We're playing riichi rules here. There's a switch on the inside if you wanna take out bonus tiles. I love the table, honestly. It makes playing mahjong not an all night thing. Knock out a hanchan in like 45 minutes if you're not fuckin around!

Making the wedding party sit together gets on my nerves, especially if they are allowed to bring dates. I went to a wedding out of state with my FH. We'd been dating about a year and a half so it was appropriate for me to go. FH was in the wedding as a groomsmen. Seating at the reception was terrible. (3 tables for the wedding party with a few tables for family beside those, all of the other tables were on the other side of the room, cafeteria style with covers.)

I was supposed to sit with the family, since I knew 0 other people there and the family liked me, but was kicked out to the general area because they couldn't count. It wouldn't have been that hard to add 1 extra chair. Who did I get to sit with? The sister-in-law I despise and her 2 unruly children that I somehow became in charge of due to default. (She shouldn't have been at the wedding, honestly, she's a thief that stole a lot of $$$ from the bride and groom. Yes, please sit by my purse with credit cards in it.)

How do I know just how easy it would have been to add 1 more chair? Because after the 14 hour drive to arrive the day before the wedding I helped to set up the reception site until 10pm. Putting favors together (plan much?), setting up the tables and chairs, decorations, etc. etc. The wedding party left, so it was the groom's mom, sister-in-law and her 2 kids. Eventually the bride's parents came to help by bringing more things for me to put together. I didn't want my FH's brother having a bad time, so I worked my butt off for 8 hours. Eventually the wedding party came back talking about what a lovely dinner they had, and my FH was sent out to get pizza, because we were all starving from having been at the reception site all day with only trail mix. Which ended up missing a lot of m&m's because the kids were starving and their mom didn't bring them snacks.

I'm not sure how everyone here will feel about it, but I like the idea of buying the fold up plastic tables for temporary solutions to dining and desks. They are very durable and inexpensive. Of course, they aren't sexy.

My reasoning, though, is that I would rather buy that and use it for a time as my dining table, while saving up for an actual wood table. Unless you have a lot of money available, the early options tend to be, at best, a new mdf with laminate table from ikea or a reclaimed laminate table from a thrift store. Both don't seem to last too long in my experience and don't look great as they age. The folding tables are roughly the same price with better durability and long term use. They also don't tend to wear and look worse over time (but again, they aren't very sexy to begin with).

The additional advantage to those plastic tables are that they can always be kept around for parties - - even after you buy a better table.

Its called a hexagon folding chair. Looks like this particular one was originally sold by walmart (with pillow) but it is not in stock. I have found some similar on amazon (without pillow and different pattern). But at least with a name, you should have better luck in searching for the right fit.

No lie - exercise and strengthening your core support muscles can help (and can help your posture, too!). Eating healthily and being properly hydrated can also make a huge difference. Or you might look into a sitting aid like this chair or a zafu. Emptying some of the buckwheat makes it easier to mold into the support shape you need.

In my experience it does get easier with practice but everyone's physiology is different so it's hard to say how it will be for you. This does seem to be a common struggle though so at least you know plenty of other people are working through it and lots of meditators have succeeded!

This is not an appropriate submission for this subreddit. I've removed it under rule 4.

I suggest posting to /r/Furniture_Design, /r/Furniture, /r/Home, or /r/HomeDecorating. Maybe /r/homeowners.

Best of luck.

But also, this is similar. It doesn't rock, though. The pear-shaped one from Brookstone is best but it's out of stock.

He doesn't even need a desk, just this: http://www.amazon.com/Multipurpose-Utility-Center-Fold-Folding-Carrying/dp/B007TY7210/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1394206216&sr=8-7&keywords=folding+utility+table

It is easily the best desk I have ever had, and it convenient folds in half so I can take it anywhere or fold it up to save space in my small apartment.

Highly recommend that you try chairs before purchasing. We have 4 of the Ikea High Back Office Chairs. I also have two SecretLab Titan. And several of these folding chairs when we have more guests.

Once again, highly recommend trying the chair before buying or making sure there is a good return policy.

I know these are decent and survive for a damn longtime. They’re a bit expensive though and aren’t the absolute most comfortable thing in the world but definitely good enough to sit in and not have any complaints.

Do you think this table would be big enough for her to work on, it's 20 by 48 inches: https://www.amazon.com/COSCO-Adjustable-Height-Table-Black/dp/B01KS4RJO2

I was thinking a fold up table width adjustable height would be easier for her to either work on this at the couch or sit at it like a desk. Our townhouse isn't the biggest so I'm trying to be creative with what space we have.

The amount of different materials and ideas is a bit daunting, I may have to just pick those up with her help. I'm not sure if she knows what all she wants to try making yet.

I've been looking at HERCULES series as well, but the folding chairs.

Good to hear other chairs in the series work well. I might actually buy a few of these after all.

I used one of these for a long time until I got my rig. Folded the legs up and slide it under the couch when not in use. It was super stable.

I got a 4-pack of some standard metal folding chairs off of Amazon and the chairs are really sturdy. I think these are they. I’ve had plenty of heavy guests sit on them and have never worried.

They’re about $1,200 USD and up, depending on the features. There are some specialty arcade shops that sell them, or Amazon also has one or two.

The cheapest model that you can get reliably is around US$1200 excluding shipping charges from China/Japan.

Someone posted the Amazon link here.
