In general, it's a good idea to have the following if you follow the ATGATT philosophy:

  • DOT helmet - $40 - $500
  • Reinforced Gloves - $100?
  • Jacket - $150
  • Boots - $30 - $200

Some accessories you may consider getting later down the rode:

  • GPS/Phone Mount - $50
  • GoPro - $400
  • Bluetooth Headset - $150
  • Backpack - $150

While you may be tempted to save as much money, I wouldn't spend less than $100 on a DOT helmet, at least for your primary helmet. Amazon has some nice helmet choices. I have two different sets of gloves, reinforced biker gloves and winter gauntlet gloves.

I spent $100 on the pro gloves

I spent $35 on the gauntlets

As far as boots, I personally think it doesn't matter what type of boots you get. You can spend $100+ on reinforced biker boots, but I bought a pair at Walmart for $30 that are slip resistant. So I can wear them to church, work, and when biking. I tend to like things that are multi-purpose like that. But go with what fits your style.

Leather Jacket I got this jacket, and absolutely love it! Way better than a tactile jacket in my opinon. A leather jacket is going to be a good choice as it's going to provide more protection, and is better for the winter as well. On the other hand, a tactile jacket will be slightly less hot (though I feel that the leather jacket is cooler than my tactile jacket but I'm probably having selective bias because I like it more)

For a helmet, I recommend getting a DOT modular helmet. Amazon has a pretty good selection, but you might want to consider going to dedicated bike websites to find something else. Revzilla is pretty good on helmets.

A. I'd be finishing off paying my credit cards, maybe pay off a chunk of school loans, spend $500 on buying some decorations for the house and chuck the rest into savings in the bank.

B. Shelves. I need more space to set things besides the bar top in the kitchen, which I can't do that anymore because my cat is likes to destroy everything she can find lol maybe some faux ivy to hang up around the house as well.

C. I'm not sure whether you wanted exterior fur or interior fur sooo

Exterior

Interior

D. I'd suggest reading Good Omens by Neil Gaiman. It's a little less sci-fi, but still a bit fantasy in that it's an angel and demon trying to stop the apocalypse. Hilarious book and brilliant writing. Gaiman also wrote a graphic novel for Marvel for 1602 that I haven't had the chance to read, but hear it's great. But I'm guessing you probably already know who the author is since one of his books are already on your list. I'd also suggest Prey by Michael Crichton. It's about a loose swarm of nanobots escaped from a laboratory.

E. This floral shirt is really cute!

F.  Maybe given your interest in animals and Norse mythology, you might like this?

G. I'd pick u/SpecialJNess because she's new here, but she's quickly become an active part of the community, goes out of her way to make people feel welcome and has an absolutely radiant positive attitude.

  1. I would pay off all of my debts and spoil my kid. Maybe get myself some stuff as well?

  2. A bowl with fake lemons in it. Anybody who does that has their life together. Haha. For real though, I would like to just decorate with random stuff. Like hey, here's shelf on the wall that has a vase on it cause why not?

  3. I can't choose just one, but i'm a fan of these. This one is more subtle, but has interior fur.

This one is black and more ostentatious, but if paired with the right clothes, it can look super classy.

This one isn't as ostentatious, but has a touch of fur to let people know that you can be fancy as fuck without going all out.

This one is my favorite, honestly. I actually really like the white one, but the black one is pretty neat.

This one is more practical, but still has a good look.

Again, more practical, but doesn't look too bad.

  4. Unfortunately, I don't read books nowhere near as much as I used to, so i can't really recommend anything.

  5. Here are some ideas for nice boots.

Also, i'm not sure on your budget, but here are some ideas for nice Jewlery.

  6. Not sure on the quality on some of these, but they're at least somewhere to start from. I hope that you like!

  7. I nominate /u/IceCage42! This person is always nice and takes the time to comment on a lot of people's random comments in the daily/nightly thread (including mine). Thank you!

Okay first off:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TWAXAWO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Secondly, thank you SO much for such kind words! Those who know me well know that there is plenty of darkness in my character, despite me being a pretty cheerful guy. I feel like that was extremely helpful in performing Yagami, because he's clearly had a history that has scarred him in different ways. I'm also a big idealist when it comes to justice, to the point of stubbornness. I get physically ill if I sit and think too long about how such horrible stuff happens to good people in this world. Yagami fights for justice, and I love him for that. =) Definitely a lot of pressure taking on this role, but thanks to amazing supportive fans like you, I couldn't have asked for a better outcome!

u/Sophisticated_Sloth · 1 pointr/motorcycles

Hey man, thanks a lot for your response. Will look into boots and pants as well. I've seen some motorcycle pants disguised as jeans and chinos, but armoured with kevlar. Will they be just as safe as regular motorcycle pants?

Also, this may seem like a super stupid side-question, but I saw this super cool Deadpool motorcycle suit online, and the ad says it's armoured on arms, knees, shoulders, and back. I'd get a huge blast out of riding around in that, but I'm concerned about the safety of it. Is there a general consensus that clothing should only come from motorcycle shops, or could I probably be somewhat safe in this? I'd probably use it solely for city driving, so not at high speeds.

u/TameYourHeart · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon
  1. 20K a month. Wow. I can't even imagine that. Month 1, I'd pay off my credit cards and car, put the rest in savings. So I'd use $18k a month to pay off my student loans in 4 or 5 months (using the other 2K for every day expenses). Then work on paying off my house. So after 13 months everything will be paid off. After that I'd probably do some deep heavy research into charities in my area and become really involved in them to the point where they call me "Mamma Warbucks."

  2. So to spruce up my living space, I would make a statement that my neighbors would realize "Here Lives the Biggest Nerd on the block" I would probably buy this flag for the outside. Or the Federation one. I'm not sure which statement I'd want to make more. Cause it is drawing a line in the sand by putting out the one i linked above.

  3. SO i forgot to say "Coat" in my first amazon search. So then I found THESE Beauties and have since put them in my amazon cart for my boyfriends Christmas PJs. But for a jacket I'd probably say this is one of the classier ones with Faux Fur. But honestly, I'd probably buy This one it just looks super warm and classy.

  4. So looking at turtle pendants on Amazon. I like this one. I like how the Opal looks.

  5. cjenvy. Because I like their answer to what they'd do with 20K. They want to travel. I didn't even think of traveling in my answer even though I travel as often as possible.
u/JudgeJimmie · 1 pointr/motorcycles

Yeah I am sitting ok on gear right now. I got my bike in the middle to end of last summer and this is what I have

Jacket

Pants

Gloves

Of Course Helmet

I don't have boots, usually wear a hiking boot.
I also have a nice backpack and an icon tankbag. Would probably need to invest in some saddlebags for sure. Good advice about the backpack, I should probably get bungee netting and strap my backpack down to the back of my bike.

Lacking on the camping supplies too, so I would need to buy that.
And a lot of the maintenance stuff I have just not in small sizes haha. Any good roads you would recommend between Minnesota and California? Too many to choose I imagine!

Trust me everything you say about the trip is exactly why I want to do it. It's the reason I got a motorcycle. Well one of haha.

I definitely have some maintenance to do on the bike as well, but I am pretty confident I will be able to pull it off. My parents will actually probably make me take it to a shop to have it looked over if I decide to do the trip.

u/fedeolivuy · 3 pointsr/HelpMeFind

So you are asking for a leather jacket or at least faux leather jacket with a famous design on it for 30 pounds? I'd either go up on budget, or look into similar looking ones... but dont be discouraged

https://www.amazon.com/WSLCN-Vintage-Leather-Motorcycle-Jacket/dp/B01MA4MCRK/ref=cts_ap_2_vtp this one is pretty good looking, but is Faux lether and seem to have some discrepancies on design (minor)
I hope that helps

u/amped24 · 2 pointsr/Welding

Do you want the best or just okay and what's your budget.

I recommend starting with a hood and working from there. I have the Miller Digital Performance and recommend those or the digital elite. This will also work for oxy fuel welding/ cutting

http://store.cyberweld.com/miarcarwepep.html

For boots I highly recommend these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006T2Z940/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My pair have lasted for 3+ years.

Soap stone- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004D27DT2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Gloves I like Miller or Matheson the rest of your tools brand doesn't matter just go to your local store and pick them up.

u/nightgames · 3 pointsr/malefashionadvice

I have a few questions about jackets:

  1. Does anyone know how the alpha industries M-59 fishtail fits? I'm usually a Medium in men's but the fit looks kind of boxy in pictures I've seen. Other black fishtail parka suggestions are welcome.

  2. Looking for a rain jacket/something waterproof but I don't like Rains or Patagonia Torrentshell.

  3. Looking for a black varsity jacket with black leather sleeves. Found this and this but the quality is obviously cheap. I'm looking for something with a slightly better quality but I'm not spending $300 on a varsity jacket. Suggestions welcome.
u/fesnying · 1 pointr/cosplay

I'm gonna take a look for this but I also want to recommend this instructable/youtube video I saw about modifying stuff. :3 I think it would work well for the yellow on the jacket, especially with a glossy varnish/clearcoat/whatever over it. Also, I think you could add the yellow zipper at the wrist, if that's what you're referring to.

Are you looking for a men's jacket or a women's jacket?

If someone were doing a casual Spark I think this hoodie might work out well. I'll keep my eye out for a leather jacket.

Edit: The second/"Black3" color here (women's) or this (also women's). Still looking at guy coats. Sooo many extraneous pockets/buckles/studs and things. They have a tendency to look really bulky too.

u/rocky_hamster · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Any idea on a nice, warm leather jacket? I tried Nordstrom, Macy's, Nordstrom rack, Lucky Denim, J crew, Johnston and Murphy, Sears, Banana Republic, basically every store in the local mall.
I want black leather. I don't like the feel or up close look of faux leather. I would like some significant lining, removable if possible. I don't like elastic around the waist or cuffs.

Has anyone ordered a leather jacket online and been happy? On Amazon maybe?

I like this style...Not sure about ordering a 120 dollar jacket online.
https://www.amazon.com/SZYYSD-Winter-Genuine-Leather-Jacket/dp/B0198MBMB6/ref=sr_1_11?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1480121251&sr=1-11&nodeID=2476603011&keywords=lined+leather+jacket&refinements=p_72%3A2661618011%2Cp_n_size_browse-vebin%3A2343349011

Is there another store I should look at?

Btw would be looking for something 500-600 but was hoping to get a Black Friday cyber Monday deal...

What are your thoughts on lambskin leather jackets? I have never worn or bought a leather jacket but apparently they are quite light which I think I would prefer.

Here is a link of one I had my eye.:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Brandslock-Lambskin-Genuine-Leather-Burgundy/dp/B07B2BTLFT/ref=sr_1_1?s=clothing&ie=UTF8&qid=1527415892&sr=1-1&refinements=p_4%3AInfinity&th=1

Any suggestions as to what it would go with? Also any other general advice as to how to go about buying a leather jacket would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

u/JediPaxis · 3 pointsr/StarWars

I don't know how screen accurate you are trying to get or how much effort you are willing to put into this, but The Rebel Legion is basically the best resource you are going to find about costumes of the heroes of Star Wars. If you do a little web searching, you can find lots of people who have made their own and there are lots of resources to mine.

If you don't want to make it yourself there are lots of people who are selling items that you can put together on your own. You can get the top here, but they certainly aren't the only place you can find it. Boots, gloves, belt, cloak.

u/courtesyxflush · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Amazon has a pretty good selection of Levi's jackets for under $100. As far as a casual fall jacket goes,
I've had my eye on this one.

Sorry for the horrible formatting I’m on mobile and the app keeps crapping out.

If you still aren’t set on any of these, I found a lot more by googling “suede trucker jacket”. I don’t know how much you’re willing to spend but there are some really gorgeous ones out there.

Hope this is better and that you find what you’re looking for!

I have recently got military like Winter coat from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Bane-Coat-Leather-Jacket-Swedish/dp/B00CJM09X0
I would love to wear it in my future years too!

u/Moonyx_ · 2 pointsr/cosplay

Amazon usually has some good looking stuff, did a quick search and found this but you might get something more affordable or better looking depending on what version your going for

u/FuzzyRocket · 3 pointsr/cosplay

I cosplay as Bane and the answer to your question is going to depend on how much you want to do on your own vs how much you want to spend. I can't speak to the quality but you can buy the full costume from Amazon and other costume websites.

Here is what I did:

  • Mask- I am guessing you want to buy the mask. I picked up mine from Amazon

  • shirt- just a black shirt will do.

  • pants- pick up a pair of black or dark grey cargo pants.

  • vest- I picked up a tab molle vest from Amazon and then made my armor plates by fiberglassing over carved styrofoam, and then painting them and attached to vest with Velcro. I made my own harness and picked up the unique brass buckle from someone on eBay.

  • boots- just a pair of booths that match close enough will be fine.

  • coat- when I priced I found that a real Swedish bomber jacket was just a bit more than a costume one so I got a real one from Amazon.

  • gauntlet- I made mine from scratch from leather.
u/Nitro-Nito · 2 pointsr/NYCC

A friend of mine was doing a Star Lord cosplay this year and picked up this jacket from Amazon. It's listed a couple times so you may be able to find better prices, but here's a link
