Since you asked me specifically for my help.

CPU- this is a very solid choice for gaming. The i5 is about where you'd want to be for a build this price a bump up to an i7 won't net you much but it'll be much more expensive. Also this is a locked CPU so you can't overclock but that's perfectly fine. It's a lot of trouble sometimes.

CPU Cooler- you don't have one, that's good since you're not overclocking. Stock cooler will work. Just a note for when you're building, do NOT power on the computer without the cooler installed.

Motherboard- Solid mATX board. I'm not sure why mATX but it doesn't matter. It makes for a smaller build which is useful if you want to hide it or whatever. Also you're not sacrificing much except for SLI/XFire which you don't need either. I'm not a big fan of mATX since I like the freedom of ATX, but that's personal preference.

Storage- Good harddrive from a reputable brand at a good price. There's always the question of SSDs. They're a massive quality of life improvement but have almost no impact on gaming. I have a SSD as my OS drive and it takes longer for the BIOS to POST than it does to load Windows 8. It'll be another $100 for a decent one. You can do it later, but you should reinstall. Don't buy into those imaging tools, Windows doesn't always like it despite the supposed bit by bit copying.

Video Card- Good choice, the GTX760 is really good price/performance wise, maybe even the best. EVGA has amazing customer service so good choice there as well.

Case- I would recommend that you get the Arc Mini because it has a compartment behind the motherboard that you can stick all your cables, that cable management you hear about all the time. Your build will look cleaner. It is significantly more expensive than the Design Core 1000, so I'll leave it up to you.

Power Supply - Good, nothing too exciting.

Optical Drive - Good, there's not much to say here either.

Operating System - Windows 8 is perfect.

Monitor - Here's where I would recommend something different. I've never hear of Hannspree before, I admit that may be my lack of experience but I think it may be one of those crappy knock of brands. I would go with this ASUS that's on sale currently. Solid quality and reliability.

Keyboard and Mouse - Here is where personal preference comes in force. These are what you'll be using to interact with your computer most of the time. I personally spent a good amount on a mouse and keyboard, but if you're a budget this is also one area where upgrading is super easy. That said, you have good choices my friend got that mouse for and he likes it.

Speakers - I have these Logitech speakers for my mom the quality is definite passable. However if you're gaming with headphones then this isn't an issue. Also I think the ASUS monitor may have speakers, I'm not completely sure.

Good luck! Any questions let me know here.

Budget: $400 is probably the most I'd spend, but would prefer something in the $300 range. Could be persuaded to go higher for something that meets all of my requirements.

Source: Primarily my desktop PC. Bonus points if I could also plug it into my Android phone/tablet and Surface Pro. This is actually my primary source of confusion though. I'm also looking to get a 2.1 speaker set-up for my desktop. I was thinking of getting this. Do I plug my headphones into that? Do I need a DAC/Amp as well, or does that function as both? And what do I need for Dolby Headphones? That definitely seems like something I want for watching movies, but I can't tell if Dolby Headphones is something software driven, hardware driven, or a feature of the headphones themselves. Feel free to recommend an alternative speaker setup if this wouldn't play nice.

Requirements for Isolation: I'll 100% of the time use these at home. I have a fairly loud AC in my room, so it'd be nice to be able to block that out as much as possible. I don't know if this is the correct place to put this, but I'd also prefer sound not bleed out of the headphones as well. If I understand correctly, over the ear headphone can be either Open or Closed. If they are Open, people in the same room can hear your music pretty loudly? I'd want to avoid that. How significant a difference is Open vs. Closed?

Preferred Type of Headphone: Full-sized.

Preferred tonal balance: Overall balanced, I suppose. The subtleties of headphone tonal balance will probably largely be lost on me. I'll mostly be using them for gaming and voice chat.

Past headphones: Bose MIE2: I know Bose gets a lot of flack, but they are the most comfortable in-ear headphone I've ever worn. Logitech G930: Tightly squished my head after prolonged use and constantly disconnected (wireless). I don't have a problem with the way they sound though. They are just annoying with the disconnects (thus the reason I'm opting for wired headphones now) and uncomfortable (so comfort is going to be one of my deciding factors in a new pair).

Preferred Music: Just about everything but Country, and very little Rap. Top bands: Nine Inch Nails, Tool, The Magnetic Fields, Regina Spektor, audio podcasts.

Additional Information: Comfort is definitely my #1 priority, since when I do wear headphones, I wear them for hours at a time. I often wear glasses at the same time, so headphones that play nice with glasses are a plus. I don't think I want pleather pads. I absolutely want a detachable/replaceable cord and any suggestions for where I can find quality replacement cords would be appreciated. I was very close to getting another wireless headset, but I only use them 2 feet away from my computer, so their convenience really is lost on me and I decided to spend the money on something of way higher quality. Since I've decided to get a cord, I want something customizable (and preferably purple). The AKG Q 701 are certainly the most attractive looking headphones I've seen, for reference. Thanks in advance for the help!

I'm not an expert on the matter but I know the basics, hopefully I can help -

First, your last question - yes, a LOT of good music is still released on vinyl. Most records come with a digital download of some sort so if you want to collect vinyl but still have your iTunes library you can do so for minimal cost on top of what you'd already be paying for the digital music anyway.

For a full setup - you don't have to pay as much as some enthusiasts would lead you to believe you also can't expect to get a halfway decent sound out of $60 unit from Target that has built in speakers. At the very least you are looking at $150, and that's if you can make some awesome garage sale scores. If you want brand new equipment you are looking at at least $300-$400.

You will need a turntable, a pre-amplifier, a stereo receiver, and speakers. A lot of stereo receivers like this one have a built in phonograph pre-amp so if you want to knock out 2 birds with one stone go that route. For a turntable, just find something that has a replaceable cartridge (needle), has a stylus counterweight (to keep weight off your record), and is fairly heavy (weight = no vibration). Speakers aren't really hard to figure out - just find some unpowered speakers on Amazon that have a good rating. You don't need some ridiculous setup with a subwoofer and surround sound...two basic floor speakers will sound great.

If you can't afford all of that you can always just get a cheap turntable with USB output like this and some USB speakers like this. It won't sound amazing but it's plenty good enough for most people.

u/blackjakals · 1 pointr/ZReviews

I would say that the Klipsch is a lot better and worth the extra $216, but then again, you would also need an amp and that would cost you a lot more. You just need to really determine if you want to go the passive route and have the ability to upgrade more down the road or get a simple powered system that will work just fine for what you need and sounds great, but not have the ability to upgrade components.

Here a few good options in either category though that would fit your budget:

Passive Setup:

Speakers:

Fluance Signature - $269 CAD

Polk S20 - $350 CAD

Elac Debut B6.2 - $343 CAD

Elac Uni-Fi UB5 - $522 CAD (Considered to be just as good as the Klipsch RP-150M)

Klipsch RP-150M - $289 US (plus shipping and taxes to Canada [$unknown])

SVS Prime - $629 CAD (Can’t tell if this listing is for a pair)

Amps:

SMSL AD18 - $174 CAD

Yamaha RX-V385 - $279 CAD

Denon AVR-S540BT - $377 CAD

Powered Setup:

Fluance Ai40 - $225 CAD

Fluance Ai60 - $403 CAD

Edifier S2000 Pro - $500 CAD

Vanatoo Transparent Zero - $359 US (plus shipping and taxes to Canada [$unknown])

Studio Monitor Setup:

Monitors:

JBL 305P MKII - $440 CAD

Interfaces:

Behringer UMC202HD - $104 CAD

Focusrite Solo 3rd Gen - $159 CAD

Steinberg UR22MKII - $180 CAD

The studio monitor setup is one of my favorites. The JBL’s sound amazing on a desktop, but I would not get one without an audio interface with balanced inputs to help reduce noise.

u/Citi19 · 1 pointr/headphones

I'm building a new PC and wound up about $200 under budget so I'm wanting to get something nice for about that much. Currently I'm using ATH M50s and I'm pretty happy with them for now and I'm in a small apartment so nice speakers seem like a waste, so I've been thinking about getting an headphone amp/DAC for my desk.

To be honest I'm wanting this just as much for the ability to control volume and switch sound between my headphones and desk speakers easily as I am wanting to improve the quality of my sound, but obviously that's important too.

Budget is $200, flexible up to about $300

Plugging these into my desktop PC

I prefer a smoother sound I guess

I'd be using the DAC or amp with ATH M50s primarily, but if I can use the DAC to improve the sound quality of my cheap desktop 2.1 speakers that would be a plus.

I listen to mostly folk, jazz, pop and other softer stuff but I also really enjoy EDM as well.

So far I've looked at the audioengine D1, aune T1, schiit M&M stack,
and the Audinst MX1 but to be honest I'm getting lost trying to figure out what I really need. Would any of these (or any others I missed) work for what I want in the ability to toggle sound between speakers and headphones and desktop volume control while still giving me some tangible improvement to my music for the price?

u/pwrslide2 · 3 pointsr/BudgetAudiophile

I'd look into some Edifier or Fluance Active/powered monitors if really sticking to that $300 and under budget. I have no experience with them but I've heard some good things. $200-$300 options. A sub is really needed to get quality movie theater audio.

Edifier S350DB - active monitors 2.1 with sub - has DAC in it bc has digital input - https://www.amazon.com/Edifier-Bookshelf-Subwoofer-Bluetooth-Wireless/dp/B077Y6PHKQ/

For the fluance setup, the Ai40 leaves you money for the Sub. Ai60 is $300 unless you get them on sale somewhere that I haven’t found. If you aren’t using anything in your house at all, I’m sure the Ai60s will knock your socks off and be enough for a while. Typically, you want to get the best speakers you can afford and then skimp on the rest of the stuff but ultimately you need to be happy with the route you chose. Active bookselfs are versatile in that if you decide on a major upgrade in the future, these are easily moved to other rooms without hassle.

Micca, Dayton Audio and Monoprice have some $100- $120 subwoofer options. I'd probably try out that $99 12" sub from monoprice.

Ai60s were on my short list but ended up splurging more on Kali LP-8s and am happy with my purchase. I however, already have a living room setup so these went in my man cave.

u/-TheAnimeCritic- · 1 pointr/hometheater

aha ofc. Completely noob mistake there. forgot the fact it would technically be a 2.0 system without the sub.

My music tastes are pretty out there for most people. I can listen to pretty much anything but i tend to mostly stick to soundtracks, Classical, Metal and J/K Pop (dont even ask how i managed to go from one end of the spectrum to the other, it just sorta happened:D)

Once i have my gear in front of me i think i will definitely be able to tell if a sub is needed or not. Due to my location i couldnt actually listen to any potential gear beforehand. This lead me to the choice that i have to stick to widely acclaimed gear hence why i went straight for the LS50's given there reputation in the price range. The arcam was picked up much along the same lines with many reviewers stating good synergy with KEF gear. After sifting through the options with my hifi dealer for several hours over the phone i feel pretty safe in the knowledge that it should perform as well as i expect.

My current setup actually consists of a old corsair 2.1 setup and whilst it is a great little system for its price i imagine the kefs should have no problem knocking them out of the park and bringing my audio back into the region im at with headphones currently.

Thanks again for the heads up on Subs i will definitely take a look into a few of those and see if anything takes my fancy.

I'm looking for speakers for my new Sony 65" X950G TV in a 12' x 19' living room. My budget is $300 and am debating between these three options as these are the ones that I've found that would work for me:

Yamaha YAS-207 - $230

Klipsch RSB-11 - $300

Edifier S350DB - $300

I'm not much of an audiophile but I just want something that'll sound good for my TV when watching movies, TV shows, and playing games.

My main priority was looking for something that is within my budget, convenient, has a remote, and no amplifiers/receivers because I don't want to deal with too many cables besides the power cables.

I know sound bars are generally frowned upon but I like the plug & play aspect as well as ease of use, but I saw really great things about the Edifier S350DB in terms of sound quality. The only thing that the S350DB would differ is the lack of HDMI ARC since I would be connecting this to a tv, so is that going to be a big deal?

I'm open to other recommendations as well, but if any of these three stand out, please help me pick which to go for!

u/ctfrommn · 1 pointr/BudgetAudiophile

£50 wont get you anything but low end PC speakers. If you can get up to the £75-100 range there are some options.

The best Ive seen in the UK for ~£50-ish would be.....

Edifier R1010BT - refurbished

Creative T20 - actually pretty good sounding PC speakers, but not like real powered bookshelves.

Options improve with the next tier up. Honestly anything under $100 new isnt going to sound great, in most cases.

u/Vaga13ond · 2 pointsr/BudgetAudiophile

These will all do great for a multimedia speaker system.

Kanto Yu4 (4" speaker) -
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kanto-Powered-Speakers-Bluetooth®-Preamp/dp/B01N7OMH3M

Kanto Yu6 (5.25" speaker, bigger but will have better output)
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kanto-Powered-Speakers-Bluetooth®-Preamp/dp/B01N1YSXWE

or

Vanatoo Transparent Zero's
https://www.amazon.com/Vanatoo-Transparent-Powered-Speakers-Black/dp/B01N33WUJ9

As for subwoofers you really can get anything you like. From the budget Bic F12 to the matching Yu Sub8 to anything SVS makes. I know you listed your budget in Euro's, but I don't know a common site like Amazon to just get you basic pricing in Euro's so forgive the links to all over the world.

The other option is to go passive.

Amplifier: SMSL AD18 w/ subwoofer output
https://www.amazon.co.uk/AD18-Hi-Fi-Stereo-Amplifier-Bluetooth/dp/B071JN7GXN

Speakers/sub: Anything really. This more depends on regional pricing and availability. Here we can get the KEF Q100's for around $250-$300 US. But anything well reviewed that only needs around 40w of power will work well with that amplifier. There's a good number of well reviewed subs that will work for you with the €350 ish left after the DAC/amp and speakers.

u/Konstantine_13 · 2 pointsr/audiophile

A simple 3.5mm to dual 1/4" TS cable is all you need to connect them. It would work perfectly fine with the output on your computer and you would still use Windows to control volume. I just recommend the LSR305's because it is the best bang for your buck in terms of sound quality.

There are smaller speakers that may fit better (like the Micca's mentioned at the top), but typically the smaller you go the less bass you get. And yes you could easily turn them on their side. It's not ideal but it will work just fine. In your particular case, it may still make sense to go with a system that has smaller speakers and a powered sub. Just know that soundbars tend to use a lot of "audio trickery" to create their "multichannel sound". Basically they just butcher the audio using DSP to try to mimic surround sound. You will almost always be better off with 2 individual speakers. Something like this Edifier system or Swan system would sound a lot better than anything with a soundbar.

u/franciscocrz · 2 pointsr/HeadphoneAdvice

Its soooooo frustrating. Especially if you are on a budget. "Just buy a few, try them out, and then return the ones you don't want" yeah let me drop $600+ and then deal with various shipping policies to find the pair of headphones I want. I get it.

The thing is most people don't care about their headphones all that much, its changed a lot over the past 10 years but overall the pinnacle for most seems to be Airpods or Beats by Dre. Its all marketing for the masses that works really well. Plus who wants to deal with getting an amplifier, tuning, and sorting through all those reviews? A lot of these headphones forums are supported by people whose lives revolve around headphones and speakers. They spend tons of time with them and like anything begin to understand and hear the little nuances of each different pair of headphones.

Honestly if you are going to use these to mostly game and haptic bass help you enjoy the experience more, then maybe its the right fit. It might be pushing it, but maybe check out the SubPac too? Used to really be into festivals for a while and people that craved the organ rattling bass from EDC or SONAR, would purchase these for at home listening.

u/GothamCountySheriff · 1 pointr/vinyl

There are probably going to be a ton of responses about the LP60 being the death of society and built from the ground bones of murdered puppies, but for someone who wants to get their feet wet in vinyl and doesn't want to take the time (or possible risk) of buying used, it is an acceptable (though very entry level) turntable to get started with.

Your $200 budget for the whole set is going to be tough. I would normally recommend separate receiver and speaker combo, but I can't recommend anything without going over $200 for the receiver/speakers alone. You can go with powered mixing monitors, but I find them to be fatiguing to listen to over long periods. Harman Kardon Soundticks or Klipsch Promedia 2.1 systems are pretty decent if you're not expecting a critical listening system, but they both still put you over budget. The only thing I could find that gets respectable reviews was the Edifier Exclaim e10. Multiple sites (some focused on 'audiophile' gear) generally say that for what they are, they are pretty darn good. One site compared them to the Audio Engine A2+, which is a pretty respectable entry level powered speaker.

Edifier Exclaim e10

http://www.amazon.com/Edifier-Exclaim-Bi-Amped-Speaker-e10/dp/B009XGH2HG

u/totalBS · 2 pointsr/hardware

I am currently using my T10s and I really like them, especially for the price. For gaming and general music listening they are great. They are compact but can throw out some great sound. If you want to just read reviews then newegg and amazon have a lot of them. At your price range (which was similar to mine) those are some of the best for 2.0 and what Nyclatus posted would be among the best for 2.1

u/PhasmaFelis · 1 pointr/audiophile

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this; it's not really an audio question, but it does relate to audio hardware, so I'm hoping someone here will have experience. If there's a better place to put it, please let me know.

I have a Genius SW-G2.1 speaker system for my desktop PC. To save space I've got the control box (and other hardware) attached to the underside of my monitor stand with heavy-duty stick-on Velcro. My understanding was that it was designed to hold up heavy speakers.

But it won't hold up. The hook side (attached to the monitor stand) is fine, the actual hook-and-loop connection is fine, but on the loop side (attached to the control box) the glue backing starts to peel away after a few weeks, every time, and leaves it dangling by one edge until I replace it. None of the other hardware I've attached there has this problem; the control box is certainly the heaviest, but it can't be more than a pound or two. I've tried sanding the box and and cleaning it with rubbing alcohol, to get a stronger glue bond, and I've tried using non-sticky Velcro and attaching it with hot glue. Neither one helps much. I'm not sure what to try next short of drilling holes in the box and securing the Velcro with screws and washers, which seems like a bit much. Any ideas?

u/Nihand · 1 pointr/buildapc

Sounds like for what you want, (few wires, no sub) a good pair of headphones might be best.

If you NEED speakers (I dunno, multiple people watch stuff on your laptop much?) just go to amazon and sort by best reviewed, pick something that matches your needs.

There's not a lot of super great 2.0 speaker systems, frankly. All the quality sets are 2.1.

And IF you want a kickass pair of 2.1's, these are great.

http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Gaming-High-Power-Speaker-CA-SP211NA/dp/B004H0MQYW

Even though you totally don't want those.

u/podboi · 1 pointr/buildapc

Hmm, well that's the part I was talking about, the small drivers just have a hard time driving full range. You're not gonna get much better unless the size of the speakers change or the actual set up changes (bigger self amped bookshelves or passive set + amp). This is what I recommend tho.

Edifier Exclaim = $20 higher than your budget, but it fits the size requirements and sounds good.

Edifier R1280T = Same price as above but should offer better sound but is bigger, if you're willing to size up but just want 2.0 set up this is what I recommend.

And tip while you're at it, when looking at audio peripherals don't go for PC peripheral manufacturers, find companies that are actually focus on audio equipment. You can certainly find other manufacturers besides Edifier which I recommended.

u/popjunkie · 1 pointr/Music

real answer: ipods are designed for casual listeners using headphones. As such, the balance is thrown off, especially at high volumes, to make things sound better through those stupid little ipod headphones.

As for ipod speakers, it is assumed that anyone who would buy one of those is going for style and not good sound, so they're all made to look good, not sound good. I'm would assume the Bose one would sound better than any other brand, but, if you buy those, you'll be paying a good 50% premium for the brand name.

If I were you and I really wanted to blast something, I'd probably go with this. Sure, there's no pretty ipod dock but you basically save $200. If you go with speakers any more expensive than these, you probably want to first invest in a better audio source than an ipod.

Theses several Dac/Amp combo or separate DAC plus Amp combo to run Passive speakers but Not sure which would be Best to also run a Sub........if you used the sub woofers Hi Inputs/Hi Outputs you could run a sub off any of the amps.

Topping MX3 Dac/Amp has a sub output and will run 2 speakers (depending on speaker - not strong enough for some speakers like Micca RB42). I run a Topping MX3 with a pair of micca MB42Xs but with your Budget you could get Better that I'm Not familar with.

the Audiengine A5 has rca outputs so you could run a powered sub with them. Sub - you have many Choices but they can get expensive. A5+ plus an RSL Speedwoofer ($399) would be NICE or AudiEngine sub - but at a Desktop I'd think just about Any 8'-10' sub would be Plenty.......

.are you wanting an external DAC or run off the computer soundcard?

these z213's are really good:

https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Multimedia-Speakers-Stereo-Subwoofer/dp/B00KK9481I

i have a pair of them, and they're small, but they sound GREAT. you don't have to use an EQ with any of your songs. in fact, an equalizer will just make them sound worse, they just naturally sound perfect. the only thing i don't like is the subwoofer, it gives good bass, but not that much. a seperate subwoofer paired with the z213's make them even better.

After doing a comparison test, I highly recommend the Vanatoo T0's as a better AND smaller alternative to the Audioengines. The a5's are over-hyped because they look aesthetically pleasing but I promise you the T0's are better sounding, if less well-known. Everyone who's made a direct switch from the Audioengines raves about the Vanatoo's. It also comes with bluetooth, a remote, various useful inputs, and a bunch of cool settings.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/3-5mm-Jack-Phono-Audio-Cable/dp/B000Q6LSWM/ref=pd_luc_bxgy_01_01_t_lh

http://www.amazon.co.uk/3-5mm-Stereo-Socket-Phono-Plugs/dp/B0009N1MV4/ref=pd_luc_bxgy_01_02_t_lh

It has 3 inputs and one output. Depending on the output from the computers and TV, you could use a simple RCA phono to phono or male headphone jack cable for each of the inputs and a RCA phono to female headphone jack cable on the back of it to connect your headphones to.

I'm in the UK but I can't imagine it being more than $20 for the whole thing.

I have pretty well this set up and it works just fine.

I've added a set of speakers instead of the headphones socket

These have a headphone output on the front so I get the best of both.

Hey guys, So I'm a little confused as to what to buy at the moment. I'm looking for a pair of speakers to be used primarily for music. Looking to spend around £200 ($260~) but I am willing to spend a bit more.

I've been looking at these for a while but i'm not sure about them as I'm guessing I'd need to buy some sort of amp in order to drive these?

Also been looking at these.

I'm pretty new to this audiophile stuff so I'm quite confused as to what to buy and what would sound the best and be worth the money.

Any help / advice would be appreciated.

u/davesiubao · 1 pointr/Beatmatch

For this environment, I'd imagine that a couple desktop computer speakers would work perfectly fine. Or if you can spare the money, maybe a 3-piece stereo system from Amazon.

For reference, I haven't used this one in a DJ setup, but these were cheap and sound great even if they are somewhat quiet. They could probably be good enough for some light background level music at a pool. Not sure how much you might be able to boost them through your controller. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006B9W1/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Wow thanks for the gold!

Clevo laptops are less expensive because they don't spend any(?) money on marketing, that's up their resellers. They manufacture blank (mostly?) brandless units that resellers customize.

Do you mean like an external keyboard? You may want to consider one for your extended programming periods. Maybe a Razer BlackWidow (Amazon Customer Reviews (371) 4.3 out of 5 stars). Or an economic or whatever you already have/prefer.

Since this is going to be your desktop, you may want to consider a stand like this. Better to look straighter ahead rather than down at a laptop for extended periods. And since the Clevo speakers are usually lacking, maybe a pair of these (Amazon customer reviews 4/5). I have them myself, not bad.

u/sharkamino · 1 pointr/audio

I vote for the amp and passive speakers! Though that is a jump up in size compared to the others. Also the other options are single unit or proprietary.

You left out the option of powered desktop/bookshelf speakers. Vanatoo Transparent Zero or Audioengine A5+ besides others.

Other passive speakers: AverageJoe's Speaker Recs, r/HTBuyingGuide Speaker Recs

Internet Manufacturer Direct for a good bang for the buck with 30 day in home trials so you can demo 2 or 3.

Philharmonic AAPM $290 + shipping. (14 day in home trial). They have a newly upgraded tweeter and have one of the best low ends of 6.5" speakers in the price range and don't necessarily need a subwoofer for music.

Ascend CBM-170 $300 + $30 shipping. Factory direct from California. Neutral sound with a flat frequency response. Best budget audiophile and home theater speakers I have found and own for 50/50 music and movies under $500. Great highs, mids and lows. Nothing missing, nothing overly accentuated.

Chane A Series $340 + $25 shipping.

Also check out r/BudgetAudiophile for on average under $1000 and r/audiophile.

In the near future of buying some pc stuff and other peripherals, i came across a thought of "which DAC for my dream speakers should i use?" So I plan on getting these sweet puppies:

But obviously to get the best sound, I'll need a DAC or an amplifier.
Here's some I have in mind:

u/djdementia · 2 pointsr/Beatmatch

What reviews the Amazon ones? They are rated ridiculously high there. There are better but nothing that is better "bang for the buck" you could spend more but you are going to get diminishing returns. This is by far the sweet spot for cheap high quality sound that can fill a whole house.

The only other ones I'd consider is the Klipsch Promedia 2.1. The thing is they are 50% more cost at $150 and they are **not** 50% better, they are more like 5-7% better for 50% more money.

They are these ones [here.]
(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015C30J0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) For $30 I don't think you will find a better set of speakers on Amazon, and I am a fan of them, considering the price, but from what I have heard from friends that actually know about speakers, these are the best set of speakers you can get under $50 on amazon.

u/the_blue_wizard · 2 pointsr/audio

There are Amps that have a DAC built in, but typically a Optical/Coaxial DAC. Though that would work for a TV.

Check the Yamaha Amps - AS301 (60w/ch), AS501(85w/ch), AS701(100w/ch), and the AS801(100w/ch) - very good very high value amps. Though there are many other amps to consider.

For about $250/pr, the Edifier R2000DB has TWO Aux in and an Optical In. I believe the 2.1 Edifier S350DB has the same.

I'd recommend you check out /r/zeos. It's US-specific, but the same rules are going to apply.

Ideally, your setup for computer audio should be:

> Computer -> Digital-to-Analog converter -> Amplifier -> Subwoofer -> Stereo Speakers

But you're on a budget. We can skip the digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and just assume your PC's built-in audio-out does it good enough. We can also skip the subwoofer and just spend your money on a cheap amp and bookshelf speakers that aren't terrible.

The cheapest amp I can find for you is the Lepai TA2020+. I'm having a hard time Googling any cheap, UK-equivalent to the Dayton Audio B652's (very cheap, not-horrible US speakers) because Google wants to return me US-centic sites, even on Google.co.uk. But, you can try and look around.

Alternatively, you can just bite the bullet and buy a pair of these. They're powered and come with cables (review), and they are excellent speakers. It's a little over twice your budget, but they'll probably last you way over twice as long.

edit: After some more Googling, I have these super-cheap budget alternatives.

u/MrTubby1 · 1 pointr/audiophile

Is it better to get an all-in-one desktop solution or a more expensive modular desktop solution?
Right now I just want really good speakers for my desktop. I've been hardset on the Vanatoo T0's, which include bluetooth, usb, optical, and aux in. They're pretty much everything I need in one amazing package.

But on the other hand, I've been looking at near-field studio monitors like the JBL 305P, the Mackie MR524 and audio interfaces like the Mackie Big Knob and other DAC's. The big knob also has an input for a microphone which I might want to use for high-quality recording.

Then there's also buying a desktop amp like the SMSL AD18 paired with an actual pair of speakers.

Both the modularity and upgradability appeal to me, but the compactness of the vanatoo's is also so nice.

Any thoughts?

u/fletcherwyla · 1 pointr/Metallica

I use these Corsair for my computer speakers.
https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Gaming-High-Power-Speaker-CA-SP211NA/dp/B004H0MQYW

I wouldn't suggest buying them for any other use, but for a good computer setup, I haven't been let down with them. I used to have the 2.1 from Klipsch which sounded amazing at lower volumes, but they crackled at higher volumes. The sub on this is loud and booming without creating a muddy sound.

I am by no means an audiophile, and I'm sure you can purchase a much better setup, but everyone I've had listen to these speakers have complimented them.

u/aCarrotsSoul · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

The $200 is basically my limit, but with my current set up I don't really have the space for the larger sized speakers such as that.

This is what I current use, and the main selling point was that they fit underneath my main computer monitor since I have no space on the sides and no option to wall mount. But I do greatly appreciate your help with this and I will save this for future reference when I am able to have something like this.

u/modifiedx · 3 pointsr/buildapc

These speakers have been so much better than I could have expected. I trusted the reviews and picked them up to add to an older version Echo Dot that I use for multi-room music, ended up picking up a second pair to use as computer speakers. The price point is much lower than your budget but unless you’re set on spending at least $50, I don’t think you’d be disappointed. Wonderful sound quality. I know you said you don’t care about them being able to get too loud, but these things can put out a LOT of volume as well.

Edit: They’re called the Creative Pebble 2.0 USB-Powered Speakers if you don’t want to use the link.

u/tmichael921 · 0 pointsr/pcgaming

I use these they sound great and they look awesome. They may not be the best brand name but they are a great buy for their price. If you have multiple devices you want to connect, switching between them is incredibly simple and fast as well.

IMO, the best 2.0 speaker set for under $100 are the Mackie CR3:

https://www.amazon.com/Mackie-Studio-Monitor-3-inch-CR3/dp/B00KVEIY4E/

If you don't mind something larger and more expensive, the Mackie CR4 fills in the bass a bit better:

https://www.amazon.com/Mackie-Reference-Multimedia-CR4-Pair/dp/B00KVEIY4O/

If you want to go with 2.1 instead, you can't go wrong with the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1. These speakers have been around for 15 years and are still one of best 2.1 computer speaker sets:

I'm looking for a solid set of speakers (2.0 or 2.1 setup, I'm flexible) for my room at college. I'm in a single-person dorm room, so pretty small, hard surfaces if people factor that in. I like really neutral sound reproduction (I have Shure SRH 840s, and I love the way they sound), especially considering that my music tastes go all over the place. I listen to mostly rock and metal (everything from Zeppelin and Floyd to Dream Theater to Fear Factory to Animals as Leaders, etc. etc.), but also some punk, electronic, pop, rap, folk, and country. I also probably will end up watching TV or movies with these, so that's a factor. I'm gonna be driving these from my custom PC build (no discrete sound card, but I'm willing to add one if it's going to make a huge difference). Only having a wired connection works, but something with Bluetooth would be nice so I can stream music from my tablet or laptop, but it's not a necessity.

So far, thing's I've looked at are:

[Edifier Exclaim e10] (http://www.amazon.com/Edifier-Exclaim-Bi-Amped-Speaker-e10/dp/B009XGH2HG)

[Harman Kardon Soundsticks III] (http://www.amazon.com/M-Audio-Studiophile-Powered-Speakers-Previous/dp/B000MUXJCO)

[Audioengine A2+] (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DQMJE7E/ref=twister_B00KVM3HNO?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1)

[M-Audio Studiophile AV-40] (http://www.amazon.com/Harman-Kardon-Soundsticks-III-Multimedia/dp/B0042F3K9W)

Anything I'm missing, or is one of these a solid option?

Thanks all!

Be warned it doesnt support EAX so you might have issues with gaming sounds.

There are plenty of other asus and asus rog cards which are very good and do support EAX so check them out.

Also creative have high end cards with EAX as well.

Audio quality, bass and loudness is awesome and you have separate controls for each. You can either plug them into your controller via the Stereo Headset Adapter but I'd recommend buying a DAC (Digital to Analog Converter). It is USB powered, you plug it into the SPDIF port on the back of the Xbox One, then plug your speakers into it.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IXN6L3G?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

USB speakers as you mention won't work on the Xbox One they need to use the jack plugs for audio and not USB.

I thought this was budget audiophile haha (or is £100 considered super low budget :o). The logitechs are only available from about £130~ as far as I can see :/

Would it be complicated to choose an amp and speakers? Just seems quite complex to me.

Sorry for the delayed response, some stuff cropped up for me yesterday, so this is the first I've been on Reddit.

I'll admit, I really have no frame of reference for what sort of audio setup you're looking to get here, in mind of the scope of your budget for the build. You can get [a decent pair of headphones for $100] (https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-559-Open-Headphone/dp/B01L1IIEKM), although there are meaningful improvements [at a higher price] (https://drop.com/buy/massdrop-sennheiser-hd6xx) depending on your priorities. A microphone could be anything from [a generic microphone on a cable] (https://www.amazon.com/Microphone-Compatible-QuietComfort-Sennheiser-Headphone/dp/B01NAQWCGS) (note that due to Sennheiser's brilliant proprietary locking mechanism, this only works with the first headphone linked, the 559, and others in its series), to a [fancier clip-on] (https://antlionaudio.com/products/modmic-usb), to a [decent condenser and a little audio interface, which would also give you something to plug your headphones into] (https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AT2020-ScrSl--focusrite-scarlett-solo-audio-interface-and-at2020-recording-package?&mrkgcl=28&mrkgadid=3341929001&product_id=AT2020-ScrSl&campaigntype=shopping&campaign=aaShopping%2520-%2520Core%2520-%2520Studio%2520%26%2520Recording%2520-%2520No%2520Token&adgroup=Studio%2520%26%2520Recording%2520-%2520Audio%2520Interfaces&placement=google&creative=353504443384&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=CjwKCAiA8K7uBRBBEiwACOm4d3qE0PN-3X8mLcnWDImU-a-ej6vw_0fITqAXVNnMvdNb9wTsSwS9fhoCQiMQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds). And for cheap speakers, that could be anything from [a decent low-ish-end $100~ audiophile targeted pair] (https://www.amazon.com/Micca-PB42X-Powered-Bookshelf-Speakers/dp/B00NXAEPDC) to [about three times as much for an mid-end speaker standard] (https://www.amazon.com/Kali-Audio-LP-6-Studio-Monitor/dp/B07NWBSJ11), or a pair of [$20 pods] (https://www.amazon.com/Creative-Labs-Pebble-Black-Loudspeaker/dp/B0791H74NT/).

So uh...pretty much it'd be good to have a guideline for how much money you'd like to allocate, unless you'd like to pull from the examples given above - which should fit the bill, other than the condenser and "integrated" mic, but there are extremely limited options for mics on headsets that are better than stuff like the Modmic, so I didn't really want to get into that quagmire unless you particularly need broadcast mic quality on a headset.

u/NoirYorkCity · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

I appreciate the link, but the price is $280 from Mikes on there

also, just checked my speaker setup is the logitech z-2300 - https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Z-2300-THX-Certified-Speaker-Subwoofer/dp/B0002SQ2P2

looks like the jack is a mini plug (male) that looks like a headphone jack...I guess it essentially is...If I buy headphones I'll have the same issue if it comes with a jack, right? I'll have to get a good mobo then..

I 100% recommend getting a Mobo Speaker.

It's just $5, like /u/jdorje said, and should give you insight into what's going on. I had a similar problem recently, and it turned out to be a RAM issue. With the beep codes, I was able to figure that out right after pressing the power button, and it saved a lot of time messing around with stuff.

Rushing or panicking is never what you want to do with PC issues. If you wait a few days and get the speaker, it will give you much more info to help you and people like us figure out whats wrong.

Best of luck!

I did a pretty quick search on Amazon.de and the lowest cost option for a 7.1 receiver was this for 149EUR but that may be used (I don't read/speak any german) and not comfortable for you?

For you right now I would recommend a simple 2 channel amp like this and two good desktop speakers, those I am having a much more difficult time finding a set I am familiar with in Germany... Then once money is less tight or you find one on sale or used locally you can upgrade to a full receiver, and then eventually a Subwoofer and more speakers.

Alternatively you could get a Klipsch Promedia 2.1 but this isn't upgradeable. Very simple and great set.

Okay so I checked the parts you listed. The only original ones that remain are the gpu, liquid cooler, ram and extra fans. The only thing that I couldn't find was the monitor, 0 results on amazon, so I checked it on pccomponentes and I found it. Unfortunately it's original price is 270€ (currently on offer at 240€) so it's too expensive. I'll like to keep the monitor 230 or under if possible.

The current pieces on list are:

I'd like to stick with pccomponentes because my latest purchases on amazon have delayed literally a month or even lost, and I don't want it to happen with the pc parts.

For the tower I was thinking on the Nfortec Antares white that I first posted or the Phanteks Eclipse p400 white. The one you listed was one that I was thinking some time ago but didn't like it in the end.

And for the monitor I'm not really sure, I'll have to search more till I find the perfect one.

Oh I almost forgot, I looked that Magicforce keyboard you said, it didn't had numpad. I know. I'm one of those who like to have numpad. Call me a weirdo that's what I am. I'll keep searching some other cherry mx red keyboards and reply later on. If not today, tomorrow, it's getting late now.

Also I already have a nice mouse and it's not even 1 y/o so I'm not planning on changing it, at least in the next 1 1/2 y. It's the Razer DeathAdder 2013.

The price now it's 1.100€. With the tower, monitor and keyboard it should be around 1.500€~.

And how much improvement will I see in sound quality from these to a hypothetical $150 set up.

Corsair is known for making quality and reliable pc products, and these speakers are no exception. These speakers are great, absolutely stellar sound quality. Bass is incredible, shakes the house and rattles the windows when you want it to. Absolutely top notch, professional sound quality. I chose these over the similar Logitech Z506 and im glad I did. They are a bit on the pricey end, but you get what you pay for in terms of build quality and sound. Also if youre still wondering, they are LOUD. I love to crank up my music and really feel it in my chest, and this system will do that without even approaching full volume. Even if you do turn them all the way up to max, there is not a bit of distortion.

u/Trick5ter · 1 pointr/BudgetAudiophile

Well I would recommend these for a simple plug and play experience. - Link

They are two way stereo speakers and they are good for the price. Alternatively you could also get a 2.1 in similar price range if bass is important to you.

I'm looking to get the Scorpion Exo 300 due to it's good looks, modularity, and reasonable price, does anyone here own this helmet? I'm looking to add some helmet speakers such as this: https://www.amazon.com/UCLEAR-Digital-Definition-Speakers-Compatible/dp/B00RW10WBC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1509732579&sr=8-3&keywords=helmet+speakers and was wondering if the helmet would be roomy enough to accommodate them? Another thing I wanted to add for a experimental project was a Modmic 5: https://www.amazon.com/Antlion-Audio-Modular-Attachable-Microphone/dp/B01MCYRKY3/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1509732672&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=modmic+5&psc=1 which I'm not sure whether it would fit or not due to the helmets smaller size. Is the helmet comfortable to wear all day? Is it lighter than other helmets in its class?

u/Armsc · 3 pointsr/hometheater

Get a set of computer speakers and plug them into the headphone jack. Turn the speakers up to about 1/2 to 3/4 power and adjust the volume with your TV. I don't now how much better these will sound vs the TV speakers but it's about as cheap as you're going to get. You would probably have been luck with a higher quality computer speaker like these Creative T10.

u/Dark_24 · 1 pointr/buildapc

that does not mean the Motherboard is working just that those headers are getting power..

you could try getting a PC motherboard speaker
https://www.amazon.com/PC-Motherboard-internal-speaker-Corpco/dp/B01527H4W2

Like this to see if you get beep codes or the all ok beep..

You could try a different Video card or make sure you video card works in a different machine..

You could try pulling the whole motherboard out and putting it on a box and breadboarding it to see if you can get everything to work..

Again you can try different Video ports / cables /monitor to see if that helps..

you are pretty much in the dark right now.. only way to figure out is to start swapping things..

I have been using the Cyber Acoustics CA-3090 for the last 3 years, and they are sufficient IMO. In all honesty, I didn't do much research at the time and just picked one of the best sellers on Amazon with decent reviews.

u/ynotplay · 1 pointr/HeadphoneAdvice

It's disheartening to hear that even $400+ headphones and dedicated amp aren't good enough for my use case but good to hear that it'll be good enough. What do you think about the claims made here? https://blog.landr.com/get-huge-sub-bass-without-fancy-gear/
Also, could this be a solution? https://www.amazon.com/SubPac-M2X-Wearable-Physical-System/dp/B0751H8FZ1

I'm trying to stay away from using studio monitors because I've read that the room size and acoustics affects the results. I might get a set of decent monitors in the future when funds permit so I don't have to work with head sets on all the time. What do you think?

u/socokid · 1 pointr/buildapc

Are you testing all of these from the same audio output from the motherboard (back of machine, green jack)? Still curious if the results are the same using the headphone jack on the front, under the top bay cover on your case.

Those Eagle Arions look like thy require the use of a 3.5 mm to RCA splitter plugged into the AUX jacks. NOT the CD 3.5mm input at the top. See the 3rd picture down on in the left column of pictures here.

Headphones: Have you checked to make sure you didn't jostle one of the case connectors on the mobo? Those things will disconnect if you look at them funny...

u/PhxRising29 · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Arion Legacy. These things sound absolutely amazing for the price. I've had them for a couple years now and I still have yet to find something that sounds anywhere near as good for the price. Highly recommended if you're in the market for new speakers.

u/nistco92 · 2 pointsr/hiphopheads

I'm guessing you mean <$200 (less than 200). Also, it would be good to know what "these" are. For general listening, these are pretty good for the price: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0002SQ2P2/itquotes102-20

u/Lodur · 1 pointr/hiphopheads

I got a set of Eagle Tech from amazon, but they were a bit cheaper than this. Good punch when I need it but for the most part they're just a nice set of speakers.

They feel a bit cheap but on the overall, they've got good sound and I'm not throwing them around so I don't feel that the cheap casing is a big deal.

u/thepensivepoet · 3 pointsr/Guitar

I wouldn't involve your computer if you don't need to and a good audio interface is going to cost twice as much as some other options.

All you're really trying to accomplish is mixing two audio signals (guitar + computer) down to one signal you can listen to through headphones or speakers.

As such something like a 2 channel 'monitor mixer' headphone amp would do quite nicely in this scenario

You can send the ME-70's output into the 'Monitor Input' channel and will need an adapter or two to get the 1/8inch aux cable from your computer into the XLR input but it's doable.

Use the front two knobs to blend the input signals and your headphone output's right there.

Lots of 2.1 PC Speaker systems also have AUX inputs you could use for the ME-70 and a headphone output for when you don't want to make noise. Look for one with both a headphone output and an AUX-input like this.

Speakers hook up to PC/laptop as normal, headphones go in the headphone jack (or not if you want to jam with room volume), ME-70 goes into the AUX-In jack and you balance the levels manually by adjusting guitar output and PC volume.

u/poorgeek333 · 1 pointr/buildapc

For PC ownership of any sort, I'd highly recommend purchasing one of these for situations like this, it plugs in above the front panel header. That being said, have you tried testing or replacing the CMOS battery yet? You can use a multimeter with DC voltage settings (also nice thing to have around for diagnosing) and see if the battery is below 2.9V after pulling it from the board. It's a pretty inexpensive item to have handy since they have a decent shelf life. Heat can degrade the battery rapidly and there's plenty of heat sources in a PC.

u/TheElephantsTrump · 1 pointr/Arcade1Up

I appreciate the prompt answer my friend!

Do you think I could fit these satellite speakers behind the marquee and against the H-Panel? (ideally without hacking them too much or removing the enclosure):
https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Multimedia-Speakers-Mobile-Devices/dp/B00KK9481I

u/jooes · 1 pointr/Bass

Here's how I do it... It never really required any fancy mixing boards or anything...

I have a set of these speakers for my computer. I got them at Wal-Mart with a gift card a while back.

If you check out the description, you'll see that it also has an "Aux In" port on the side. So, basically, I can plug two separate things in!

So I have one of those 1/8" to 1/4" adapters on the headphone-out on my amp, with a 1/8" cable that plugs that into my speakers. So, my bass plays through my computer speakers alongside my actual computer, and when I plug in headphones it goes through there too. Everything goes through my computer speakers. It's pretty handy.

u/AdmiralSkippy · 1 pointr/audiophile

I doubt this is the reason but how big is your power supply on your PC? It could be that the speakers are trying to draw too much power and are having trouble. I had that happen when I initially plugged my TV into my PC. I only had a 450W power supply and I would get image, then it would black out on me, although it wouldn't come back after. So I upgraded my power supply to 750W and it works fine.
Although these speakers just draw 70W so I doubt that's it.

And I know these are out of your budget but klipsch pro media 2.1 I've had these for around 3 or 4 years now and they're awesome.
The reason I still posted them is that I would suggest shopping around for them. I'm from Canada and I checked how much £75.50 is here and it's $140 and £100 is $185.
Those Klipsch speakers on Amazon.ca are only $140 here (your original £75) so hopefully you can find them where you live for that cheap. Maybe some PC accessory shop has them for less than Amazon.

u/SamusMcFizz · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

u/ASIWYFA · 1 pointr/BudgetAudiophile

I was originally looking at the Edifier S350DB as an all in one solution to what I wanted for sound, but decided a system I can upgrade in the future might be the best route.

u/3picide · 1 pointr/cordcutters

Some TVs have an audio line-in jack. So, if you want to just keep using VGA and your TV has one, all you need is a cable with both ends male 3.5mm jacks (example here.

Another alternative is to get external computer speakers. The sound should be much better than both your computer and your TV. Added bonus: you should also be able to hook them up to your TV and use them even without the computer.

I haven't used these myself, but I use a similar type (cheap computer speakers with a sub). Even cheap ones often sound much better than what is coming out of the TV.

Honestly though, if the Chromecast at $35 is too expensive, then you might be in the wrong game. (Good) Media equipment is not known to be cheap.

u/PM-SOME-TITS-GURL · 3 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Did your mobo come with a error code speaker?

If not no big deal, they're pretty cheap

If it did, and you've got it plugged in make sure it's plugged in in the proper place, most boards have a dedicated location for them separate from the header pins to avoid confusion.

If it's plugged in in the correct spot, make sure it's fully seated on the pins.

If all else fails, buy a replacement via the link I supplied or your retailer of choice, and plug it in. If it's still not working I'd probably consider it a issue with the mobo. Idk if you could RMA for something like that, especially if everything else that matters works.

$150 for the best sound you've probably heard and and a subwoofer that will make everyone in your dorm love/hate you. Small footprint for dorm size.

Only problem here is it's not bluetooth. There is a bluetooth model if you want to look for used or closeout, but they have been discontinued as the sound (while great) was not as good as the non-bluetooth. So get yourself a good bluetooth receiver

OR

being the audio snob I am, I can't recommend bluetooth for sound quality. But just shell out another $40 for a chromecast audio they're still available and you'll have full google home integration, wireless and the best sound you can get. (chromecast can be tricky in campus wifi sometimes, so check that)

u/JayIkalima · 2 pointsr/audio

For budget monitoring, I'd recommend a combination of the Alesis Elevate 3 and CyberAcoustics CA-3090. You can take out the extra speakers and just set it up without the satellite speakers from the CyberAcoustics set. All in all, for 120 USD, it's a good set, albeit slightly bass boosted because of the external sub. You can set the sub's volume, though.

I got my Elevate 3's for around 70 dollars in Guitar Center and my CyberAcoustics Sub for 20 dollars in a Radioshack. I am an American; I'm not sure where you can get all this in Europe or otherwise. Sorry.

u/zgillet · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

You won't find many crazy good sounding PC speakers at that budget. They're meant for one person sitting and not a full room. So as long as that's what you're looking for they do the job well.

Cheap way to upgrade that situation:

Take a pair of over-ear headphones, pull out the speakers then throw the speakers into your helmet under the pad for ear relief. Just make sure to get a pair that has a disconnect near the headphones so that you can tuck the cord away when not listening to jams.

Amazon sells speakers already set up like this, I'm going to swap out the ones in my helmet with them as the cord got pulled and messed up the speaker. But they seem kinda quiet (only tested outside of helmet) and probably not as good as the speakers I originally pulled out of a $30 pair of random headphones.

When I used to ride I would use [helmet speaker])https://www.amazon.com/UCLEAR-Digital-Definition-Speakers-Compatible/dp/B00RW10WBC/) for music. I think that was the safest method as it gives a little bit of isolation due to being pressed up hard against your ears, but even when music is playing you can still easily hear cars and your surroundings easily. I doubt your PSU has died but who knows, get a PSU tester to verify.

Not really suggestion, but I like those brands. Local Staples and Canada Computers usually have a setup that let you test speakers with your own phone using 3.5mm plug.

On the go, to work, or to the gym I wear these, one charge normally lasts me like 2 and half days of regular use.

I have the same family of speaker you pictured but the second generation in black. Got it for like a blue bill on a christmas sale. I take that to friends houses just in case they got some extra weak set up shit.

I game and "designated dj" with these turtle beach x01s

On my new PC i have these old logitech speakers and subwoofer combo that still boom, got them a few years back for like $20ish

On my main TV i just have the stock built in speaker.

What about these? Will I need a receiver for them? Are they good? Couldn’t find anything in this sub about them.

u/TimeTravellerSmith · 1 pointr/buildapc

IMO, get yourself a cheap 2.1 system like these Logitechs if all this is going to be is a holdover. Take the money saved over a 5.1 or 7.1 system and put it towards your next, better system. No reason to waste money on something you're not going to end up with.

They actually sound really good for the price, the subwoofer kicks enough that I have to turn it down because I live in an apartment. Their isn't enough room on my desk to have them standing so I had to lay them underneath the monitor :p

u/Kenny_Bania_ · 1 pointr/buildapc

I would get this one instead. It's pretty much the same monitor but it doesn't have built in speakers, and a little cheaper.

I wouldn't recommend using the speakers on a monitor. They're not great tbh. You can buy some cheap Logitech speakers for less than $30 that will be way better than monitor speakers.

Unless you're going to hook up a gaming console, as then the built in speakers come in handy.

u/SoggyCheez · 1 pointr/computers

If you're going cheap a pair of Logitech speakers will do the trick.

For $12 you can get these but don't expect much in the way of sound quality. Even if you aren't regularly using them for music you would easily be able to tell the difference between these and a pair of $30 speakers in games and movies.

u/KangaOG · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Yes I do, get them if you just want a cheap speaker with decent quality they also go quite loud without loosing much quality You can find them here

I think the total comes just under 600 bucks

I changed the monitors to some slightly different ones that have better user ratings at Newegg; note that they do not have built in speakers, so you'll need some cheapies or some headphones to get sound.

Edit: Found some likely candidates.
