  • A standing mat because standing in the kitchen cooking/cleaning is hard on the back and these mats make it so much more comfortable. It's really amazing and makes life a million times better, especially if you have to stand a lot.
  • A dehydrator to make dried fruit, fruit leather, jerky, dried herbs... so many possibilities, and everyone will be really impressed when you pull out some homemade jerky. (Can you tell I like making food?)
  • Record players are coming back into style. Music records won't get lost when your computer crashes, and they'll outlive the singularity. And you can listen to music... while you make food!

All of these are on my Over $30 wishlist.

    Thank you for the contest!

Well what role do they have exactly. If they are retail, they could probably use a few things:

Pens: http://www.amazon.com/Zebra-Ballpoint-Pen-Retractable-29212/dp/B004WOAJP6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1426819458&sr=8-3

Stapler to save their wrists: http://www.amazon.com/Stanley-Bostitch-Electric-Capacity-02210/dp/B00006JNU2/ref=pd_sim_sbs_op_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=1P36SKYQNHS5S45VQPFG

Mat to save their feet: http://www.amazon.com/Smart-Step-Anti-Fatigue-Polyurethane-Length/dp/B00OFVJQRS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1426819677&sr=8-3&keywords=smart+step+mat

Kind of a range of prices as well, depending on how much you want to spend.

If they are a CPP or do a lot of clinical stuff then Epocrates Essentials is SOOOO useful, albeit a bit expensive (still less expensive then the alternatives and a lot better IMO).

but as I said, everything is a hardwood floor (except tiling in the bathroom), so I think the brush isnt so important...but what do I know

edit: I eliminated anything that didnt have a powerbrush, so its down to 3 competitors, and I am pretty sure that the hitachi looks like the best deal.

This is one of those youtube influenced marketing things. For a home hobby detailer, the "cart" is their driveway or a cabinet in the garage, stack a few free five gallon buckets in the work space. Towels, sponges and applicator pads can go inside. Spray bottles can hang off the outside rim. But selling a system is far more profitable, it gets customers to buy products and services they might not otherwise buy.

If you consider this adam's detail cart. Each shelf is only rated for 44lbs. On the other hand something like this rubbermaid cart which gets battle tested by janitors, warehouses, etc and has accessories for tool and bottle caddies.

There is value in having one of these carts for full time detailers so they have all the equipment they need right next to them for labor efficiency. For the home hobbist or low volume this bottle caddy might be better.

Eventually you can get the rubbermaid service cart and this caddy can sit on the top shelf.

As for how a cart is organized, what chemicals, towels and pads you keep on it is dictated by the type of services you most frequently do. Our system is glass cleaner & APC bottles hang off the lip of the cart, tire dressing bottles in a caddy, the applicator brushes in a tray. Dirty towels on the top shelf as well, when a detailer finishes a car they take the dirty towels to washers. Washers clean and fold the towels.

Wax, interior dressing and leather conditioner on middle shelf in individual 16 oz squeeze bottles. Bottom shelf is for 1 gal bottles of the glass cleaner, interior dressing. Wax and leather get kept in the store room where customers can't steal it.

Clean towels are on a separate rack

I came up with a better solution for my roommates and I. Instead of buying paper towels constantly, I bought this case of 150 food service towels. They are made of an anti-bacterial fabric, and are absorbent enough for most tasks. We keep a stack of fresh ones on a shelf, and have a bin to place the dirty ones in. When we run out of clean ones, we wash them all in the washing machine (one load). Although the primary motivation for this shift was environmental friendliness, these towels have also saved us money. I highly recommend it.

If you ever decide to splurge on a bag get a Veto Pro Pac Tech-LC it really is a great bag for electricians. The tech-LC version has nice wide pockets on the back where you can fit meters, toners, p-touch labelers ect.

Actually....yes there is a tool that makes it easier. Something like this. Don't have to buy it through amazon.com though. I've seen them at drug stores like CVS or Walgreens, they're usually meant to help elderly people reaching things on the ground or that are up high.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XH4ZZL9/ref=asc_df_B06XH4ZZL95192764

I'd still suggest bring some latex or nitrile gloves with you, just in case. We also usually bring a plastic grocery store type bag (or we did before we moved to where those bags are illegal, now we have to use paper).

Bonus points if you sort things you can recycle for $$ while you're picking them up.

u/pro_organizer · 3 pointsr/organization

I would put a freestanding hall tree against the wall beside the door or floating along the carpet line. Coat racks are fussy and I think you'll need something substantial as the kids grow up. Plus, you can usually add a lower second row of hooks (that kids can easily reach) on anything with a reinforced backboard.

Don't set the hall tree on the tile because your walkway is very narrow. Get one with built in storage so there is a place for the bags to sit on top and baskets underneath for accessories. This won't be used as seating, just bag and accessory storage. Open baskets on a shelf work best, no more than 2/3 of the shelf height so a hand can grab something inside without too much hassle.

Here's an open style with plenty of shelves for storing accessories:
HOMYSHOPY Entryway Hall Tree with Removable Hooks, Storage Shelves and Bench, Multipurpose Coat Rack for Hallway, Vintage Brown https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PR8LHVK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_artQDbX5XJG9W

Here are two more traditional ones that might work:
Crosley Furniture Seaside Hall Tree - Distressed White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MG6URP0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_FstQDbTC40RPM

Linon 76063ANT01U Santa Fe Hall Tree, 40" W x 17.99" D X 64.02" H, Natural https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010PBECF2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_yttQDbMR8HG1X

Remove the coat hooks from the wall and line stacked shoe storage along the short wall, maybe a tray next to them since men's shoes and winter boots don't always fit the dimensions anyhow. Plus, it just looks tidy and is a good reminder for where shoes are allowed to go. I recommend keeping all shoe storage open because you want to keep your system painless for children or newcomers to use.

Personally, I like shoe shelves that aren't just the skinny bars because small shoes and heels don't stay on easily.

To match the first hall tree, 1 or two of these depending on space:
VASAGLE Shoe Rack, 5-Tier Shoe Storage Organizer with 4 Metal Mesh Shelves for 16-20 Pairs and Large Surface for Bags, for Entryway, Hallway, Closet, Industrial, Rustic Brown ULBS15BX https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SJZJ7YK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_4vtQDb470GXYV

Different styles:

MyGift Rustic 4-Tier Vintage White Wood Entryway Shoe Rack Storage Shelves with Handles https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JYM9M5R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_zBtQDb3JCZX2T

LANGRIA 4-Tier Metal Shoe Rack Utility Shoe Tower Shoe Organizer Shelf for Closet Bedroom & Entryway Bronze https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EJO9UP8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_qztQDbN43B2HT

Boot tray options, but take measurements first:

Hudson Exchange 4010 Waterhog Classic Boot Tray, 34" L x 15" W, 3/8" Thick, Medium Brown https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TT8ESRK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_mDtQDbHGWT34G

Ottomanson TRY400-30X15 Multi-Purpose Indoor & Outdoor Waterproof Tray, 15" x 30", Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LBL9XKE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_sEtQDb184SCKD

I would move the wood bench either behind the floating hall tree, floating in front of the hall tree against the wall, or along the wall by the other doorway if it stays in this area at all. You might need to play around with a few layouts and see what works, and if course measure and verify that everything works for you. The examples I linked are not vetted, only style suggestions and they might come in different sizes and quality ratings from other sellers.

For things that don't readily come off with alcohol and/or water.

These:

Alconox Powder Labware Detergent, 4 lbs Box https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FGDEP1Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_buPwCbCFF6J2R

100% Orange Oil d-Limonene HIGH PURITY Food Grade, Solvent, Medicinal, Cleaner, Degreaser, Limonene (32 fl oz) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009SSGW48/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_WuPwCb3DKT2R4

And/or an ultrasonic bath are what we use in our lab.

To clarify we do not specifically mix alconox and limonene. Not saying it will be toxic or have a violent reaction if the 2 mix, but typically we try not to mix solvents.

For stubborn stuff the ultrasonic bath works great.

I would avoid using salt as it can scratch the glass and if you are using tap water it's a good idea to rinse with ethanol or isopropyl afterwards to prevent hard water stains and to help it dry thoroughly.

If you can't decide which to try first go with the limonene. If it's still really stuck you'll probably be best to invest in a ultrasonic bath.

No you're fine. You use paper paper towels as much as you can. Then you use a spot cleaner. If you don't have a spot cleaner buy one (Bissell 3624 SpotClean Professional Portable Carpet Cleaner - Corded) and only use water. Then in the meantime get a more stiff brush (Mintcraft 2043 Stiff Bristle Scrub Brush) that won't be used for any other purpose.

Natures Miracle Advanced Stain & Odor, 1 Gallon

If you need it today, make a trip to the store. The reason for using enzyme cleaners is that all other cleaners set in the stains rather than removing the poop from existence. Nature's miracle drops fast when pouring, so don't overlap too much. Instead, clean it multiple times. If you don't dry it with paper towels or a spot cleaner, you might get mold as any liquid sitting under your carpet can do that

Edit, so the ideal workflow is:

  1. Place duck tape on carpet to mark where the poop sort of starts and ends. You'll want this for both when you're cleaning after it's hard to see where it was and also so you don't step on the spot for the next day or so.
  2. Pick it up with dog poop bags that you should have when he goes outside (don't have a shit filled backyard) or walks (don't be an asshole to everyone).
  3. Scrub with paper towels as much as you can. It's like cleaning your ass. Actually it's exactly like it. Now you may learn how toilet paper isn't actually enough and how your gf giving blowjobs would appreciate you bring cleaner than the majority of men.
  4. Take out the trash. This makes airing out easier and saves you from smelling any hint of shit each time you throw something away.
  5. Wash your hands.
  6. Open windows and turn on any nearby fans.
  7. Pour nature's miracle. Start by circling and outline around it. Then spiral in. Wait 20 minutes.
  8. Scrub. If you have a spot cleaner, you can suck up all the cleaner at the same time.
  9. Dry it up all the way (this isn't fully drying it, but no evidence of moisture, at the point, means there's still some moisture left.
  10. Repeat until it's gone.
  11. Wash your hands.

For the future, make sure your dog is potty trained and also is taken care of appropriately (taken outside enough and also is happy and gets the walks and food they need). If you're a selfish asshole, you'll still do this religiously because you know it's less work than having a dog that's stressed enough to shit inside

I'd recommend something like this. I'm not sure what solution would be best, maybe an actual lens cleaner, or just isopropyl. http://www.amazon.com/Kimtech-Science-KimWipes-Delicate-Wipers/dp/B00F462ZJY/

u/rire86 · 1 pointr/ACL

All of the above. Also, my friend got me this and it’s been a great addition: https://www.amazon.com/Grabber-FitPlus-Premium-Reacher-Warranty/dp/B07T3G57SL

u/bathtub_toast · 2 pointsr/3Dprinting

Interesting. I'll give theirs a try when I use the last 1.25L of anycubic I've got. Although it might get a dose of ... highlight (maybe?) to make it not clear.

And searching amazon for the form labs clear resin, have you seen this yellow magic stuff? I mean 11 reviews doesn't boast alot of confidence, but it doesn't seem horrible either. its made of propoxypropan-2-ol whatever that is.

https://www.amazon.com/Yellow-Magic-Undiluted-Packaging-Varnishes/dp/B01EG502M0/

u/brooks_silber · 2 pointsr/FTC

Pretty sure this is what we used: https://www.amazon.com/Dycem-50-1502PNK-Non-Slip-Material-Roll/dp/B071DWQ8XM/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=pink+dycem&qid=1573484111&sr=8-1

we just cut out the size we needed with scissors and attached it with carpet tape.

Hope this helps!

u/punnyHandle · 2 pointsr/lawncare

A reusable trash bag like this is always nice: (If you talk to a Gravely dealer they may have one that fits his mower perfect.)
Debris Bag Rotary 751-949 Stens https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007VSQL1Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_DDwSCb75XWM9N

And a reacher grabber tool top pick up trash/sticks without getting off the zero turn:
Grabber Reacher Tool for Elderly, 32" Foldable Picker Upper Grabber, Long Handy Mobility Aids, Reaching Assist Tool for Trash Claw Pick up, Litter Picker, Garden Nabber, Arm Extension (Mazarine) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BKW2LHG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_oGwSCbDJ6R9XQ

Those are cheap tools, but very useful.

u/MrJacks0n · 2 pointsr/prusa3d

I use these to clean my PC bed, https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B004SPJP5O and https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C1K7Y74, before every print. Do this while the bed is at room temperature.

A picture of the bottom of the first layer of a print will be very helpful, it should be solid with the lines barely visible, if you can see the lines you need to go lower on the LiveZ adjustment.

If that still doesn't work, you may need to wash the sheet with dish soap (dawn) and water and dry it well with a lint free cloth, then use a hair dryer to make sure it's really dry. Prusa doesn't recommend this because it can rust, but as long as you dry it quickly it's fine.

u/adamwbarr · 1 pointr/camping

Agreed, I wouldn't bother trying to find a backpack that claims to be waterproof as it most probably isn't.

Instead just put everything that you want to stay dry in one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Brute-Super-Tuff-Compactor-kitchen/dp/B00GF1DO4W. Weighs and costs almost nothing.

Alternatively if you want to spend and carry a bit more you could get some dry sacks, for example: https://seatosummitusa.com/products/ultra-sil-dry-sack. These are also good for organising the contents of your pack.

u/RusticSurgery · 1 pointr/pestcontrol

Yes. I'm a big fan of glue traps. Don't be afraid to use them "two in a row." Mice can get smart and jump one of them but two is a stretch. After you do some exclusion work and continue trapping; don't be afraid to rearrange boxes and other items to "funnel" you little friends in you various traps and devices.

Clean up: A light spraying of water with help the "dust" from floating about when you begin to clean by sweeping ect. There are (likeQuat 10) that will help kill these nasty little viruses but spraying the area down with water is effective as it keeps the dust (which contains the droppings/urine and thus the viruses/bacterium) from floating about simply by weighing it down. This limits your risk of inhaler something nasty. Quat 10 is expensive.

As to the mice...The deer mouse is marked a bit like a whitetail deer. Brown with a white underbelly. A house mouse is usually a shade of gray...hmmm...50 shades of gray.

Years ago, I bought a DrumMat on sale for $35. It's nice that it folds up small and is lightweight, but I wouldn't ever spend more than $50 on a rug. Just make sure it has a rubber backing.

Pick up a box of these KimWipes, $8 for 280. These are used in labs to clean $10,000 lenses. Alcohol based wipes will degrade your lenses.
