You can get the Ford pieces but they come without other parts like thermostat, o-rings etc. I haven't had any problem with the Dorman kit which comes pretty complete.

These aren't hard to do, you'll want to squeeze the lower hose clamp and just slide it down the hose until you put the new one on. When you get the housing off you want to clean the o-ring surface on the head(about 1 inch diameter) so its smooth and shiny, maybe use some fine sand paper or scotchbrite. There's one or two sensors in the top area, be sure to replace the o-rings for them.

Did you looked for options on amazon or similar like this ?

On my experience with a Mustang GT 95 without thermostat it is very important, not because of the myth that the water stays long on the radiator and then cool better the block, it is because of the pressure of the water increase with the thermostat and that's it how it was designed to be. Not to mention your issue with heating the engine in the cold, would take years and waste a lot of gas.

The answer is: change the thermostat, check similar models and check if it fits.

Find a junkyard or the correct part number for your car and order a new part for $20 to $40 bucks..

Though I can't find the a part number, you can check dealer and ebay, etc. might take longer to get hands on than jbweld

Aveo, its thermostat housing is so shitty that Dorman couldn't replicate the factory style non-serviceable shittiness and made an aftermarket metal one that is serviceable.

I have three friends with an Aveo. First has been babied and has numerous problems. Second tore through suspension components and tires constantly. Third had two engine replacements under warranty.

This is the exact one I got. I left a review I was so impressed with the construction, it should last the life your engine.

The cap is $28 dollars.

What you need is a whole mirror assembly, which is a combination of the part you have cracked (unlisted) and parts 3,4,5. That runs anywhere from $150-300, depending on your trim level.

The problem isn't the car; its rhe part. Go to Amazon and look at the reviews for that acdelco part. You have people saying they fail within 10k miles.

This is the replacement i got. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B078GKKS9P?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

No problems with it, and the sensoe actually works correctly. With the original the needle was always at the same place all the the time; with one it creeps up from zero
