This video is a pretty good primer that can help you get started on preparing mate.

If your US-based, you can buy your mate related gear on Amazon, this is a pretty good starter kit. The wooden "gourd" is not traditional, but it is easier to clean.

There are tons of good Yerba brands to choose from, but to start I'd recommend a few of these:

Canarias
Rosamonte
Guayaki (Traditional) -- if you're US-based, this one is easiest to find, likely even at your local grocery store.

Good luck and enjoy!

I get shoulder pain and for me working on a standing desk really helps. If you can't get a fancy standing desk (I'm lucky that work has them for everyone), then you can do a DIY thing. At home I don't have a standing desk, but I put my monitor on a bunch of old cardbord boxes and boxes. The keyboard and mouse I put on put ontop of something like this https://www.amazon.com/Sofia-Sam-Tasking-Supports-Laptops/dp/B015X48RHA/ . So basically it's a makeshift standing desk and it works great.

I also use an Anti-Fatigue Mat as it helps with standing for hours on end. Though I found one at costco for $15 which was a good deal. It's meant for the kitchen , but it works.

Also I follow the Pomodoro Technique of working. Every 25 minutes I take a 5 minute break and go for a walk outside. I hear a lot of programmers complain that it breaks the flow, but for me I find it to be a nice moment to relax and helps gather my thoughts. Sometimes we get stuck in a rut, stepping away and allowing the mind to relax really helps. It also helps with pain by getting a little bit of movement.

Here are a few suggestions:

  1. I don't know what size your oven is, but guessing it's a DO10, you'd probably need 30 or fewer coals to get to 500 degrees. It looks like you're cooking inside a BBQ grill, which would likely focus the heat and be pretty efficient compared to a camp oven outside, so probably even less than 30 coals would work. Lodge has a handy coal/temp chart for camping Dutch ovens, so you might need to adjust for non-camping ovens, but it's a good start.
  2. As Zaggie said, coal placement is important when baking. You could do a ring a few inches away from the bottom of your oven, and you could also move about two thirds of your coals to the top of your oven on the lid. Camping Dutch ovens have flatter lids and a special lip for holding coals and ash on the lid, so it'll be a little tricky with your non-camping oven. You could also consider a riser like this for your oven.
  3. Since the bread is in direct contact with the bottom of the oven, you might consider a trivet in addition to fewer bottom coals. This would go between your bread and the oven and help the bread to heat more evenly.

Exactly, use cheap poster wall stickies and utilize craft magnets for the wall. This way you can distribute weight horizontally as well as vertically. I also adhere on the inside plastic too and attract them to neighboring boxes for further support.

If you go just the wall route you may wish to do it for every row, currently I do it for every other row, with protected Pops as a foundation for further support. I like the vertical look and hopefully this works for you too, if desired (it can be a little time consuming arranging them to work with magnets).

For complete autonomy, I wouldn't recommend attaching the magnets to the paper of the box (decreases resale value). Only adhere one magnet to the wall and a free magnet on the inside. I would also suggest going to a Joann's or something. They specifically have better magnets and sometimes the ones I get are weaker but Joann's will have guaranteed good ones. It's an experiment after that to figure out how to arrange the best way structurally. I offset Pops like bricks to further increase strength.

Reference if my words are too crude

Edit: Forgot the wall hangings

Search on amazon, either neodymium or high strength magnets.

I bought these:

Maybe these?

These are great if you can overlook that time the owner spewed a bunch of classist venom on customers for not liking her waffle iron or whatever it was. Idk bc she's irrelevant. But srsly great magnets!

These seem well loved and always intriguing to find products with such outdated packaging...bc they know the product is so good they knew they didn't have to bother with after 1967

u/milktotes · 4 pointsr/Cruise

Command hooks sounds like a very bad idea, but these are the hooks I used on my last cruise, very strong and there are magnets on the same listing that are stronger if you're unsure about these 25lb magnets.

Also, vertical strength (hanging from the ceiling) is gonna be stronger than horizontal (hanging from the wall). With the magnets I got, you only get 1/3 when hanging horizontal, so if your 12lb magnets are the same, you just reduced them to 4lbs, which does sound too light for your wet swimsuit.

u/playhertwo · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

These magnets are her main gift, along with construction paper and glue and other things. She gets very little candy because we are rural and our local stores don't carry things she can have. Holidays are an exception :) I really love that flower crown though!

u/ryanmercer · 2 pointsr/minimalism

Egg foam and plastic boxes for the pewter, for the plastic just place them in the bottom of a shoebox and line them up, use egg foam to eat up any empty space if you can't fill a shoebox.

If you want to spend a little extra money, buy a BUNCH of thin neodymium magnets from eBay or similar. Hot glue them to the bases, cut a magnetic sheet metal to fit in whatever container you want and then place them in the container. They'll stay in place and you won't need to fill empty space with egg foam.

5mm x 5mm flat squares (or similar sized discs) should cost you 3-4 cents each by the 100 and 1 should do fine for plastic and 2 or 3 for the heaviest pewter figures, just flip them over, apply a dab of hot glue and drop a magnet on and press flush with a pin or something, should fit i the bases just fine without changing the height unless bases have changed in the past decade since I stopped buying them. Makes it easy to move large quantities at once without worrying about them sliding around/falling over.

Edit: Kinda like these https://www.amazon.com/Fine-Clutter-Refrigerator-Whiteboard-Magnetic/dp/B01M0XJD3O although these are likely going to be entirely too thick to hide under the base flush

I bought several thousand small square disc ones years ago and use them for everything heh.

Edit 2: exactly like these, except that is way too expensive, definitely check eBay if you don't mind waiting for shipping from China https://supermagnetman.com/collections/neodymium/products/s0510d?variant=11410378691 pretty sure I paid like 1.5-2 cents each.

Edit 3 these should work http://www.magnet4less.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_131&products_id=99 , 6 cents a pop. I mean it has been 10 years or so since I ordered any that small so that might be fair pricing now, eBay does have cheaper but China shipping can take a month or more.

Edit 4: I hate you, I just bought about a hundred bucks of magnets from them. Hooks and ones with countersunk holes because I just thought of like 8491283 things I can do with them for use as storage solutions haha.

u/casualredditreader · 3 pointsr/Assistance

The company has a "history of tea tree oil" on their web site that's pretty interesting. You could make your own I guess. I'm just lazy. The only reason I went with these is because I found them on Amazon and they shipped right to my front door. I even picked up a nice steel holder to put my toothpicks in. I like the taste of the tea tree oil. It helps freshen your breath and keeps your mind off smoking.

u/ricctp6 · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This magnet. It makes me laugh so hard. It has utility because it is so big, it can hold up something very heavy.

Or if you want the six pack these are cute; especially if you drink wine :)

u/gimmesomefiction · 3 pointsr/mildlyinteresting

buy some glass straws on Amazon! I use mine for smoothies, they work great. No waste, easy to clean.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N00OEJQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Those are the ones I have. $7 is well worth it, they last forever.

u/McFeely_Smackup · 1 pointr/guns

This happened to me the first time I took my first can out shooting. set it down on the range bench, and the rubber mat melted right to it. Once it cooled, it picked off without a trace, but it was a good lesson.

I picked up a couple of these silicone kitchen trivets and just keep them in the gun bags. They work great to put the hot cans on, the dots keep the round ones from rolling off, and it doubles as a mitt for unscrewing hot cans.

I'm honeslty surprised the suppressor companies don't make their own logo silicone mats. I'd buy them.

u/muhaski · 4 pointsr/castiron

Well he's talking about roasting and you're talking about braising, which are two totally different things. I braise in my dutch oven, but rarely roast. Braising is low and slow, simmering in a liquid. Roasting is typically dry heat and cooked at a higher temperature and a faster rate than braising. Braising does better with meats with a lot of connective tissues (short ribs, chuck roast, pork shoulder). Roasting is typically for leaner meats like chicken breast, sirloin, and tenderloin. If you do want to roast in your dutch oven I recommend buying a trivet that fits your DO. It will keep your roast out of the liquid that accumulates.

u/PrimumSidus · 1 pointr/whiskey

Oh I'm right alright! The 5L line is about the "min" water level on the anova, the 12QT line is about the maximum water level, and you can clearly see your stuff inside at all times. Also it's very easy to see if you have any kind of small leak, because you can look through the sides and see how clear the water is. Better than looking down through the moving water's surface.

I put a small silicone trivet under one of the edges to avoid sliding, or an accidental bump. Also it keeps some of the heat off my counter on long cooks. Something like this:

http://www.amazon.com/iClover-Quality-Black-Silicone-Trivet/dp/B00D06M8D8/

I have little round ones from Le Creuset, came in a package of 2.

It isn't exactly hash but you can buy kief presses (Link to pollen press) that you fill with loose kief and the press it together to make solid "hockey puck" looking clump of kief. My grows are always pretty small so I don't have enough kief to use other methods, but this works great and is pretty simple.

The best solution I found is to get a bar mat, something like this:

https://smile.amazon.com/BonBon-Professional-Bar-Service-Mat/dp/B06X93XN69/

It looks spiffy and keeps the grounds contained - all you have to do it shake it out over the sink (or dustbust it) once a week or so.

They're just some generic remote control RGB lightbulbs.

And I just plugged them into some cheap clip on light fittings.

I started using Hue bulbs since then, but for my study they work great.

I had a Space Case that was AWESOME. I would recommend it to anyone willing to shell out the cash. Unfortunately, while the Space Case was exponentially better than any other I've used, it was not better enough to justify its price tag. So if you have a friend in the hippy smoke shop business that can hookah you up with one at cost, get that shit. If you don't, go with Uptoke's suggestion. May I also suggest you pick up one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Magnetic-Handle-Aluminum-Pollen-Press/dp/B003CDXGUS . If you have the patience you can collect so many kief and make a magic bong bullet to load up and blow you brain out with before work. Hit that shit emperor!

>If you want, you could refuse straws at resteraunts and purchase your own paper straws. Don’t force me to dine to your preferences.

Couldn't the same be said to you? You could also bring your own straws if you need them. There are alternatives to paper straws.Metal. and glass.

If it is a thick milkshake it can also just be ate with a milkshake spoon. Most sit down restaurants that offer milkshakes will have them.

Kids that drink from straws are more gassy and bloated because they also are sucking in air. Most kids can drink fine without straws.

Those plastic straws floating in the ocean and building up in the landfill do hinder others though.
