Looking for a solution to a unique problem
(also posted in /budgetaudiophile)
I'm not sure if this is the right sub for this, so let me know if it's not.
I need an affordable (under $500, preferably less) solution for teaching group classes in a noisy environment. Most people I have seen do this purchase a mic and use a single output speaker at the front of the class. Like musical buskers use.
What I would like to do is send that sound to individual speakers that sit on the guests tables. That way the sound doesn't have to be broadcast as loud and the back tables can hear just as well as the front tables. Like a drive in theater.
From my (limited) understanding, bluetooth won't work for this because of latency. I've seen silent discos use VHF, so that might be the right thing, but I'm not finding good speakers for VHF.
I'm looking at input like this: https://smile.amazon.com/Wireless-Microphone-Microphone-Ideal-Presentations-K038/dp/B07CBYWDZX
and transmission like this: https://smile.amazon.com/HamiltonBuhl-Additional-Channeled-Wireless-Transmitter/dp/B0039KSI98/
The VHF speakers I'm finding seem to be designed for marine use and are hardwired. I need battery operated (ideally rechargeable). I'll start with 6 speakers. The perfect scenario would allow me to scale up from there easily to 10 speakers.
Am I thinking along the right lines? Does anyone know if a solution like this exists in kit form, or know of an appropriate speaker?
Thanks for any advice you can give!
I have two Karaoke Systems:

One at home with Speakers, a Mixer, Wired Mics, and I feed sound from a MiBox to the mixer, and use YouTube. People can cast, and add to the queue easily.

But if you're interested in a portable system that works pretty well, here's the following set-up I used that works really well.

It's a pretty easy portable set-up, the Speaker Has a Karaoke Mode, can connect two wired mics (not recommended) or connect to the Wireless Receiver since it can amplify the microphones itself. The "mixing" is manual as in you find the perfect volume at first, then set-and-forget.

It sounds REALLY good, and packs a punch.

If you're doing a home set-up, go with PA Speakers and a Mixer.

Keep an eye out for Monoprice Gear, especially the following bundles:

u/raffelpaffle - that sounds like a lot of hassle. Maybe you should consider a $479 Comica CVM-WM300 dual channel UHF wireless setup (with two transmitters and one receiver) instead?
The Comica will cost you a lot less than two $343.89 Rodelinks [Referral Links] - and give you a convenient single audio output to plug into your camera.
The WM300 is reviewed here. A very good value for your money.
Hope this is helpful and good luck finding the right dual lav solution for your needs!
Monoprice PA system $166 it will be loud and have enough bass to make the kids happy.
Add a MP3 player for $35 for music
Add a wireless Mic for $32 and you can run practice through the PA system
--OR--
An all in one system with a mic, but not a wireless mic for $229. Plenty loud with enough bass
Another all in one system for $199 with a wired mic
Now you know what to look for. The kids will love these systems because it will play loud and have bass. Sometimes getting people bought in is just making them happy.
I personally use this microphone. I plugged it into the vive's extra usb on the headset, and then have the microphone itself duct taped to headset, doesn't look professional, but it sounds way better then the vive mic, and you could also shell out extra cash for a better usb microphone.
USB Lavalier Microphone-MAONO AU-410 Lapel Mic Hands Free Shirt Collar Clip-on Microphone for PC Computer, Laptop, YouTube, Skype Recording, Live Broadcasting https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074BLM973/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_1Kf5Bb28EYVAF
That's pretty awesome. I used to love going to the buskers festivals when I lived in Christchurch.
In regards to your setup. If your bluetooth speaker has a mic input or a Line Input you may be able to use something like these in conjunction with your Speaker. The transmission method would be whatever these systems use, so you shouldn't have any noticble latency issues.
All of these are sub $50. I can't state that the quality will be what you want, but again, I do not know your price range.
Here is a wireless Lav: https://www.amazon.com/Fifine-25-Channel-Transmitter-Performance-K037/dp/B06XXW1GTZ/ref=sr_1_1?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1498544980&sr=1-1&keywords=wireless+microphone
Here is a headset which might end up being better.
https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Microphone-Advanced-Technology-Amplifier/dp/B06WLLP2RW/ref=sr_1_5?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1498545140&sr=1-5&keywords=wireless+microphone+headset
Basically, you will need:
now, here's your problem--maybe. If you are running AUDIO/VIDEO through your Xbox into one HDMI input and your MICS into ANOTHER HDMI input....can you have them playing through the receiver at the same time? See what I'm saying. So you might need to simply run ALL of your audio through your MIXER (mics, music) and run your video through your TV.
Anyway, sorry if it's confusing. I'll try to answer any questions.
source: Karaoke host/enthusiast forever. I'm Japanese. It's what we do.
We spent about $150 on our first one and had to upgrade it to the Rhode Pro because it just wasn't cutting it. Try to increase your ISO before going wider with your lens, it's good to have a wide aperture but if you're walking around it can be very shallow and you'll find yourself out of focus in a big portion of the video. Try not to go any wider than f/2... ideally 3.5! Always so much to learn, and the only way to really learn is to do it. Keep doing what you do! You can also try a wireless clip-on like this: https://www.amazon.ca/Fifine-20-Channel-Microphone-Transmitter-Performance/dp/B06XXW1GTZ/ref=sr_1_4?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1550856817&sr=1-4&keywords=wireless+clip+on+mic (sorry we're from Canada so we've got Amazon.ca here!)
I feel these type of headsets would help with the wearing it in the helmet situation instead of full sized headsets.
This [one] (https://www.amazon.com/Gaming-Headset-Headphones-Earphone-Microphone/dp/B07MMBCTJW) or this one or this one.
Also... Uhmmm.... Smug Mira smile please. Thanks.
it's a 1080p, but it's hardly new, got it in 2013. i've thought about getting an actual video camera but i don't know how to go about hooking it up to function as a webcam (you know, streaming function). i'm also relying on the webcam's little mic, which is not great. i don't super want a condenser or something obscuring me (cause i mean, cam girl, not podcast girl), and i also typically have music playing, so i'm always concerned about the mic picking up the music and playing and i've had trouble finding a software solution to direct audio through separate devices (ideally, it'd be great to have music running to the stream and an ear piece, and use one of those little bitty mics something like this to keep the music off of the mic but still be able to hear it. guess i need to look more into mixing software or something, idk.
Those sennheisers are great imo. You could also consider the Rodelink film maker kit which a lot of people have good things to say about. Amazon referral link
I use these when I have to record away from my desk: https://www.amazon.com/Mics-MAONO-Omnidirectional-Microphones-Smartphone-Transmitter/dp/B071X6H6ZS
They work wonderfully for what I need and they are pretty affordable too!
Thanks for the tip! I'm getting the mic below in case others will find it helpful.
I'm starting a channel to build a community and hangout/share experiences with other Subaru BRZ owners and enthusiasts.
Wireless Mic for Smartphone
Hey Zaka, thanks for trying to help out earlier. The one mic I linked was a wired one I was considering, however, I finally had some time to look for some and found these two wireless options. K031B going for $39.99 and G130 going for $49.99. I have rechargeable batteries so the K031B needing 2 AA batteries won't be an issue, however I'd like your opinion on these two wireless options I'm looking at. I don't know much about mics, so I'm hoping you know what to look for.
I would suggest you get a microphone that's separate from your headphones. That way you can get decent headphones without massively overpaying.
For example a pair of ATH M20x plus this: https://www.amazon.com/HUACAM-YYPJ-02-Condenser-Microphone-Connector/dp/B00VYJJ1YM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1498457581&sr=8-4&keywords=headset+microphone and you got something sound quality wise that can compete with $100 headsets and that's me being very generous with headsets.
I was thinking of something like that just honestly the audio has never been something I've messed with. Done photo shoots and more music video with music on top of the footage.
I don't have any type of recorder/mixer anything. Just my camera and some boom mics I've jacked
Directly into the mic port on the dslr.
Even this.
Fifine 25-Channel UHF Wireless Lavalier Lapel Microphone System with Bodypack Transmitter, Mini XLR Female Lapel Mic and Portable Receiver, 1/4 Inch Output. Perfect for Live Performance. (K037) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XXW1GTZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_LD0DzbNTD2Y8S
Seems super cheap. Just trying to get the mic as close to the talker as possible because it'll be a restaurant/bar with people talking, drinking etc..
Was even looking st a separate recorder and syncing the audio after the fact but don't know where to start.
If you want to use your surround sound, then why cover any ears at all? You could plug something like this into the controller and use it as a mic while using our speakers for everything else.
When it comes to wireless microphone systems, you shouldn't go cheap.
Here's a decent one that is especially designed for for DSLRs. 3.5mm instead of XLR will be beneficial for you.
hurry, these just went on sale 2 days ago, I posted it here.https://www.amazon.com/Behringer-MPA40BT-BEHRINGER/dp/B00EMDNLUM/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&qid=1542663770&sr=8-20&keywords=behringer+portable+pa
I use it for all my beach and outdoor weddings up to 125 or so guests. For mic, I use this cheap rig and it has never failed me for over a year:

I use this mic, and I had to Dremel down one side of the plug and use a razor to trim down the wire protector on top. I meant taking a Dremel to the USB plug to trim it down, not to Dremel any of the parts of the Vive.
It's just a USB port. It shows up in Windows as a mic that you can select under the Vive Audio settings.
I use these in my shop, not bad for 30 bucks

Also this, but not as discrete.

You two should really invest in a couple of these.

Audio quality for music and sounds, or for voice calls only? If the set is only for voice calls, use a bluetooth earpiece since voice calls are already highly compressed and not very good quality. If you want audio quality for music and game audio then buy a bluetooth headset, or maybe buy a wireless lavalier microphone to use in conjunction with your headphones.
this one is what I've got. Cheap cheap cheap, so get like six, keep the receiver basically at the edge of the stage (seriously, like range under 25'), and get ready to kill some 9volts, but it would probably do what you need it to do.
I've already got a mic for being still. But we are a DnD podcast and I am the DM and my players pointed out I tend to move around a lot while I'm DMing, and especially when I'm going to the map or something, I just started looking at wireless Lav options. This one looks to be the only one in my preferred price range, but the reviews leave me unimpressed. I could do something like this guy if I bump my price range up to $100, but I'm really hating adding another powered until to my largely mobile set up.

> Currently trying to decide on a mic to use along with my VR head set. Currently I'm looking at this wired clip-on mic as a light option to use with VR, I do plan to order a 5ft extension on top of its 11ft length, but I don't want to deal with dragging another cable along with my vr set. I'm looking at the K031B and G130 as a wireless option. Any advice as to which one I should pick from these three or are there better options out there.

> How can I fix losing signal with DisplayPort cable? Most if not all DP cables that I can buy are from shitty chinese companys. I have one from a reputable brand that's never losing signal. There is an option to adjust voltage swing in AMD Adrenalin, could that damage my gpu or monitor?
