My CSL Elite throttle also started getting jittery/spikey after a year of use. I got some some DeoxIT D5 and that completely fixed it. Also picked up some ‘reel butter’ for the gears, seems like a good safe lubricant for plastic and was pretty cheap.

A touch-less sensor would be ideal but the potentiometer should be better shrouded or sealed. It's fairly exposed but at least it's easy access to service.

With loadcell I prefer them over the t3pa pros as well

Berkley 100% flouro is pretty cheap and not bad.
Seguar Red label is pretty good, but more money.

It'll never be as manageable as mono though.

stuff like this helps some. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001RUWPR8/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_WRjjDbG2NX3T3

I've moved to mostly braid with a flouro leader.

You've basically got 3 main options, a free-spool reel (This + Mounting Kit), a closed face reel (Like this), or the AMS (Or this).

Someone might argue with me about this one, but I'd really advise against the first option. You're going to be taking lots of shots while bowfishing, and the faster you can retrieve and get ready for the next shot the better. It's a decent introduction to the sport, but that's about it, you won't be very actively shooting at fish.

That said, between the last two options, I've only tried the AMS kit, so I can't say which one is better necessarily, but with the amount of tangles I used to get in my Zebco reels just trying to fish normally turned me away from the close faced reel and left me with the AMS. I also wasn't a fan of the fact that the Muzzy reels supposedly have a drag system, spool, and you have to make sure you've pressed in the button before you shoot. I can't speak for everyone else, but I don't want to be around for the one time I forget to do that. Ultimately, for ~30$ more than the Muzzy, you can get the "top of the line" reel, so why not?

So tl;dr, go with the CajunArchery one if you're only looking to spend like 30$ getting into the sport to try it out, but if you think you're going to like the sport (And you probably will, I've yet to bring out one person who didn't have a great time, even people that hate fishing) I'll advise the AMS reel. Ultimately everything you need to get on the water will put you back ~$130.

Oh, and make sure to get lots of replacement arrow tips :P

I would do a light clean just to be safe. Take apart everything you can without using a screwdriver. Clean. Apply oil to everything that moves or turns. You should be ok. Buy a reel cleaner. I started using reel guard this year. After use I just spray with reel guard then wipe down.

I read some suggestions here that said to try liquid graphite or grease. I went with oil/grease because 1) I had some and 2) was afraid of the graphite making a mess. I used a Taiwanese brand of ball bearing lubrication, so I can't really recommend one. I'd say you couldn't really go wrong with something like PENN Synthetic Reel Oil.

Careful taking it apart. I know you have to to switch the weights, but I feel like it was when I took it apart the third time that something happened to one of the LEDs. Just be cautious of them because now one is stuck on red.

Only thing I can think of is this Danielson Clam Gun, not sure how good it would be in grass/dirt.
