You definitely don't want to plug that power adapter into the wall outlet unless you're certain that it's both the right voltage and the right polarity. The best way to ensure this, of course, is to buy another Atari 2600 power supply online, but if you google around, you can probably find out what voltage and polarity you will need. This one on Amazon looks like the one you need from a quick glance, so it might be a good starting point for your search.
As for hooking it up to your TV, here is a great video showing you all you will need to know. If you're ambitious and you trust your skills with a screwdriver, you might want to open up that console and clean it and restore it. It must have decades of accumulated dust and dirt inside it, and it looks like the console end of the RF cable needs to be reseated too.
You should also clean the connectors of all those game cartridges before you use them, and here is one method of doing that.
If you can get the roller paddles, Kaboom is super fun. I think you can trade the paddle back and forth when playing a two-player game. Some of my other favorites:
I'm sure there are others escaping me right now.
Edit: Oh the only paddle version has two anyway. It's really cool how sensitive they are, being that they're analog.

There are companies out there. When I was custom making a usb atari joystick for my dads Atari raspberry Pi I was searching for replacemebt parts for a retrobit usb atari joystick since they used an all black plastic stick. Which was not flimsy, but lacked an authentic feel. So I got these with a much stronger internal plastic piece.

Works great honestly. Rubber cover does not feel exactly like an original atari stick cover but it's a replica and not going to be exact. But it does feel nice and can be used in both the cheap retrobit joysticks and the oroginal CX40's.
> If it's not a throwback, what's their market?
People who generally love the Atari aesthetic -- which is a lot of people over the age of 30. Remember, people still buy Atari t-shirts, name their bands after Atari, buy books about Atari art.
And it's not as though the Atari brand has been dormant for the past century. It's published Alone in the Dark, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Neverwinter Nights, Dragonball Z, Godzilla, amongst other titles.
Honestly, I'd love to see Atari re-enter the PC market. I was a big fan of their 8-bit and ST line of computers. If they made an affordable Steambox, I'd probably buy it.

The answer; not much.
EIDT: And some games that nobody is looking to pay more than a few bucks for along with a lot nobody will pay for at all. Retro stuff has already depreciated a lot. Only the super rare good stuff is worth anything. Snag a copy of Chrono trigger with the original box and then you've got yourself a good deal.
Epyx 500XJ
Sturdy, made to be held, and super clicky AF. Loved that thing.
Well, my first console was a Sears brand console that played Atari games. Was one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/sears-telegames-atari-2600/dp/B01D51EPF6
Friend of mine had the Colecovision one. Actually, come to think of it, none of my group had an actual Atari. But we were poor :)
I was 18 or so before I got an NES (see above about being poor). Ended up with an NES and maybe 5 or 6 games. A knockoff of Burger Time was one of my favorites. That console ended up going to a friend's brothers when I went to college. Wish I still had it, but oh well.
If you are into classic Atari covers j[o]ust be sure to check this amazing book that includes every one of them: "Art of Atari".
I bought one and it's a good quality one, with hard covers and a really HUGE format, filled with all these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1524101036/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
Pole Position, Pitfall, Mrs. Pac Man, and Asteroids are all classics but Pitfall seems to be the only $$ profit one. Pole Position is a little over a dollar used on amazon. Still, those are classics.
It's far more than audio-only - it also carries power and can send/receive data. Examples of what 3.5mm jacks can be used for:
And surely tons of other things.
The brand new ET game for the Atari! Also, I happen to have a small supply of ET game cartridges. So please stock up while I'm still in stock!
Edit: No this game can not be acquired for free at a mythical Atari landfill in New Mexico.
Well since it's USB you could always just get USB controllers for each one. I have the SNES and NES ones. There are also N64, Sega Genesis, and even Atari 2600 controllers. Just go on amazon and type in (console) usb controller and you'll probably find it.
if you are dead set to get it repaired - check your local area for electronic repair shops. Not many out there but there are a few. Not sure what they charge though.
Just checked amazon.. they have on there for 60 bucks. Might be the best way to go.

There's an entire book about it called "Art of Atari" by Tim Lapetino that was just recently released. Really good read. He's also releasing a poster book later this year.
You might enjoy this Atari coffee table book. I've seen it and it's quite rad!
Very nice! If you don't have any controllers yet (and even if you do) pick up one of these - https://www.amazon.com/500XJ-Joystick-Controller-ATARI-2600-System/dp/B00BNIFCGU - I was skeptical but once I used it I have no interest in going back to the originals.
There’s also this if you really like Atari art: Art of Atari https://www.amazon.com/dp/1524101036/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_xVVBDbHNZQB22
No problem, if you're a fan of Atari art, then I can highly recommend The Art of Atari, a really cool coffee table book by Tim Lapetino.
Do yourself a favor and buy this.
You might want to check out the "Art of Atari" book'

Diese Teile gibt es aber schon ewig.
https://www.amazon.com/ATARI-2600-Wireless-controller/dp/B00HULEURQ
Not a cheap item to obtain hahah
https://www.amazon.ca/Atari-Games-CX40-JOYSTICK-CONTROLLER/dp/B007C58828 here
You mean 33 years, right?
Grab a sandwich, grab a drink and pick up a copy of Art of Atari for something to pass the time as you wait.
Is this the book you're looking for?
Then check out Art of Atari. I have it sitting on my coffee table in front of me. Instills a massive wave of nostalgia every time I open it.
I do miss my Atari I had in 1982........Pitfall was the Chit!
I should order one of these

Those lines are definitely trying to evoke the classic VCS/Atari 2600. Then again, they're on like the Atari Flashback 7 at this point. They pump out an Atari retro console like clockwork every Christmas now. I'd be surprised if they're doing another rehash of the 2600 games. There's plenty of stock of the older ones floating around. They normally don't advertise those heavily as they're more of an impulse buy and they're cheap.
Nintendo's very late to the retro console party. Everyone else has already done it. Their heyday was the around 2004-2008. There have already been numerous Atari, Coleco, Intellivision retro consoles and handhelds. Classic Arcade games even had their run with half a dozen variants of Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Frogger, and even 2600 "plug-n-play" joysticks.
And before those, all the Atari and Coleco and Intellivision and Arcade collections for Playstation, PS2, XBoxetc.
It's possible it's a retro console, but I doubt they'd go to the trouble of doing marketing for it. Everyone who wants one probably has 2-3 at this point. I think it's got to be something new.

Just buy this for 100th the price and get bored with that in 10 minutes instead.
Welp, hate to be "that guy", but excluding s&h, E.T. Is going for as low as 1 cent on amazon.

There is a killer book called "The Art if Atari". My buddy has it and I look at it every time I go to his place. Here is a link:
