Gabriel Front shocks $58.99

Gabriel rear shocks $80

These Spring assisted gabriels can be replaced with basc hand tools and need 2 jacks to be replaced.

Or

Front and rear shocks $135

Other than needing a single car jack and hand tools this set can be installed easily.

coil spring $61

Coil spring $64

Coil spring insulater $5

coil spring tool $15 - $50 or you can rent a tool at your local auto shop for a refundable deposit.

how to replace coil springs

If you have basic tools this entire repair can be had for as little as $250. You would pull out the shocks and springs then install the springs first then the shocks.

Check out these links, it will probably help to determine the correct part number in whatever brand you want and search by part number. Try looking directly at the part manufacturer site or searching by gm part number if you have it.

Some people who tow with Delicas put on air adjustable rear shocks for levelling the load.

I've also read about adding a rear leaf spring for better suspension under a tow load.

A bit more info here:

Regarding a hitch, there are not a lot of off the shelf options. The hitch sold by FTS 4x4 in Taiwan is one popular option.

I actually installed this and the one with the body mount to the front of this a couple weeks ago. I still have to do the other side with the body mount so I'll try and take some pics during the process.

This is what I went with. Kept the ride height about the same and everything bolted up fine.

Demotor

Springs are not really the way to increase ride height without sacrificing comfort and handling. But they do make a shock that could be help.

I put Bilsteins on my front and Monroe spring assisted shocks in the rear https://www.amazon.com/Monroe-58640-Adjusting-Shock-Absorber/dp/B000C53S1G I've never been locked into the idea that all 4 have to be the same brand.

Shocks have a tough job, I like the concept of a heavy spring helping the rod, especially in the rear. So far has worked out great, some models they don't fit because of clearance issues.

Monroe rear shocks are $20 each (Amazon)and if you can change a light bulb you can do this repair.

Monroe makes a “Ready-strut” that cost $112 ea (Amazon). This is a pre-assembled strut/spring assembly. Three bolts at the top, two at the bottom.

It’s not an easy repair but very DIY possible.

So for about $275 and some work you can make it handle like new.

Oops looks like they were $90. Isnt that always how a build goes? Think you spent half of what you actually spent..

Yeah just found those actually.

In the rear of my 2000 I got Monroe Air Shocks put in in the meantime between putting in new leafs, they're amazing. They were only about $100 on Amazon (CAD).

Here is a link to the ones that fit my Jeep, if yours is a 97 it should be good too, but I'd double check just in case.

I went with springs only, specifically the Eibach Pro-Kit, lowers it about 1.6 inches all around. You are in luck, they are having a sale. https://eibach.com/us/i-2278-pro-kit-performance-springs-set-of-4-springs.html

As for shocks, if you wanted to replace them at the same time, Bilsteins supposedly work well with lowering. https://www.amazon.com/Bilstein-24-102582-Monotube-Shock-Absorber/dp/B009FU62IU/ref=pd_bxgy_263_img_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B009FU62IU&pd_rd_r=206674ab-b659-11e8-bcdb-932140fb8169&pd_rd_w=KShUv&pd_rd_wg=E6gCq&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=3f9889ac-6c45-46e8-b515-3af650557207&pf_rd_r=JZGR5Z688N7TJ8MFSMCM&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&psc=1&refRID=JZGR5Z688N7TJ8MFSMCM

Coil overs where few and far between, and the prices usually started around 1300.

I didn't look much into this option as I had already received the springs, but search Ford Mondeo accessories / mods. It's the international version of the US Fusion, however the Mondeo has a larger after market scene so I'm sure some digging could really reveal some options.

u/crystalsnow25 · 2 pointsr/fountainpens

According to someone in the Q&A here, it should take a Monteverde converter (70mm length) with a screw-type piston, or any converter with standard international fitting (provided it's not too long).
