I'd recommend getting something like this if not a release. Not necessarily this one, it's just an example. But you'll be most consistent with a mechanical release.

Just to elaborate on protective gear. THIS is like the arm guard I use and THIS is like my glove. I am big on not being maimed by my hobbies :-)

A good variety of Allen Keys. And something nice and compact to hold them in. But try to stay away from the collapsing sets that are all compact like Example only because sometimes they are too short to reach what your trying to use.

I have a different model but is that an attachment for what is labeled #3 in your image for a device like this? If so, it would attach somewhere near the "heel" of the rope catch - behind it to use as a guide for the device.

I recommend Scorpion Venom's liquid bowstring wax..you just rub the tube up and down your strings (it has a foam roller tip) then take your fingers and work it in. Good stuff.

Purchase this for a quick replacement.... cheap and easy. you have a 62" bow which requires a 58" actual length string. Look at Fast Flight string for an upgrade... Check to make sure your bow is compatible though.

I would personally recommend always wearing an armguard or some kind of protection because slapping the bajesus out of your arm just once is enough to throw you off your mental game for the rest of your archery session (trying to concentrate on a shot while worrying about slapping your arm is hard!)

More power to you if you don't need it, but since you're beginners I'd highly recommend it.

Soft armguards do exist as well: https://www.amazon.com/Bohning-801009LG-Slip-On-Armguard-Large/dp/B006QP9PFE/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1481190879&sr=8-10&keywords=archery+armguard

I personally prefer leather for my armguards, but most anything will work if you're using a lower poundage bow

I use the deerskin glove from Neet. For me it's the perfect blend of feel and protection for my fingers.

I added a 16x10 net to my backyard range last year, mostly because I host the local medieval recreationist archery practice at my house in fair weather, and without the net, we spend a LOT of time looking for the misses of the newer folks who can't reliably hit the hay bales every time.

It's this net here: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00R1ZGHKO

It works great, stops everything up to 50 pound recurves with no problems so far, and makes practices a LOT more efficient, as we're not wasting a ton of time looking for arrows in the high grass.

Or buy some nock pliers. You don't want to crush the bead, which is what usually happens to me with nock beads. Ultimately you'll want to get good at tying nock sets though. It should not move.

Yeah, fingerless gloves don't do anything for me. I've been wearing some of these 5.11 gloves for years, for any situation that my hands need some protection so I figured they'd work fine on the trails ... and they do.

I use some ratty old camo bow hunting mittens similar to these I got for $5 at the Goodwill. They're the best! The mitten and thumbs fold back for when your hands start to get too hot. Ugly as all hell but who cares?

String and jig on Amazon. Nice and simple.

Something like this!

Allen Arrow Puller with Molded Grips and Belt Clip, Green/Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FXXPQS0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_s.VBCbN7MG713

It looks reminiscent of an archery guard like the second picture here. The way it’s snugged to the wrist is different.

u/xavier_grayson · 1 pointr/Archery

Yeah I found one here for $10.

u/HerpDerpingVII · 1 pointr/bowhunting

Are you hunting from a tree stand? I take it you like a bow-mounted quiver? Four or five arrows is usually enough, with spares in a storage tube.

There are a lot of options, but this one doesn't rattle and is only $20.

u/nhm6408 · 1 pointr/bowhunting

Actually ordered this one earlier. $7 is more my price range.

u/atomicllama1 · 1 pointr/bicycling

I think you are over paying for tools. I think I went you could have all the tools you need to get 99% of anything done with your bike. And In less time then it would take to get your bike to the shop.

u/amoebicArtiste · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

P.P.S. You may want to get a tab to protect your fingers as you draw the string and an arm guard to protect from string slap. Quivers are nice too, but not totally necessary. I like the kind that goes on your back, the hip kind always annoyed me.
