So, I started this rainy holiday Monday off wearing my Orient Bambino Gen 2 Ver 2 for the very 1st time just to break it in a bit. Although the sun is no where to be found, those gorgeous blue hands against that cream dial still manage to catch the eye when the light hits them just right.

At this price point ($150 US!!!) I doubt you will ever be able to find yourself a mechanical, hackable dress watch that looks and feels this good. if you are on a tight budget but are looking for that first "real" mechanical watch that really grabs people's attention, I HIGHLY recommend the Bambino Gen 2. There are many different styles and dial color combinations and I think pretty much anyone of them is a home run. I went with the classic Cream Dial w/ Blue Hands on those gorgeous Roman numerals. This is refered to as the Generation 2, Version 2. Don't get too confused by the Generation/version thing. Basically you'll want the Generation 2 since it's movement is hackable and hand windable where the Generation 1 was not. The Version determines the style of the face essentially. This is totally down to personal preference. Where corners were cut to get it to this price range: the strap and the crystal. Don't get me wrong, the domed crystal is gorgeous. It's the fact that it is mineral that I can see becoming an issue. Don't want to band this thing against a door frame or something. The strap it comes on feels really cheap and you'll want to swap that out for something a bit nicer as well. Unfortunately it's 21mm so finding one you really like maybe more difficult then you think.

Now if you have a bit more in your budget and you want something that really will blow your socks off in terms of price/value ratio, I know this has been said thousands of times but, just get the SARB. Don't question it, do it. The SARB033 with it's stunning black dial or the SARB035 with that exceedingly classy cream dial, you cant go wrong. Seriously, I still cannot believe these watches retail below $400 US. It honestly does not make sense. The finishing on the case is absolutely meticulous. Sapphire crystal, a gorgeous signed crown. To me the only corner cut here is again the bracelet (something I think almost all of us will change almost immediately anyways). If this watch was priced at $1,500US MSRP I would totally believe it. My biggest issue with this watch is that I find my self more distracted by it than I am my phone, and in 2018 I think that's saying something.

So just a little advice for someone just getting into watches. I made the jump in with both of these stunners and you really can't go wrong with either of them.

Cheers!

EDIT: I'll include links to where I purchased both Watches as well as the corresponding straps.

Seiko SARB033: http://www.shoppinginjapan.net/sarb033
Fantastic website. They keep you up to date every step of the way. Shipping was directly from Japan and the Watch arrived 8 days after ordering it. Customer service absolutely outstanding.

Tan Horween 20mm Leather Strap: https://www.longislandwatch.com/Horween_INS_HOR_ESX03_watch_strap_p/ins-hor-esx03.htm
LongIslandWatch doesn't need much of an introduction here I don't think. Fantastic seller. After sales on fantastic watches and accessories. Marc runs a great business over there. This band itself feels extremely luxurious. The feel, the smell, it's very high end and probably the most comfortable strap for a watch I have ever worn.

Orient Bambino: https://www.longislandwatch.com/Orient_AC00009N_Dress_Watch_p/ac00009n.htm
Once again, Marc at Long Island Watch is fantastic. Probably the #1 go to website for most watch fans.

Hadley-Roma Tan Alligator Pattern Strap 21mm: https://www.amazon.ca/Hadley-MS834-Alligator-Grain-Leather/dp/B003PNK4VY
This one I just ended up picking up off of Amazon. Hadley-Roma is quite highly regarded. My specific band has some QC issues at the top near the lugs, and the seller is in talks with me to get the issue resolved. Don't let that put you off purchasing it. Great strap overall.

u/Nixtrix · 2 pointsr/Watches

Nice watch! The coloring on the face does leave it very limited on bands it would match, not to mention the lug width is 25mm. Let's see what I can find for you:

  • First up is Hadley Roma, i have one of their bands and it was actually slightly too big for my 22mm lugs so i think a 24mm would fit your watch perfectly! Three options for you (1, 2, & 3) with # being my favorite and 2 being my second favorite of those options. I think an untextured band would probably compliment the watch's face the best and the threading in 3 offers the a nice accent to help bring out the colors.
  • Second is Crown & Buckle's selection of watch bands. Again, three options (1, 2, & 3) with 2 being my favorite and 1 being second. 3 offers some subtle texturing that could be a good pairing with that watch. My main worry here is the buckles of these bands are blasted steel so they have a matte finish which may not be a good match for the shiny metal of the case.
  • Third is an amalgam of bands that came recommended from watchuseek. Final three options for you (1, 2, & 3) with 3 being the better of this lot if you'd like a NATO strap. 2 is nice because the color is not far off from what the original band's color is and the black accents on the side make it a nice compliment to the watch. 1 would have some nice texturing with color changes and i think it would be a nice addition to the watch.

I tried to stick to brown bands as the watch has brown on the face and we want to accent that color. Since you didn't give a price range i tried to stay below $50 so let me know if there are any that strike your fancy but are above what you want to pay. Hopefully this helps and wasn't too overwhelming and i'll be happy to discuss the choices and make more suggestion if you'd like! :)
u/R7-D1 · 5 pointsr/malefashionadvice

I don't think it's effeminate. Yes, it's smaller than the big watches most young men wear, but most young men dress like shit.

Your leathers should match. They don't have to be exact, dark brown and tan would be OK and the textures can be different. Fortunately, changing watch straps is easy and inexpensive. Here's the first thing that popped up in a search. There are spring bars where the strap attaches. You can use a spring bar tool like the one in the link, but you can probably get by with a paperclip. Make sure the strap is the right size and you will be good to go. There are other strap options as well, Nato straps are pretty popular and more casual.

u/acboenisch · 2 pointsr/Watches

The actual strap that comes on the Rodina is kinda junky but the design is pretty basic brown leather so there are lots of superior options available. I highly recommend Hadley-Roma for affordable high-quality straps. I've bought a few things from them and every one has been great and I think many other people will also testify to that.

I don't have links to AUS specific Amazon pages but you might consider something like this, this, or this. I personally have the last one along with one of their deployant clasps (18mm clasp for the 20mm straps!) and think it looks great.

u/vanillamode · 2 pointsr/Watches

I have the Zuludiver cordura from watchgecko, which looks great on my Hydroconquest. The top of the strap is cordura, while the underside of the strap is a waterproof synthetic lorica

The Barton quick-release canvas straps are a nice super casual option if you want to try straight up canvas. Very comfortable, but not sure how quickly they dry, since I haven't actually tried dunking mine in water yet.

Kevlar-style straps might be an option too, though I personally don't have any experience with them. Hadley Roma and Maratac both have kevlar style straps that I had been considering before I ultimately went with the Watchgecko cordura.

There are water resistant leather straps available too if water resistance is the only thing keeping leather from being an option. Di-modell makes a few that are 100m water resistant and are really comfortable. There's synthetic waterproof leather too like lorica, available from Hadley Roma and Eulit, though I've never tried them. I have some synthetic straps from Germany being held hostage by USPS until I can pick them up tomorrow though, so I can add my thoughts on those as well later if you'd like.

u/DOPE_ASFUCK_USERNAME · 1 pointr/Watches

This is a watch my dad gave me a while ago, not expensive or anything but I like how it looks. It had brown leather straps but they ripped off unfortunately so now I'm looking at replacement straps. I like NATO straps but not the duller colors like tan and olive. What kind of straps would look best on this particular watch? I was looking at these but I'm not sure what color would work best.

u/erisedwild · 5 pointsr/Watches

You’ll need a springbar tool to help you push and pull the springbars on and off in a snap. You can buy them easily on Amazon, although many cheap straps these days sold online come with complimentary springbars.

However, until you get one, you can give the string method a try, which I’ve used before successfully. Take some unwaxed floss or a piece of thin, hard string and loop it tightly around one end of a springbar, near the watch’s lugs. Then pull the string down, parallel to the springbar, towards the opposite lug—you’re trying to pull the springbar out of the hole. This video should help. Good luck!

Up for sale, a Steinhart OCEAN One Vintage Military

Paid €320 EUR, plus ~29 EUR shipping, plus the import duties/tarrifs. Exchange rate, at time of purchase, was $390.79 USD, on January 09, 2016.

I'm including a NATO strap with purchase. Steinhart should have included one with the watch, but for some stupid reason, they didn't. You can choose between:

  • Crown & Buckle brand Khaki Premium NATO, 22mm - $15.00 USD value
  • Crown & Buckle brand Steel Grey Premium NATO, 22mm, brushed hardware finish - $15.00 USD value
  • SharkNATO brand Black and Gray Striped Nylon (James Bond), 22mm, polished finish - $15.50 USD value

You can select ONE of the above straps :)

    Condition of the watch:

  • NO scuffs AT ALL, on any part of the watch. Was only worn for about an hour or so.
  • NO scratches on the sapphire glass
  • ~~The stainless bracelet has NEVER been worn. ~~
  • Comes with all paperwork, including a copy of the original invoice.
  • Comes with original box (the black padded one, and the larger white outside box)
  • Will be shipped in the original plastic bubble wrap that it came in
  • As mentioned, it comes with a NATO strap, as a "bonus"

The reason that I'm getting rid of this watch is that I actually purchased this before I saw another diver watch that I now want more than the OVM. There's nothing wrong with the OVM, at all, and I like it a lot, it's just that there's another watch that I now want more. I know that I could return this watch to Steinhart, however I'm certain that I can flip the watch quicker than they can do the return process. Notice that I'm losing a bit of money on this deal and I've already taken care of the duties and tarrifs.

I'm asking $390.00 USD via Paypal, plus actual shipping costs. Send me a PM with your address and I would like to keep this sale to the United States. This is my first /r/WatchExchange sale, however I have several confirmed sales over at /r/mechmarket, which you can see here on the January Confirmed Trade Thread.

Edit: would possibly consider trades, but completely depend on what it is.. Shoot me a PM or reply below with what you've got :)

    Edit: Sold 1/25/2016

This is spot on. I have V1-V4 and I put two of them on 20MM because I got so annoyed trying to find a decent strap.

I recently just picked up a Seiko Flightmaster which also has 21MM lugs. I've had great luck with Hadley Roma straps in the last few years so I opted to pick [this](Hadley Roma MS834 21mm Alligator Grain Leather Tan Watch Band Mens https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003PNK4VY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_6DxZzbP9JZ0GV) up for $25. It is breaking in great and seems to be the same quality as my others from them.

I believe Hirsch also makes 21MM straps but from what I remember they were more expensive than the watch itself. Lol.

Good luck with the search, I know it's tough!

u/Pers85 · 1 pointr/Watches

Thanks again, tonytumtum! That's really good to know. Have to admit, never heard of the polywatch before. Looks like a great thing to have! The problem is that I need like an everyday watch and since I have only Raymond Weil (which I don't want to wear every day cause it is quite an expensive piece), I need to get a watch which would survive a week of wearing. At the moment I am contemplating between Zeppelin Zep-70383 and Citizen CA0331-56L(hhtps://https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00CB9A8VY/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1B2AX2K7EG9IX&coliid=INKT1DDEZ1D2F) Which one would you advise guys? I know these are quite different but still a piece of advice would really help. Thank you!

u/huyexdee · 2 pointsr/Watches

I've had my first watch, the Seiko SNZH53, for a couple weeks now... I couldn't stand the bracelet that it came with. It was squeaky and the clasp wasn't perfectly flush with its slot, so it jangled around with a very cheap sound. It just didn't do justice to the amazing looks and quality of the timepiece itself, so I figured it was time for a change. I purchased a Bond-style NATO from BluShark, and I'm really liking the look of it now. It just feels more rugged and casual, and the most important thing about it is that I don't have the cheap sound that the bracelet had.

Since I'm 14, I have a huge amount of strap sticking out, and I intend to cut it and burn the fabric in the future. I especially like that with NATO straps, you can throw your arms around and not have to worry about a spring bar going AWOL. Other than that, there's not much to say about it. It just seems to me that the community thinks NATO straps are getting to be more of a circlejerk thing now, and I get it - there's an oversaturation of them. But, this is my first real strap other than my first bracelet, and I'm pretty happy with it.

Hello, I am planning on buying the Glycine Airman 42 "Double Twelve", but I love the white dial the most, but it only comes with a leather strap, and I would like to also have a steel oyster strap with it. In the link there is information about the watch and the strap, this one is the blue dial one which comes with the strap. Would any 22mm strap that is curved, such as this one, work?: https://www.amazon.com/Brushed-Oyster-Stainless-Bracelet-Seiko/dp/B00CHZ9B60/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=22mm+steel+oyster+bracelet&qid=1555186619&s=gateway&sr=8-2

Thank you and forgive my ignorance, I'm just a few months old watch enthusiast and am not really sure about how to change steel bracelets.

u/NoTimeForFools · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

I've been trying to find something that I looks good and feels comfortable on. I typically like something that doesn't feel flimsy or too thin. At the same time I'm trying to avoid something...gaudy.

Here's what I'm thinking so far (and I really would like some input please!)

First - as for the watch face I really like the Seiko 5 - I'm pretty sold on that. I'm still flip flopping between the blue and black face though. I'm thinking blue face with a brown leather strap.

The strap is where I need some help. I'm a big fan of the double buckle layout - but again...I don't want it too gaudy. I'm looking at two - one is a cuff band (which is the one I think may be a bit..too much. And the second is just any normal brown strap - Hirsch and Crown and Buckle are what I've been checking out.

This one is the cuff strap.

And I really like this band from Crown and Buckle.

Any thoughts?

u/jessejamess · 4 pointsr/Watches

/u/Letchy thanks! It certainly looks really awesome, and was only $23.
https://www.amazon.com/Eulit-Palma-Perlon-Watch-Strap/dp/B01JH1AJ4E/ref=cts_wa_1_vtp

I will say its quite stiff. I'm hoping with time it will break in and become more soft, but once it's on it looks great. I just got the Eulit perlon because the length is just right for my wrist. Don't have a ton of excess strap hanging out of the keeper.

u/ANTI-PUGSLY · 4 pointsr/malefashionadvice

Do you want a black leather one?

This is as clean and simple as it gets. I got this today and am wearing it as we speak, so I can personally attest it is a nice band. Very soft, thin, sleek.

Getting bands on and off can be a bit of a bitch, so I wanted to get a spring bar tool to make it easier. It's basically a little fork that helps get them out... You'll see when you get it, it's easy. But it turns out an entire kit of watch tools was only a couple bucks more than the itty bitty tool itself. So I got this, and now I can do most basic maintenance myself, which is great because some stores will rip you off on a simple band change or link removal.

Pics: 1 and 2

u/bake2385 · 5 pointsr/AndroidWear

Got it on Amazon for 28 bucks. I really like the looks of it. The leather seems to be good quality and thick, but is quite flexible. Just wanted to give the Gear Live some love.

u/Toribor · 1 pointr/frugalmalefashion

Buy this one. I put it on my Easy Reader and it is excellent. I've gone through three cheap leather straps and this one is great quality for the price.

u/Gomestradamus · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

I love the SNK789, I wear it every day. I have about 6 different straps for it, I usually wear a NATO strap like this or this, unless I am dressing up a little more formal with a shirt and tie and nice leather shoes. In that case, I will use either a brown leather strap or a black one to match my shoes and belt.

u/gdogg897 · 8 pointsr/Watches

Perlon is the most common 'woven' watch strap type. Eulit is one of the more reliable brands (can be found on ebay/amazon). There are different types of perlon as well - Kristall is a tighter/smaller weave, and Palma is a bigger/looser one (at least in Eulit branding). They can also be found in single- or double-piece construction. The nice thing about perlon is that there are no 'holes' like a leather watch strap - you can push the clasp pin through anywhere in the weave to get a perfect fit, and the 'hole' that gets created disappears when not in use.

Just know that perlon is a bit more thin and stiff than the pictured online may lead you to believe. If your current strap is a softer/thicker fabric, it may not be an exact match.

Barton Silicone Quick Release Bands

Super nice, comfortable, and cheap!

u/clin0048 · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

Excellent. Thanks for the updated picture, too, it looks great!. I've been using this Hadley-Roma band (http://amzn.com/B002EEP5Y6). I like it and all, it's actually lighter than the picture on Amazon makes it look. In fact I'll probably keep it around on one of the silver adapters I have sitting around. I just prefer the look of the Ritche/Nomad band.

u/theesk1 · 2 pointsr/Watches

in my opinion it looks better on thick leather.
This is the light leather one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LW7Q9KK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It took awhile to break in but I'm pleased with it.

That is actually white and dark blue, but I bet black would actually look better.

u/Th3d0nut · 3 pointsr/Watches

Orient Ray seems to have become my every day wear now. I like the look of the all black strap, but it's brand new so I need a few days to break it in. It's this one. Looked good online, looks good in person (just a little stiff.) It is almost too short (I have an 8" wrist) so I would avoid it if you have a bigger wrist than me.

u/schyewill32 · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

I would suggest finding any 24mm leather band you like and just putting 3rd party lugs on them. It's cheaper this way and more customizable.

Example:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002EEP5Y6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_z00xybNMA1A0Q
and
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00V9P7ZSA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_r10xybK2ZZ2AA

Total comes out to $30. I have this combo right now and it's great quality.

u/BullMoooose · 1 pointr/Watches

Looking to pick up a new band (or strap? I don't know the terminology) for my watch. It's a Junkers 6966-4 G38. That picture is fairly accurate, but the face is not the creamy yellowish in the picture, it's more of a silvery white. Anyway right now it has a black leather band on it, but with the temperatures rising that has become quite hot. I'm thinking about picking up a NATO strap for it, should be less hot. I'm not quite sure what color or color(s) to pick, are there rules for how to match the colors on a band to a watch? I was thinking about using one of these black and grey straps. I was also toying with the idea of getting a dark blue strap for it like one of these. Thanks!

u/johnwclark · 1 pointr/Watches

I would think either stainless, or some rubber / silicone strap.

Since you mentioned a chunky bezel, I tend to think of the Citizen Promaster Diver. It is a brushed finish and comes on a polyurethane strap, and is usually around $150.

If you just want a beater watch that you can replace if you damage it, it is hard to top the Timex Weekender for $30, but you might want a silicone strap for it, so clean up isn't an issue with the nylon. The Barton silicone straps are under $15 and easy to remove if you need to clean the lugs.

u/VSlipher · 56 pointsr/Watches

No problem. The case, movement, and clasp came from ofrei. This case is #11. They also have a good selection of hands there. The strap came from Amazon. I like the feel of it, it's soft, thin, and flexible. The dial and hands came from eBay, if you search for ETA 6497 hands and dials you will see many options, although most are either Panerai homages or basic pilot-style dials like this. In the end this build cost about $400, with most of that in the movement and case, which I feel are very good quality.

u/CodedChaos · 1 pointr/hwatch

I bought this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00024WC7S

Here's what it looks like

So far I like it, the spring pins it came with worked perfectly with the watch.

I've been looking around for a nice strap combo for the Gold AWS and I think i've found something I really enjoy.

u/kurazaybo · 2 pointsr/Watches

The dial reminds me of this Citizen. Victorinox makes some watches with similar cases and bezel, but dials are not similar. This is the best I could find.

u/CanadianAl · 3 pointsr/Watches

This is a Fullmosa strap, I can recommend it, feels comfortable and flexible, wide variety too.

I've got nearly 8" wrists, and while I can happily go down to 38mm or so, much smaller than that starts to look a bit ridiculous. However, I have a few watches that I really like in the 32-36mm range, so I usually wear a cuff strap with them. It helps to bump up the size quite a bit.

Amazon has some good offerings, like a light brown regular buckle strap or a light brown NATO strap

I ordered a black BARTON silicon band from Amazon and it's nice. It has the quick release and looks good with the watch. https://www.amazon.com/BARTON-Quick-Release-Choice-Colors/dp/B01ASOGBYG/ref=cm_sw_em_r_c_awdo_d_pxzzxb79TPW9R_lm

Wild. I ordered this one. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001F0PTX2?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 I'm hoping the extra padding isn't too much. I really didn't anticipate how small it is (39mm) compared to my other watches.

Enjoy

Here's a couple you might want to look into:

It's just a simple leather watch band - it has worn well! Definitely recommend.

I have the olive Seiko 5 with this watch band. It's my daily driver, and I'm in love with it.

Edit: picture of the combination

u/geekstrada · 1 pointr/knifeclub

Here's the front.

It's a Seiko SNK803 with a Hadley-Roma strap and deployment clasp. I really just wanted the automatic movement of the Seiko. I'm going to replace the face and hands as well after I find something that I like.

Here are the parts:

Thanks! It's this Hadley Roma strap, got it from Amazon.

From here:

The nylon is surprisingly decent and not too thick. The value proposition of the bundle is also fairly high, considering that the tool that they include is at least tolerable and that the straps themselves are "good". My only gripe is probably the buckle - the part that hooks into the strap when you're putting it on is fairly loose and I would sometimes have to recenter it to make sure it goes into the slot.

u/rohanio · 1 pointr/Watchexchange

I bought it from Amazon along with the watch, looks like it isn't available currently: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CIIHIWK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I bought the strap for $30 which in hindsight is hefty compared to what I know now. It's held up somewhat well - I haven't maintained it at all, it's been in water a few times, and I've pulled and tugged on the leather a decent amount. The quality of the buckle is really good for sure, but the leather is very discolored. There's no actual damage though and the loops for the strap are still intact, which I appreciate.

All in all not bad but maybe not worth the price compared to paying $5-10 less for a Hadley-Roma, or even paying $10 more for one of the less expensive Hirsch straps.

I don't have any specific recommendations for leather. All of my watches either have metal bracelets or NATO straps. Maybe this? I don't know much about the brand but it seems like it would work. Your watch takes 24mm bands according to the Overstock product page.

u/The-Strike · 1 pointr/moto360

I was able to fit this same band, but with lots of effort. I had to carefully shave down the ends, add the notch, and do a couple other things. But I got it to work! Keep trying!

This one, right?

u/geeks81 · 1 pointr/pebble

I recently had the same problem. I ordered a leather band from Amazon and am really happy with it.

I like the jp leatherworks panerai I use the one below, but I encourage you to explore. Don't limit yourself. I've had my band for 2 months no cracking no issues.

It's a NATO strap. They sell them cheap on Amazon. The gray and black one is a common one.

You can look at your local watch shop; they should carry watch straps of all sorts for sale.

Check out amazon too. What do you think about this strap for under $10

u/bLueStarCadet · 2 pointsr/Watches

That band is 2mm too narrow. You need a 22mm width. Here ya go. Amazon Prime.

I got the grey one and use it for my zenwatch 2. Its in related purchases for the 3 on Amazon, so I assume it fits. The grey is very sharp. Not sure about the extra battery, as I have the 2.

If you are looking to buy just the end-links, then no, I'm afraid that you're shit out of luck.

However, my brother (we're a wristwatch-lovin' family) bought this bracelet for his 007 and he is extremely pleased with its quality.

A little pricey but adds so much to the watch. The canvas band that it comes with is hideous IMO

u/sircarbonmojo · 2 pointsr/frugalmalefashion

to piggyback off of these two, there's also this which has a blue face and and a mesh band that you could swap out for black leather

u/you_are_breathing · 1 pointr/GearS3

I use the 22mm size from Barton Watch Bands on Amazon.

u/Famens · 1 pointr/GalaxyGear

You looked at Barton's straps? They're MEGA comfy. I have the S3 Classic, and the leather isn't stellar (for me), so I got a Barton 22mm strap, and so happy with it.

I hope it looks good on the lg watch r. I had the 360 but sold it because I was unhappy with it and went back to my gear live for now waiting for G watch R.

u/taint_a_chode · -2 pointsr/pebble

Aren't they pretty much standardized and you can get almost any you want?

u/sparklekitteh · 1 pointr/TicwatchOfficial

I use this silicone band (22mm), very comfortable. I wipe it off with a baby wipe or makeup wipe every night to keep it from getting gross and causing a rash, especially if I've worn my watch at the gym.

I'm writing this from a phone so pardon any spelling please.

I have owned 3 citizen watches over the years. Two of the same model ( don't know exact but it has a chronometer date. One of the simple ones). One is a great navihawk AT. One had a rubber band that I hated. Hence why I have 2 of the same. The other a leather which did wear out.

To give you an idea of the environment, it's an analytical chemistry lab. So lots of metal things to run into (gas canisters and fume hoods to name 2). Also acids and corrosive materials that will do terrible things to your skin, not to mention a watch face.

Bottom line. The first two still work, eco drive all that. But you can tell the wear. They cost in the range of 250 to 300.

I don't know what the navihawk AT is made of but damn. 2 years and I've run it into gas cylinders, metal fume hoods, nitrogen was on it at some point. The ONLY thing is a small scratch across the face. That was when I was etching something and it slipped. It was a diamond tipped etcher..... No wear on the body either. It came with a rubber band but I replaced it with one of those "James bond" bands. They sell it with a metal one as well. I would suggest the band I have. Cheap and easy to replace. If you work with your hands (like I do) it's going to get damaged.

It's pricy but I dare say it will last my lifetime.
