Based on another post I read somewhere I just bought a SanDisk Wireless Stick 64GB currently on sale at Microcenter for $29.99 instead of the normal $59.99. What's cool about it is that it has built-in wifi and a battery. Right now the car is in my garage and off but I can copy files to and from the flash drive over the wifi connection. That means you could not only grab the dashcam video but also copy mp3 files to the car. Can't wait to get v9 to try it out.
Edit: Amazon link as well
Just got this one that another Tesla owner recommended: SanDisk 64GB Connect Wireless... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZCFYF2W?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
What USB stick is the community buying for dash cam (specifically Model 3)? What feature is most important?
A portable wireless storage device like this would probably fit the bill.
Get a WiFi USB drive so you can view the video on your phone if something happens to show the police.

I agree with you. It should be done aka iPhone Music style. You click a button and the whole screen flips around in MilkVR (on your phone not in VR) and you see all the same lists and categories of MilkVR and the videos that populate those containers. You swipe the app to the right to add your chosen video to the download queue. The download queue uses a logic database to remember where to put the video files for which apps so they will work when you load the app in VR. If you click Play Now, the similar "Insert your device into the GearVR" comes up and when you insert it, the video plays automatically without the MilkVR interface even being needed. Now that would streamline things and make finding videos even easier than in VR. And no waiting around while downloading. Oculus tracks the download natively, so it doesn't get lost by the app after you lock your phone.

Direct Support for a wireless USB such as THIS one. That means Oculus will know if it connects and will ask if you would like to install your apps and games and videos all on that USB stick instead of on your phone. You click "Yes" and it sets that up. Then you can always use that Wi-Fi USB stick to play your GearVR. Now your phone stays your phone and your USB stick contains all of your GearVR downloads. By the way, the device can let up to 3 total devices use it simultaneously, so if a few family members had the GearVR, they'd be able to all play from the same one device. You are saving even more MB of space that way. My only question is: Is it fast enough to handle 3 GearVR users accessing videos, games, etc... all at once? It may become a jerky-juttering mess!
That's a great post whoever linked the Lightning usb drive.
Pro 9.7 LTE user here, I have Dropbox for the stuff I need on the go, at home I can use my NAS to get to files I need ( might be a suggestion for you)
I travel a bit frequently, and for movies and docs when I'm in the plane I have this guy: SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick 64GB, Wireless Flash Drive for Smartphones, Tablets and Computers (SDWS4-064G-G46) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZCFYF2W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_btxtxb44SKT18
Wireless, charges easy with any usb charger or battery pack and similarly priced without taking up the Lightning port. Something to consider
The SanDisk Connect Stick has been out for a while....

You can get the 64GB flavor on Amazon for $40:

Something like this, although you'd need a computer(e.g. raspberry pi) to connect to its AP and pull the data off.
Just bought one, we'll see how it goes.
Something like this?

I bought the sandisk wireless thumb drive. Uses an app and you can look at the videos on your phone in the car. Was tired of having to unplug, plug into my laptop to look at videos. You still have to unplug the usb from the car to put it into wireless mode, but so far I love it. Instant gratification to look at hose sentry mode events.

There’s a good YouTube video on how to format for Mac or PC. I have a Mac and you use disk utility to format which was super easy.
Anyone knows if something like this would work?
https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Connect-Wireless-Stick-Flash/dp/B00ZCFYF2W/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1525298732&sr=8-3&keywords=wireless+usb+drive
They make wifi USB flash drives which would work easily in on of these.

If that's your case, and just don't want them on you phone, but don't want to completely delete them then plug your phone into your computer and move the picture over to your comp. if you don't have a comp, try one of these or one of these with wifi
I have a SanDisk wireless flash drive that works with computers and my phone. It creates its own wireless network and you can use the SanDisk app to access your files.
Another option is an iXpand drive which plugs directly into the iPhone’s lightning port.
