I completely agree that you should bring it up. Most of the time I think it’s not best to point out others’ faux paus, but as a bridesmaid and a best friend, you owe it to her to give her a nudge. I know you have already spent a lot of money, but to make things easier, it might help if you bought her a pack of cute thank you notes and say “I saw these and thought they’d be perfect for your shower gift thank yous. I know you’re busy so if you need help addressing this week, let me know!”
I bought these for my thank you notes when I got married. Cheap and super cute. 12.00 Is a small price to pay to urge someone to have proper etiquette.Otherwise a bunch of pissed ladies are going to show up to her wedding. Personally, I would be so offended if someone didn’t acknowledge a gift along with my efforts to come to a shower and I probably wouldn’t ever think of them the same way. Judgmental AF, but true.

I want to thank /u/mynthe for always being so kind and warm to everyone around her. She has a such a big heart and you can tell, even over the internet <3
Thank you /u/poweredbyanxiety for always being there for me and helping through some really hard times. I really have no words for how much I appreciate it <3
And thank you /u/robertsinpants2 for always being awesome. You always make me laugh and smile, even if I'm upset! Also, >.> And you're a fabulous artist and you inspired me to draw naked people!!
I hope you all have a SUPER THANKSGIVING :D You all definitely deserve an awesome Thanksgiving! <3
If I happen to win would a giftcard be okay? :) If not, I'd love [these postcards!] (http://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00ED8O3P8/ref=aw_wl_ov_dp_1_11?colid=1OM0OQRG5K6ZX&coliid=I2OVBYCUMNJBY0)
I ALWAYS hit that point in a project, whether it's painting a room or cross-stitching a sampler, where I'm over the initial excitement about it and just kind of want to be done, but there's SO MUCH LEFT TO DO so it's really hard to get motivated. For me, it really helps to reframe my focus at that point away from getting the project finished to just making the physical job I have left to do a little bit smaller. It's so easy to get discouraged when you've "only" gotten x amount more finished in your work session, and just being able to think about it in terms of "well, now I have x amount less to do later!" instead can be a lot more motivating.
With creative projects it's tougher, but I find that approaching from a different angle can be helpful - write a different scene instead of working linearly if you're roadblocked, or spend some time thinking about the story from a different angle to get re-inspired. Would it work the same if it took place in a different time period? A different location? What would those characters be like if they'd met in a coffee shop instead of a street fight? etc. It can help give you insight into your characters and why the context you're writing them in matters, and help you go back to your original plot with new energy.
(Googly Moogly Whoopi Jubbly! From my wishlist, what I'm really most into right now would be the set of retro holiday postcards so I can spam my friends and family with cheer via the USPS.)
What a nice offer. I am going to put in a request here for cards We are on a tight budget, but I like to give, and I like to give snail mail. These cards are beautiful, would make me happy to send them out to others to make them happy.
I just learned what a koozie is, ha ha ha, we have none, but if we come across any, I will keep you in mine. Have a great week and weekend. :)
I've unfortunately never been to Disney World. I would love to go, I'm actually pretty desperate to, but I haven't had the chance/can't afford it. One day!
I think these ideas are pretty good, it would just be up to you and your hustle to make them happen. Which do YOU think you'd be best at? Try printing up some flyers with a google voice number and post them to gauge interest. Avery has some nice papers/templates that you could use starting out to make it look professional. Something like this.
If there's a large senior population, that seems like a good place to start. They might need computer help or errands like you mentioned.
Good luck!
Happy early birthday! When is it next week? My son was born on the 11th :)
I like to send cards and postcards on r/randomactsofcards and I'm loving these unique mailbox postcards but I have lots of cards and postcards on my wish list and surprises are great too :D
Happy gift day !
In short, not really. As long as it makes a connection and doesn't provide too much resistance, it will be fine and you probably won't notice a difference.
The quality of cable CAN make a difference though, mostly over long distances where electrical resistance (impedance) and amperage are a consideration. Impedance can affect how hard your amplifier has to work to deliver the audio signal. The gauge and type of cable is going to be the biggest factor in this regard.
The cable should be a good conductor of electricity. Pure silver has one of the best coefficients of conductivity, but it is expensive. Copper is a cheaper alternative that is still very conductive, that is why it is such a popular choice for all types of wiring. Gold is less conductive than copper, and aluminum is less conductive than gold, etc...
Another factor in reducing impedence would be the gauge, or size of the cable. Thicker cables allow more electrical current (amperage) to flow through, and thereby have less impedance.
An 18GA wire can handle less current than a 12GA wire. A 12 GA wire will have more resistance than a 10GA wire.
Impedence increases over distance, so longer runs of speaker cable may require thicker gauge cables, and/or more conductive materials to deliver the signal from the amp to the speakers as efficiently as a short cable.
Here's a handy-dandy calculator to help you determine the proper cable.
And here's a chart for determining the max length of cable / system impedence-load, in case you don't feel like looking up
the picofarads of a particular brand of cable. or dampening factor of your amp.
The type of wire has a smaller effect on the performance of a cable than any of the aforementioned factors, but should still be considered. Because of the skin effect high frequency electrons travel along the outside edge of a strand of wire. It is for this reason that stranded wire is preferable.
tl;dr
I would recommend taking out a second mortgage and getting something like this just to be sure you get the best audio quality. /s
If you’re up to the challenge of advocating and striving to educate everyone you encounter who is close-minded/ignorant, I think that’s incredibly admirable.
Moving forward with that plan, I would encourage you to remember two things:
To see a rough example of what that might look like, check out this infographic from Carma Poodale, or this brochure, any of these cards located on Amazon although personally I like this one best since it takes the extra step of noting that SD handlers don’t have to provide a card, thus protecting teams who come along after you. There’s a few different printable resources here for more specific scenarios. As a disclaimer, I have not vetted all of these websites, I’ve simply bookmarked them over time as a jumping off point. Hopefully you’ll find them helpful.
I had these for awhile. They lasted me a really long time and were ideal for short correspondences. Plus I love the movies featured on the postcards!
This used is within the price range :)
Write on!
PS: If you want to be penpals, I'd be happy to! I can also refer you to a couple of sites to help you get writing again. I love penpalling :)
Sorry I'm late, others have given you great ways to have a good deck produced, they can be a little bit expensive, if you goal was to simply print one deck for a card game.
If you really just want to print one deck for a drinking game, but have it on something more resembling a deck of real cards, you can simply print the cards on a good quality linen finish cardstock:
https://www.amazon.com/Southworth-Cotton-Coverstock-inches-Z550CK/dp/B00125JBX4/
If you are just printing text, than a good quality home printer should produce an acceptable quality. If you want to throw a few more dollars at the project, take it to staples and have it printed on a high quality laser printer.
You'll have to cut the edges on a basic straight edge paper cutter, unless you have access to a die-cutter to perform the nice rounded corners you find on a deck of cards. They can be rather expensive and not worth-while for a project of this small scale.
One tip, I can offer is to use a whole punch to clean the corners. A 90 degree angle corner on a card is likely to get bent and deformed over time. Carefully running each corner into a hole punch will "die-cut" each corner into a inverted arc. Not as good as a real die-cut, but a nice little finish, if done accurately. It will take some experimenting to set up guides on the whole punch that you can align each corner into to get a symmetrical even punch each time. If you mess it up, the deck will not stack straight on the corners.
EDIT - Never mind, looks like corner rounders are now pretty cheap!
https://www.amazon.com/Aidox-Angle-Eater-Corner-Rounder/dp/B00161Q13C
I believe for the postcard exchange (and all other 0 credit exchanges) the $20 minimum is waived. But trust me, there are still ways. The shopaholic in me believes this to be true! Like:
For someone who says they have a large collection of postcards: https://www.amazon.com/Postcard-Classic-Hobbymaster-collection-expandable/dp/B002ER0I9A/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1474682310&sr=8-7&keywords=postcard+book
For the Disney lover: https://www.amazon.com/Art-Disney-Golden-Age-1937-1961/dp/1452122296/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1474682310&sr=8-3&keywords=postcard+book
For the psychology student: https://www.amazon.com/PostSecret-Extraordinary-Confessions-Ordinary-Lives/dp/0060899190/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1474682439&sr=8-1&keywords=post+secret
From the one who dreams of going to NYC someday: https://www.amazon.com/3dRose-Greetings-Scenic-Postcard-Reproduction/dp/B016YHAFNO/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1474682761&sr=8-16&keywords=postcards+fabric+greetings+from (plus a pillow for that)
For me, these exchanges are about creativity. I love playing off the theme, finding something that really suits the person and thinking outside the box about it all. But that might just be me.
>Thanks for the suggestions. Couple of follow up questions.
>
>> The cooler seems overpriced
>
>Are there cheaper models as good as the Noctua NH-D15? The G. Skill RAM is too tall to fit under the Noctua (but I do like the cheaper faster RAM you choose).
If you aren't planning to overclock then you could get away one of the smaller noctura coolers. Otherwise you might have to go for a CLC to fit around the ram.
You can still OC pn a smaller cooler but you will need to run the fan faster and it will be louder.
>> I would strongly think about getting a 1TB 970 EVO
>
>Why is this one way faster than the 860 or are there other benefits to the 970 I should be considering?
>
I think it has more write endurance but the main thing is it's about 3200MB/s write and 3500 read. It's a lot faster if you are going to be loading a 45 GB picture into ram.
The speed on the 970 evo does drop off after a certain size of file write so if you are concerned about that get a 970 pro or the biggest 970 evo you can.
>> Also you should consider getting a powerline adapter
>
>I wish I could but I've tried using those in the room with my computer before and they didn't work (I think it is too many floors away from the router). So I'm kinda stuck with getting a WiFi card.
Ah that's too bad. Are you in an apartment or a house?
In a house i would just run a 30 dollar ethernet cable along the wall.
150 bucks for the wifi card is probably well i to diminishing returns.
>Sounds promising. Guess I'll have to look into those. Is that all one unit or would I have to buy a DAC and headphone amp?
The headphone dac and amp is one unit.
This is the other one I was thinking of.
SMSL sApII TPA6120A2 Big Power High Fidelity Stereo Headphone Amplifier black https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00NLX9PLI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_t3f4BbMHYFK33
Normally it's around 70 bucks so half the price of a sound card.
Although unless you have monstrous headphones i would try the motherboard audio. I can't tell the difference when close to the computer and motherboard audio has gotten pretty good.
I would have recommended the 1920x when it was on sale for 400 bucks but now that it's gone back up it's not any better an option than the 8700.
Looks pretty good. You could also opt to use a different kind of PSU setup to gain more efficiency. You'll save about 20W idle, which translates to an extra $20 per year in electricity savings because the file server is on 24/7.
I do the same thing at my house, but when I switched from a regular power supply to a picoPSU / AC/DC converter, idle consumption went from 48 to 23W.
I noticed you put down a price in Euros, so it would be smart to make sure you can use the right DC adapter, but as long as you look for the term "picoPSU 24 pin" and find a 12v adapter with enough wattage to support your application, you'll be fine.

Although i've built foam risers before to great success, If you want more flexibility, Ultra Pro Deck Boxes + the like are very useful.
They aren't too expensive and are transparent. They also come with 2 for the price of 1 deck box.
These are the ones I use:

250 Card Size
100 Card Size
25 Card Size

If you just want staircase risers for nendoroids, I bought mine locally. Some scrounging on the subreddit should net you some decent sellers.
It's really easy to DIY this!
We are planning on just buying these. Then you go to www.avery.com/print and enter the number on the box (which happens to be 5302).
They have premade templates, or you can make your own. They also support mail merges where you just upload an Excel file with the Guest's name in one column and the table number in the adjacent one.
When you're all done you can just download the template and print it yourself at home or take it to Staples/kinkos/whatever.
They'll also print it for you for ~$40, but you can get 20% off coupons by requesting one of their sample kits, or just by leaving it in your cart for a few days.
Good luck!
I ended up printing my own using these Avery tent cards. The left side of this picture roughly shows how they turned out. They were a bit of a pain to tear out (they come in perforated 8.5x11 sheets, 4 cards per sheet), but with a few extra hands it was manageable. They stood up fine and were not too flimsy, which is what I was initially worried about.
I designed them using the Avery website and mail merged my guest info in from a spreadsheet. It was pretty simple and painless. I chose to add a graphic for some flair, and I indicated meal choice in the top right corner using a letter (e.g. C=chicken, V=vegetarian), per my caterers preference. But I'm sure you could write it another way or even find some clipart to place on the card to indicate choice of entree - I'd just check with your caterer to see what will be easiest for the waitstaff.
Also Hi B! 🐌💌
I buy blank postcards but I don’t print on them and I don’t know if your printer would handle the size or if you could do the Amazon thing. Just in case here they are.

UltraPro makes postcard sleeves that are larger than oversized cards, but open on the short side and shuffle nicely. They are clear instead of having a colored/textured back so they look like penny sleeves. But they're cheap and work well. I got them after having the same complaint for my Planechase stuff, and commanders.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001A3BEW4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Also for my planechase stuff, I had a shopkeeper suggest laminating them. Which really isn't a bad idea if you intend to keep things for a long time (and planes aren't super expensive, I don't think).
I don't have the DA tarot deck, but I have the DA playing cards and I have some of them in regular card sleeves stuck to the wall with poster tack. It's nice 'cause it lets me take 'em down and play with 'em sometimes, or swap out which ones I'm displaying fairly easily.
Is the DA deck bigger than poker cards? You can get odd sized playing card sleeves, but I've also used post card sleeves taped over or cut down for bigger decks.
Here's what I do: I put them in these first, and then slide these postcard sleeves over the top. The postcard sleeves fit perfectly over the top of the Ultra Pro oversized commander sleeves. There is a little overhang at the bottom which can be easily trimmed with a hobby knife if it bothers you. So it's sort of a reverse double sleeving, but just as protected nevertheless.
Awesome, get another couple and you're good to go! While you're at it go for one of these if you can https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CHSRKJW/ref=psdc_3236443011_t2_B00KY2NKCO
> Should I buy one of those bundle packs?
The deckbuilder toolkit and the bundle, formerly known as the fat pack, contain a package of basic lands. I would not buy either just for the land pack.
The cheapest way is to find someone who already has too many basic lands. Your local game store (LGS) and veteran MTG players typically fall into this category. Just reach out and ask them if they have any basic lands. When I got into MTG last year, I picked up some basics from my LGS for free.
> Whats the normal price per land?
Depends. I've seen $0.00 to $0.05 cents for a basics. Amazon sells basic lands, as do other game stores like TCG Player and Channel Fireball.
Hi, I'm looking to use a headphone amp and DAC for listening to music through my Macbook Air. Theoretically, would these products work together? Just want to make sure they're actually compatible.

If I'm understanding this correctly, the chain would be:
Laptop --> DAC --> Headphone Amp --> Headphones (Sennheiser 598 Cs)
Thanks!
How about this set of 32 vintage travel postcardsThat at least combines old pictures, travelling, and the mail!
You could even mail him one at a time with little notes on the back!
I tried finding old pictures of androgynous mailmen drinking coffee while riding cats and trading pills for candy in Asia, but its a pretty niche field to find....
EDIT: Since it was already posted, attempt two: Vintage Themed Apothecary Labels
You can do this with a dac and 2 headphone amps, https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00A2QLPJM for the main https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00NLX9PLI for the secondary. Hook the optical into the SD793, then run RCA from there to the SAPII. Get two nice comfortable pairs of headphones and you can each control the volume independently also.
Yeah! This is the set I bought if you're interested. There's also a second box with more recent movies on Amazon.
Gifts for Teens
We Didn't Playtest This At AllThat's a great idea, 'Pede! Especially in swing States and handed out at Trump rallies.

Your item I just think it's kinda cool. :)
My item
This because DISNEY (/Pixar). It looks adorable!
My item, also Disney (sorry it's $.08 over; it's my cheapest item, I think)
Don't use deck boxes - send them in one of these ( https://www.bcwsupplies.com/100-card-storage-box ) or one of these ( https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Pro-2-Piece-Count-Storage/dp/B0002TT3L6/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=sports+cards+plastic+case&qid=1565637902&s=gateway&sr=8-3 ).
Both do a good job of preventing the cards from jostling around. If you can't fill them, then stuff some folded paper towels to prevent the cards from moving around during transit. Do use Priority Mail and pay for extra insurance if what you're sending in is worth more than $50, as the extra insurance is cheap. Heck - I sent a $4000 buylist to ABU and insurance was only $25 extra.
They're a little bigger than trading cards and a limited set, but these have been decorating my wall for a year:
Art of Vintage Marvel postcard set
*edit: Didn't even look at the price! But they do have this as instead:
Art of Vintage DC postcard set
Sweet! Now I can sync them with these babies
I usually just go with something like this - it takes a while to go through that, unless you're building an absolutely unreasonable number of decks or kitting out multiple cubes or something.
What about The Art of Disney themed blank cards like this or this so that she can write home when she is away?
These. https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Pro-2-Piece-Count-Storage/dp/B0002TT3L6/
They come in various sizes. My favorite sizes to get are the 25 and 50 card ones for bits. 100 cards for minis.
Man. That's cheap wait till you get a sweet sound system and need a cable.

They fit either standing up horizontal, or you can do two piles laid flat side by side.
I don't sleeve my cards, so I'm not sure how they'd handle sleeved ones.
I think getting these Postcards would be cool. It's a box of 100 DC Comics postcards.
I got these blank postcards from Amazon
Remind me which country you're in again? May be able to find something similar...
ETA: also, these if your printer likes bigger sheets My printer tried to rebel with such a short sheet, but I pretended I was printing an envelope and made my design left-justified.
These are the ones I bought from [Amazon] (http://www.amazon.com/Avery-Small-Cards-Inches-White/dp/B0013CE9S8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404584499&sr=8-1&keywords=Tented+business+cards). Not a bad price for 160 of them. Could even double as place cards on the tables if you plan on doing them!
EVERYTIME! I am not really a huge fan of the dicebag, so I've taken to using deck boxes like these.
What you want is Chipboard (In Europe they call it greyboard) and then you want to print on Linen Paper, and paste it together using Super77. Grab a olaf blade, a cutting mat and a ruler and go to town on it!
I am ordering one soon from Amazon that is by mini-box.
I'm working on repackaging several of my games into these

then, I'll put several of those games into one of these
