Does anyone have a suggestion for a cheap ($25 or less) but serviceable clutch for things like weddings? I have a cross body bag that I use for everyday but my mom made it and while it's very nicely done and my mom is an excellent bag maker, it's a distinctly casual bag.

I'm really just looking for something to hold wallet (which for me is basically my ID and credit cards banded together), keys, and phone (small smart phone), and maybe a chapstick. But I wouldn't mind something that could hold a bit more.

I've been looking and have so far come up with:

• Baggu clutch - seems like a good option, I trust baggu, but I'm worried it'll be too unstructured and it has no wrist strap which is something I'd prefer.
  
• DEEZOMO Clutch wallet - I don't know about the quality here, but the reviews say "ok"
  
• Another clutch wallet - I feel like this one seems more functional than the other, but looks not as nice.
  
  Any other options anyone has come over? Any suggestions? I was planning on just black as the dress I'll likely be wearing to the wedding this summer is black, and if not it's green and navy patterned, so black would be fine.

Brown is pretty neutral so you're open to most options although I think soft colors, neutrals, or jewel tones would be best. I'd recommend something on the more formal side and since it's a holiday party you can't go wrong with a bit of glitz. I threw in some simpler ones too though.

The accents don’t all have to be gold, but gold is in the bride’s wedding colors and I am part of the unofficial wedding party. Other accent colors will likely depend on the necklace.





Thoughts, comments, questions, concerns, or recommendations?

I carry everything I need for work, including my lunch and laptop, in my backpack. When I'm not going to work, I take what I need from my backpack and move it into another bag. My wallet (Baggallini Tessa) converts into a wristlet or crossbody bag, so I can either throw it into a handbag or just grab it out of my backpack and go.

1. I've used three different bags in the past three days: backpack, vintage Coach crossbody bag, and Osprey crossbody bag.
   
2. I switched because I was going out in the evening after work and didn't want to carry my backpack with me.
   
3. I forget things in the other bag (usually my train pass) or wish I had something that I didn't move to the current bag (like hand lotion or gum).
   
4. I move things from my backpack to a handbag and back multiple times a week.
   
5. I keep one handbag next to my closet, and it's the one I switch to most often. The rest of my handbags are in my coat closet, and I use them less often.
   
6. It takes me 10 seconds to move my wallet into the new bag. If I'm going out for the day, it might take me a little longer to get a pouch from my backpack, make sure I have tissues and gum, get my water bottle, etc.
   
7. I like this system because my backpack is the best way I've found to move my stuff around while commuting. The rest of the time, I find that I don't carry around a lot of stuff I don't need.

You could get the older girls a cute purse that they could use again. My boyfriend's work party is 1940's theme and I have no idea what to wear.

I went out to the mall this weekend and got this dress. I have a pair of black heels that have cute details that I wore last year to his works 1930's holiday party. Other then that I have no idea what accessories I should get to make this black dress more 1940's style. As I said I'm hopeless with fashion. :( I was thinking maybe a baublebar necklace like this? This evening bag with a a silver pashmina.

I am going to youtube a 1940's hollywood glam hairstyle and makeup look.

Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated as I have two weeks to get an outfit together.

I have this wallet in pink. I have a love-hate relationship with it. The color is really lovely, a bit more pink than in that photo (you can find better representations if you google it) but not obnoxious, and the leather is very soft. It fits everything, including a checkbook, which I thought would be useful but since I only use checks for rent, it's kind of a waste. It's also quite big, which isn't a problem with a large purse, but when I go out I have to downsize, which is kind of annoying. For that I have a tiny red leather Dooney & Bourke thing that I got at TJMaxx that literally only holds a credit card, ID, and a bit of cash. So there are many things I love about my wallet, but I'm looking to get something more universal.

I would go with some metallic shoes (strappy sandals if it was me), and a fun colorful clutch. I bought this clutch not too long ago & I immediately pictured it with that dress ☺

I think silver would look best.
