Unless you can find a great sale (and I've seen some steals on new drum sets before, especially on Amazon), I think buying used is probably your best bet, especially with a $1000 budget. Also, you may want to spend a large portion of your budget to buy high quality cymbals from the start. Keep in mind that drums can always have their heads changed and also be tuned, whereas there is very little that can be done to change the sound of a cymbal. In my experience, the most common and affordable "pro" level cymbals are Zildjian A's if you are buying used.

Additionally, everyone here seems to recommend buying the best seat (which is referred to as a "throne" for some damn reason...) that you can afford. Popular choices are Pork Pie and Roc-N-Soc. Personally, I use something that isn't sold as a drum throne - this work stool.

Finally, are you a totally inexperienced drummer? I recommend just a practice pad and pair of sticks to start. It's certainly much cheaper, lol.

I had approached getting a single desk with my boyfriend but he seemed pretty adamant against it, unfortunately. I will try to sway him, maybe he'll change his mind or something.

We have the litter box & extra bikes (we have a lot of bikes) stored in the back hall by the bathroom. The cats like the window, which is why it's there.

We're pretty good with kitchen storage. We were actually thinking of getting an Island/Breakfast bar kind of deal with two stools, but I wasn't sure if two desk chairs + two stools + a loveseat would be crazy for the space. I was kind of admiring something like this

I thought about the sofa against the wall, too. Again, I'll have to approach the boyfriend as he seems adverse to giving his desk up.

Thanks :D

I just moved and the sofa I have needs to go. I don't have a place for the desk other than the living room so it can stay in its current spot or I can move it against the wall where the cabinets end. I've included some pictures and the floor plans.

If I keep the desk where it is, I was thinking about getting a small love seat. If I move the desk against the wall I would get a small sectional sofa.

I believe I need a area rug and a coffee table as well. Or will this crowd the room too much? If so can anyone recommend ones that will fit in with this room. The TV stand may also need an upgrade. It was just a cheap solution to get me by at my last apartment. I am just looking to setup a living room that is functional in the small space I have.

I am near an IKEA so I defiantly will give them preference for furniture. What I currently have is listed below:

  • Hendrix Desk New version linked, the one I have they are not selling. Referenced for its dimensions. I got this at a Crate & Barrell outlet store for next to nothing. Had to fix the tracks in the drawers.

  • 3x Twist End Table

  • Tustin Lounge Chair and Ottoman Set I have one of these, not sure if I can incorporate it into the room or not. (Not pictured).

  • Sofa Came with the wrong legs and bolts. Never would purchase anything from Coaster Fine Furniture again.

She found the stools on a fb yard sale page but weā€™re pretty sure that these are the same ones . I think she found the pendants at Loweā€™s or Home Depot but I canā€™t say for sure.

Thank you for specifying multiple items! I couldn't pick.

  1. I want an attractive bar server. Something like this I love my wine and liquor. I have to wait until my kids are all old enough that I don't have to cringe whenever they're near it, though.

  2. A stationary bike. I'm paying $300 a year for a gym membership just to ride stationary bikes. Why not buy my own and cancel the membership? We'd save money long-term. High impact exercises are a problem for me because of repeated injuries to the same ankle. Bikes are my way to burn lots of calories in a short amount of time still.

  3. A nice bird bath for my front yard.

  4. This appetizers on ice thing. This would really come in handy for parties I've thrown!

  5. An awesome popcorn popper. I love popcorn but I have absolutely demolished every other popper I've had...they just don't hold up to once-a-day or even a few-times-a-week use for at least a year. So, if anyone has any other very durable suggestions, let me know!

My original thoughts are that black might make it too dark? Perhaps brown or grey would be a better fit? Strongly considering these types of barstools below

Step 1:

Obtain area rug. Try and get something that will either compliment the couch or something that really pops.

Step 2: Wall Art. Cheap prints can be found online on Etsy, Redbubble, or your local Antique shop.

Step 3: Plants! Go to your closes walmart or nursery and pick up some cheap potted plants. Water em'....but not to much.

For the furniture, you are looking for something mid-century modern type, so AllModern, HayNeedle, Structube, and Ikea will be your friends.
As for pub tables, are you thinking of something like like this?

u/johneldridge Ā· 2 pointsr/alcohol

Holy shit, 2k?? I was just browsing Google shopping results and there are some beautiful examples for less than a grand...

This looked particularly awesome... $423 for marble-top counter, super classy.

On amazon! Literally I buy almost everything on amazon lol Better Homes and Gardens Nola Bar Cart, Gold Finish https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075GGRJRK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_MI9PDbE5Q29MV

u/kevinneirbo Ā· 1 pointr/ThriftStoreHauls

This is the one I have. A little pricey, but it is a great, decorative space saver!

u/LateClaim Ā· 2 pointsr/malelivingspace

Something like this, the brown leather would really pop against the white and grey.

I'm also a big fan of some like these.

Coaster Gloss White Contemporary Bar Unit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008Y2YNX6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_NgXFzbJ1P9F8C I go this a few years ago, and I love it. Might be a bit wide for your needs, though. This is what it looks like with bottles on it.

u/2Fab4You Ā· 12 pointsr/gatekeeping

Yep, I'm actually pretty certain the person bought these and painted the logo on them.

u/Schweizerdolch_60 Ā· 3 pointsr/BottleCapCollecting

You can put them on the top of a round cocktail table kinda like this but customized with a recessed portion for the caps and a piece of glass that will fit snugly over top.

u/DJHX Ā· 2 pointsr/cade

Thank you. I found them on Amazon. It wasnā€™t easy to find this specific style. Hereā€™s a link to the blue version: Richardson Seating 0-1971BLU... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XWCY8BC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I would so totally recommend something like [this:] (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20104718/)
or on amazon, this!

I am all for building speaker stands if you are handy. However, I have also used bar stools for years as speaker stands. As a matter of fact, I used to have the same exact system / speakers you have (Logitech Z5500) and used bar stools for the speaker stands around my computer.

I am using these now:

Bedroom Stereo, 24 Inch: http://amzn.com/B0094G373I

Media Room, Side Speakers, 29 Inch: http://amzn.com/B0094G36TS

They are very stable and you can use them with larger speakers later if needed - or as bar stools.
