailer, then place a piece of packing tape over the flap of the bubble mailer to ensure it stays shut.
    
   
   
6. Print out your postage. You can use a regular piece of printer paper if need be, but I'd definitely recommend going with an adhesive address label. Better yet, if you'll be shipping in volume I'd recommend getting a thermal printer (I've got a Dymo LabelWriter 4XL that's awesome), because then you don't have to worry about smudging, even if the address label gets damp.
    
   
   
7. Apply the postage to the outside of the bubble mailer. If you're using regular printer paper, be sure to tape all edges with packing tape to ensure it stays in place. Then place a piece of packing tape over the addresses. Again, this step is unnecessary if you invest in a thermal printer.
    
   
   Hope this information helps anyone looking for a worry-free way to ship cards!

I do this with my Scion Dragon Tribal EDH deck. I can't tell you his setup, but I can tell you what I've found to work well:

KMC Perfect Fits, as the inner-sleeve, put on upside down, so the opening is at the bottom of the card.

Any Normal Sleeve works as your mid sleeve. For the tightest fit, use KMC Matte (NOT SILK); however I use Ultra-Pro Illustrated ones, because the outer sleeves make the shuffle feel nice; so no worries about the middle one. These are put on normally, opening at the top of the card.

Finally, KMC Character Guards. These go on upside down, with the openings at the bottom; and make the deck feel like a more smooth KMC shuffle-feel. Wonderful together, but be prepared for a REALLY thick deck. Can be tough to shuffle all the cards with smaller hands.

In total; you'll need 1 set of Inner-Sleeves; 1-2 Sets of Middle-Sleeves depending if you buy a back with at least 100 in it; or if you just get a couple packs of 60-80; and 2 packs of Outer Sleeves. It can be a bit pricy, but nothing protects like it; 'cept maybe a top loader over each, haha.

EDIT: While I would 100% Recommend Dragon Shield Matte sleeves to anyone who plays Magic; I wouldn't recommend Triple sleeving with them as the middle sleeve. They're a little taller than most other sleeves, and might stick out more with the outer-sleeves. Haven't tested, but be Wary; like good ol' Norin.

"Cheating"? Nope.

So WHAT if someone sees that the next card to draw is a Crabs card not a CAH card? It's one of an entire deck (or two, or three, or six) of the Crabs cards mixed in, so the person drawing doesn't know what he/she gets. Might be a good one, it might suck. You don't know until it's in your hand. Besides, it's the next white card to draw, so there's not a helluva lotta choice.

So WHAT if the czar notices that Bobby is the person who submitted the only Cocks Abreast Humility card this round? As long as the Czar isn't trying to make sure Bobby wins or loses, but is just picking the card he/she genuinely finds the funniest of all the submitted cards, it's all good.

I've played with a "mixed packs" deck for years, and it's never been a detriment to the fun of anybody playing because the different backs are visible.

Besides, most people playing don't seriously keep score. And even if you do keep score and declare a winner, it's not about winning. It's about laughing and having good times with friends.

"I don't want to spend $300 on sleeves" Me either. I don't buy those high-end sleeves that have the opaque backs. I buy sleeves that are less than a penny each just to protect the cards if someone spills their beer on them (has happened before; that's why I began sleeving).

I've played these a handful of times. The ones I can comment on:

• Ally Rally - Rally Mechanic plus Veteran Warleader teach you to manage your cards effectively. I'm not the biggest fan of it because of how often I've gotten stuck with a [[Tajuru Warcaller]] and only 1 green source. Straightforward and fair play.
  
• Aether Flux - A very funny deck. This seems significantly harder to play correctly, so I don't recommend it for beginners.
  
• Thermal Detonator - This is really fun to play, but it doesn't really play as an "aggressive" deck. There are plenty of moments where a player needs to choose between playing a spell for immediate value or getting out another Alchemist / Guttersnipe. One of my favorites. It's decently interactive, and nothing is more satisfying than hitting your opponent in the face 10 times.
  
• Aura Blight - I am such a sucker for this deck. It teaches control playstyle and I think it's really fun as far as battle decks go. But it feels pretty unfair for your opponent.
  
• Emerging Evil - A solid deck that gets a little bit of everything. Evasive creatures, ramp, control, card advantage. Not my favorite to play, but a good deck to learn with IMO.
  
  I'd probably get 4 of those, and then a few packs of penny sleeves (these sleeves are less than $2) and some d20's / d6's / tokens for tracking stuff. Ally Rally & Emerging Evil are both pretty good for learning how to play fair, and then you can get 2 more decks that are less "fair" like Aura Blight or Thermal Detonator.
  
  Decks I haven't played: Warriors! seems to show up a lot, so I'm assuming it's popular. Sphinx Control looks a lot like a classic control deck. Spider Spawning also seems pretty sweet.

You've received some great advice. Here's my take (after watching countless hours of the Professor on Tolarian Community College youtube channel).

• The ultra pro deck boxes are a great start!
  
• For about the same price, try out the ultra pro 'pro-dual' deck box. It holds two decks (or one deck plus dice/counters) all in one convenient spot! (link)
  
• The elite trainer boxes are a great value, and the box is excellent for storing cards. You can put cards in directly (like the picture provided above) or you can even fit the Ultra Pro deck boxes inside. (link
  
• The elite trainer box also includes card sleeves that you can use to protect your kids' deck. These are not the strongest sleeves, but they look great and are much better than nothing. If the kids are yanking cards in and out of these they may get beat up pretty quickly, so you'll have to decide if it's worth using sleeves at this point.
  
• Inner sleeves (or penny sleeves) are clear transparent sleeves. These will provide a bit of protection and can be used permanently (no need to ever take them out of these). Cards sleeved with these can then be 'double sleeved' in the bigger outer sleeves (like the ones included in the elite trainer box) for maximum protection. Inner sleeves are slick so trying to use them without an outer sleeve may prove difficult as the cards will slide around and not stack well. (link)

There's a lot of sleeve reviews on Youtube, but I'd like to weigh in on this.

I have roughly 400 games with huge chunk of them sleeved, and a box of sleeves in just about every size and brand possible. Fantasy Flight makes great sleeves, though Panasia beats every hands down by price. Mayday is close, and appear to use juuuust slightly better quality than Panasia. Ultrapro is pretty good, about as good as Fantasy Flight, but they have that damn emblem in the corner. Surprisingly, I've only ever had Ultrapros rip and that was while shuffling cards in Avalon.

As for thinness, Mayday and Panasia make the thin ones, but thin means not as durable. I sleeved my Legendary Games (Predator, Aliens, Firefly, and Big Trouble In Little China) with Ultrapro because I got like 600 cards on Amazon for $27 (link here: https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Protectors-Sleeves-Standard-Colors/dp/B00HOI5KSS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1494267860&sr=8-2&keywords=ultra+pro+600). Somehow, the price hasn't changed since I lost bought some, and I think I have a stock of a few hundred left.

Edit: For what it's worth, I sleeved Terraforming Mars with Panasia and I regret it. The sleeves stick together because the sweat from being handled so much just sticks to the cards. Just posting this makes me want to go back and unsleeve/resleeve them. I pray for my fingers...

Double edit: I actually sleeved three of my Legendary games with Mayday sleeves, not Ultrapro. I think I got them for $2.50 per 100, which was cheaper than Ultrapro. They've held up fine and they're quite thin.

Perfect fit sleeves fit your card... well, perfectly. They are just barely bigger than the card and are meant to be used with regular sleeves. Just an added layer of protection. I used to use them when I played MTG for some of my super expensive decks. They make your decks super bulky and I personally don’t think they are necessary unless you are playing some super expensive cards or if you wanna add a tiny degree of water protection to your cards. Also be warned that some people claim that certain kinds of perfect fits can warp your cards.

Penny sleeves are way bigger than cards and can offer some protection if you’re just putting cards in a binder or top loader. They’re not really for playing. (Your cards will fall out and it will be impossible to shuffle.) Most people use them for storage. Personally I use them when I mail cards in a trade or something. It’s really not doing much except maybe protection from scratches. When I say they are big I mean you could probably put 5-7 cards in 1 penny sleeve.

For non-CCGs I use KMC Perfect Fit sleeves. They're super thin (doesn't completely wreck deck/stack height,) fit cards quite snugly, and provides plenty of scuff/wet protection as well as easier/side shuffling.

My RFTG+expansions, Pandemic, and Netrunner are all fully sleeved with them. Probably have over a thousand cards sleeved in them so far.

I'm really surprised nobody else really seems to use them. They're kind of pricey for not-exactly-penny-sleeves but the production tolerances obviously much stricter. (Last pack of cheap sleeves I got essentially had two different sizes of sleeves in the same pack. They literally went in the trash.)

For MtG/CCGs where you've got single cards valued at $10+ I use Dragon Shields. For drafting I sleeve everything Perfect Fits. Just because its better than playing raw.

edit: In my experience, all sleeves are oil slick when they're fresh. Play a couple times to break them in and they're fine.

Regarding dragon sleeves and splitting, I find Dragon Sleeves split FAR more often than Perfect Fits. Maybe all KMCs are better in that regard, or maybe fitting much tighter just means less stuff to snag. To Dragon Sleeves' credit, you get 105-110 in a "box of 100" so you do have some extras when they split. It would be infuriating to buy a box of a certain color for a MtG Commander deck (100 cards exactly,) have one split, and then need to buy another entire box of that color.

The KMC Hyper Mat (Matte) Premiums are probably the less opaque of the KMC brand sleeves. They have a different back texture in comparison to the KMC Hyper Mats (Mattes), but the plastic on the front is slightly more glossy, which slightly clouds viewing (you can still see your card perfectly clear, but it doesn't quite let the foils "pop"). It's super minor, but if you're going for the backs not showing, the different texture does help. I think they come in colors other than black, but you have to look around (Amazon is my reference point). Ask your LGS for them.


You're making a good decision by choosing KMCs, that's for sure. The Premiums also have a great shuffle feel if that helps.

Edit: I should have referenced you to the Professor for further details on the Premiums. As they say, it's never too late.


Also should have said this earlier (and my spelling was bad too...that's what happens when I reddit before my AM coffee), but I use these sleeves and have never had an issue with seeing the backs of cards with them. I believe they are the Premiums, but I could be wrong. They have the gloss and texture, so I'm assuming they're Premiums. If they have the same type of plastic in white as they do in black, you shouldn't have an issue with seeing your cards. I use KMCs for everything and they work wonderfully with my double faced cards. I'd recommend them to anyone. My buddy who uses Dragon Shields shuffled with my cards and couldn't stop for a solid hour (I have weird friends). He couldn't believe how they can pull off double sleeving so well and how nicely they shuffled. So there's that upside plus the visibility. Judges seem to like them.

For sleeves, it's hard to go wrong with Dragon Shields or Pro Mattes. They tend to be the most popular, because they last for a long time, and you get enough of them that split sleeves are easily replaceable. The big difference to me is between glossy and matte sleeves. Dragon Shield has both, Pro Mattes are... well... matte. Matte sleeves tend to be a bit thinner and slicker, while glossy ones are a bit thicker and stickier. That makes matte sleeves easier to shuffle (for me,) but they slide around a little more, so your deck's easier to knock over. The glossy ones shuffle a little worse, but they rarely slip around on a table (though I find they also are more likely to pull two cards on an HQ access.) The official Netrunner sleeves look really nice, but I stopped using them because they're really hard to shuffle, they're just too sticky.

Boxes, it all kind of depends on what you like. Dragon Shield sleeves are nice because they can come in a cardboard box you can use as a deckbox. The boxes you get from tournaments are really nice, but I understand that you might not be able to grab one right out of the gate. (Though if you went to a tournament in the Bay Area, most regulars that win deck boxes would be incredibly happy to give one away... I'd be amazed if that wasn't true elsewhere.) I use Ultra Pro boxes. They're fairly cheap, but they open and close easily, and they're not the stupid velcro boxes like the official MTG ones, where the velcro always comes off immediately.

500 sleves for < £20 and they are great quality and feel great. I don't double sleeve my cards and I love the clear sleeves as they let you see the archon art. They feel good in the hand and, honestly, I can't tell the difference between these and the Dragon shield sleeves I used originally.

Turntable: That's pretty much the setup I have. I like it. Do you need the acrylic platter? I don't think so. But it does look great. The Cue is nice to have, though I find myself using it less and less these days.

Preamp / Receiver: This will depend on the speakers you go with. You mention the Mackie CR4s. I also have those. But note that those are powered speakers, which means you don't need an amp/receiver. For those, you just need a preamp. And for a preamp, I'd go with the one U-Turn offers. It's regarded as a good preamp.

Speakers: The Mackie CR4s are very nice bookshelf speakers. If bookshelf speakers are going to work for you, they'll work. If you have a larger room or simply want a really loud, full system, then you likely want to go with floor speaker and a receiver.

RCAs: The ones that come with the U-Turn are great. In fact they are better than the fancy ones I bought.

For inner sleeves, the two you mentioned are pretty much the two brands everyone uses.

For stylus cleaning, the zerodust is great. I, again, opted for cheaper and went with the Magic Eraser method.

So I think that a pauper cube sounds like what you want to do. This is an all-commons cube, which, like you say, will allow fun, well-balanced play. It'll also be a bit lower complexity than a power cube would be, which is better for new players (as opposed to things like putting Eldrazi under a Mimic Vat).

The cards themselves will likely cost less than $100 - you may already have a good number of them - and then you would just need sleeves. I recommend double sleeving with something like the KMC Perfect Size inner sleeves and the KMC Hyper Matte sleeves outside. This will keep your cards in good condition (yes, they're commons, but it's nice if they stay nice looking. Some people also choose to foil out their pauper cube, since it's a lot cheaper to do than foiling out a powered or higher-powered cube, and double sleeving will prevent bending).

All in all for probably less than $200 you can make a fun pauper cube. Good luck!

Just got a huge collection from my dad (lucky me) contains some first prints of Led Zeppelin II and IV (US not Germany) and tons of other beauties (my fave Steve Miller Band's first album first print) and I would just like to know the best way to keep them you know, safe. They aren't all the best quality condition wise but they're from my dad, so you know, sentimental.

I found Tolarian Community College browsing YouTube and although his videos are pretty cheesy and aimed for MTG, a lot of the same principles for card storage apply since MTG and PTCG both use the same standard size cards. After watching almost 80 of his videos (my wife is still laughing at me), I decided to forego my initial plans for storing cards in toploaders. I'll instead be using the toploaders I already bought to sell and trade cards through the mail. The #1 reason why I gave up on toploaders for storage was because the only solution I could find involved commissioning a custom box. I couldn't justify spending the $100's to $1,000's it would require to commission a company like Wyrmwood Quality Gaming Supplies to custom-make a wooden box of sufficient size to store toploaders.

The new storage solution I decided on was to buy 400 (200x2) KMC perfect fit inner sleeves and 400 KMC Hyper Mattes, plus the DEX Protection Creation Line - Medium Box for storing my play decks, the DEX Binder 12 for storing my personal collection, and the DEX Binder 4 for storing the cards I have available for trade.

Edit: Hidden among his hundreds of videos, I found this which includes a review of Kakapopo cases. It looks like the company stopped selling some of their other products in favor of their A2 Briefcase, B2 Carry Case, and D2 Case Cube. It looks like prices for these products are pretty steep and unfortunately they don't have the best reviews. But it's something!

I bet he will find several thousand more dollars worth of cards in there. He should invest in some sleeves and card holders in order to protect his cards. I prefer to double sleeve, then put it in a magic card binder (NOT a regular 3 ring binder) or in a top loaders.

You take the card and (carefully) put the card upside down into the Perfect Fit sleeves. The card should fit snugly in there. Then you put the card into the Playing Sleeve with the opening of the Perfect Fit sleeve at the bottom. Then put the whole thing into a top loader.

So Card -> Perfect Fit sleeve -> Playing Sleeve -> Top Loader

Edit to add: if they are in extremely good condition (like they look perfect straight out of the pack), it may be best to avoid the Perfect Fit because you can cause very small nicks in the corners if you're not careful putting them in which can affect their grade, but if they look like the Black Lotus you have there, then it's probably not a huge concern.

So, here's all the details on how people store Magic cards meant to be played, with links.

The gold standard for the number of Magic cards to store is 75 or 100 double sleeved cards. As long as your container can store this many cards in one section it will be at least useful to the owner. Additionally, no one really likes storing their cards flat like your current box. Cards are much, much easier to retrieve from the container if stored edge on (top or sides exposed as opposed to your front or back, look at the pictures below).

The Boulder deck box by Ultimate guard holds exactly the preferred number of cards, down to sub millimeter tolerance. 100 cards and 75 cards

Ultra pro makes a pretty ubiquitous soft plastic box for 75 cards and 100 cards which does offer a little more wiggle room.

They call their 75 card boxes 80 card boxes but that's referring to single sleeving and even single sleevers tend to appreciate the extra space for a few ancillary cards like tokens.

Also, we do not double sleeve with penny sleeves but inverted(open end at bottom of card) perfect^1 fit^2 sleeves and with regular^1 sleeves^2 over that.

Being able to hold cards is great but there is also some benefit to being able to hold a whole deck box. The Arkhive is a popular example. It holds snugly 5 x 75 card boulders and 4 x 100 card boulders. It also holds soft plastic boxes but less precisely.

When storing dice they are stored separately from cards. Ultra Pro, Ultimate Guard

Ultra Pro makes something called One-Touch magnetic card holders that are supposed to be uv-resistant, so those might be a better choice than a regular top loader. My secret rare charizards are in those on my shelf, and they are double-sleeved in clear plastic self-sealing oversleeves made specifically for the one-touch holders. My room is also pretty dark usually, so that's extra protection...So I'd recommend trying the uv-resistant One-Touches but avoid putting any particularly rare or valuable cards in them if it's still in direct sunlight. The uv protection may not last over time.

Regular sleeves don't fit inside these, though. I found that perfect fit sleeves only barely fit and it is a snug fit, hence the double-sleeving on the outside of my one-touches.

I do most of my buying and selling on CardSphere so take this with a grain of salt.

I always use at least a penny sleeve and a top loader ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G1GRLSA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ). Make sure the penny sleeve is loaded into the top loader upside-down. This will help protect the card against moisture. I'll also add either a piece of tape or a post-it note folded over the top of the top loader so the card can't slide out. Then I put that in a plain white envelope (PWE is the abbreviation you'll see in forums). I'll also tape the top loader to the PWE so it doesn't move around as much and won't immediately fall out if the PWE tears.

The top loader will really only fit three cards before it's too tight. In that case I'll put all the cards in a penny sleeve, tape the penny sleeve to the top loader, and put that into a team bag ( https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Pro-Standard-Packs-Value/dp/B00JNZ4LB2/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=team+bag+ultra+pro&qid=1557312150&s=gateway&sr=8-2 ). Forever stamps will ship up to 1 oz. Non-machineable stamps will ship up to 3.5 oz (I think) and will protect the cards from getting damage by sorting machines at the post office but cost more.

I've added tracking at the post office but it costs way more than adding tracking through PayPal. Cutting: Heavy box cutter, metal ruler, cutting surface.

Then: Load all your playing cards backwards into your card sleeves (back pattern of the card showing through the front). Then all you need to do is cut out your paper cards and slide them into the sleeve; easy peasy.

The thing that always bugged me was the numbers and suits showing through the back of the card sleeve, so I would always need to buy black or dark sleeves. You don’t want to turn it around though, because it’s way worse to see those suits showing through your custom card; why you want a nice and simple repeating pattern as to not be destracting. The nice thing about the new smoke sleeves is that you load your playing cards into those then put them into your color sleeve and bam, no more suits showing through the back of your sleeves even with lighter colors.

One recommendation for the smoke sleeves is that you load them upside-down into the color sleeve; that way you can avoid sillyness later when you want to pull out your paper cards.

Earlier this year I saved up and bough 1000 cards, color sleeves, and smoke sleeves, a card box, and spent a day loading them all up and storing them. Really nice to be able to have a bunch of them avalible at anytime. One party, my friends and I just made a silly card game out of the blue and it was great to be able to pull that box out and have a stable way to shuffle and hold the cards (at the time, folded post-its notes).

You might have different needs than me. I have like 30 EDH decks. I wanted cheap deck boxes that would should the commander. I wanted them to be replaceable if I wanted and sturdy enough I wouldn't often want to.

This is not for people who want deck boxes as lovingly crafted as their decks or want completely indestructible boxes that are hermetically sealed. This will repel some water, like rain or a quickly cleaned spilled drink, but not protect again submersion.

If you buy the stuff for one box, you might pay $2 for the box at an LGS and another dollar for the toploader. it might be worth it to buy a small pack of toploaders because they are randomly useful and I have never regretted having spares.

Add any clear packaging tape and have cheap deck boxes that show off the commander. I used Duck brand max strength ultra clear HD. No clue what my tape is doing with the extra HD pixels, but it is strong and I got it walmart for less than $5 and use it for anything that needs clear tape.

Looking at it - it should work fine, seems like they'll fit. I'm not too sure on the differences between the two personally, it does seem to be a slightly sturdier sleeve though - so should be fine. I'd say it largely depends on what reasoning you have to sleeve them. If it's for play, I'd get the hard sleeves as opposed to the ones I linked, and if it's for collection I'd go for the linked sleeves.

Personally I put everything into the perfect sleeves linked, then into the official pokemon deck sleeves (the types in the trainer boxes) - though any standard size should work - and then into a binder. This is for collecting purposes - as both the sleeve types I'm using are glossy and clear on the front, whereas both the Perfect Hard Sleeve and the Ultra Pro Sleeves are matte fronts, meaning they dull the shine and clarity of the cards a noticeable amount - but in exchange for being much sturdier.

For pure collection you don't need hard sleeves as their main use is to protect from shuffling and, say, banging around in a deck box. You should binder or topload any cards that are for pure collection purposes, and of course keep them temperate.

Also keep in mind pricing - the packs are each roughly a similar price, but you'll get half of the sleeves per pack if you go Hard Sleeves.

TL;DR If you're planning on going for collectable storage get the cheaper Perfect Fit Normal Sleeves, and some form of glossy standard card sleeve.

If for play, get the Perfect Fit Hard Sleeves (Look around for pricing maybe) and Ultra Pro Deck Sleeves to get the best level of protection for shuffling and jostling.

For my high value cards, I double sleeve them. First I load them top first into perfect fit sleeves, then load them bottom first into a larger sleeve like the ETB sleeves. I like the extra shine from the silver on the ETB sleeves and they're nice and big. Then, they go in a top loader.

For any mid-range cards I at least put them in a single sleeve.

At a minimum, you should be putting cards you care about into sleeves and then a top loader. Putting the open end of the sleeve down into the top loader would definitely be better to protect against dust or accidental water exposure.

I find that they work best with KMC Minis (62x89mm), as the perfect fits are 60x87mm. I also use the perfect fits with Konami sleeves which are slightly bigger and they seem to fit nicely. If Bushiroads/Enskys are any bigger than Konamis it'll definitely fit less snug.

Then, Ultimate Guard Sidewinder 80+. Five of these fit perfectly into the Ultimate Guard Superhive 550+.

Chessex dice are great for the dice tray. Now, the dice tray in the Superhive is a little awkward, and dice fall out easily or it jams sometimes while trying to pull it out or put it back. So I use a spice bag to hold the dice (also helps make sure they don't just fall everywhere when pulling the tray out, etc.)

And, of course, my two favorite playmats fit in the Superhive as well.

Just preference on what you like. I like being able to see both sides of the card so I use regular Ultra Pro penny sleeves on my cards. I've been slowly finding my old collection of Pokemon and a lot of the top loaders have yellowed some but the cards inside the sleeves are fine. Hey bud, I have an innistrad plane cube for drafting thats pretty sweet. I can go over what I did if it helps at all.

I started with only Innistrad, great Draft environment to use as a base. Then I replaced all of the vanilla creatures or unplayables with another card from DKA, AVR, or SOI that fit the same role but had a relevent ability or stats. (Ex. a 2/2 zombie for 1b that had no abilities was replaced by a 2 mana zombie in the same rarity with more relevent abilities)

Right now the cube is about:

10% AVR
20% SOI

Right now my rares can be from any set and are pretty balanced, nothings unbeatable.

I also keep the flip cards in clear hypermattes while drafting and playing, but I have a checklist for each in a black sleave for proxying in the deck.

Everybody can use those regardless of what cards they use so they're pretty safe gifts that will still get used.

If you ask him what his favorite cards or artists are, you might be able to get him a playmat, an art print or even a signed card from his favorite artist. eBay is a pretty good place to find signed cards.

The formats are always {set} onwards. Any set released after the given set, including the given set, is legal in that format. The current standard format, for example, is Primal Clash onwards.

Something worth noting is, as Bulbapedia says, a set is only legal after 3 fridays of release in the US. This doesn't mean you can't play the cards you get, it just means you can't use them in official events (though I'd make sure that whoever you're against is okay with you using the new cards first).

The format usually changes late August/early September, and while Expanded is still Black & White onwards, Standard is always a much smaller card pool, to allow variety and newer cards. Sets usually stick around for 2 years (ish).

Either way, have fun with collecting. There's no better feeling than pulling an amazing card. I highly recommend double sleeve-ing your most valuable/favourite cards (a perfect fit upside-down, then a regular sleeve over the top), as this will protect them from liquids pretty well.

From the many binders I've used when I played Yugioh, Magic, Weiss, etc. I think Monster binders are the best for what they are worth. I like them because they are durable and the way you insert cards from the side makes it easier for cards to not fall out. It's a nice binder to invest for trades.

If you want to collect SPs or holos and want even something more nice to look at, I highly recommend the FOUR binders. They have 4 pockets per page and it is same to Monster in how you insert the cards in the page. The binder looks like a scrapbook but it is still a nice size to fit to a backpack or wherever you go. I think this is probably what you are looking for.

I've never tried that, but it does not look like that box would fit sleeved decks.. and if you are looking for storage for decks that you simply don't play then I would look at getting team-bags. They can fit an unsleeved KF deck pretty well and you get 100 bags for like 5 bucks.. and they are resealable, which was great because I brought my box of deck rejects to my local game store to let some of the magic players play with them and was able to reuse the team-bag.

What's the best way to make sure my record collection lasts a long time? Is it fine to just store them on a shelf as is in a cool area? Or is it advised to store each in their own polypropylene sleeves like these here? New to collecting so I want to make sure I'm doing everything right.
Also cleaning. Am I good with just one of those brushes like this? Or do I need some spray too?

Get the Japanese perfect fits, not the ultrapro. Dragon shield are fine. I use them too, also kmc matte sleeves are great. Just double sleeve your decks, prevents the slipping you're experiencing and protects them better. Also makes it safer and easier to move cards from deck to binder to another deck.

KMC Perfect Fit are sleeves that are designed to fit perfectly on normal sized cards, and thus work for Pokemon cards. They will thicken them up a little bit. I find it's best stored in damp, warm places, or if possible near open flame. Under a furnace, or near but not in, a fireplace.

Yeah you're fine dude. Vertical is best. If you wanna preserve the jacket, get outer sleeves like these and keep the record in the sleeve alongside the jacket, in the clear outer sleeve. Then you won't end up with ringwear on the jacket after a couple years.

This is likely the best price you are going to get on Perfect fits. Its about what you are going to pay for 4 packs of perfect fits at a store.

As for sleeves, i would be using dragonshield matte sleeves or kmc hypermatte sleeves.

The best price on dragonshield sleeves is going to be at starcity games open events at about 8$ per box of 100. But you can get them for 10-11 at local game stores in the likely situation that you aren't particularly close to an open.

I highly recommend trading on /r/pkmntcgtrades, just read up on the guidelines before you do.

Purchase some top loaders and penny sleeves. Place cards into penny sleeve into top loader, and use a bit of scotch tape to make sure they don't slide out.

You can either mail with (bubble mailer) or without tracking (plain white envelope). I always use some extra paper to make sure the envelope doesn't collapse on itself if I ship without tracking. If the cards are expensive, always use tracking and a bubble mailer.

For payment, I use paypal almost exclusively.

They are not great quality sleeves, but I like them because they're clear which is nice to differentiate card types for certain games and allows you to actually see the art. I also use a ton of these sleeves so this is a lot more cost efficient.

Without sleeving? Not much you can do there really except don't allow drinks on a table. 2000 cards using decent penny sleeves will not cost that much. I bought a box of 1000 sleeves for 10 bucks so 20 bucks can sleeve that whole game for you.

Two of these will sleeve 2000 cards. 3 will probably cover your needs. Now... actually spending the time to sleeve them? Yeah, it will suck and take time but 30 dollars and a few hours sleeving to protect your investment I think is well worth it.

I will say... these sleeves are not the best quality and don't feel good like dime sleeves do... but you get what you pay for. It would cost you $200 to sleeve using Dragon Shield or the like. Myself? Where I am at with sleeving games I buy Dragon Shield for everything. To me, it's worth it. Sure... I spent more on sleeves than the cards cost for Star Realms by my set is slick, easy to shuffle and play and looks great. I have also sleeved all of EPIC and have sleeves for all of my Mage Wars books (10+ of 60+ cards each). So I buy a ton of sleeves.

I wonder which sleeves you're using? I mean, you probably are truly out of space given the extra big boxes you have there, but i use these for all my card games no double sleeving, just a simple bit of protection and of course makes the cards easier to shuffle. If you're using thicker sleeves, resleeving them to these KMCs would probably save you a significant portion of space in there.

I completely agree, Upperdeck should release a collectors box. I heard they were going to, it was even confirmed in a youtube video where a developer mentions they were working on that, but... where is it?

4. Yeah that's normal. I don't know why, but new records are ultra static-y and attract paper more than older records. Brush them off, and if that doesn't work then resort to deeper cleaning.

Those cardinal binders look nice, but are awfully expensive on Amazon for me.

Moving on, to answer some of your questions (and to ask some of my own), what sleeves do you recommend? I found these, would they suffice for ultra pro 9 pocket pages? Or do I want something a little thicker? I chose those because they are on the cheaper side, from what I've read review wise, they are also thin, however.

As for how many cards I have right now, none, I'm going to be buying a lot of singles via eBay until I complete my original binder(s) of holos. So I'm completely rebuilding my collection from scratch.

Last question, what is the difference between a trade binder and a 3-ring binder, or is a trade binder just what you call a 3-ring binder where you put your rarest cards that are up for trade?

If Cecchini or Lopez turn into anything, those '87 Style Inserts are fairly popular (the Judge and Benintendi versions go for $10-20 right now), but that's more a waiting game.

You might be able to get a ton for that Machado autograph, though. Great pull.

Edit: If you haven't already, invest in a couple penny sleeves and plastic top loaders to keep them safe, especially the Machado.

I like them because they fit standard cards perfectly. A lot of sleeves have some space between the card and the sleeve edge... these have virtually no space... very snug fit.

And be sure to get your hands on sleeves. There are a lot of different ones. I'll tell you the ones I use once I'm home :)

I combine them with the regular sleeves. I use them upside down so that the opening is at the bottom at the card and then put them into a regular sleeve. So it's 100% protected from dust

Looking nice, good luck with your playtesting! Try using card sleeves like these if you're using a standard playing card size. They helped us when we had our game in an early state. Sleeves make the cards a bit more durable and easier to manage.

For that number of cards, I'd actually use something like this, with cards in penny sleeves (3-4 cards can fit in a single penny sleeves, to save on cost). You may consider folding and taping the opening of the penny sleeve so cards so slip out, but I think this would be the most cost effective way to do things. Plus, you could print shipping labels to put directly on the card storage box, while also taping it closed.

While this won't protect you from heavy weather, I don't think I'd mind receiving a large bulk of cards like this.

The other option, that I just remembered CardKingdom uses, are hinged hard plastic card cases similar to these. This plus a bubble mailer is what I've gotten from them on larger orders. And I think if the majority of my cards were $1-$2 rares, but I had a lot of them, I'd like them in this.

Yo, I've pretty much went through a similar situation. I personally got the Ultra-Pro Pro-Tower, but there's probably better ones as I hadn't explored my options that much when I got it, along with the fact that I was new to everything. A few weeks later though, I wound up getting a lot more into collecting cards than I'd anticipated, which led me to getting binders. So ya, if you're sure you aren't going to get more than 130 cards or so, you might have to get another deck box for the few extra cards. Personally, I'd recommend getting something cheap since it would only contain about ~30 cards.

Also, to expand on what u/chimaeraUndying said, this would be the inner sleeve, and this would be the outer sleeve (Note the dimensions, and the fact that a yugioh card is 59mm by 86mm).

The best thing to do would be to measure the cards yourself and find the closest sleeves that they would fit in. Card sleeves come in all sorts of sizes to accommodate a wide variety of board games and TCGs.

A quick google search suggested that the original 2004 Rouze cards were printed the same size as Bandai's Carddass product: 86 x 59mm. That means that any inner sleeve that fits Yu-Gi-Oh cards should also fit around Rouze cards. Here is an Amazon link that I found.

Again, your best bet would be to actually measure one of your cards and verify everything I just said.

It’s better to get perfect fit cards meant for double sleeving which would fit inside of traditional sleeves. The advantage is that if any liquid spills the double sleeved cards won’t be affected at all. It has saved my ass so I double sleeve important cards and the deck I play with.

While you may not be pricing the cards, using the pricing guide on tcgplayer.com is a good place to start organizing specific sets. It can also give you a general market value for all conditions as you are organizing. If you see the market value on a specific card is much higher than others in the set, you should consider protecting that one with penny and hard sleeves(or depending on the card, perhaps more than that). If you are going to store your cards in binders, i recommend these sleeves for inside sleeves and these sleeves for the outside soft sleeve prior to putting in a binder like this or like this.

I have never had a dragon shield matte break or even bend on me. Occasionally I'll get light scratching on the clear side, but that's about the worst that happens.

Finally, make sure you have one of those silica gel packets (ya know, the little white packets that say "do not eat") in your box. They remove moisture from the atmosphere and help keep foils from bending. Make sure to change that out every 3-4 months, depending on what climate you live in.

I personally prefer to slip the card in upside down so the top of the card is touching the bottom of the sleeve.

Over about 100-150 games with tons of shuffling, maybe 10 have split. That probably pains people who are sleeve connoisseurs, but I always have spares handy and they work for me.

I use a KMC Perfect Fit to protect the inside as well as a Dragon Shield clear sleeve for the outer sleeve. It is a bit pricey to use this method but it offers the best protection with a water resistant seal that will not require the mane character to be pulled out every time it flips.

I use penny sleeves. I've played about a dozen games since Christmas, and the sleeves are holding up fine. And if they break, they're less than a penny.

Something to consider with a card like Marvel: Legendary is that not all cards are being used all the time. You're only using one mastermind, and those cards are barely shuffled. You're only using 5 heroes out of dozens (with expansions). As a result, your sleeves will hold up a lot longer than, say, playing Magic where the same cards will be shuffled again and again and again.

I would recommend using KMC Perfect Fit sleeves. They are great for double sleeving, and for storing cards in a binder. Also, make sure not to use a 3 ring binder with the loose ultra pro plastic pages, the rings can damage your cards over time. Use a side loading binder like This.

Not sure if this would be big enough but 2 of these bags with 26 cards in each might work out. Be sure to add toploaders to prevent the cards from being bent in the postal system though.

If it doesn't fit then use something like a 6x11.5 inch envelope instead, those should fit comfortably.

You need two different kinds of sleeves. One is commonly called the "perfect fit" sleeve. That goes upside-down over your card. Then you insert your card top-side up into the normal sleeve.

I really like them since they fit perfectly and snugly around the cards. The ultra pro standards are a little to big for my liking.

Holy hell... that picture on the package... as a side note, my friend and I have both bought these for our box sets and we love them. I sort of feel like you can't play this game without card sleeves, and you can't use the sleeves without a box insert. It's a little expensive, but considering how expensive the base set and ADs are, it's well worth the investment.

If you are worried about this, they have resealable bags that you can put over them. Here's an Amazon link below. When you do this, it makes it pretty tight. I've probably used a couple hundred of these and the only issue I've had, i just found tonight with my 2015 Kris Bryant RC. The card literally came right through the side on the one-touch. The magnet was still intact. The only thing I could figure out is that it looked like one of the tabs on the opposite end of the magnet had a flaw in it. Otherwise, they have been great!

Ultra pro are some of the better value sleeves I think. The ones you got don't sound like they are the standard ultra pro sleeves I've seen though.

If you are worried about space or you want to overprotect your cards, like if you play daily, I would suggest putting on the KMC Perfect Fit sleeves and then putting your Dragon Shields on. I think I know exactly what you should get him. There is one particular Duel Deck-type product called a Clash Pack.

It comes with two decks (one blue/green, one green/red) that are designed to be played against each other.

Then when the player is ready for more advanced play, the pack includes instructions to combine cards from the two decks into a single, Blue/Green deck that is good enough to play somewhat competitively. He'd be able to bring this deck to his local card shop (if you have one nearby) and have a good time without being completely outclassed by more experienced players' decks.

If you're looking to spend more money than that, you could also get him a couple packs of protective card sleeves so his brand new deck stays in good condition, Walmart should have a variety of sleeves for sale with different designs on the back, but be careful: they sell sleeves in both 50 and 100-packs, and he'll need 60 sleeves for a deck.

Dragon Shields and KMC are regarded pretty highly over in the /r/MagicTCG community. I own some KMC Hyper-Mattes and the quality is great.

I just use old binder I used when I was kid or your can just go to any office supply store and get three ring binders for a few dollars.

Amazon have them but sadly the prices aren't great. I've came across the same problem as you're having too. For now I've ordered a 3-ring binder along with pocket pages and also some sleeves. The sleeves and pocket pages arrived a couple of days ago and the sleeves fit perfectly into the pocket pages. I'm still waiting on the binder but I'm looking forward to it. Least this'll keep my cards safe until I get my hands on albums.

I just resleeved the deck for this tournament!

The first layer is perfect fits, for which I chose KMC Perfect Hards. The next layer is normal sleeves. I used Pokemon 20th Anniversary sleeves. The third layer is character guards. I used KMC Character Guards (you can get better deals than this). The fourth layer is effectively impossible to purchase now, but they're KMC Strong Hards. I've heard that Broccoli also makes sleeves this size, but I have no first-hand experience with that.

I use the classic KMC perfect size inner sleeves. They hold the card very snug, so they fit in most normal sleeves.

They're generally sold for about $5.99 for 100 sleeves, but I've gotten deals on Amazon for buying bulk.

Actually, I use the perfect size sleeves for a lot of single-sleeving, since they're so tight to the card and are completely translucent on both sides. All of my trade foils are inside them to prevent scratching, and to act as an inner sleeve in the binder page pockets.

I love sleeving cards for my games! Love the feel and I actually double sleeve (these then these for regular sized cards) and generally do it while it while watching TV some night, so it's not like I have to give up time to sleeve.

I always used these for my binder as double sleeves and I love them, but I find it kinda hard to shuffle with them sometimes and they kind of slide off PC white easily as well.

KMCs are ones that Magic players use and should work well as inner sleeves for double sleeving. My personal preference is to use KMC Hyper Mattes and over KMC perfect sleeves for inners.

You can always just buy penny sleeves. Here is 500 sleeves for 6.85 they are fairly low quality which should be apparent by the price, but they will help preserve them a little bit. They also are a lot easier to work with than laminating as well.

You’ve got some good cards there, especially for just starting out. I recommend putting the better cards such as the McDavid, Tkachuk, Larkin, etc rookie cards into a penny sleeve and top loader or a one touch case.

I use this, it holds playsets of your valuable cards, doesn't have rings to fuck your cards up and has a stiff front unlike the ultra pro binders which can bend and damage your cards.

Now to be clear, binders, while convenient for accessing your cards are not ideal for keeping them in perfect condition. Sleeved and in a box such as an elite trainer box or a BCW box is the ideal way to prevent any damage to your cards.

As for commons and uncommons storing them unsleeved in a BCW 4 or 5 row is more than sufficient since you will accumulate a large amount of them over time.

Someone else in the thread mentioned the Ultimate Guard ZipFolio which is honestly probably the best binder out there, im just not interested in moving all of my cards from the binders they are currently in.

Hello. I'm not an active player of the card game and never was (except some older videogame titles), but I recently stumbled upon the Legendary Decks II box and bought it because of nostalgia.

After researching for some time which are the best protective sleeves, I bought the Standard Clear ones from Dragon Shield. Well, needless to say: it was the wrong size. After further research, it seems that the Dragon Shield Minis would be the right choice.

My question: How do the Minis compare from the feel/look to the Standard ones? I like the Standard ones a lot. And I know what many want to say: "Go with KMC or go homu." Sadly, I live in a part of Europe where KMC Hyper Mat Minis cost 70% more, so they're not an option.

For all my double sleeved permanent decks I use Dragon Shield Mattes with KMC perfect sizes. Dragon shields are relatively cheap and good quality and KMCs are on amazon for ~$4/100

For my draft sleeves I use ultimate guard katanas. They are lovely sleeves with amazing shuffling feel but they are harder to get/more expensive. Since my draft sleeves are the one pair of sleeves I use more than any other I shell out a bit more for them.

Process of any record I receive. Open it, air spray big dust particles off, use cleaner with a simple microfiber cloth (i damp the cloth) after that I put back all the internals into the record sleeve and then put the actual record in some good inner sleeves and put it behind the record sleeve and put all of that in some simple outer sleeves. I do this to every record and I do it because I value the money I put into my collection and would like to prevent wear and tear (I have a 13 month old daughter on the lose) especially for trading purposes in the future.

Should i switch to the KMC Perfect fits when they arrive and avoid the Ultra Pro sleeves then?

I sleeve all of the tokens my deck uses to protect the surface (for cosmetic and consistency reasons, not because I care about a <$0.01 "card"). I use KMC "perfect fits" because they're cheap in bulk, fit snug to the card, and make the surface more slippery for moving the cards around.

I would caution against white sleeves. They tend to get dirty more easily, and they don't always do a good job of fully blocking out the back of the card.

My personal recommendation for sleeves would be Dragon Shield Matte sleeves in a dark color. Ultra Pro. Like $1.50 per 100 and fit ability cards great. Not too sticky either, but still make mashing cards together for shuffling easy. They are a tad bit taller than the cards if that will bother you at all, but there's not really any downside other than aesthetics.

They're slightly loose on the cards which I like... makes them easier to get in and out if needed. You can get tighter ones that fit like a glove, but I like the slightly looser ones. Just need to be consistent in loading them so your marks line up on the wound circles.

They're available in colors... I can get two complete factions in a binder. So I've got a Green one that houses Rezzers/Neverborn, and a Red one with Guild/Ten Thunders. 9 pockets per page... I tend to group everything by role... so a "page" for masters, a page for totems, then Henchmen, enforcers, minions, etc. I put "page" in quotes because it's really two pages as there's plenty of room to space everything out. For upgrades, I keep them grouped by crew and there's enough room for them to stay seperate and not get mixed together. Dupes I just stack in the same pocket... so things like Rotten Belles only take one slot.

Nice thing about the binders is the pockets are "side loading" so stuff isn't sliding out of the binder. I tried 3 ring binders with the pocket pages in them at the start and the top loading really sucked. Plus these take up less space in my bag... I generally carry two factions with me when I'm playing, but in my bag I keep all my cards (three notebooks) to keep things consistent, so saving space is helpful.

They are standard size for MTG and Pokemon. I play with KMC perfect fit inner sleeves and dragon shield outers. My deck is all reverse holo, holo, or full art. No warps at all.

I mean it’s going to be snug. Most of the people I know who double sleeve use dragon shield tbh. You could try a different inner sleeve. Kmc is supposed to have some really nice ones.

I forgot...another nice thing about the cheap sleeves: the player cards are actually designed to be written on (WHAAAT?) when you "level up" skills etc (tick boxes to check off). it's probably better than nothing, just don't bang the tin around and mess up the edges. obviously you don't want to do it forever, in case moisture makes it's way in, or if it can rust. Still the best possible thing would be to put them in card sleeves and then in a rigid top loader card holder if you want to keep them pristine.

Any suggestions on card cases to hold the whole collection? The dragon shield boxes seem to hold 100 or 400 cards, but reviews aren't clear if I can stuff all 300 cards in there double sleeved, since it makes them a bit thicker. Any suggestions on a box that will hold the entire season's set of cards?

Or am I overthinking it and should just get like a generic white cardboard box?

KMC Perfect Fit. Like the name, they're just the right size, and they're really high quality, too.

I actually double-sleeved them (put the card in one upside down and in the other right side up) with the matching KMC Hyper Mats (you might need to be careful to get the ones with the clear backs). It ends up being a little pricey but nothing compared to the cost of filling out the card set!

Perfect fit + Clear Dragon Shields

If the game actually has some depth then it takes many MANY plays. To put it in perspective Manhattan Project took roughly 30+ plays before it got stale, and this is after playing the game practically every other day with 2 players and the occasional 4-5 player game. But playing something like Sheriff of Nottingham got stale after the 3rd game once we realized we were playing the game wrong and according to the rules you basically HAVE to lie half the time.

Best bet for storing a large lot of cards is cardboard boxes such as those you're seeing online. Anything will do, really. If you're concerned about the long term health of the cards you'll need to keep them in a watertight container in a temperature controlled room.

Do you find that the ultra pro sleeves just barely cover the top of your cards? I find that there's barely any room between the top of the sleeve and the top of the card, and I'm always worried that will lead to more wear and tear on the top end of the card. But then again, I got the ultra pro clear deck protector sleeves, so the size may be different.

Sorry I'm a little confused, are you offering the KMC Hyper Matte Black or the KMC Perfect Fit, I'd trade for either but I'm more interested in the Hyper Mattes.

Penny sleeves have been my LotR LCG mainstay for a while now, but my head has been turned by the slightly more expensive 'inner' sleeve packs. Made for obsessive M:tG players to doublesleeve their cards, these are like penny sleeves that fit the cards precisely. No gaps, snug fit.

I may, slowly, use these to resleeve my character cards, as the flabby overhang on the penny sleeves just looks and feels terrible by comparison. These perfect fit ones have ruined the others for me! Get them at your own risk!

I've never had any problem with durability, and it's tough to do better than < penny per sleeve.

A lot of people recommend sleeves that are a bit bigger than the card and I dont know why. I tried quite a few and hated them. Then I found KMC perfect fit, they are still cheap but fit the cards almost exact, barely tell they are there.

I wish I had just printed them on normal stock and put them in top loaders, instead of having them print on card stock and then putting them in top loaders.

They are very nice and transparent, even though they may be slightly too tigh, and the card tend to curve a little. In a 9 page collector after a bit the card adapt to the size, but I am not so fond of using them for cards that I use for gaming.
